Visionary folk artist Howard Finster built this labyrinth of mosaics, mirrored houses, and hand-lettered sermons in his backyard. Still operated by a local foundation, it’s frequently praised by Southern Living and music historians for its REM ties.

Howard Finster’s Paradise Gardens is playful and thought-provoking with buildings and walkways filled with bottle caps, bicycle parts, and paint --- all created from Finster's brain. There is no museum walls - you walk through, touch (where permitted), ponder, and feel. In the glossy world we live in --- it was refreshing to see the art raw and weathering. It's so original. I think you could go over and over and see new things every time. And then, there’s Mary! What a gem! We chatted with her for a while and she was so warm and insightful that we could’ve stayed and talked for hours. We can't wait to go back once the restoration is complete! Such fun!!!!

This is an usually wonderful place. Reviewing the history is a must so that you understand the art and structures on the grounds. The main building is currently under repair, but there is a multitude of other buildings and arts pieces to see on the grounds. It's a true experience.

Very neat place! Definitely worth checking out! Also, there are two orange cats to hang out with. I only nabbed a photo of one but they are both very friendly!

Unlike any other artist's home, this a wonderful collection of Howard Finster's art. Come here to learn his story and discover how his art has always been around us.

An interesting artist garden park. Finster was super creative, eclectic and one of a kind. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stopover

What an amazing way to spend Ann afternoon. Been there twice and it was better the second time. Howard Finster was an unusual artist. Worth the trip.

Fun place to visit if you follow folk art and of Howard Finster. The grounds have paths, bridges, a Meditation chapel, and several buildings with Finster works. If you are lucky plan to go during FindterFest in September when there are dozens of Folk artists with their works on display.

Incredible!! Christian or not, it's deeply moving. I wouldn't take my OCD dad here, but pretty much anyone else. It did have a cover charge that was more than $10 a person. When we went, 10/2023, the house wasn't open and under repair, but the grounds were covered in trash to treasure art that is Christ centered. Lovely place! Check it out!
