Boston’s Indie Music Venues Are Disappearing | Eater Boston

"A longstanding venue that has booked touring and large regional acts since 1977, the Paradise Rock Club remains a durable spot for bigger shows amid the erosion of smaller clubs." - Jennifer Henry

Getting in with a Fast Pass is brutal. You feel like you're cutting the line because there's no designated section for those with the pass to stand. Minus that, place is nice. Small size, intimate. Upstairs area is great and the drinks are Boston priced.

Amazing venue! It's small but not insanely cramped. The sound is really good, and bass-heavy songs absolutely SLAP on the balcony. You have a nice view of the stage from almost the whole venue; the balcony views are just obscured at some angles because of the support columns. Their bar has a very wide selection of drinks as well. They even have coat/bag check services and rentable portable chargers- two things I wish I knew about beforehand 🙃

Absolutely loved this place! 10/10 would go again!! It was the first time a Brasilian artist was doing her U.S. tour and the night I went to specifically was her closing show and omg. The staff were so welcoming and kind to her and her fans! Great venue to take many pictures- seriously my friend and I took pictures in every corner of this place! I’ll definitely be on the look out for more shows there.

Bring ear plugs. The sound folks did okay. It's tough to dial in live music quickly, but you kill the whole mix if you just turn things up when they aren't cutting through. Your system has has plenty of volume. No one is gonna miss a thing if you dial down the rest to bring up the instrument or vocals that are getting lost. This is a rookie mistake. Booze is reasonably priced for a live show. Bathrooms are quick. The layout for the stage is nice and intimate. If it's a sold out show expect to be elbow to elbow in the entire venue. I don't hate the place, but they push or exceed capacity for a sold out show, and again, the sound quality is hit or miss. If its not a band I love, I'd probably pass on this place. If you're looking for parking use the university garage. It's $14 bucks for the whole night and easy to get in and out.

Great venue, been there multiple times. I personally like venues in the smaller side, it makes the show more intimate and easy to get up close to the stage for an awesome spot. Only complaint is that it will get too packed and the staff does not really manage or handle the foot traffic of people, so ordering a beverage at the bar could be difficult when more than half the people at the bar are not there for service but just watching the show. Other than that, cool venue that hosts great bands and shows!

Awesome venue. Paradise is a great little spot to see a show. The balcony is a nice touch if you dont want to stare at the back of people's heads. Multiple bars with great service. Cleans bathrooms. Parking isn't ideal so you might want to go online for that if youre traveling from outside the city. Lots of good food options nearby.

The venue is excellent. They have full service food and drinks available in their own restaurant/pub. The band is easy to see from almost anywhere and there is extra space (even couches) and plenty of access to bars and friendly staff. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is due to the lack of available parking options. BU has a nearby lot but it's unavailable when they are hosting home games. It's permit parking only on the side roads. There really aren't a lot of places to go before or after a show in that area for dinner or drinks either. Once you're there, it's a great place to see a show though!

I will say this ... I'm never 100% sure about this venue ... there's something about the acoustics (or something) in there that seems to distort the sound sometimes, and there are (famously) two large columns near the stage, one left and one right, that do genuinely get in the way. That said, everything else is awesome. The staff are cool and even friendly. Bar staff too. The upstairs balcony works out pretty well (especially if you are near the front, of course). The vibe is cool. There are plenty of food/drink options locally (lots of them within two blocks even). Parking is decent if you drive, or there's a T stop right there. Also close to BU, so maybe you'll get smarter by osmosis! #BaysideIsACult #AnthonyRaneriRocks
