"The franchise Paradise Biryani Pointe has become an examination of the ways that halal cuisine can span cultures with dishes like za’atar naan, Indian falafel, and paneer tikka kabobs. In 2023, owner Ali Wazne, who is Lebanese American, partnered with Srinath “Ziggy” Kalmadi, who is Indian, to launch Paradise Street Eats, a food truck situated in Greektown. Select from a variety of street snacks, including butter chicken chaat, lamb keema samosas, and a variety of savory dosa rolls. Be sure to wash down your mobile meal with a refreshing mango lassi and keep it moving. Online ordering is available." - Serena Maria Daniels
"Indo fusion restaurant Paradise Street Eats & Biryani serves hyderabadi dum biryani, along with street snacks like butter chicken loaded fries, and traditional and creative dosa rolls. Starting Thursday, March 6, the restaurant will roll out a unique-to-metro-Detroit late-night dining experience with its Ghabga Nights series, taking place from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. every night (later on Friday and Saturday) during Ramadan. Diners are invited to try dishes representative of the Gulf region, which includes cuisines typical of Kuwait, Egypt, and south Indian-Hyderabadi region. Prices vary from $11.95 to $39.95. Reservations are not required. Co-owner Srinath “Ziggy” Kalmadi also runs Paradise Biryani Pointe Troy, where he’ll offer Hyderbadi barbecue platters." - Serena Maria Daniels
"Operating from two Dearborn locations and a food truck in Greektown, this vendor fills samosas with potato and green pea masala and also offers those samosas deconstructed as a chaat featuring spiced chickpeas, diced onion, tomato, cilantro, chili, cumin, and drizzles of yogurt and chutneys; add a plate of Super Desi nachos and you have a ready-made, flavorful spread for sharing." - Serena Maria Daniels
"I loved that Paradise Street Eats brought desi fusion to a food truck — I was excited to be able to get desi fusion on a truck and I go at least once a week to host a high tea guest for my podcast." - Serena Maria Daniels
"A food truck spawned from a local franchise partnership, this mobile concept translates South-Asian–influenced halal cooking into street-food form; its butter chicken tacos layer creamy, marinated grilled chicken in butter sauce with chaat-style vegetables and a bright mint-and-tamarind chutney, all built on a piece of chapati. The truck has parked in busy weekend spots such as Belle Isle—where it joined a large concentration of halal food trucks—and has been presented as a replicable model for aspiring operators outside the metro area." - Serena Maria Daniels
