Find it by the throngs of people outside on any given night, bathing in the light of a neon chile pepper, waiting for a table or queuing for takeaway, which can be ordered ahead or selected from bains-marie filled with rich, aromatic Mughlai curries. It has been our favourite restaurant for last 10 years. But unfortunately recently food quality has gone down a bit. Few months ago we had biriyani and it tasted bit different than usual. Less meat and dry rice. And this time (Saturday night) we bought curry and naan and there was so much burnt charcoal bits in naan. It can be happen as it's cooked in tandoor but this piece shouldn't be sold to any customers. It's bit shame for our favourite restaurant. Hope they bring back the quality like their golden days!

Very disappointed with our order today. We ordered a chicken biriyani family pack and a single mutton biriyani. Both had very less meat, which was unacceptable for the price we paid. We called the restaurant to complain and were told that the issue would be escalated and someone would get back to us. However, no one ever contacted us after that. Poor portion quality and even worse customer service. Will not be ordering again.

I bought Chicken Biryani and Ginger Chicken from Paradise. First of all, they increased the price of the Biryani from $16 to $19 in just two months. The Biryani had too much rice, and the rice wasn’t even cooked properly. It was full of masala powder instead of being flavorful like other restaurants’ biryani. I also bought the Ginger Chicken, and it was fried too much with hardly any chicken pieces. The taste was horrible — way too oily and full of artificial color. It was a total waste of $9. Thank God I didn’t buy the large pack. Honestly, this is the worst restaurant around. They could do so much better than serving this chili-powder-filled biryani.

Never ever order anything from here if you value your money. I ordered a Gobi 65 from here and someone decided it was alright to cut up the cauliflower into huge chunks, dip it in batter, half cook it and serve mushy. Not to mention the heavy usage of food colouring, the stinky batter used. I am trying to salvage the cauliflower as I am typing out this review but there is not much hope. The picture you see is the one after recooking. It stinks. If you cannot serve properly cooked food, for whatever reason it maybe, please do not serve at all.

Paradise Biryani is an okay place for cheap and quick food. The biryani tastes good, but it feels like they use a lot of color and MSG to enhance the flavor. The place looks hygienic, though I’m not fully sure about the standards. Customer service is poor because they’re always busy and don’t really care about individual customers. Good for budget food, not for service or experience.

Ordered a family pack chicken biryani and found a huge fly inside. This is a serious hygiene issue. The restaurant called me and said they would call back, but I never heard from them again. Very poor handling of a serious issue.

Have been eating here/from here since before they occupied the whole street and sadly things have really gone downhill food wise. From missing naans in the takeaway to the tasteless food, it is very hard to justify spending our hard earned money here. A plea to the owners to get their act together for the sake of Indian cuisine in Auckland. Ordered seekh, Afghani and 65. Overcooked kebabs and 65 was just a pack of wet batter. Truly disappointing!

Paradise Indian Food has been a reliable spot for takeaway meals since I first arrived in New Zealand. The food quality is generally good, with generous portions and authentic flavours that remind you of home. While the taste can sometimes vary slightly depending on the day, it is still a great place when you are craving Indian takeaway. The service is usually quick, and the variety on the menu makes it easy to find something for everyone. Overall, a solid and dependable takeaway option.
