This is a 2 star hotel at a 5 star location. Beautiful views and building as well as an excellent breakfast, but a lot of shortcomings that are just not tolerable at this price point.
The pool area is dated and ugly, there are no slippers and no bathrobe, nor any complementary water.
Also, it is built within a tourist attraction which is crowded all day, meaning that whenever you want to have natural light in your room you will also have about twenty people looking in. As tourist access requires a ticket, there is only the main exit from the hotel, which is about 15 minutes by foot. As a consequence, every walk to the beaches that would only be about 100m away turns into a frustrating walk past the barricaded side exits all the way out of the fort and then around it on the outside.
This of course does not bother many guest residing here, as they are predominantly geriatric and don't even dream of going to a beach. Consequently, the visual and olfactory experience in the breakfast hall can only be likened to a retirement home.
The staff is alright, but I've certainly seen friendlier and more professional service at half the price.
