Parador de Granada

We chose to stay here so we could be near the Alhambra. The hotel was nice but I expected it to have a bit more of a historical feel. There seemed to be two sections. The newer section interior was a rather cold and uninteresting modern design. (lobby and dining areas.) The original portion of the parador had much more character with some antiques scattered about. The dining areas were particularly disappointing because they looked like a cafeteria and not a restaurant. More could have been done to keep them in character of the historic nature of the place. The front desk staff was very helpful (especially Felix in guiding us to getting last minute tickets to the Nasrid Palace) Warning: Three weeks ahead of your visit is not enough time to secure tickets. The dinner was quite good in the restaurant but the ambiance lacking. Breakfast was OK. Food was not replenished in a timely fashion and selection/quality of items was much better in other hotels that we stayed in during our two week trip to Spain. Rooms were quite costly for the quality but your are paying for the convenience of being so close to the palace and it was helpful for us given the timing of our entrance tickets.

It was very expensive compared to other paradors. I stayed a basic room which was not a good choice. Room decor is very modern and not very attractive views. It was clean and well maintained though. And the diner time starts 8:15pm, so if you need to eat before, you need to take a taxi or long walk to eat out. There’s no restaurant nearby. I think other paradors would be a better choice to feel time and history.

Ate at the cafeteria during my visit to Alhambra, cannot comment on the hotel. The cafeteria is fine but quite pricey. Paid 15 EUR for a tiny portion of tortilla de patata and a shot of salmorejo, which is quite overpriced!! Rest of the dishes were ok but still very expensive so what it was.

Lunch on the terrace, brilliant. Picked a sunny table after a short wait. The food was excellent as was the service even though it looked understaffed. We really enjoyed a relaxed meal during a busy day at the Alhambra.

The location, set within the grounds of the Alhambra, is of course is exquisite and a delightful tranquil spot away from the tour parties but close up to the palace and gardens. ||What makes this parador even better is the friendly and proactive attention of all the staff. The quality of service from terrace bar, reception and restaurant was excellent. ||A few notes. Watch the you tube video on how to get your car to the car park. Book the Alhambra tickets separately, especially palace and gardens as these are separate to parador and sell out. Finally, walk into Granada, enjoy the cafe culture and cathedral. ||Well done Parador team

In the middle of the Alhambra, there is a refuge and it is the parador. We had a great stay, nice room, good food, friendly people. If you want to have a guided tour through the Alhambra, booking via the parador website means that the guide will pick you up. It is a nice walk to the entrance with already information on the Alhambra

Alhambra was closed due to a severe weather warning. The hotel didn’t bother to tell us before our arrival that we would be imprisoned in the hotel, after knowing since 6am that day. Absolute joke of a service, the arrogance is astonishing for this type of hotel

We had lunch at the restaurant. Clean, good ambiance, and good food. The service was not great, however. The staff appeared overworked and unmotivated. A waiter apologized to us as we were leaving, so I can only hope that the day that we went was not a normal day.
