Reception will give you a printout on the history of the building and on request the keys to the chapel. Visit the battlements and towers for fabulous views too. We stayed in a standard double room, perfectly adequate size. Nice swimming outdoor pool to cool off and relax. Two things could have been better, the air conditioning was noisy and the upholstery had gone on the armchairs. Otherwise excellent and certainly memorable.

Beautiful palace turned hotel. A monument to visit in its own, there are guided tours available. ||Excellent location, beautiful building, large rooms. |Enjoy breakfast al fresco in the patio. ||Very attentive service and remember you get 5% discount on official rates a on the Amigos programme as well as other be white - a complimentary drink at the bar in this case.

Great central location. Cheap parking but very limited. Quick check in. Stunning central courtyard and the bar was cozy and comfortable. We were disappointed with our room. It's an impressive historic converted castle, so no elevators. Access was difficult to our room with steps & narrow stairs, but we were asked if we needed help but declined. If you have mobility issues, it would be a problem. The room smelled musky and needed some TLC. No welcome information, free water, or tea/coffee facility provided. Struggled with wifi & the TV. The mattresses were very hard. The pool was not available, could be seasonable use only. Breakfast was challenging as we weren't sure of the process. Lack of staff caused problems with relaying tables, replenishing buffet food, queues for the one coffee machine, and ordering anything hot. It's a 4* hotel we expected more but had more negatives rather than positives during our one night stay.

You are guaranteed an excellent welcome from friendly staff. Take time to explore all the corners of this historic building beautifully restored, especially the towers which afford good views of Zafra and the surrounding countryside. Afternoon tea in the sunny patio (if you are lucky, I was in mid April) is a delightful experience.

It was an honour and a privilege to be able to stay in such an historic building that was restored and maintained to such a high standard. |The initial impression is carried on inside and in our room (303).|Food and drink were of a high standard and served well by friendly and efficient staff. Reception staff also very good |Parking was €5 per 24 hour payable at reception, not the Parking ticket machine. |What many people fail to realise is that Paradors are fantastic value, especially compared to other countries. |Great stay.

What a wonderful place. I felt very privileged to be able to stay in this 15th-century castle. Walking through reception into the central courtyard is an amazing experience. Usual good quality service and facilities. An unexpected find were the stairs to the battlements which is interesting. Able to park outside the castle which is on the outskirts of the old town and is easily walkable.

We booked a suite which, as we discovered later, was the only suite of the hotel. Plenty of room, royal bedroom and a huge terrace. Bathroom a bit outdated though. Good cuisine, friendly staff.

This four star hotel advertises "Parking Available" but it is street parking without privilege. The neighborhood is filled with bars and restaurants, cars are parked everywhere including sidewalks and illegal places. The front desk has no information on additional parking and told me to "figure it out myself." I didn't expect this attitude at a four star luxury hotel. I ended up parking 1km away in a very dark neighborhood hoping the car would not be broken into or stolen. In short, if you are traveling by car, do not choose this hotel.

Yelp
Located in the castle in Zafra, the location of this hotel is fantastic.we came here during COVID 19 (July 2020), and so there were a few things that were operating differently from normal. I wish they had made a notice on the website about these changes, as I may not have elected to go there if I knew, especially considering that the prices were the same. The most notable change is how the access to the pool is managed. Only as you arrive to the hotel, you are able to book a time slot to use the pool. It is so hot in Zafra in the summer that we had booked a trip here knowing the hotel had a pool and planning to take advantage of it. it was misleading to arrive and find out that the earlier time slots were fully booked and were only able to book our slot for 7pm.
