Paradoxon

"The atmosphere here is pleasantly down-to-earth, and the waitstaff laid-back and friendly. An appealing amuse-bouche of bread and greaves whets the appetite for the modern, seasonal dishes on the menu, such as the saddle of venison served with caramelised chestnuts, chicory and saffron apple. Drinks are self-service – you even mix your own gin and tonic at the bar! Brunch on Saturdays. NB: cash payments only." - Michelin Inspector

This place has such a great vibe: cozy, stylish, and full of character. The staff is super professional and genuinely friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. The 4- or 6-course menu is a fantastic option, and the wine pairing is spot on. Pro tip: don’t leave without trying the hausgemachtes Málaga-Eis with 4cl of 30-year-old Tawny Port. If it’s not included in your menu, trust me: there's always room for one more dessert!

Had a very nice evening here! Food was amazing 0 complaints Service was 10/10 and the concept of just going to the fridge and getting whatever you want yourself was a nice and fun addition Only small complaint i have is that it was a little loud (but the place was fully packed with people) Exept for that everything was perfect If you are searching for a fancy and amazing dining experience 10/10 recomendation from my side!

Really loved our dinner. All the dishes were unique, traditional with a twist. Had the duck, the rib eye, a fish dish and the lamb followed by a vegan, gluten free little cake. Everything was cookrd yo perfection. We got freshly baked bread before our meal and they even had fresh gf quinoa bread for me, which was amazing. The drinks were good so was the atmosphere. Simple interior and decor but cozy. Highly recommend! Coming back for sure.

Meeting the Paradoxon started with my mistake in a reservation. However, it was professionally solved by the administrator and yet offered a table for our show-up time. This credited to a nice impression in the very beginning. All the dishes were remarkably delicious, from appetizers to desserts. The full course is literally cannot be left unfinished, as it tastes very vibrant and makes you try more and more. The dishes are quite small, but typical for haute cuisine serving. It seems they change the menu every now and then, so not surely you can get the same dish you found online. Likely, the chef can surprise you with dishes, if to follow their offered options. We got an attractive and concise menu of 3 options per dish, all were absolutely enjoyable. Thank you for the first-rate service! They don't have a wide assortment of cocktails, but you can choose a drink/bottle from the fridge in front of you. Just a few things make an experience less impressive: cash-only option, controversial interior, close wc location to the kitchen

Interesting food concept, not quite to our tastes, and a bit overpriced. Great atmosphere and superb service.

As mentioned by many people here in the review section, every single piece of food was absolutely delicious. If a sandwich can be this delicious, I cannot imagine how their dinner dishes would taste, probably like heaven. :D The lady who served us was attentive and friendly. The whole experience from the beginning till the end was pleasant. It is such a shame we were on a trip so we could not come back to this place for dinner. If we visit Salzburg again, we will definitely come to this restaurant.

Everything is fantastic in Paradoxon. The waitresses were súper kind, the food was outstanding and the decoration of the place is so beautiful. The chicken would be the dish I’d like to have on my last day on earth. It was just perfect. The maracuja dessert took me back to childhood in a Ratatouille moment. Can't wait to come back

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience with modern, fusion cuisine, Paradoxon is the place to be. Located close to Salzburg old town, you could easily reach the restaurant by foot or by car (there’s a huge parking spot right next to the restaurant) Plus points: I love the food here and the way the chef presented them. You could taste that ingredients in every dishes are high quality products and they were cooked by skilled, complicated techniques in order to bring out the best flavors. So great compliments to the chef and the kitchen’s crew. The service team was very friendly, professional and fast with our dishes. Recommendation: restaurant 4-course menu or 6 if you’re hungry 😉 Minus points: ONLY CASH!!! Please prepare in advance. Whenever it comes to fine dining, the wine paring is as important as the food. Unfortunately, there is no wine card for any references or tasting notes so I’m a bit lost. You have to go the shelves and check the wine yourself, which is kinda cool and they have a great collection btw. Yet, I would prefer to have some tasting descriptions, price point on some kind of reading material or at least from the staff, instead of walking around which might disturb the other guests enjoying their time. Despite the fact that the service was very pleasant, when it comes to wine, they weren’t very helpful and informative. If these points could be improved, I am more than sure this will be my favorite place in Sbg for dining out. That’s why I put 4/5 for improvement and really hope to be back soon.
