If you’re craving legit Filipino food, Paraiso Filipino Resto is worth the trip. I had the sizzling sisig, halo-halo, and a couple of combo meals, and honestly, I left happy and full. The sisig came out still sizzling (and tasting amazing), just the way it should be. The halo-halo reminded me of the ones back home — traditional, not overdone, and really good. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the flavors hit the spot. On top of that, the owner was so much fun to talk to — super friendly with great customer service. You really feel welcome here. Highly recommend if you want that authentic Filipino taste without hopping on a plane going to Cali.

Google
This place was awesome! I assume it was the owner that gave us samples because my wife has never tried Filipino food and the food was DELICIOUS 😛. My wife loved the food. The beef stew meat was heavenly and the cici and chicken adobo were pantastic. It’s Pinoy hebben.

Google
First time and was impressed with the selection of hot food as well as made to order items. Everything looked fresh and smelled wonderful inside. I got a variety of dishes to try. We added on an order of turon and oh my goodness it tasted as good as it looked!

Google
Visiting the area and so glad we came across this restaurant. Food was amazing, and customer service is great. 100% recommend if you want great authentic Filipino food.

Google
Found out they sell made by order crispy pork belly 🔥 im addicted and the filipino food will put you to sleep. 🤤 Being a chef myself. feels good to go to a spot that has authentic food that you know is made from the heart. They sell out food fast. So make sure you get there early if you want something specific. This restaurant does except phone orders

Google
Good grief. The older lady ringing up food was terrible. There is no kind of ordering system. Everything and everybody seemed like they didn’t know what was going on. I ordered the pork adobo and it was so dry and the pacbit was tasteless. I had to put all kinds of sauce on it to make it taste decent. I was so disappointed. For the money I paid for 2 meals and halo halo it was $60. I will NEVER come here again and will tell others hat it’s not worth it.

Google
I want to preface by saying I’m not Filipino and I tried a couple Filipino dishes before I visited this place. I don’t know if this is how they like their food or not but as a non Filipino here is my review. We ordered the chicken and pork adobo with rice, another pork dish, their sausages, fried pork belly, and fried fish. Their sausages were the tastiest and I loved their fish! I’ve had way better adobo before at Hawaii 7/11 though and their rice was almost watery. The pork belly was good but I wish they cut it down to smaller pieces before they fried them. Overall I would say their food didn’t taste good or out of this world at all and I probably won’t ever go back there. We spent a little over $90 on everything I mentioned.

Google
I’ve been going here for years now and have never been disappointed. Taste just like how my mom made it. This is real filipino food. My go to is dinuguan and sisig, never fails. They have bulaklak now! So good !!Owners are very nice people, family ran I believe.

Al K.

Yelp
They are not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, most times it's pack with people. I only caught it once with just a few customers. Food is great, I wish there's more veggies on the menu though. But good selections of desserts.
google avatar

Yelp
Love their food. So fresh, big portion, clean, and the owners are always generous to let me sample different dishes. I do like particular filipino dishes, like chocolate soup (pork blood stew) or pinakbet (assorted vegetable stir fry). And always look for different dishes for the 3rd choice. 3 choice dish is about $18. it's worth for 2 meals. Please try their halohalo. It is one of the bests I've tried in the U.S.

Yelp
my mom ordered this for me while we took the bus from SeaTac airport to back home, and had a stop at the Lakewood Transit Center. food was...okay. Maybe because the nostalgia is not there like when I have my cute momzy's cooking, I do not have a higher rating for the food, but it was okay. Definitely filling. I like that they have chicharron bulaklak available here because I do not see it at any other Filipino restaurants in Washington state. I did not get it, though :( not good for the cholesterol service was really great, though. Filipinos are always great with hospitality because the bright smiles and happy-sounding voices, so I felt so at home here. lots of tables to eat at if you choose to dine here and I like that there were even bakery pastries available for purchase. the ambiance of the restaurant was nothing special, but the people there are what make it special. you just leave the restaurant with that feel-good feeling inside because the kindness that radiates in the attitude and personality from the workers :)

Yelp
Love this little shop, the food is so good and homey and the owners are very kind and welcoming. I have to stop myself from getting a couple of orders of lumpia every time I'm in the area.

Yelp
3 yrs later and I came back for their crispy pata and it's as delicious as it was when I first ate here! The owner and staff are as friendly as before and the food is still amazingly fresh. This time we took food to go and also chose the Dinaguan, fried bangus fish, ginataan of kalabasa or coconut stewed squash. PRO TIP: if you're buying something fried, do not forget to ask for vinegar

Jacinda B.

Yelp
Super good food and service, will definitely be back and will be recommending. Also had the ube and mango cassava, they were absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Babette C.

Yelp
Mom was jonesing for crispy pata so we drove up from Olympia to get some here. She was a little worried as she stood in line and saw that it looked a little undercooked. I told her it would be okay because they would finish frying it after she ordered it so it would be super fresh, which they did. Mom had a blast eating the pig knuckles and the crispy skin. Sis got the adobo pork on rice and it was almost as good as Mom made. There were a lot of people there on a Saturday morning, but not so many that we didn't all have somewhere to sit. The staff is nice and very helpful. They were so kind and respectful to my Mom, which I really appreciate. Have I had better Filipino food? Absolutely, but this is as good as it gets in Tacoma and I appreciate what I got.

Yelp
- Decided to go here because we heard some great recommendations on this place. Sadly, it was a miss for us. The food tasted good but the food was SO cold. Usually it doesn't bother us that it's somewhat cold but the Bicol express was REALLY cold. They just brought it to the front so I expected it to be warm but it wasn't. It's like they just took it out of the fridge. (We would've went to tell them but the line was almost out the door and it was going to take like 30-40 mins just to tell them it's cold food, it wasn't worth it atp) - The flavoring for everything was there but everything wasn't warm and made me think that it wasn't fresh? The Pinakbet was perfect, I love it so much. The Dinuguan is to die for. The chicken afritada was also cold, and we were upset a little. The turon was hard in the middle. We would've brought all these back and get a refund but didn't want to stand in the line (our turon took like 20-30 mins to come out because it was so busy.) -we were upset because all the food came out to the front after we ordered our food? Like they could've let us know that it wasn't the full menu and to wait for 5 more minutes, so we could get other choices. Once the rush came that's when they put out all the food... like how about everyone that came before them? The guy was super friendly and nice, the lady as well. The prices are on the higher side. I want to give this place a try again but honestly the cold food, the long wait, and then them not letting us know that the full menu was going to be out in literally less then 5 minutes is a no for me. Sucks because I really love the flavors.

Yelp
2 scoops of white rice with a meat entree of pork sinigang. Delicious "sabow" (soup) was sour w/ a tart snap back. Hella good flavor!!!Serving portion was little with pork, daikon, bok choy, diced quarter tomatoes. $16 for a one entree plate.
google avatar

Myra C.

Yelp
If you're Pinay, you know every Pinay mama is gonna cook dishes differently. This review is solely for the Sinigang which is out of this world perfect! The right balance of meat, sour and sabao. They had okra in it too and that won me over. It was so good we went back and purchased more to go! A+ Customer service was awesome. A bit of a slow wait in line but the place was packed.

Yelp
I'm so happy my friend introduced me to this hidden gem!!! We were craving halo halo and she told me that we needed to go to Paraiso! She said their food and service were top notch and she was right! The owner was really kind and had a great sense of humor! I'm really picky when it comes to eating Filipino food outside of my family's cooking, but wow... I was impressed! I ordered the kare kare and it hit the spot! Creamy, meat nice and tender, and was so tasty especially with the bagoong! My friend ordered the caldareta and grilled squid which were both delicious too! We also got gulaman and halo halo!!! Both were perfect for a hot day! Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
Food is good, a bit over seasoned. Service it's quick. There is extra charge for using credit card.
google avatar

Johnaye K.

Yelp
I'm an SD native used to authentic Filipino cuisine. This food is incredible! And the customer service is fantastic. Cannot wait to return.

Yelp
Cute spot with a good selection of food items and Filipino items in the store. Workers were very nice, but seemed to get a bit overwhelmed when it was busy. Took a while to be able to check out on the store side. We got the longanisa, tinola, adobo, and dinaguan. They were solid, hit the spot. Puto was a bit small, but really yummy.
google avatar

Moani H.

Yelp
good authentic filipino food! they have a hot line menu and some that you can order off of. this place seems very busy during peak times so i'd recommend calling in your order. if ordering ala carte it can get expensive but pretty big portions so you'll definitely have leftovers. the lechon kewali is amazing! highly recommend that! the pinakbet has so many veggies i loved it. the staff is nice and they have a great selection of sides and desserts! good eating area too if you'd like to sit and eat. right next door there's a small ethnic (mostly filipino and mexican goods) grocery store!
google avatar

Amy A.

Yelp
If you're craving authentic, delicious Filipino food, Paraiso is the place to go! They offer a variety of dishes from the familiar adobo to more complex dishes like kare kare (oxtail stew) and every one we've tried is so tasty! The owners are so kind, hospitable and make everyone feel welcomed. Prices are very reasonable too. The restaurant is decorated with lots of beautiful Filipino art that's fun to look at while you devour your meal. Also check out the Filipino grocery store connected to the restaurant. It's full of products from the Philippines!

Yelp
I had an intense craving for diniguan aka chocolate meat (at least that is what I tell my toddler). So I sought out a Filipino joint that can serve my needs. It's a neat place that serves classic Filipino food cafeteria style. They have drinks and desserts everything you can almost think of bc there is a store connected to it. The service was great, the lady behind the counter was jolly and let us try things we were curious about and explained to us what things were. The food was bomb and fulfilled my cravings. The diniguan (sp) was rich in flavor and had a lil kick of spicy and vinegar. It was just gravy goodness like give it to me in a cup! Sig sig was good I'm just used to it having a bit of spice and the ground beef thing I think it's called picadillo but it's your standard meat and potatoes hearty meal. Not pictured was lumpia and my eating partners meal that consisted of kare kare and adobo and they did it was good. Why 4 stars if everything was good you ask? The price compared to portion we couldn't find it justifiable. Maybe I'm just used to American portions but their portions for the price was small.
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
Personally I wouldn't go back a plate with 3 entrees including pancit was 20.00 ! That's a insane for one person yes they do give you a good amount but it's texture isn't that great the chicken adobo was dry and was not juicy . The sig sig was missing the acid and chili that makes the dish . The pancit was really the only thing I enjoyed and the lumpia wasn't bad but still not worth coming back super disappointing guess I'll have to drive to south center seafood city .

Yelp
The food brought back so many memories! There were many dishes already cooked (options change daily.) and other dishes that can be made to order. The atmosphere reminds me so much of home, and the customer service was top tier. There's also a Filipino based store attached that has many Filipino local favorites. I got the pork sinigang, which had the right amount of sourness and tender meat. Also had the dishes for dine in, and the plates used reminded me of eating at home. (Comfort) The pork adobo and lechon kawali, were absolutely delicious! The lechon was extremely crispy and comes with a vinegary dipping sauce. Had to get some banana turon to go, and wow, they did not disappoint! The crispiness was there, and it wasn't too sweet. Will definitely come by again!

Yelp
The best way to experience this restaurant is to go inside and order when you get there. It's not the kind of place I would call ahead and order from because you need to look at all of the various dishes in the hot case and choose which ones you like. The atmosphere was convivial with several groups of old schoolers and young families alike. The lady with her daughter standing next to us suggested a few dishes that she's had time and again, and we followed her suggestions while adding some of our own. Everything here hit the spot and scratched that itch for Filipino home cooked comfort food. The pork adobo was delicious, as was the shrimp in coconut sauce with green beans and squash. Generous servings and crispy lumpia make this a must-stop if you're in the area and have a craving for Filipino food.

Haygen M.

Yelp
Went here on my lunch and the nicest gentleman working up front added a few samples of things for me to try when I ordered my entrees. Even included one of his favorites. I've been wanting to explore more of what they have to offer heand he did it for me! 100/10.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. The food tasted great and the portion size for the price I was charged for was decent. Ordered the two meat combo that consist of 3 Longanisa and dinuguan along with 2 big scoops of rice. The flavor of the diniguan and the extra sauce on the Longanisa was delicious. I liked how they had the sausage in extra sauce that made it seem like it was smothered in gravy. For dessert, I had the pandan and jelly cup. One of the best Filipino dessert I have ever had. I recommend this place over maresol any day!
google avatar

Paully R.

Yelp
I come here every now and then. Food is authentic and service is great. Price is understandable, slightly more expensive than what it should be. Biggest issue is serving size. You're not getting an appropriate serving size for the amount that you're paying. Very stingy.
google avatar

Ali D.

Yelp
We loooove their fruit salad! I always go here for that! I've also tried their crispy pata and lechon. Although lechon a little pricey. The crispy pata was cooked to perfection, crispy outside and tender inside! Portions are decent, normal size. Food: 7/10. Customer service was ok. It was busy when we went in, but they were doing their best. Athmosphere was small mom and pop vibe. Would recommend if u are in lake wood!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! I lived in Tacoma for 6 years, now and have driven past this restaurant without a thought. If you are ever in need of authentic Filipino food, this is the place! Cute, clean restaurant, adjacent to a Filipino grocery store. The Ate is very nice and sweet, especially for a newcomer like me. They have specials, 10.99 for two entrees over rice. I got the pancit and chicken adobo to go. Everything is flavorful and fresh (piping hot, watch out!) I'll have to try the other dishes next time!
google avatar

Simon L.

Yelp
Best Pino food in Lakewood and the owners are very friendly. They also run a store next foor
google avatar

Jz D.

Yelp
They owned the store connected to the restaurant, its a Waste of time, was waiting for 20 mins and no one helped me with checking out the items at the counter. I asked the guy for help and he just told me to wait. I waited for a while until ive had enough and left. Owner was too busy gossiping. So disappointed with the service. This used to be my go to filipino store and food spot, time to look elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
Really nice employees, solid food, and reasonably priced. Recommend to try this place.
google avatar

Cassandra D.

Yelp
This is the first restaurant Filipino food I've ever had. And I'm obsessed with the soups, and diced up little pork goodness. I'm still familiarizing myself with these delicious dishes- but, my husband and I have eaten there twice in the last month. He loves the chicken lumpia saying it's taken lumpia to the next level. The "cafeteria style" is really special- it's different and allows you to really see the fresh foods that they create in their kitchen. I love the staff- they are attentive, and friendly, and if you want a sample? You get a sample!! The restaurant is small, and busy. I'm excited to go back already!
google avatar

Dajone Z.

Yelp
The food is great and so is the customer service. They're super nice and very welcoming. The prices are a little bit high but that doesn't stop me from getting a lot of food here lol
google avatar

G S.

Yelp
This place is alright 7/10. Taste was pretty authentic. I honestly just don't agree with prices. Ordered Sinigang; Medium and Karekare; Medium and NO RICE. Singang was $13.99 Karekare ( beef, no oxtail) was $14.99. = $28.98 + tax = $30 and some change. Portions aren't the greatest * Let me give you a little tip. If you want good Oxtail Karekare and willing to drive, head down to FIL CUISINE in Kent. You won't regret it. You'll pay just about the same or a few bucks more * You'll pay quality and quantity at Fil cuisine.

Yelp
This place hits the spot when we are craving Filipino food. You won't find fusion-hipster Filipino food here. Not to say they are bad but this girl needs to eat "childhood" food. What you will find here is traditional Filipino food. What I love about this place, besides it being traditional, is that they don't water down their food as I've noticed with other Filipino establishments in this area. Customer service is always on point too. Although there are no signs to determine what dishes are what, the person up front is always willing to explain what it is what and will offer you samples to try. Paraiso is a cafeteria style establishment although you can have certain foods made upon ordering - would this still be considered cafeteria style? Typical premade dishes include longanisa, kare kare (don't forget to ask for bagoong), and sinigang. We've order lechon there a few times too and halo halo but this cold dessert might only be offered during the hotter season. They also have other Filipino dessert options. The food is a little pricey but the price range seems to be across the board anywhere we go to, whether it is Hawaii or Washington. So, grab your spoon and fork and enjoy a little bit of Paraiso.

Tori's C.

Yelp
I have never tried filipino food, but I love trying new foods and I was in the area with a friend. It's easy to overlook because it doesn't look like much from the outside but it's actually very cute and clean inside. the woman behind the counter was very kind and even let us sample several of their most popular dishes before we ordered. after trying them it made if even harder to choose because everything tasted SO good! very glad we stopped to try and take a chance, we definitely will be back.

J M.

Yelp
Authentic Filipino food. Friendly service. Clean seating area. Small Filipino market attached to restauran.
google avatar

Kristyn S.

Yelp
Cafeteria-style with lots of options. I was tempted to order one of everything but settled for what husband and I craved--bangus, balatong and pork adobo. Not sure if the staff member working the counter was the owner but she was so welcoming and made great conversation with us. Even though it was our first time there, talking to her almost felt like I was back home (treating us like we were family). Food was delicious and reminded me of my parents' cooking! She offered us a sample of the grilled pork sisig and we loved it so ended up adding it to our already large order of food (it was just for the two of us). There aren't any Filipino ma-and-pop joints like this in our area but we'll definitely be going back. Their attached store and cute sari-sari is full of imported Filipino goodies. The only problem was that you can't really see it because it looks like they're running out of storage space for all of the goods and boxes they have out. I was like a kid in a candy store--also no crowds like Seafood City.

Yelp
I am an American but, this is the best Halo Halo I have ever had. The caldereta was really good as well. There was another dish that had steak in it, it was yummy as well

Daryl H.

Yelp
I called my order in at 11:00 right when they opened. I called it in so I wouldn't have to wait in the restaurant. I ordered 2 plates of crispy sisig (to go). I got to the restaurant at 11:20 and paid for my order. I was instructed to have a seat since my food wasn't ready. Customers were coming and going while I sat there waiting for my meal. It took almost 40 minutes for them to bring it out. While I was waiting, I saw a cockroach crawling towards me. Absolutely nasty. The food tastes good, but the service is horrendous, and the restaurant obviously isn't clean. I don't know if I'd come back here again. Disappointing because there aren't plenty other Filipino restaurant options around.

Taga E.

Yelp
They are open on Tuesdays now which is a bonus. Let me tell you how impressed I am with Kuya Bogs and Ate Che's children. They are working to give their parents the day off and their flow and customer service is above and beyond. Such a breath of fresh air. Their food is prepared with love and pride. Definitely taste like home each time. Not only can you taste the love in their dishes- the entire vibe of Paraiso is LOVE, Family, wonderful conversation and fire eats down the board. I am so happy we have this gem in the heart of Lakewood going 5 years strong. Salamat, Mahalo Paraiso.

Vicki E.

Yelp
This is my go to spot nearby when I want Filipino food. Love the customer service and food. Some of the food I'm not familiar with but they are always willing to explain what it is. I like how the combo prices are different depending if you get a meat choice or veggie choice. Check out their desserts too. I usually do take out and they ensure to wrap it up good so it doesn't spill. Don't be shy to ask for sauce over your rice.
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
This place is so good. I have only been there once and they were so busy but i decided to wait because I love Filipino food. The gentleman (owner) who helped me told me that they have a rotating menu and vegetarian/vegan options. Food was amazing, it reminded me of the bbqs I would go to in high school at my buddies house. You have to try this place!!!!
google avatar

Carlene M.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to try this place for a long time and I'm so glad that I did. The man running the counter and the staff were all so kind and nice to me. It's clean and pleasant inside. The lumpia was perfect, as was the pancit. I got a little taste of other items and it was all VERY delicious. Thank you, Paraiso Native! I'll be back.

Yelp
This filipino food joint is very good...like being in Manila "turo turo" food joint I ordered kare-kare, lechon kawali and lechon (Cebu Boneless ). The kare-kare was awesome! I love the shrimp paste that goes with it. lechon kawali must be eaten as soon as you get it. Crunchy, tasty, and definetely delicious. reheating is not recommended. Lechon Cebu all around the best tasting fried pork chops in the West Coast. ... don't forget the MANG TOMAS sauce. you guys know what goes along with the lechon, are you kiddin' me.

Cassy B.

Yelp
price is unreasonable already with the amount you're getting. The small container (medium) is 15.99. There are only a couple of dishes that's okay, but the rest are a big NO. Okoy is now $16.99 for 3 pcs.. imagine geting 6 pcs is more than $30? That's a big blow. It's just 1 pc of shrimp and shredded carrots, and some veggies and batter. These owners are opportunistic. They blame it on inflation lol....
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Food was great! Just like I remember it growing up with Filipino friends. Do yourself a favor and go! Generous portions and super nice people.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
We have only eaten here a couple of times, but both times we have...they did not disappoint! The restaurant is a small place and they can get busy at times, but the staff are welcoming and very nice people! We made sure to go on a day where they had a few favorite dishes of ours and it they were all good. The kare kare, the pancit, sisig, and the lumpia were all very good and they made sure to ask us if we wanted the condiments or sauces that went with each dish so that we don't miss out on the full flavors. Now I know there are going to be some snobs who are all "My pancit is better", "thats not how you make lumpia" or "you guys don't even sell ____", but everyone has their own opinions and this is just mine. Go on and give them a chance and formulate your own opinion!

Yelp
This is the second ownership of a Filipino restaurant that my mother and I went to on a regular weekly basis. This newer ownership became a staple for my mother and I because of their consistency, taste and appearance of their entrées! Maresol Filipino cuisine use to be our regular dive but as time went on, their food became inconsistent as far as taste goes. Of course we are of Filipino ethnicity so we had to find a good restaurant to patronize. The top three entrées that I like here are the Dinaguan, the Sisig and (Mung bean soup with pork and spinach, sorry, I don't remember the name of this entree). For health reasons, I prefer certain dishes to be more lean of their meat such as their Dinaguan. The Sisig is nice and crispy (I prefer the spicy option (not being too spicy!) while being chopped up in a smaller size makes chewing a lot easier as opposed to oversized chunks (user friendly so to speak! ). The mung bean soup reminds me of homestyle cooking! Again, being health minded, I find most of the dishes here or not overly salty which can be quite common for Filipino food! Since being concerned about the virus going around and keeping isolated as much as possible, On a sidenote, Iwas able to convince the owners to provide me curbside pick up which they happily did!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite filipino based eatery. Cafeteria style and boy is the food outstanding. Dishes vary day to day, but they have some usual suspects. If you haven't tasted something before, they give you a little taster. You owe it to yourself to try this amazing cuisine. It is very well worth the drive from anywhere, quick easy off easy on location from the I5-512 in Lakewood . Food is always hot, they offer catering. The portions are monster and they always serve with a smile. They just expanded their eatery to offer a sari sari store next to the restaurant. Which is just taking off but what huge convenience for me if I just have to stop once to get my grub on plus get my ingredients for the next meal. Last thing, I started sampling their desserts which are conveniently located next to the cash register. You have to try the Ube cookies with hazelnuts and the chocolate crack cookies. Epic food!

Yelp
I live in the Northern side of town so I am rarely in the area where this place is but I am beyond happy to have discovered it. All the food I've ordered tasted pretty good. As someone who is mindful of the what I eat, for health reasons, I am glad that their vegetable dishes aren't drowning in oil and do not have pork fats allover. I have ordered Grilled Bangus, Monggo, Pinakbet, Embotido, Goat Caldereta, Bangus Sinigang, Beef Nilaga, Halo-Halo, Ube Tres Leches, and Ube Cassava Cake (some for dine in, mostly for to-go). The savory dishes were seasoned just right (not overly salty like most Filipino restaurants) and tasted very authentic yet so not feel unhealthy. The desserts were also not overly sweet. Service was also beyond impressive. Came in on a very busy Sunday lunch time but the owners and servers served everyone promptly, attended to their needs, and did not ignore anybody's questions. As a Filipino who always gets frustrated when Filipino restaurants cannot answer questions of non-Filipino customers who are not very familiar with Filipino dishes, I was happy to see and hear the owners patiently answering non-Filipino customers' questions about the menu items. I'll definitely be back to this place once I'm around the area. Prices were also very affordable and in fact about 30-40% cheaper than what I normally pay for Filipino places in the Northern side of Seattle metro.

Yelp
Filipino - need I say more? So so good. The staff is helpful and with the store next door it adds a little extra
