Parakeet Café in Beverly Hills is a welcome surprise transcending dietary labels. Im not vegan but loved their plant-based menu items and exceptional coffee. The café’s commitment to quality is evident--I love the free soda and filtered water on tap and the real glassware provided for drinks. Enough drinking and eating out of plastic!
The menu is a vibrant tapestry of flavors and textures. The non-Vegan “All I Avo Wanted” dish - blue corn waffle topped with smashed avocado, feta, a perfectly cooked over-easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, and salsa macha, is ahhhmazing. The “Parakeet Bowl,” a hearty mix of brown rice, roasted mushrooms, sesame collard greens, pickled cucumbers, and almond butter miso mayo, offers a satisfying and flavorful experience. For those departing from all veg aspects - the “Best Burger Ever” lives up to its name with grass-fed Australian beef, organic cheddar, caramelized onions, and house-made pickles on a brioche bun...mmhmm.
The beverage selection is equally impressive. Their locally roasted coffee beans shine in drinks like the Honey Cinnamon Latte and the Lavender Matcha Latte. For a wellness boost, the Blue Magic Latte, infused with reishi, ashwagandha, spirulina, and honey vanilla--tasty even though I mainly steer clear of sweet in my coffee.
Parakeet Café’s ambiance is bright, stylish interior (too bright???) with bold parakeet wallpaper that would make my grandma proud. All in all a nice enough and certainly welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In a city loaded with dining options, Parakeet Café sets itself apart with its commitment to quality, sustainability, and flavor. It’s a place where both vegans and non-vegans can find dishes to love, making it a worthy addition to anyone’s list of go-to spots in Beverly Hills.
