My husband and I went on a mystery picnic in LA jolla, and this was one of our stops. We had a summer salad and avocado toast, we also purchased two of their fresh juices. The Ambiance of this Cafe is very fun, beachy, pink, foresty. Their Bakery items also looked amazing. We didn't get a choose our food items as it was part of a preset experience, I did not like the summer salad it was really boring, the avocado toast was actually pretty tasty and they added a good spin with some pink pickled onions. I would however definitely go back to try some of their fresh baked items and other things on their menu.

I would love to come here again to hang out or study! I was immediately drawn by the pink aesthetic of the whole cafe. Everything is very nicely packaged and it felt like a sincere, high-end cafe to visit. I just got a small drip coffee to go, yet I have been convinced to come again when time allows so please await part 2 of this review! So far I can rave about the cute heart stopper that is placed in the to go cups and the cozy, sheek ambiance of the whole place. There was a line in the late morning I came in to visit. Service was still kind and patient with all the different people looking for a nice bite or drink. God bless you all

We recently visited this cafe and had a great time! The place is cute and clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. We had the Belgian waffles and chilaquiles with chicken—both were great! The waffle was flavorful and not dry and the chocolate was perfect amount of sweet, and the chilaquiles had a really tasty salsa verde. We got cappuccinos and appreciated the dairy-free options like oat and almond milk. The server was friendly and attentive, even though the place was busy. Overall, a really good experience—we’d definitely come back.

Google
This is the best coffee shop I have been to in San Diego County. I ordered the salted maple latte breve and it was executed perfectly. The milk was frothed perfectly, the drink tasted amazing, and coffee was good quality. Good vibe and excellent service. Highly recommend and won’t look for other coffee shops in the La Jolla area.

Google
Such a fun creative menu! Gluten free charcoal waffles with homemade nutella, healthy creative bowls, and quick friendly service. A brunch gem

Beautiful interior with every detail carefully thought out makes every visit a true pleasure. The food is not only healthy but also fresh and delicious. And a truly friendly staff leaves me with a smile for the rest of the day 💗☕️

Google
Solid brunch spot with a classic menu. Decent spot overall. Omelette sandwich and eggs Benedict with salmon were excellent. Black waffle was not crunchy. It was pretty soft. Not worth the price tag. Pink lemonade was great with hints of cinnamon and other teas. Cappuccino had an overly burnt flavor. Overall an ok place.

Google
What a cute coffee shop! I loved the vibe of this place. Coffee had a great flavor. It seems to get pretty busy but they have plenty of seating as long as the weather is good. I give this place 5⭐️ Jerry (the piegon) only gives it 4⭐️ .. he’s not a fan of other birds. This is not the cafes fault. 😀🤣🫶

Yelp
Best food & service in La Jolla! Seed oil free , healthy, & tastes delicious! Everything is amazing!

Yelp
After many years of coming here, my favorites are the eggs + salmon bowl and grains + grains bowl. The sauce is always so yummy. Everything from here feels so nourishing and doesn't weigh you down. I always leave feeling really good about myself. The staff always helps me decided on their big menu and is really patient (I get indecisive because everything is so good). The ambiance is young and very cutesy!

Yelp
Cute pink brunch spot in the heart of La Jolla! Less busy then some of the more popular brunch resturants- still a steady amount of customers! There's a small amount of cramped seating indoors, and a little more outdoors, but right in the morning it is COLD- even with heating lamps, it is just super chilly. The parking is also challenging as it is in La Jolla cove, but if you can get over these hurdles, the food is still great the same as other locations. The green scrambled eggs were really good I loved the amount of vegetables with the eggs. The toast with labneh was also delicious. Overally, I would go back to Parakeet Cafe for a cute girly brunch, but maybe not this location.

Yelp
I absolutely adore that they don't use seed oils and only healthy fats. I do think some of the customer service could be better at times. Prices ate high but if they keep the quality high, they'll survive. This is one of their smallest locations that I've been to. Another review as a non elite... in the words of the backstreet boys, " tell me why! Ain't nothing but a heartache... tell me why!"
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty small location! There's about 4 tables walking inside, it's pretty packed. Somewhat busy but people are heading inside and out. Probably not the ideal location for working form your computer. However, this place is so cute and themed pink! Very aesthetic. Even the cups are super cute! The cashiers are very welcoming and always smiling! I ordered the on tap drip coffee. It was OKAY. The coffee tasted a bit sour and a bit watery. Pastries looked amazing!

Yelp
Toasts, delish. Bowls, delish. Baked goods, delish. The service is pretty good, but there can be a line sometimes. Seating can also be a challenge so I take food to go!

Yelp
While I like the food at Parakeet, the service is not good. A few months ago I went there later in the evening and ordered latte and pastries. While the girl behind the counter was taking my order, another girl knocked a glass that was hanging above. The glass fell and shattered next to me on the counter. A piece of glass cut my hand. The girl somehow found it funny and literally laughed. I asked for the band aid, they told me they would look for it. Girls did not apologize for the broken glass that cut me, charged me full price, and never brought the bandage. I was honestly shocked at the whole situation.

Yelp
Very unique menu. Lots of coffee and drink choice. It was hard to pick. Great selection of healthy choices. Cute little place with outdoor seating that's tucked away from the busy village foot traffic and cars. Super cute cups and dishware. Nice and helpful staff. Very attentive. Coffee was strong yet smooth.

Yelp
Prices are a little steep. Squash soup okay, a tad bit on the sweeter side compared to other squash soups I've had. But the consistency is great - velvety and true to a bisque. Avocado toast was meh and the gluten free bread nothing special. Really enjoyed the raw beet spirals, radish, seeds, and crunchy mung beans. Down-side - the avocado was overly smashed, making it a runny consistency??? IMO just use sliced avocado or gently smashed the avocado so it's not like a sauce. Given that the menu item is avocado toast, I'd prefer to actually get avocado and not just a mere smear of avocado "sauce" under the toppings. A handful of tables to sit at inside, but the interior is a very small space. Ample seating outdoors. Staff is great. There's several bakery items to choose from and ample gluten free options :)

Yelp
For me, Parakeet is pretty much a guaranteed great coffee and food experience. I've been there many times. All of their drinks and food is top notch. The ambiance is also great, with its parakeet theme. There are several locations in San Diego, all of which are great.

Yelp
Lovely staff and tasty food. My smoothie was delicious and everything felt filling. Not too busy on a Sunday morning which was a plus

Yelp
Food is 10/10 especially the pastries. The ambience is very relaxed and positive. This cafe reflects the positive and relaxed energy of La Jolla and its residents. The service is 10/10 with kind and pleasant employees. Bathroom is very clean and smells good. People don't trash the bathroom here even though it's a busy and high traffic place. This reflects the beauty of the visitors besides the coffee shop. Definitely will be my top place to visit in La Jolla. Only thing I did not like is they do not have a wifi so I had to go to some neighboring places for a zoom meeting. Overall it's a beautiful place to visit and drink coffee. Positivity is everywhere.

Yelp
The kids I babysit got the fancy waffle with the fruit and whip cream. They also really thought the poop emoji on the bathroom door was hilarious. Very colorful place, with lots of cute parakeets. They also enjoyed the cute plants.
google avatar

Yelp
Great tasting drinks, clean ingredients with minimal artificial flavoring! The baristas are friendly. My regular weekend spot to grab cacao chai latte.

Yelp
My favorite place to have a bite. I have been a fan since Juice Crafters! I have a unique diet and it's very hard to find a place that hits all my don'ts, Parakeet is the one place I can go to and not worry about seed oils, dairy free options, and good to organic ingredients. This is how I eat and cook at home except at parakeet they have a pro chef that makes everything extra, well cooked and what you would expect from a Restaurant. Service is always great! Only thing is this location is super small, but it's also what makes it cozy.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute cafe in La jolla. Everyone is friendly and polite. The esthetic is gorgeous from the wall decor to the plates and coffee cups. It's a great place for coffee or tea and a bite to eat. Great photo opportunities. The only downfall is the pretty squishy inside. You can't help but bump into people to get through. But once you're seated, it's not too bad. The overnight oats are good, and the coffee is delish!

Yelp
Excellent location, what an awesome view the people who work here are able to enjoy! I was going to ask if they were hiring, so nice! I really liked the girl who worked there because she had to put up with me asking to change my drink. I ordered the lemonade but it tasted like water. Really pretty drink and no matter how well she indicated how to mix it...still tasted like nothing to me. So I asked for a cappuccino and it was perfect, so I guess I should stick to my usual drinks. In terms of vibe for me is the terrace. Inside is more plain looking that other coffee shops from this chain.

Yelp
Clean Clean Clean & well Worth the Gluten Free items!! We love the Matcha too...good quality!! Thank you for giving us your best!!

Yelp
The one star is for the delicious Mexican latte which was perfectly sweet and spicy. The food though I can't even begin to tell you the disappointment in our meals. It wasn't just one meal but my husband and I were really shocked at how awful the food was. The presentation and the look of the place overall is so cute. Don't let that cuteness fool you. I'm vegan and eat vegan everywhere I go and this food would completely turn me off of trying Vegan for the first time. We had to ask for salt to try and muster up some type of flavor. That didn't do much. The other thing I noted was that not one person asked how it was or anything even when requesting salt. My Brussels sprouts in my bowl were also not cooked although they were supposed to be grilled. I literally had to chew one for like two minutes to be able to swallow it. I literally would say this place was the biggest let down as the reviews are so good I felt we couldn't go wrong... I was wrong for sure to go here. If you're into healthy bland food with no flavor I would definitely say here is your spot.

Yelp
Food: Ordered the Green Godess juice & it was fresh & tasty! Service: OK Ambiance: small & busy place with healthy smoothies, pressed juices and bowls. A few chairs outside, if you want to sit and drink. Price: Small Juice - $13

Yelp
So happy to find this cafe serving delicious and healthy breakfast & lunch! Will go back asap

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite to eat over the weekend. I enjoyed the Shakshuka that came with a very tasty charred bread. The Green Scrambled Eggs were good, not a ton of flavor, but it had a side of some type of house made cream sauce which was good. I ordered a fresh pressed juice which didn't have a ton of flavor, likely would not order again but I did enjoy my iced latte. The workers on the restaurant side were super friendly and attentive. The workers on the smoothie side were increasingly unhelpful and solely relied on customers using their automated ordering kiosk.

Yelp
Really cute cafe that was perfect for my little brunch date! It's pinky, cute, modern and trendy - perfect for instagram if that's what you're looking for. Warning, there's not a lot of seating so I wouldn't rely on staying here to work - I went during the day on a Friday and almost every table was full. You order up at the counter and get a number where they'll bring you your food/drink. I ordered a greek yogurt bowl and a green juice - this was definitely pricey coming in at $30. The bowl wasn't large, but it was fresh and filling. The perfect start to your day or snack inbetween meals. The green juice was also delicious, and I loved that it came in a glass bottle so I could take any leftovers home. If I lived close by, I would definitely frequent here for fresh and healthy food and juice!
google avatar

Yelp
They follow food expiration seriously as it's baked on site with gluten free and vegan options. They have a juicery in walking distance from flag ship La Jolla location on Silverado in the village. I love the whole concept. Super cute. My favorite is the lavender lemon mimosa. I'd love to work for this Company as I support eating clean and healthy!
google avatar

Katelyn H.

Yelp
Stayed at the connected hotel and wanted a bite to eat before the day started. Service was good and quick, but coffee and matcha drink were just okay. Pastries were pretty good overall, however they don't have food outside this for a "cafe". It is right in the water, which is very beautiful.

Yelp
This cafe and Juice bar STOLE our hearts! A MUST when in San Diego and La Jolla. I mean, WOOOOWWW! We were able to sneak in a quick breakfast before our whale tour at the Little Italy location, and thank goodness we did! My only regret is not visiting every single day for their exceptional breakfast and high-quality juices! I ordered the All I Avo Wanted - Blue corn, waffle, smashed avocado, feta, shaved radish, over easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, salsa macha. I mean, holy moly. The delivery was beautifully executed and built perfectly. The blue corn waffle was moist yet firm. My mother ordered the Shakshuka - another favorite dish of mine that WOWed. You can not go wrong with Parakeet. Thank you to the divine chefs and baristas - you made Parakeet the most beloved restaurant during our time in California!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This Cafe is adorable! I'm obsessed with all the pink. The vibe is so fun. The coffee is incredible, not to mention the stunning designs they make in the froth. They also have all kinds of unique yummy treats I love like taro, cocoa, and meringue. It's a neat spot.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Came here around 11:30 am, it was pretty empty. It's a pretty small restaurant, so we chose to sit outside. The lavender matcha latte was probably one of my favorite matchas ever. The blue corn waffle was also really good--I was skeptical at first but I'm glad I took the server's recommendation. The chicken sandwich was also good, although the chicken was a little too dry. Service was on point!
google avatar

Yelp
Parakeet is a nice little cafe in La Jolla that is a good visit for some coffee and tasty breakfast. They have all the coffee options with some cool latte and specialty coffee twists. They also have a pretty decent menu, all their breakfast options are pretty creative and definitely healthy. The location is awesome as it's right in the center of La Jolla so great for a morning stop before walking around. The only downside I've experienced is when there is rainy days, the inside seating is super limited. They have tons of outside seating so that's really the only case it feels cramped. Overall though definitely worth a visit and would totally recommend!
google avatar

Lacy D.

Yelp
Avo toast is so good! The tomatoes are plentiful and super tasty. The coffee was also lovely (cold brew), and sitting outside just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine is perfection. Fantastic spot for a chill Sunday with the girls.
google avatar

Maricelle C.

Yelp
Came here after a lovely beach day at La Jolla Shores. The location closer to the beach was closed so we came to this location. I'm glad we did because we would not have met Shelby, one of the staff working there. She was so kind, welcoming, patient and friendly. She made our experience a great one. I was pleasantly surprised to see a good variety of gluten free pastries. They even had a gluten free eclair. I got a slice of gf zucchini nut loaf, which was delicious and had a good texture. I also got a gf oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and another slice of the gf zucchini loaf for one of my daughters, who loved them both. I enjoyed my cafe americano. The aesthetics and decor are cute, too, with a birds of a feather theme. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a wonderful experience, great service and delectable pastries and coffee!

Yelp
Needed a very light snack and ended up here. I tried their Overnight Oats for $12 and it came out in a pretty presentation. It had plenty of oats and chia pudding which was filling and a lot of strawberries, blueberries, walnuts, bananas and even some mint leaves. Walnuts added nice crunchy texture. Tasted fresh... but everything ended up bitter after awhile and was very filling so I couldn't finish it. The cafe itself is small with some tables inside and more outside. I suggest outdoor seating. Service was good
google avatar

Alisa D.

Yelp
Wish I could bring this place home with me. Dairy free and gluten free options, sign me up!
google avatar

Alexander H.

Yelp
The Mayan Mocha was basic af, I hope if I order something else next time it's better. The avocado toast was pretty good, they should cut it in half though as it's quite big to be shoveling into your mouth. The Belgian waffle, which wasn't cheap, was super tasty with fresh fruit, different sauces, and even flowers which yea I did eat. 2 avocado toast, 1 waffle, and 2 lattes was $75...a bit overpriced I think. Ordered at the counter and they brought it out, service wasn't bad. The place overall was pretty busy with a good amount of seating but not enough for a large group unless you split up tables I guess.
google avatar

Kathy T.

Yelp
I've been here twice - first time trying a lemonade and second time their iced mint matcha latte. I requested extra matcha and the matcha flavor wasn't super strong but still good. They have a little patio that gives you an amazing view of La Jolla Cove! If you're looking to study here, they don't have any wifi, but it's a great place to read a book :) Definitely recommend Parakeet Cafe if you're strolling around La Jolla and want to stop by somewhere for a bev or a pastry!
google avatar

Emma M.

Yelp
AMAZING coffee, and of course the view is absolutely spectacular. Right across from the cliffs and sea lions. There was no wait and the place was pretty empty. I didn't try their food but I wish I did. Would go back just for the coffee though.
google avatar

Aseel K.

Yelp
Amazing service and delicious food!! A ton of parking near by and Infront of the cafe! Small indoor seating but it's so cute and aesthetic for pictures. They have booths and stools to sit on and their surprisingly comfortable. The honey cinnamon latte is my favorite!! Their food and pastries are so good! Their iced matcha with mint is also really good! The staff is so friendly! Everyone jokes around and remembers you even if you've only been there a few times.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped my parakeet for the first time, the service was great from the start with a warm welcome from the register person. After we asked a million questions the young lady (Marina) working behind the coffee bar recommended we try the turmeric latte based on what we said we liked. She nailed it with the recommendation, this was one of the best lattes I've ever had. Not only was it delicious but so beautiful too, Marina took the time to make a beautiful design, I almost didn't want to drink them. I wish I got the girls name at the register but thank you to both of them for their hospitality and recommendations. Definitely coming back to this location to see what other goodies we can try!
google avatar

Lene V.

Yelp
It was ok :) I ordered for my team and even tipped ahead of time on Grubhub, but that didn't make a difference, I still had to label each of my dishes myself. I guess they don't do that service even if you ask.
google avatar

Paula C.

Yelp
Very cute little cafe. The staff was great. I ordered an olive oil cake, and the honey cinnamon latte. Both items were delicious and the overall vibe of this place was great!

Barbara C.

Yelp
The coffee is amazing! Both the aroma and the way is served ( Italian style). They have amazing gf pastries. The service is outstanding.
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
The cups are out of Legally Blonde. Love it! There seems to be another Parakeet Cafe nearby, which does serve food (this establishment is drinks only). We ordered the Ceremonial Matcha Tea, which is a higher grade than regular matcha tea. It's very similar to authentic matcha, with the iconic bitterness taste.
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
My daughter and I were in La Jolla and wanted to try a new coffee shop. We came across this place and were glad we did.Parakeet is in a great location with seating inside and outside. My daughter got the croissant sandwich and I got a chocolate croissant. She loved the sandwich and said the flavor was delicious. She got the iced chai and thought it was just ok. I got the vanilla latte with oat milk and cinnamon and it was delicious! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Great spot and we will be back!
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Got the berry cacao waffle, It looked very pretty and was no doubt very healthy, with coconut yogurt, homemade blueberry compote, fresh berries and chia seeds. The waffle wasn't crispy and i guess not as sweet as a normal waffle so i didn't enjoy it as much as a regular waffle with syrup. I guess parakeet cafe is more for the heathy minded, it was by no means bad just not my thing. If you're health conscious and want something thats good for you this is your place. I'd maybe come back to try something else, but the prices were kinda high so i probably wouldn't. If you're looking for something healthy and fresh then you're probably used to paying these prices. Im guessing the same clientele as Whole Foods.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious healthy breakfast food right next to La Jolla Shores! There are so many things that I love about this place. They have so many yummy breakfast options including cheesy puddings, eggs scrambled, waffles and pancakes, and other sandwiches. for the drinks they have lots of matcha combinations as well as coffee drinks and they also serve mimosas. 10/10 !!!
google avatar

Karla R.

Yelp
A super cute cafe that makes for nice photo ops. I'd say that, paired with their beverages, are the most noteworthy things about Parakeet Cafe. There's a fair amount of seating inside and outdoors, but this cafe is kind of small and narrow, so I wouldn't recommend it for any groups larger than 4 people. My friend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and were able to order quickly and get a table just as fast. We got our order fairly quickly, too, and my meal was OK! I ordered the breakfast sandwich and thought it was hearty. It was a little lackluster for my liking, so it's not something I'd get again or recommend. My drink, however was refreshing!! The rose latte was garnished with actual rose petals, so I thought that was a sweet touch. Decor - 5/5 Rose latte - 4/5 Breakfast sandwich - 2/5 Seating - 3/5

Yelp
I love parakeet cafe. I had the most amazing bowl here and I can't stop thinking about it. My partner had the Thai Vegan Bowl and I had the Parakeet Bowl. The staff was so friendly and informative and let us know what to avoid concerning spice because my partner has to avoid it. The Thai bowl is a little more sweet than I like but my partner LOVED IT! I really wanted to try the Vegan Carne Asada bowl but was told it was spicy and I didn't want spicy that day. The carne asada is oyster mushrooms which are a favorite so I will definitely try another time. Give parakeet cafe a try. Seating is limited inside and out but the food is so good. I just get mine to go.
google avatar

Alexus S.

Yelp
Sad that they didn't have food and matcha latte was ok (tasted really milky) but the service and views were on point! I also like that they have a wide variety of drinks including: coffee, tea drinks, alcohol, mock tails, smoothies and wellness drinks. I'd definitely recommend if you're coming for a drink and views of the ocean- there's plenty of seating and it never got too busy to comfortably sit! Again, I just wish they had some food or even snacks.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot for smoothies in San Diego/La Jolla. Great fresh ingredients and tons of options for protein powder, chia seeds, etc.
