Parcs Review - Melbourne - The Infatuation

"It’s all about the Umami e Pepe at this low-waste city eatery. The satisfyingly savory take on cacio e pepe subs out pasta for Hokkien noodles and cheese for red miso that's made from leftover bread trimmings instead of the usual soybeans. It’s an excellent example of the flavor-filled, low-waste cooking Parcs does so well, and the low-environmental-impact philosophy that drives it all. In line with this, the drinks list is dominated by minimal-intervention Aussie drops at very decent prices. Parcs (“scrap” backwards) is popular, with just 20 seats and no bookings, so it always feels like a win to score a table." - Ellen Fraser

The amusement park is situated approximately 1 hour drive from Paris. It has an ample parking lot for cars. The coach park is big but a little confusing to navigate to it if it's your first time here, but it's next to the entrance to the park. Also here is the shuttle bus stop. The staff all speak English. If coming with groups the ticket check goes nicely with few minutes waiting. The park is big and you can find all sorts of rides from smooth ones to nice challenging roller coasters. The restaurants inside are ok but some of them should give more quality food compared to the price per meal. The park is clean and tidy and using the map is easy to navigate between the rides. The Gaul - Roman match show in the Arena is interesting but not really worth it. Can spend an entire day and still not visit every corner of the park. Beside the rides you can enjoy nice walks or relaxing next to the lake. Really recommend visiting the amusement park with friends and family. Wheel chair users can easily move around the park.

Great theme park, with an attention to the theme throughout the park and each area. The staff were obviously happy at work and had fun with the visitors. It was hot the day we visited and the staff had water pistols, a great fun addition to the queue. The park was very clean and well looked after, the rides all worked all of the day. My only negative is that Toutatis was not operating all day and no one seemed to be able to tell us why. We will definitely be coming back.

I’ll admit I wasn’t sure what to expect because I’ve never heard of Asterix until I decided to go here for a day and I’m a Disney theme park fan having been all around the world. I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean, well themed, fun, and what exciting rides this park had to offer. The admission was a good price and I paid for three rides using the day of Skip the line pass for €10 each. Highly recommended for something different. If you’ve never been here, I made sure to watch some of the cartoons before coming to the park so I could truly appreciate it and was glad I did.

Very nice park for family and children i think almost better than Disneyland so many rides and places for picnic and and less expensive than Disney park. I would recommend it to anyone. Dale

Lovely park, well thought out and nice attention to detail. Plenty of rides to choose from and wait times were fairly decent with kids rides no wait times, character meets were good and small queue time, bought a photo altogether little expensive was decent. Didn't do the shows as was in french as expected obviously. Car park was expensive at €20 and was a little rough looking surprisingly. Was disappointed that our eldest daughter couldn't go on some rides as she was 88cm and needed to be 90 so was refuses entry, some of these rides would have easily been fine. Some of the restaurants were closed which was very annoying especially on a very hot day when you expect them to be open. Spent the day but easily could of done with an extra day.

Great! I just wish there were more English translations. It was difficult at times. I also wanted to buy English comic books, but I only saw 1 and it was $8 higher than Amazon, which didn't make any sense

Very nice amusement park. 1 star less due to long waiting for the attractions for adults. It’s ok for children attractions. My kids loved this place.

The most beautiful park I’ve ever been to in my life — and at the same time, the most stressful. I bought the fastest and most expensive fast pass they offered — the Unlimited one — but the park staff have no idea how it works. They kept asking me to show the app, but the app doesn’t work. It won’t open, it won’t connect, I can’t access my account, and the English version doesn’t function properly. The lady at the reception in the morning told me I didn’t need the app, but when I tried to use the fast pass at the attractions, they asked for it every single time — and it just doesn’t work. So what’s the point of offering something that doesn’t work? It would be better to go back to paper fast passes. At least that’s honest. The park is super cute and I really wanted to spend the whole day there, but there were so many frustrating little things that we ended up leaving by 11 a.m.

Yelp
C'est le meilleur parc sur terre!! :) I really enjoyed visiting Parc Astérix three summers ago, not trying to measure it up to Disneyland or American equivalents, but as a uniquely French amusement park, rather off the beaten path for two Americans. It took us forever to get there since the shuttle never picked us up at the Louvre due to rain, we trekked it to Charles de Gaulle and caught the charter bus from there. Soaked in rolled up jeans, flip flops and "100% anti pluie" ponchos, we had a blast sipping on tall cans of 1664 and running around the amusement park. There are plenty of old, Romanesque statues and plenty of photo opps. Lots of fun rides for families and people of any age, and it felt very safe. And the gift shop sold HOOKAHS. Tell me where you'd find that in les États-Unis! Way worth the bus ride out there from Paris!

Yelp
Skip Disney, this place is so much fun and a real French experience. But beware! The local bus system from CDG airport blows so hard it's a hurricane! Do yourself a huge favor and uber from CDG to the Parc. The food is about standard and the treats are great. And beer! But don't forget to Uber!

Yelp
This one's kind o' tough. I had fun but they seemed like they were phoning it in. First the hours. On weekdays during summer they close at 6 o'clock. During summer it stays light so long that most European women haven't decided what they're serving for dinner until 8:00. But this place closes at 6:00. Earns 'em triple bonus points on the looser-ometer. And the height restrictions. Ugh. They've got this height chart posted all over the park that breaks kid's heights into three categories. Kiddie rides only, Must be accompanied and Can ride unaccompanied. Both kids are Must ride accompanied or taller so we're golden. Dad can take his kiddos on everything! Until we show up to one of the more fun looking rides a discover that they've got a totally different height chart. Now neither of the girls are tall enough. Come on! It was stupid and a serious buzz kill. The best ride of the park was the Hydra. We ran most of the way over there and ended up being the last group of riders for the day. This thing spins you around and hops you up and down so smoothly that I was squealing like and idiot for a solid 5 minutes. And the fact that my little girls were right there with me? What a joy. And an awesome way to end the day. Park's closed, I carry my littlest one to the parking lot and think "Hey, only an hour and a half til dinner."

Yelp
We visited this theme park on the way back from a holiday in Austria and for my teenagers it was the highlight of the holiday. This is Frances biggest theme parc and has some great roller coasters. There are attractions to suit everyone from rides for little ones to shows such as a dolphin show for people who don't want to ride coasters. They have some unusual rides here such as a toboggan type roller coaster/ slide. I have never seen anything like this anywhere else but it was good fun. They also have some large wooden roller coasters which were quite scary just because of the noise they made. One thing to note is that they do not speak much English here, so if you need your teenager to practise his French this is the place to come. A good theme park.

Yelp
When I was learning French in school, we used the Asterix and Obelix comics. I was thrilled to learn of this theme park. My husband (who does not speak French) and I were totally enchanted! Also loved the roller coasters. Easy to take their shuttle bus from the Louvre parking garage to the park and back. Totally enjoyable day!

Yelp
Great fun. The cost was surprisingly cheap across the park. LOTS of roller coasters. Pretty clean particularly considering it is in the Paris area. Asterix and Obelix made the rounds and the themed rides were fun. We arrived at opening and two of the rides had about a 45 minute wait. After lunch the lines disappeared and even the high end rides had short lines. We were able to do Goudurix roller coaster 2 times in a row with no line the 2nd.

Yelp
This place is the best for those who love the larger theme park rides. Not much English is spoken on site, but you can get around with the basics. Not too difficult to find and parking is reasonable. Older kids, and big kids at heart, love this place and there is also plenty for younger children to do.

Yelp
This is a great theme park! It has lots of rides for kids and some of the most impressive rollercoaster in France like tonnerre de Zeus. The park tickets aren t really expensive and it is really easy to go there from Paris or even from the airport! The only bad point it s the park is closed on certain period of the year but it s explained because most of the rides are outside.
