Really charming French restaurant in Bankers hill. The bread and olive tapanade were deliciously salty. The pate was delectable and luscious. French onion soup was on point and rich with flavor. Salmon was rich and inviting. The duck breast was flavorful but a bit chewy. However, the duck leg was tender and savory. They have a great happy hour menu and on a Sunday! Who has happy hour on a Sunday. Looking forward to returning.

On my birthday I was treated to dinner here and it was a wonderful meal. I had escargot and beef tartar for the first time and it was delicious. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. Over all a great birthday meal.

My fiance's birthday was last weekend in this weekend for one of her to do was to eat at a French restaurant being that she's half French and half Egyptian. I always talked about her Grandma's French cooking. We searched on Google near the location we were at and this place came up. Made a reservation immediately. Arrived to the location parking wasn't an issue was seated quickly the vibe was nice the ambiance was awesome the food was good and our server Courtney was the bomb.com!!! We are fans and definitely will be back again. Bravo 👌🏽👏🏽

Ate a yummy brunch at Parc Bistro-Brasserie! Beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat on the dog friendly patio. We started with the ahi tuna tartare and for mains had the crabmeat omelette and blackened salmon sandwich with a Belgian waffle on the side. The food was great. Excellent, attentive, and friendly service. Recommend!

Dined at this cute little French bistro on a Saturday afternoon with family! Food was delicious and the staff was extraordinary. We were served by an amazing team Umberto the manager, and servers/assistants Jen, Robert, Eduardo, and Anthony. As a team they made our experience amazing. Walking out the door, I think every single person who worked there acknowledged us and we’re genuinely hospitable. I called back another day and spoke with Umberto and he guided me to a link to buy the cute little lamps that they had on their tables that we so wanted. Thank you team for going above and beyond and making our experience extraordinary. Best, Laura Lisa

My husband and I had dinner at Parc. I ordered the fillet medallions and they tasted delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were amazing. I also really liked the French onion soup and the complementary bread they give you. I strongly recommend this place for a nice dinner night

Google
Great French Restaurant for a Delicious Dinner! We really liked the atmosphere and service at this place. We ordered the Wagyu Beef Tartare and Ballotine De Poulet Farcie, and both dishes were tasty. The beef tartare was delicious—I really liked how the meat was seasoned and presented. The Ballotine De Poulet Farcie was an amazing dish that I highly recommend. It’s a stuffed chicken breast served with mashed potatoes, and the flavors were just perfect.

Google
Parc Bistro-Brasserie is a fantastic spot! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm and inviting, with a classic French bistro charm. The service is top-notch—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is outstanding! Every dish is beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The escargot and steak frites were perfectly executed, and the seafood options were incredibly fresh. Their wine selection is excellent and pairs perfectly with the menu. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner, a special occasion spot, or just a fantastic meal, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Yelp
Today a group of 12 from the Senior Residence where I live arranged brunch at La Parc. The food was exceptional. We of course had a variety of entrees but all were well pleased with their choices. Standouts included the Quiche Lorraine and the Mussels. Those who ordered the various salads also thought them very good. Our waiter was impeccable and took excellent care of our large group. Everyone commented on his professionalism and pleasant demeanor. The restaurant itself has a great ambiance. We hope to return soon.

Yelp
Delightful Happy Hour before an Organ Concert in Balboa Park. The Happy Hour menu is quite nice with over a dozen items. Happy Hour is served in the bar and at the outdoor tables, which is our preference. The restaurant interior is quite nice and reminiscent of being in Paris. This evening, we enjoyed the Seared Ahi Sliders (4/5 2/$14) and the Tarte Flambeé (5/5 $12). The Tarte is a crispy flatbread topped with French ham, caramelized onions and Emmental cheese. Quite tasty! My favorite cocktail here is the Blood Orange Old Fashioned (5/5 $12.00). Perfection. Street parking only.

Yelp
Good location if you are going to anything in Balboa park. They have a good happy hour. The food is really good. They do run out of things. They allow dogs on the patio. The service is slow if they are busy. There is plenty of seating inside and out and seating at the bar.

Yelp
I love Parc Bistro- Brasserie. It is my favorite restaurant San Diego. The food is consistently good and not over priced. The tables have tablecloth, the ambiance is nice, the servers are friendly. I hope I could come more often!! Keep it like this!

Yelp
Oh la la! What a delightful experience it was to dine early at this charming establishment! My friend and I sat on the patio, soaking in the ambiance as we indulged in the delectable French cuisine, from the appetizers to the desserts. The attentive service from our server added to the nostalgia of the moment. Having passed by this place countless times, given its proximity to my office just a few blocks away, I find myself drawn to its allure. I look forward to revisiting in the future, as each visit evokes a sense of nostalgia that transports me to Europe in the most elegant and gourmet way possible.

Yelp
June 15, 2024 for 10 AM brunch for just myself, with a reservation. - Superb service by server Melina, so sweet, friendly, attentive but not overbearing. A true joy. - Traditional Eggs Benedict with the most scrumptious hollandaise sauce I've had in a very long time. Over abundant fruit bowl with extremely fresh and flavorful fruit. Great coffee with multiple warm-ups. Atmosphere was quieter at 10:00 AM but gained music and liveliness at 11:00 AM when more patrons arrived. Spacious interior with curtained private room in the back. Wi-Fi available, beautiful interior, easily wheelchair accessible front entry and spacious single gender-neutral bathrooms. Indoor and covered/shaded sidewalk seating. Street metered parking. My first time here, however, it is now confirmed as one of my favorite brunch spots. I look forward to returning.

Yelp
The ambiance has been on point as I've come in several times since 2018. I work in the restaurant industry. I understand food and beverage service gone bad! In this particular incident as a customer, when you sit down at a table, your server needs to come to the table, no more than 7 minutes after being seated. And if they can't, send over another server, or an MC (owner, floor captain or beverage mngr) to create rapport, talk about the menu and get the drink order. We learned that our server was acting as Bartender in addition to having a group of tables that she also had to service. That's asking a lot of one person to do 2 roles.

Yelp
The service was amazing and the food was good. My favorite item from our meal was the fresh burrata.

Yelp
Went here for girls day bday brunch on 4/3. The restaurant is very cute and quaint. Our server was Cameron and he was Awesome! We ordered the bottomless mimosas and my glass was never empty. The food was also really good. We really enjoyed ourselves. If you are looking for a turn up spot, this isn't really that, but they do play music and you can have a good time. I took a star away because someone had their dog INSIDE sitting at the bar and it was barking. That is a no no for me. Pets should not be sitting at the bar barking disturbing other people. Other than that, I enjoyed myself and would recommend.

Yelp
The food and service at Parc was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and they made it perfect. We both loved all our dishes and the ambiance of the restaurant was so romantic and beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Came here a looong time ago for restaurant week and remembered it being good. Finally came back for Thanksgiving with my family and it was an all around great experience. We brought our 4 year old and she was given Wiki Stix to play with which were a step up from crayons for sure. It kept her entertained for quite a while, which we appreciated. All the food was great from the bread to the dessert. The one item I wasn't totally in love with was actually my butternut squash soup which was seasoned differently than I expected and was pretty strong in flavor which I feel is unusual. Surprisingly my kid LOVED it. As my dad Paul D mentioned in his review, her chicken strips were great. They were actually breaded chicken that was sliced after, which was very good quality. She loved it with the house ranch. My salmon en croute with scallop mousse and asparagus was exceptional. Insanely buttery, even taking into account the puff pastry. It was perfectly cooked (barely done salmon inside that was super moist) and utterly decadent. Same with the chocolate marquise that was super satisfying for anyone craving chocolate. My husband's trout was perfection as well. It was completely deboned, tender, with a crispy skin my kid couldn't get enough of. The service was friendly and good, the ambience was nice, the food was perfect, and the price was fair. We will have to come back more often. Even though it's in Hillcrest the parking isn't that bad, especially if you go early.

Yelp
Great brunch experience here at Parc Bistro, be sure to make a reservation for weekends. As a starter, we got the pastry basket which has the standard pastries you'd expect with some good jam. We ordered the crab omelet, mussels and both were delicious, highly recommend the omelet with something savory like a bloody mary. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake and i wish i could take a pint of that vanilla gelato home! This place has some good reviews for dinner service as well and I'll for add an update for that soon.

Yelp
I have been coming to this spot since 2021. Their burrata is the biggest thing I recommend off the appetizers, it is the best burrata I've found in San Diego, even as a frequent diner in Little Italy. I also highly recommend the French Onion Soup. You did not dine here if you did not order it. As for my entree, I always go for the seared ahi, but their medallions are heavenly also. Above all else, I come back for the service. Courtney was my waitress today and she gave us phenomenal care and attention, which is what drove me to make this review. I will always be a diner here because of employees like her. Knowledgeable about the menu, quick on her feet, and fun to chat with. I will always recommend this hidden gem!

Yelp
Located in bankers hill a block away from Balboa park is Parc Bistro. A nice little French spot with some nice indoor and outdoor seating options. We like to come here and sit outside for brunch. Sometimes with the pups and sometimes without. Some of the items we have enjoyed are: Short Rib Hash - the cast iron dish was still sizzling when the 18hr braised beef short ribs served with roasted potatoes and caramelized onions topped fried egg arrived. Very rich dish, but it made my friend keep eating long after she was full. 2 Eggs Any Style - which I got scrambled with bacon, toast and oven-roasted breakfast potatoes. Classic option. Tuna Niçoise Salad - seared Ahi tuna, mixed greens, olives, fingerling potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, and a hard-boiled egg tossed in shallot vinaigrette. This one is one of my BF's favorites that he suggests coming here just because he is craving this salad. Smoked Salmon crepe - chunks of smoked salmon with Swiss cheese and chives in a crepe bathed in a béchamel. My BF thought it was good. He said it was richer than he originally expected, but it was exactly as described so he should have expected it to be more rich.

Yelp
What we ordered | wagyu beef tartare | oven roasted rack of lamb | wild mushroom ravioli Taste | the tartare was good. lamb had a nice flavor and was tender. enjoyed the vegetables and mashed potatoes as part of the dish. my favorite was the mushroom ravioli. sauce was creamy and just overall a great dish. Yelp
One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I got bottomless mimosas and the short rib Benedict and oh wow! That Benedict was by far the best one I've had in my life. Best sauce, amazing tender short rib, and even the muffin it was on was shockingly awesome. Potatoes were super flavorful and I enjoyed stealing some of my husband's fries as those skinny fries are my favorite and these ones were exceptionally good. Service was friendly and prompt. And obviously her recommendation of the bene was spot on. Can't wait to return for breakfast but also would love to try their dinner now that we know how good everything we tried so far is.

Yelp
I was taken here for a late Birthday dinner and I am glad that we ventured out to try a new spot! Parc Bistro was very easy to find- we Ubered so I am unsure of the parking situation. Very cute location, indoor seating and outdoor. The indoor area had low lighting, giving the atmosphere a very cozy and romantic feel. We went on a Thursday and were pleasantly surprised to find out that there was live music! My roommate and I sat at the bar and were promptly greeted and made to feel very welcome. We ordered the Tuna Tartare- tuna was fresh and it came with won ton chips and the Barrata- ugh, how can you go wrong- to start. PHENOMINAL. Our main dish was the Duck- you absolutely must when one wants the full French Experience. Overall, we loved the restaurant, the prompt and friendly service and we will return!

Unbelievable food and incredible service! We stumbled upon this place on a vacation. The food and service was so good we came back the next night.

Yelp
What a delicious restaurant. This restaurant is a rare gem in San Diego . We had the steak frites, lamb, and mussels . All our meals were absolutely divine . Service was impeccable. We will be back soon! Highly recommend

Yelp
Stopped at Parc over the weekend and had a wonderful time. From the service to the food everything was amazing. We ordered several French classics like escargot and it got my French boyfriends stamp of approval. I ordered the mussels which were really flavorful. Our waiter Julian was great and gave awesome recommendations. After dinner we stayed for the live music, Carlos is so talented! The ambiance of the whole place truly feels very intimate and cozy. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I cried tears of joy while eating my filet minon medallions. The met was so tender, cooked to perfection and the whole dish was perfectly composed with procuitto mashed potatoes, crispy tender green beans and a to die for mushroom sauce. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We just had a drink and dessert here and it was amazing. Sat at the bar and it was like being in Paris... except the service was amazing! Shout out Jacqueline who is the best and thank you to the rest of the staff!

Yelp
Very nice evening.,, first time here. Small restaurant hidden in Bankers Hill (off of fourth ave/the old Croce's) The lighting in the evening is very dark, little hard to see the menu .. I ordered two martinis and suffered through (that's my story. And I'm sticking to it).,, It would have been nice and needed to have some ambience music playing in the background. At least till the band shows up, , That would've been nice . Maybe hear some French , jazz, instrumental, to counteract that loud chatter throughout. Service was amazing and the food was fresh. My dish needed a little salt however, it was really rich and delish. Im so lucky to live in a neighborhood with high end restaurants. This is one of them. I'll be back. Thanks for the full belly.

Yelp
Great food, great ambience, great service! Lovely to sit outside on the patio. They had a really nice array of healthy options to choose from and the food felt high quality. I got their beet salad with delicious jumbo shrimp!

Yelp

Yelp
The food was below average. Went for Mother's Day and it was a prix fixe menu for $98 which was unmarked. The kid's menu was $29. Steak frites and duck confit were not part of the prix fixe menu. Had their escargot and crab bisque to start. They were not up to par to the 4.5 rating from yelp. I also felt like it wasn't anything special to warrant these prices. Our service was okay. My husband had the rack of lamb and it was nice. My dish was a filet mignon with mushroom sauce and it was chewy. Ordered medium rare and couldn't even finish the plate. The only dish that appealed to me was the mousse dessert. We ended up having to go to the hostess stand to look for our waitress to get our check. I've had far better French food elsewhere in SD with better service and prices. I wouldn't come back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Just had a wonderful brunch here at Parc Bistro. The ambiance and decor is nice and the food was delicious! Even the kids meals were made with high quality ingredients. Ask for a side of fig jam to go with your croque monsieur. The dinner menu looks delicious as well. We'll need to come back to try it.

Yelp
A beautiful interior, excellent meal and FANTASTIC Melina!!! Melina was so incredibly personable, warm and engaging. She made our experience such a delight! I took two friends who have never been and I am happy I did. We had a lovely time and fun memories were made! Thank You Parc!

Yelp
Enjoyed an early dinner on a Tuesday night. Had great service with Melina and great food all around.

Yelp
We frequently come to Parc Bistro for brunch on Sunday. We are never disappointed. The service is excellent, attentive and professional but not intrusive. We appreciate Melina as her smile and warm personality makes the morning extra special. The food is superb and an excellent value. This is a jewel in San Diego.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant 3 times over the years, which is saying a lot, because I rarely frequent 'fancy special-occasion downtown restaurants' more than once. We came to celebrate a birthday lunch. The vegetable dish that I ordered was absolutely delicious. They were also kind enough to bring complimentary bread with butter and tapenade as well as a meringue birthday dessert. Service was decent, although not overly bubbly/personable. Prices are fairly standard for today, but a little too pricey. (i.e. Lunch menu slice of quiche with baby salad greens, $25, Feb 2024). The bar towards the front of the restaurant is attractive. The restrooms were stylish and clean, even my MIL commented on them. One downside is the street parking, either metered or free if you can find it.

Yelp
Took my family here last night for Mother's Day dinner. They had three course pre fixe menu for $98 pp which was not listed on the menu. The kids pre fixe menu was $28 main and a dessert. We sat outside on the patio because it was beautiful and we thought the dinner was going to be the same. But we were WRONG! the service was terrible. I had to get up three times to get our waitress. We were the only one in the patio area and the place wasn't even packed (probably because of the overpriced $98 pp pre fixe). The food: my rack of lamb came out half a rack of lamb. It wasn't bad but nothing spectacular. My wife ordered some beef dish that looks like Boeuf Bourguignon that was on the pre fixe. That beef was chewy and she didn't like it. My kids got the most overpriced chicken tenders with fries and they didn't even finish it. HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE DUCK CONFIT on the $98 pp menu at a "FRENCH" restaurant?? Managers and Owner: Please tell your staff members to not forget about us folks in the patio. Since it's Mother's Day, it doesn't hurt to do something special for the moms. Maybe give out a rose or a complimentary glass of champagne. You know, like the rest of the great restaurants in SD. Dropping $300+ for mid dinner and terrible service is just unacceptable.

Yelp
Wow! What an amazing place. Great upscale atmosphere. Great for a business meal during the day or romantic dinner at night. The servers were amazing, friendly and efficient and then there was the food! I had the steak Frits and it was cooked perfect to temp. I ordered medium rare and it was warm pink inside and perfect charred outside. It sat on a bed and fresh garlic and spinach, and then covered with an amazing light sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. The fries are shoestring and perfectly salted. My husband had the baguette sandwich which he loved and the Cesar salad was fresh and crisp. This is not the first time we have eaten here. We had brunch once before and it was just as amazing. Enjoy!

Yelp
Brunch today was borderline disastrous. Things got off on the wrong foot from minute one: we had a reservation for outdoor seating and the hostess refused to seat us outdoors, despite an open table for 4 visible from the entryway. Fine... we sat indoors without complaint. And sat. And sat. 25 minutes passed without water being poured in a glass/a server stopping by our table. At minute 30 one of our party flagged down one of the passing staff and asked if we could see a waiter. 5 minutes later our assigned server arrived at the table with an apology and swiftly took our orders for drinks and food. And then the wait began again... 20 minutes later, no drinks. We were unable to establish eye contact with any staff, and our server was completely absent from the floor, so I took the (for me) unusual step of tracking down the manager, who was also apologetic once we explained the situation. Drinks were subsequently served, and we got somewhat on track again. With respect to the food... it was serviceable, but not anything I would make a return trip for, in light of the service baubles. The onion soup was entirely lacking in gratinee (the photo says it all), but everything else was fine enough. We appreciated the manager's professionalism, however.
google avatar

Angelina C.

Yelp
The service and food were great here. The wait staff was very attentive and our glasses were always full without us having to ask for more. Upon seating our whole party, our server told us about their daily special and soup of the day, which were a Chilean sea bass and lobster bisque. We ordered both of the specials along with the braised spare ribs, baked salmon, and mushroom ravioli. The food was all great, but considerably pricey for the serving size. They also charge an $8 cake fee if you bring your own birthday cake. Ambiance was nice as well- each table had holiday center pieces and fresh linens.
google avatar

Mario R.

Yelp
Always a great time. The food is excellent and there's plenty of seating even at brunch time. Specialty drinks are fantastic, try the short rib hash and avocado toast! If you come at brunch, immediately order some pastries cause they're busy and the food might be a while. Other than that, enjoy!

Yelp
We had finally made a reservation for Parc for our anniversary this year. The service was great, from being seated right away to the friendly and accommodating service with our toddler. The toddler menu was great, he loved the butter and parmesan pasta with the bread for the table. My husband enjoyed the steak schnitzel sandwhich, which in my opinion was the star of our table. I enjoyed the mussels with frites which came in a white wine reduction sauce which was amazing with the table bread. I would've loved to enjoy the rosé spritz, but they were unfortunately out of the lychee syrup. The blood orange old fashion was AMAZING. Our only complaint, which was not of the establishments fault, was the party of 2 ladies that sat next to us who complained to the hostess about my little one loud enough so I could hear, stating she hopes he's not a screamer. (He's not, he had a lovely time and enjoyed the wonderful food). Would I go back? Yes! Next time for either brunch or happy hour!

Yelp
Best lunch downtown and incredible service! Melina is the best server and took great care of our family for special birthday celebration. Excellent food and drinks.

Yelp
I was here for Sunday lunch with one of my friends. Looks like we just missed the brunch crowd, which apparently gets pretty busy. The restaurant is a lot larger than it appears from the outside. The aesthetic is simple yet elegant. You can go there dressed casual or dressed up. This restaurant is located off 5th avenue, so parking is not as terrible as other parts of downtown. I would still plan to leave a few minutes early to find parking. Friendly tip meter parking is not enforced on Sundays. We ordered some drinks and Ceviche to start. I ordered the lavender French martini, was very light and refreshing, definitely aligned to my usual drink palette. The ceviche had an interesting French twist, very much enjoyed the loaded avocados in the ceviche. I ordered the seafood salad, which included smoked salmon, shrimp, and crab. My friend ordered the Ahi tuna sandwich, which was seared perfection, as I stole a few bites. Service was also very attentive. There is only one unisex bathroom stall, so just keep that in mind if you go during a busy time frame! This place is definitely a $$$-$$$$ restaurant. But you get great quality seafood and French cuisine. Overall, I very much enjoyed my food and experience.

Yelp
Awesome service from Peter, and food is delicious-seriously. We went for brunch and had the following: Eggs benedict with short rib Short rib hash park crepe along with two Cortado's. Everything was savoureux! Next time bavk in SD we will be here for dinner.

Yelp
It's really disappointing to write a poor review as Parc Bistro has been my favorite restaurant for years. Lunch today was incredibly slow. It took forever to bring out drinks and our entrees. Our waitress never returned during the entirety of our meal to check in with us. I'm embarrassed that I had recommended this place to so many people over the years. Today and the last time we were here, we heard other tables around us complain about the awful and slow service. The Manager came to visit with the unhappy table next to us but never checked in with us. Maybe this shouldn't have been a surprise as our own waitress never checked in on us with our meals. We came here last month to celebrate my first Mother's Day, it was terribly slow and all the tables around us were also complaining. Service was so slow that I had to take my meal to go after waiting so long. I didn't write a review then thinking it was an off day- but it's obvious now that it wasn't an off day and that Parc Bistro has gone downhill significantly. Perhaps they have new management? Or they have significant staff turnover? Whatever the reason, we won't be back anytime soon and will no longer recommend this place.

Yelp
Loved our meal and experience at Parc! The dining room was classy without being stuffy and our servers were very attentive. Food was well prepared-- the highlights were the mushroom ravioli and lobster aranchini . I would order these every time I go. The Burrata was also really good but how good can burrata get, right? This was up there. The crab cakes and scallops were solid. Well prepared, tasted great. The escargot was tasty and interestingly deshelled, which made them much easier to eat. I was only slightly disappointed by the seafood tower--it was good but I think I should have ordered each item separately instead. Overall a lovely experience that I'd return to next time I'm in town!

Yelp
my husband and I met at Park bistro 14 years ago and have been coming back ever since. Every time we come here the service is great. Food is good. It's always a nice experience. Will you bring Lola out of town guest here and we're always happy to spend time with the patio.

Yelp
We just had a wonderful dinner and dining experience at the Parc Bistro-Brasserie. Our server, Peter, was probably the best server that we have ever had, anywhere. He is a true professional, friendly and provided us with excellent suggestions for our dinner that were gluten free. By the way, there are many menu items that are either gluten free or can be modified to be as such. We had the Escargot de Bourgogne, Ahi Tuna Tartare, Duck Ménage à Deux (delicious), Seared Scallops (perfectly cooked and with lobster mashed potatoes), and Raspberry Gelato/Dark Chocolate Marquis (a great way to finish off our meal). Reservations are recommended, and we will be back for sure!

Yelp
I really love this place! The whole staff treats you like family. I come for dinner and happy hour and I've never had a bad meal. The craft cocktails are outstanding and the wine list is incredible and VERY reasonably priced compared to all other restaurants near by. The whole inside is gorgeous, it feels like you're sitting in Paris! If you are on the fence about coming here- look no further! You have to try Parc Bistro-Brasserie!
