Having been referred to the restaurant by our hotel, we were looking forward to a really nice evening in what is a cosy and charming establishment. The welcome was warm, and the food was ok but it was less enjoyable than at other places we ate in.
We ordered two glasses of champagne to begin with. One arrived, flat. After chasing up for the other one it did arrive with bubbles but that was not a promising start. The starters were pleasant enough, without breaking down any culinary boundaries.
We went with the langoustine as is their special and at €21 per 100g you know it is going to be an expensive meal but hopefully one that is well worth it. As it was we felt the langoustine was a little overcooked and therefore quite disappointing.
We ordered the cheeseboard and it did not taste particularly great, truth be told, so we ended up leaving a little disappointed and about €390 poorer. It certainly was not worth that and the overwhelming sense of feeling was that it had grown a bit 'tired'.
For half the cost we enjoyed better meals at La Rescator and Terra Cotta and I would recommend those above this to anyone staying in Propriano.
