I stopped by Parfait Paris on Coronado Island curious to try their cookie–croissant hybrid, especially having had versions of this pastry in Paris and Amsterdam. This one missed the mark for me. Rather than a croissant with cookie dough baked into the lamination, it felt more like a standard cookie placed on top of a pastry that didn’t truly resemble a croissant, with additional soft cookie filling inside. It was fine, but not comparable to the versions I’ve enjoyed abroad.
Service was unfortunately lacking. I was the only customer in the shop and waited several minutes without acknowledgment. When I did order, the pastry was offered warmed, but it still came out cold. At around $10, it felt overpriced for both the execution and the experience.
