I was quite excited to try Pari after hearing about its Michelin mention and unique Thai–Izakaya fusion concept. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.
Starting from the booking process, everything felt overly rigid. You have to book through their website and pay in advance (around 300 THB per person, VAT not included). Seating rules are very strict and not flexible at all, which set the tone for a rather formal and slightly stressful dining experience.
When we arrived—10 minutes early—we still had to wait because they weren’t ready, even though they kept reminding us not to be late. The restaurant wasn’t even full, which made that part more disappointing.
Food-wise, it was decent and up to a standard Izakaya level, but definitely not the best I’ve had. Portions were very small compared to the price, and the variety was limited—our group of four could easily order the entire menu and still not feel full. Service was just okay; everyone seemed to be in a rush, and the whole meal felt a bit mechanical.
The place was also quite crowded and hard to park nearby, which added to the overall inconvenience. With the high price, small portions, and average quality, it feels like you’re mostly paying for the “story” and branding rather than the experience or the food itself.
In short, Pari didn’t meet my expectations. It’s not a bad restaurant, but definitely not one I’d recommend waiting or paying extra for. No worries if you haven’t tried it—you’re not missing much.
