"The cosy design and small counter foster a vibrant, relaxed dining experience. The small yet high-quality dishes combine Japanese Izakaya style with Thai ingredients, enhanced with wasabi or yuzu. The ham comes from a Yunnan village in Chiang Mai, perilla from Mae Hong Son, sashimi-grade fish from the south, and meat from organic farms. We recommend the corn-fried rice Yunnan ham and the house-made ponzu sauce, elevated by a refreshing Somsa citrus oil." - Michelin Inspector

Rewriting my review since I have had a reservation for dinner. The food was good but the squid topping was too much it blocked the taste of the actual dish. I had about 3 different dishes with squid topping (tofu, garlic rice, yakisoba) all of them near bland because of the topping. I had to brush it to the side to taste the dish. I ordered two different beef dishes and both were good but nothing spectacular that made you go “wow”. The sweet potato was good and more than reasonable for its price. Now for lunch, the beef bowl and pork neck was spectacular! The taste! The aroma! How it came nice, hot and steamy! It was definitely what I expected. The service is good and the atmosphere as well.

I was quite excited to try Pari after hearing about its Michelin mention and unique Thai–Izakaya fusion concept. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Starting from the booking process, everything felt overly rigid. You have to book through their website and pay in advance (around 300 THB per person, VAT not included). Seating rules are very strict and not flexible at all, which set the tone for a rather formal and slightly stressful dining experience. When we arrived—10 minutes early—we still had to wait because they weren’t ready, even though they kept reminding us not to be late. The restaurant wasn’t even full, which made that part more disappointing. Food-wise, it was decent and up to a standard Izakaya level, but definitely not the best I’ve had. Portions were very small compared to the price, and the variety was limited—our group of four could easily order the entire menu and still not feel full. Service was just okay; everyone seemed to be in a rush, and the whole meal felt a bit mechanical. The place was also quite crowded and hard to park nearby, which added to the overall inconvenience. With the high price, small portions, and average quality, it feels like you’re mostly paying for the “story” and branding rather than the experience or the food itself. In short, Pari didn’t meet my expectations. It’s not a bad restaurant, but definitely not one I’d recommend waiting or paying extra for. No worries if you haven’t tried it—you’re not missing much.

The dishes at this Japanese restaurant are authentic and delicious. The grilled fish is crispy on the outside and tender inside, full of flavor; the handmade gyoza has a golden crust with juicy filling; the corn tempura is crunchy and slightly sweet, enhanced by bonito flakes. Overall, the taste is genuine and highly recommended. The space is quite small, so it’s best to book 3–5 days in advance.

Innovative Local Flavors, World-Class Experience!! The food is a genuine journey. The flavor profiles are truly unique and exciting, delivering a creative twist that keeps you engaged with every bite. What's most remarkable is how the kitchen beautifully elevates traditional, regional ingredients and techniques to a gourmet level. It's clear why they were included in the Michelin Guide right after opening. If you're looking for an innovative taste of the local area, this is the place to be.

Everything is over the moon! I had such a great experience here. You need to reserve a table, but the wait was less than 5 minutes to get seated. It took around 10–15 minutes for the first dish to arrive and only 5–10 minutes for the next ones. The interior is lovely, but the food is even better! I really enjoyed it and will definitely come back for sure.

The emphasis is on the remarkable quality of Thai-produced fresh ingredients. Every dish our table shared was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented -- corn fried rice, grilled sirloin, grilled squid, fresh tomatoes with Thai salt, airy tofu with dried squid, and homemade sesame ice cream. Kudos to a superb spot in the old city.

What an outstanding dinner! It was a great experience getting to taste a wide selection of PARI’s dishes, all of which are greatly layered and incredibly flavourful. The fried rice and the mackerel were the highlights, which were even more delicious paired with their Chiang Mai sake. A must-try in Chiang Mai!

Honestly this place is a bit overrated. We’ve ordered tomato with salt, grilled cabbage, eggplant, yunan ham with corn fried rice and the aged fish with ponzu sauce. As a Michelin guide restaurant i’ll expect it a little bit more. Tomato with salt is just a pass, yet grilled cabbage and the aged fish with ponzu sauce is excellent! Eggplant is just okay, nothings special. The fried rice is also a regular fried rice but using yunnan ham is a bonus maybe? Service is okay, probably there’s some language barrier. The server who served us with the menu didn’t really explain the food but to just read the menu to us while we can read on our own lol. Also he didn’t really explain the dishes when the food is here. I think this place is okay in general but not a must eat in Chiang Mai
