How's about a "Let's Eat" Review for Brunch? Today we decided to go to Parish on Cherry Street. We got there shortly after 11 and the place was pretty empty, which surprised me being a holiday weekend. I ordered the Bottomless Mimosas (because I was raised right 😂🤣) and let me say, whatever Orange Juice they're using, it is tasty and was impressive! Had to try the Macon Bacon as an appetizer. It definitely is a MUST TRY. It's got this whole sweet smoked thing happening. They use the thick cut too, a personal fav of mine. We tried the Eggs Benedict. While the taste was good, the eggs weren't poached, they were more like medium boiled and that was a disappointment. I also got the Fried Chicken Biscuit. Later found out that they have someone come in every weekend to make the biscuits from scratch and it's evident. They were so good! The fried chicken was your basic breaded white meat and it came with Pimento Cheese. That was it. Pretty basic. I think a Fried Green Tomato on it would have made this a super star. Summing it up... The brunch was good, I don't know if I'd run back there for brunch but I will DEFINITELY be back for their craft cocktails and appetizers. Breaking It Down... I was disappointed that they have a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Honestly, I found it kind of lame. Credit card fees are the price every business owner faces. Build it into the cost. I found it to be unnecessary and at the end, it was less than $2 but it was the principle. Who carries cash anymore? 🤷🏻‍♂️ All in all, we paid $63 for two people for Brunch and while it wasn't bad, I feel like they're going to need to make some modifications to their brunch but I am excited to try them out again for dinner.

My Shrimp and Grits were fantastic. Fresh shrimp, cheese grits, and flavorful andouille sausage. It is an award winner as stated on menu. My spouse's dish was Vege Gumbo with shrimp. It was over filled with rice and the overall flavor was pale. The interior has character. It is a little dark inside. The exterior has a seating area, but around the corner, people were smoking in multiple forms and we choose to eat inside instead.

My wife and I ate for her the first time and we really enjoyed it. We started off with the crab claws for an appetizer and they were great, a little salty, but still very good. My wife had the side salad and the cajun pasta. I has the shrimp poboy with fries. Our meals were amazing. We will definitely go back and try other dishes.

Google
The food was absolutely delicious. Our server was professional and entertaining.....he can dance too. There was a DJ spinning records. We had Shrimp and Grits, fried green tomatoes, French Dip, Oysters Shrimp and a seafood boil with strawberry, chocolate and original beignets.....melt in your mouth.

What a gem hidden downtown! Love the atmosphere. The appetizers were wondermous! The entrée could have been spicer but I'm just picky. Service was on point with all our needs.

Our girls day was complete with this visit to Parrish on Cherry. Excellent food. We ordered very nearly half the menu. Only one thing wasn’t for us. But they were really great. Grace and EK are fun, and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed ourselves!!!! The bread pudding is the best. The mussels pasta and seafood dip, the crab claws, crawfish jambalaya, egg rolls, and just about everything was just amazing!!! Will def be back!!!

Google
What an outstanding time! The food was absolutely outstanding and the environment and the people were so loving! We had a fantastic experience

Google
We started our dinner with the best crab cake I've ever had. I got the crab boil and my wife had the Cajun pasta. My wife had a Hurricane with her meal. For dessert we got funnel cake fries. The overall meal was fantastic. Five stars. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Yelp
Went to Parish on a Friday night and had a great overall experience. We were seated right away and chose to sit outside to enjoy the live music, which added a nice touch to the evening. The service was solid friendly and attentive. We started with the gator bites, which were tasty, though just a bit on the salty side. For the main course, I had the grilled fish po' boy, and it was flavorful and well-cooked. I opted for red beans and rice instead of fries, but unfortunately, that was the one letdown of the night. The rice wasn't fully cooked in parts, which threw it off. Other than that, the meal and atmosphere were really enjoyable. I'd definitely go back just will skip the red beans and rice next time.

Yelp
Blair was our server. He was very polite and attentive. NOLA lemonade 4/10 Really watery and not really lemonade flavored. Strawberry was fine in it. Alcohol didn't blend well. Fried green tomatoes 10/10 Can taste that little bit of vinegar, and it probably helped break down the tomato so it wasn't so hard, which was nice. Cook was a perfect al dente. Batter was good and crunchy. Remoulade was slightly spicy but really good flavor and the perfect amount to cover each tomato. Shrimp and grits 10/10 It's award winning for a reason. Shrimp cooked perfectly. The tails were also de-shelled which was a plus. Grits were good, creamy and a little bit cheesy. Andouille sausage was spicy and had good flavor. Sauce was delicious, seasoned well. Fried shrimp Po boy 10/10 Very yummy. Shrimp was cooked perfect and a good fry on the batter. Remoulade delicious. French fries were good too.

Yelp
A toast to Parish! We wanted to grab a bite b/f going to a NYE house party. How many places did we pop into to attempt that? * Hotel 45 Rooftop Bar - closed at 8 pm for private party * Braddocks * Rookery All needed reservations, no walk-ins. Parish is innovative in that they only take a certain number of reservations & then leave room for walk-ins. One of their bartenders shared that fun fact with us b/c we are so THRILLED that they had space at for us & were curious how we got to be so lucky. Their burger hit the spot & my friend filled up on their hearty red beans & rice. We both started out w/ a NYE adult beverage to get the party started...which we then continued on at a house party. Props for the spectacular customer service on one of the busiest nights of the year!

Yelp
A real Jem in Macon. I love the ambiance and the decorations here. The manager and owners really put a lot into this place and it's worth your time to eat here for the atmosphere and for live music. Bre is an amazing bartender. She pours heavy so come and ask for her. Happy hour is 9-10 PM so come in for a late party. The cajon egg rolls and the Macon Bacon is amazing! Be sure to check out the other creole menu items. Will come back again and again.

Yelp
Overall, the food is okay, but worth a 3 hour wait? Absolutely not. Got there at 6:30, got sat at 7:50. Waitstaff/hostess were really kind, probably the best part of the dinner. Ordered, didn't get our food until 8:20. Gator bites (7/10): crispy, a little fishy, but I'm assuming from being an unfamiliar protein. Good sauce Shrimp and crawfish Cajun pasta (5/10): asked for no tomato, got tomatoes. Pasta was under seasoned in both the salt and Cajun seasoning. The bread wasn't toasted... crawfish was small and shrimp tasted freezer burned. Like I said previously, it seemed like a Louisiana themed restaurant. It was very casual with live music to the point where you can't hear your own convos. The manager came out and spoke with us about our orders being pushed back, which I appreciate the honesty yet still baffled by the fact that they pushed it back for a table that arrived after us. The fact it took basically an hour to get our only appetizer and then 20 more minutes on top of that hour to get our main dishes is appalling. I wouldn't recommend going here and probably wouldn't revisit unless they changed their food management and adjusted recipes.

Yelp
Food was to die for! Drinks and service were outstanding!!!!! Appetizers were fast, and would definitely go back again!

Yelp
We decided to have a nice brunch on Mother's Day weekend. It was our first time here & we had an amazing time. Food was amazing, I didn't get a photo of the Eggrolls but they were also really goood! Service was quick, so quick our food came out with the appetizers. And highly recommend sitting on the patio if there will be music that day. It was a great plus!

Yelp
Early dinner while on vacation in Macon. I ordered tomato bisque and jambalaya. Soup was tasty but overpriced for the amount served. Jambalaya had lots of crawfish on a bid of seasoned rice but no other protein Being on a diet I was happy to eat mainly the crawdads and very little rice. My friend had a Caesar salad, red beans and rice, and banana foster rolls, all of which he deemed good Bill with tax and tip was $36.

Victoria D.

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING!!!! My hubby and I tried the Cajun pasta, Cajun rolls, crab cakes and whitefish PoBoy!!! They were all excellent and full of flavor. The crab cakes were light and full of crab meat instead of the regular bread-y types. Their house remoulade dipping sauce is sooo, soo good. The Cajun pasta was amazing, so savory and cheesy. The whitefish PoBoy was outstanding and fried to perfection. My Cajun Rolls were so crispy and delicious! The ambience there was beautiful. Our server Eva, was sweet and accommodating. She was patient with any questions or requests we had. We are DEFINITELY coming back to this restaurant. This place deserves 20 STARS! We highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Our first brunch in Macon so so good!. Came here after Church. Came in just in time before they for crazy. For the bottomless mimosas... I had the shrimp and grits... oh so decadent! My fiancé had the biscuits and gravy.... It was good but the portion size could have been bigger Oh get the beignets! They are a must!

Eric S.

Yelp
Best Crab Cakes ever with awesome side remoulade. The Macon's Bacon was very good as well also, with a tasty side peach pepper jelly. The Hurricane drink was bad as was the Rum and ginger beer drink. Waitress was very kind and attentive as were the hostess and the other staff. I would definitely go back to eat but just get a PBR.

Shirley S.

Yelp
Love eating there . The people are so nice and love the burger and mussels my favorites

Jay H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience! Food was awesome and the service was excellent! We ordered the Macon's Bacon and Crab Claw appetizers and both were delicious! The Spicy peach preserves were amazing on the candied bacon! For dinner around the table all dishes got huge thumbs up! Seafood Cajun Pasta, Shrimp and Grits, the Boucoup Crab Boil, and kids grilled whitefish were all super tasty! The crab was boiled perfectly. So often you go places where it is overcooked and it doesn't pull out of the shell easily. Not the case here! Will definitely come back when visiting family in Macon again!

Yelp
Good food, quick service, I've never been to New Orleans but I got the vibe live music was playing the days we passed by good spot for downtown!

Margaret H.

Yelp
Went to the Macon Christmas light display, could not get into another restaurant so we decided to go to Parish. Our meal was so delicious, we shared the crab cakes and a shrimp basket. The crab cakes were big and very tasty. The shrimp were large, sweet, with a very nice fried crust.... The fries were well seasoned. The star of the show was the raspberry and custard filled beignets.... Do not skip the beignets !!
google avatar

Yelp
I'll be honest, I have not been impressed both times I have been here. The first time I was of course excited to try something different and my husband was excited to have some seafood. I personally don't eat seafood so I ordered the chicken cajun pasta. Nothing spectacular. Nothing memorable. The second trip I was with my mom. Once we were seated, no one acknowledged us. Several severs came by our table but no one came by to get our drink orders or food orders. We sat there for a good 20 minutes before we got up and walked out.
google avatar

Glenniece L.

Yelp
Went to lunch and ordered the white fish and red beans and rice and the food was delicious and hot. The waitress was attentive and courteous. I most definitely will be going back to this restaurant again.
google avatar

Ellen F.

Yelp
Lovely wait staff! The beignets were phenomenal (classic & raspberry had a custard filling - yum!). We shared the Crab cake Benedict, also very good!
google avatar

Kier K.

Yelp
Tasteless gumbo with one chunk of chicken, no sausage and no seasoning. Shrimp poboy was very meh. 5 tiny pieces of shrimp. On a hot dog bun rather than a crusty roll. Okra was obviously frozen and poorly fried, and mushy. And we were told the jambalaya came already made in premeasured portions, so ... frozen? Bags? Gross Not recommended at all
google avatar

Alison K.

Yelp
Love this place! Food, drinks, staff, guests and music all the best! Wish they listed band schedule. I would be there more often. Know it's every night but everyone likes different types of music. See you again soon!
google avatar

Jacquetta S.

Yelp
I ordered this late one evening & it was so good. I had it for brunch one day and had to try it again. The shrimp snd grits were great. The grits were perfect. The crawfish gumbo was good too. The guy at the bar had great customer service.
google avatar

Julian T.

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical because it looks dirty from outside. It's not dirty at all. The service and food was stellar. We had a party of 8. They were out of a lot of beers. We had all then appetizers! The egg rolls and Mac n cheese bites were the table favorites. Everyone got either the low country boil or the shrimp and grits! We have been back 6 times. We are here for work and have ate her one a week. Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this spot. They also have live music!
google avatar

Shari W.

Yelp
Cute little place. Great service and food wasn't bad either. Didn't get a pic of the fried green tomatoes but they were soooo good. Just the right amount of coating and crisp tomato inside. Highly recommend Beignets were the best we have had since New Orleans.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
The live music is always great. The food is decent...my go order to is the seafood Cajun pasta.

Yelp
In Macon!!! What a wonderful little?.. city! Really fun day looking at camper sites, and now in the city for something to eat. We are at Parish restaurant for some Cajun food. Wonderful St Thomas crab claws.. plenty for two people!! We had the best grilled cheese samich ever. Cheese of course.. but tomato with bacon and grilled onions. Our bartender is great.. Bree.. we will def come back and recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Just stopped in on a Thursday evening to listen to the live music and have a beer. I like the location, and the music was great. The patio seating was nice, especially for the great weather. I thought the service was pretty marginal at best. Maybe it's because we didn't order food? I don't know. There weren't many people inside, or even outside for that matter, so it's not because they were slammed. When someone lit up a joint two tables over, it was time to go.

Yelp
the flavor and fun of new orleans. those lil gator bites had be gaggin (complimentary) they were so good. the perfect bite each time. you don't even need any of the cajun sauce its stupendous without it. the corn nuggets were such a pleasant lil delight. when I would bite in and feel that cream corn melt in my mouth. it had me thinking ungodly thought. may have to skip confession this weekend. my body is still tingling thinking about it. I most definitely would eat again
google avatar

Ciara C.

Yelp
Food and drinks were tasty and they weren't stingy with the crawfish. Service was prompt and friendly. New Orleans type ambiance, will be back.

Yelp
My wife loved the Mussels and the service was amazing. I wanted pizza and then they shared with me that Fattypizza would deliver it to me at Parish!
google avatar

Yelp
We ate at Parish on a Monday evening. The shrimp po-boy was good. The red beans and rice were tasty. The sautéed crab claws were good. The waitress was very accommodating. Decent beer selections. The decor has a Cajun/Mardi Gras theme.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is terrific and the service exceptional!! Loved the mussels, they were delicious!!

Yelp
They should call this place Sysco Parish.. actually Sysco on Cherry.. service is terrible.. mention my boudin balls were still frozen in the middle and she smiled and handed me my check..smdh

Yelp
Seating is fully outside, as a major renovation is ongoing. Started with sweet tea. The server was very nice, and friendly in a bubbly way. My Friend had Shrimp and Grits, and I had The Shrimp plate with cheese grits instead of the fries. We split the fried green tomato appetizer, which was 5 slices of breaded fried tomato. $1 per slice... Overall nice presentation, and the food arrived fairly quick and hot. Bill was $50

Yelp
Review of bar service (or lack there of): Went on a Friday night with several friends to have a drink at the bar at around 9:45pm. There were maybe 8 to 10 people total at the bar. The service: I've literally never encountered a more rude and uninterested bartender (young/taller girl) ......ever. She never even cracked a smile and it seemed as if she hated everyone in there. I ordered a glass of wine, my friends had mixed drinks. The mixed drinks, according to them, were horrible. I knew my friend who wasn't drinking her's wouldn't say anything, so I politely told the bartender that my friend wasn't drinking her's because she didn't like it. Her response, "what about it does she not like?!". Not, "I'm sorry, can i make something else.". I told her I didn't know, but that she could ask her when she got back from the restroom. The bartender rudley turned around and walked off saying that "she didn't need to know.". Super rude! We then tried to order 4 more drinks and she ignored us at first, pretending not to hear my friend who was sitting see directly In front of the register she was at. I've never seen anything like it!! I had been nice to her from the beginning, thinking that maybe she'd had a bad night (still no excuse). Finally, we get our bill and my friend was charged the drink that she didn't even drink and when I asked about it, her response was, "all alcohol sales are final.". Cool.... but that would have been something you'd say when I first told her the drink wasn't good..... super unprofessional. After paying, as we were leaving my friend was nicely trying to explain why she didn't like the drink and I just said, "she doesn't care.". The bartender said, "no, I didn't say that." Frankly, she didn't need to.... her whole attitude was, "I don't care.". I should've complained to management, but I have a feeling someone else will. She was awful.

Yelp
Quick mid week lunch today. Not busy but arrived at just after open. Im a softy for the aged brick buildings so ambiance was perfect. Clean bar, bathrooms, and cutlery (yeah I checked). Polite bartender and manager seated me promptly and got food out shortly after. Food was good and warm. Would visit again. Looks like live music on weekend possibly.

Liz R.

Yelp
We've tried this place twice before and we're not pleased with the food, prices, or service. However, since it had been over a year, we decided to try again. Mistake! We put our name on a wait list and were told it would be 40 minutes. After 40 minutes we were told it would be 20 more. After 20 more, we were told the same thing. In the mean time we made friends with the people next to us at the bar. One of them went to the restroom and overheard an employee say the kitchen only had one burner operating. Why didn't they just tell us that to begin with? Why would anyone treat a customer that way? We paid our bar tab and walked out. We won't be giving Parish another chance.

Jullie S.

Yelp
FIRST visit-- LOVED the food, drinks, vibe and service. Mitzy was ON IT!!!! We'll be back

Yelp
Our hotel recommended this local eatery and it was the best advice we received. Their was a live band, the ambiance was perfect, and the food was flavorful.

Yelp
Omg, this place is a hidden gem! Every single thing I had was full of flavor and delicious. I ordered the cajun chicken egg rolls, cajun grilled chicken pasta, beignets with a lemon sauce and a lemon drop martini! Reasonably priced and a lot of food . Great customer service! I will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I am a hug fan of dip of any kind, however, the seafood dip did not satisfy my taste buds. It could've had a little more seasoning and something else (I'm not sure what that something is). The drink was also just okay. Despite the food, the service at the bar was wonderful! Although my food experience wasn't so great, I'm willing to give them another try and will be updating my rating as soon as I give them another try.

Thad B.

Yelp
Left after being seated, given menus, and no one took our order for over 30 minutes. Enjoyed the ambiance and the live music, but someone needs to oversee the actual servers.

Johnnie M C.

Yelp
Great Customer Service and good food. Nice atmosphere inside and out. Live music was a staple in helping the environment be a relaxing experience. The outside seating made it even more inviting.
google avatar

Deby S.

Yelp
We haven't had any Cajun cooking in a long while, so we were excited when our LaQuinta receptionist recommended this restaurant. Lori, our MI waitress was great! All her recommendations were spot on! Their corn bites, fried green tomatoes, veggie gumbo, and shrimp and grits were all delightful!!! A wonderful musician was serenading us with an interesting mix of genre. All in all a really, enjoyable, relaxing day after a long day on the road. Thanks Parish! We will be back!
google avatar

karen c.

Yelp
Terrible service, the server didn't know what was on tap nor did they offer to find out. Order two apps, hush puppies which were ok and crab claws which were inedible. We asked for the check and the server never offered to replace or refund the uneaten crab claws. Worst restaurant food and service in a long time. Other tables Fiod didn't look particularly good either.
google avatar

Yelp
Live music, cold beer, great atmosphere with some of the best pasta dishes. I know have a new favorite hot spot to eat when ya get tired of all the burgers.

Yelp
Well, popped in after finding out another restaurant was not open that evening and I must say I was not disappointed. Upon walking in you realize it's a extremely laid back, no dress slacks needed here. I sat at the bar and started with a hurricane. Not bad, but didn't pack the punch as others Louisiana themed restaurants I've been to. For my meal I decided to go with the shrimp and grits. Not bad, not bad at all. The portion was just right for me and grits left over. I would have liked a few more shrimp, but the sausage was tasty as well. At first it was a bit salty but once the beer broth mixed with the grits it mellowed out. I finished up with a bourbon barrel ale, and yummm. Overall, not bad. I'd go back :)

Heather P.

Yelp
No. Just No. Unless you want to experience an adventure in subpar service and food that tastes only marginally better than that from the frozen food section of your local market, avoid this place at all costs. Our one dining experience was so horrific, that we tell the story to this day. It was so bad, it was laughable. We went before the dinner rush and were seated promptly; however, it took 17 minutes and two trips to the host stand before anyone came to take our drink order. Additionally, when we were seated they forgot to give us menus. It took 25 minutes to get drinks. Still no menus. Once we finally got menus, in addition to our meal I also ordered an appetizer and my husband got gumbo. Only, when they brought the food, they brought my husband jambalaya, NOT gumbo. When we pointed this out to the server, she argued with us and said it was gumbo. When we showed her the menu description, she still insisted it was gumbo. We finally asked to speak to the manager. When he came to the table we asked him what the dish was. He said Jambalaya. By the time we finally got the gumbo, we had been in the restaurant for an hour and fifteen minutes. There was one other table in our section. They eventually left, having been served neither food nor drinks. With the gumbo, the roux was overly salty and the rice was crunchy. We never got refills on the drinks. After finishing our appetizers, we waited another 15 minutes (total time in restaurant: 2 hours 10 minutes) before we left enough cash on the table to cover the drinks and appetizers and left. Not surprisingly, there were no employees to be seen to explain that we were leaving. We then walked across the street to the Rookery, where we were seated next to the OTHER couple who had left before us. We had a good laugh and commiserated over the terrible service.

Yelp
Food is awful. Lot of it is frozen. Kitchen is dirty. Staff smokes out back between taking tables. I would not recommend it.
