Definitely a nice place for a date or special occasion and not so much for solo dining. I looked up their menu online before coming and was really looking forward to a dish that apparently they no longer serve. Instead I decided to go with 3 appetizers to get a good sampling. I enjoy sweet potatoes and especially sweet potato pancakes so when I saw sweet potato bread I had to have it! Unfortunately this was the worst thing I ordered, there is no sweet potato in it apparently "milk" from it only and the salt on top was too much, sugar would have probably been nice, oh well. Brussel Sprouts were good and the mint was a very nice touch. Lastly the gnocchi was solid. I would probably return for a special occasion but not solo. Enjoy.

Best restaurant in the state!! The chef is a genius with flavors and texture. One bite of their food will leave you wondering if God Himself put Heaven on your plate. Impeccable food and amazing service, all hidden away in Monroe. It’s worth a trip to Louisiana to try this restaurant! I flew in from California a few years ago and this restaurant was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend trying it!

Had a great dining experience at The Parrish. To start the service was excellent, Dillion was outstanding, very knowledgeable about the drinks and menu and made some great suggestions. Bartenders made excellent DIRTY Martinis. We started off with Hearth Baked Sweet Potato Bread & Duck Wraps in a syrup glaze both were delicious. Wine selection was plentiful and wide variety. Main course for us ranged from Pan Roasted Tasmania Salmon with sweet pea risotto. Which my Dad said was excellent. my Mother had the Louisiana Shrimp & Smoked Tasso Scampi. The pasta was homemade and delightful. We shared the Berkshire Pork Shank and gravy. It was more than enough for two people. We finished the night off with Bread Pudding with a bread pudding connoisseur at the table, said it was the best she ever had. The only negative thing I can say is it was a little noise but might have just been our location and how busy they were. Which is great to see on a Tuesday night. Thank you for a great dining experience we will be back when back in Monroe.

We stopped here for our anniversary dinner on our way to Florida. It was amazing! Delicious food, great service, and a great atmosphere! Will definitely be making a trip again! If you are driving through or staying in the area, you should definitely check it out!

It is a Level of top tier talent from the food to Chef Cory working the floor. It is a beautiful balance, almost like going to a show. Crystal from behind the bar taking care of me. To the hostess taking my plate away. Everyone felt like family. Oh by the way the food was amazing. Lord take yourself there. Well done

Google
Food was delicious, per usual. The duck wraps are phenomenal and the whipped burrata was unreal. Never had any complaints with anything on their menu so this being less than a 5 star review is a bit hard to write. Would give 5 stars but I deducted because I am a little disappointed we couldn't use the gift cards we had. Our best friends gifted them to us two Christmases ago but there's somehow no record they were purchased and they had no verifiable balance, so we had to pay out of pocket - which wasn't expected for my husband's birthday dinner. The manager did state they had issues with their gift cards "a couple years back" but I don't feel that much investigating was done past the initial "there's no record of this" so it was a bit disappointing. Rule of thumb: don't let gift cards go past a year. Couple months to be safe. Otherwise great food.

Parish and Cory Bahr's creations are an incredible treat, especially for such a relatively small town in Louisiana. This restaurant's offerings begin with great ideas then allow great employees to transform quality ingredients into special occasions. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and Father's Day and it was a night to remember! The specials were truly special especially the softshell crab and the rack of lamb. My tuna though was staples menu item that was anything but regular... It was a talented mixture of flavors I'd never have thought to combine. Their desserts were solid but could use a little more attention (chocolate cheesecake I'm looking at you ;) The waitstaff were phenomenal! Friendly and helpful and just incredibly attentive. I'd almost forgotten how good fantastic service can be... I literally would drink half my cup of water and somebody would quickly and pleasantly fill it. Our primary waiter Dylan was quick to step in and share his favorites when asked and generally great to work with, but it was also phenomenal to have other support staff fill in whenever needed to adjust order elements or table needs. This was simply one of the best meals I've had in my entire life... and it goes beyond the food. The dining room environment and set up is just right for the space. The local art is on point. So I could have one small ask, it would be just to make the dishes a little more plant-forward. I generally like eating vegan kinds of dishes, but understand that variety is the spice of life and vegan dishes can be challenging for this business market. Regardless, our waiter was phenomenal to offer me a side of succotash that was off the hook! I'm quite sure that if I'd asked they could have accommodated my request.

My family and I visited Parish in August, 2019 while visiting in Louisiana and we still haven't forgotten the awesome experience we had there. Whenever my husband and I go out to eat, we always compare the experience to Parish because it was so incredible. 1. The service. Our waiter incredibly nice and knowledgeable, and he helped make our night fantastic. 2. The food. There was no salt or pepper on the table because it really wasn't needed. Everything was perfect and I still remember the incredible steak, and my husband is still searching for duck that tastes like the one at Parish. 3. The drinks. There were so many variations of drinks and all of them were delicious and different. 4. Atmosphere. The people both who worked there, and the guests were all super nice. We had champagne at the end and it felt like more than an experience. I spoke with my family recently, and we all agreed we would return to Parish if we had the opportunity.

Yelp
From start to finish, our meal at Parish was nothing short of phenomenal. We began with the Short Rib Arancini, which were perfectly crisp on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside--absolutely packed with flavor and a fantastic start to the evening. For our main course, we had the Seared Hokkaido Scallops, and they were flawless--beautifully caramelized and buttery soft. They were paired with a rich, creamy mushroom risotto that complemented the scallops like a dream. Every bite was balanced, elegant, and satisfying. And then came the grand finale: The Fat Elvis--my all-time favorite dessert and a masterpiece in its own right. The combination of peanut butter mousse, chocolate ganache, candied bacon, caramelized banana, and banana ice cream is just outrageous (in the best possible way). Every element was crafted with care and indulgence. On top of the exceptional food, the service at Parish is consistently outstanding. The staff is warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, making every visit feel like a special occasion. Parish never disappoints--it's truly one of the best dining experiences around.

Yelp
The food, wait staff and ambience here is all exemplary. The menus change with the seasons and are always mouth watering. Chef Cory is innovative and uses fresh local ingredients. Wonderful experience every time we go and we go often.

Yelp
Too expensive and I think you need to see it for yourself. The restaurant dining area is not appealing, not romantic. The ambience feels like everyone is watching each other business. Sorry

Yelp
Parish is one of the best restaurants I've been to. If I had a private jet, I'd fly to eat there often. On this last visit, we started with some amazing apps of Fried Okra and Fried Alligator. Okra might seem like a strange app to order, but the way Chef Corey thinly slices the pods and serves them over a yummy Mediterranean sauce is simply to die for. The Alligator was also good, but that okra... oh my! The mains we ordered on this visit to Parish included the Trout over Orzo and Shrimp and Tasso Ham Scampi. Both were yummy, but that Scampi! Wow! It was slap your mamma good! We wanted the bread pudding for dessert, but the sold out. I'm kinda glad they did because we got the Lemon Meringue as a back up and we're blown away. Final thoughts: If you are ever in Monroe, LA, do yourself a favor and check this place out!!
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Came across Parish when we were traveling to get to Texas. The restaurant is very nice and super inviting. We started our meal with the alligator bites, super flavorful and meaty. Also got the sweet potato bread -- great portion it's a mini loaf and baked perfectly. For the main we got the Cajun pasta, it was pretty tasty.

Yelp
Amazing Food! The duck wraps and deviled eggs are awesome! I had the filet and it was great! Try this place and you will love it. It is a little pricey so be prepared.
google avatar

Kip B.

Yelp
The only chef's spot in town that merited my repeat patronage since Nonna. I've been several times and have yet to be disappointed with anything. Coming from a foodie with a bit of a pedigree, i mean this as the highest compliment a local can get: eating here is like leaving town for a dinner somewhere semi-secret and semi-casual yet priceworthy, in an uptown nook in an actual city.
google avatar

Lou B.

Yelp
Service was great and food was wonderful!!! Cory greeted us as we came in - no reservations but the bar was available. Ambience was great too . No complaints.
google avatar

Yelp
We've stopped in Monroe on the way to Atlanta several times but this was the first trip in mid summer, with dogs. Thankfully Parish has a patio with "some shade" and is dog friendly, though they don't publicize that. If they had fans and table fly-away things it would have been more comfortable but we take what we can with our pups! Tip: if you want to dine inside, make a reservation. We had no choice but others without a reservation needed to dine outside because they were booked. It's 95. Not ideal but not Parish's fault either. Food: Gator bits were cooked perfectly, and the dill was a nice touch. Hubby's grilled Mahi with crab was amazing and my Scallops with Pork Belly was incredible. Don't let the smallish town vibe of Monroe fool you. Chef Cory Bahr must be classily trained to deliver on food the way he did. We can't wait to return on our next trip!

Yelp
The restaurant is very beautiful, definitely a great place to go for a nice dinner. My husband and I went to celebrate both of our birthdays, we had heard great things and wanted to try a new place. The duck wraps for amazing, a great way to start off the meal. My husband really enjoyed the seared tuna and his dessert. The only reason I took off a star is because when our server opened our wine, she accidentally spilt it over the bottle and the menu, and I personally didn't enjoy my dessert which was the lava cake with ice cream and kettle corn. We will definitely try again, because other than that- the cocktails, the Austin hope (wine from where we are originally from), and the other food orders made it worth it! Excited to try something new the next time we go there!

Yelp
Man, oh, man. When I think of good food and where I should travel to eat good food, Monroe, Louisiana, doesn't even crack the top 100 on my list. But after eating at Parish, Monroe is in my top five! Hidden away in an industrial area, Parish comes upon you with its bright ambience. Walking in, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I'm glad we came here. The food was exceptional, the staff were friendly, and I was blown away by the whole experience. I walked out full and happy. I will recommend this place until I am blue in the face. Come hungry and leave highly satisfied!!
google avatar

Yelp
The first time I came to Parish, it was not my favorite but I decided to give it a second try! It was great!! The food was excellent! We had the kale broccoli salad as an appetizer and it was gone in seconds! The service was great and she knew all the right things to recommend! Would definitely go again!

Reviewer P.

Yelp
Superior dinning. We've been dining here for a while now, beautiful restaurant where the food is always on point with great flavors. The staff always so friendly and welcoming. Only thing is seating at the bar still feels like a diner and cannot sit too long since seating is backless and can get uncomfortable. Have to sit on my fancy jacket, no coat check, Would be nice if it was more comfortable with some support.

Yelp
We had the best experience. Robert was a phenomenal server. We had the duck wraps. Bacon wrapped around tender duck with cream cheese and jalapeño inside all nestled in a spicy honey sauce. We also had a crawfish and crab cake. So good. It was atop an aioli with fresh corn kernels. I had the filet. Perfection and the crispy Yukon potatoes were heavenly. Mike got the rigatoni with bolognese. We exchanged plates halfway through the meal. The banana pudding is ridiculous. I'm still dreaming about it. The lemon meringue pie was perfect. The perfect tangy with a lightly sweet meringue. You must try this place!

Yelp
When I tell you this restaurant had it all! We dined outside, a party of 18, for birthday celebration. Our server, Johnny, was absolutely fantastic! Engaging, met every need, answered every question we had, made us feel at home... He was amazing! There was complimentary champagne because of the birthday we were celebrating and then I followed up with a signature cocktail, the French 66. I ordered the shareable seafood platter for an appetizer which had oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, redfish dip and several trim sauces. For dinner I ordered the fillet mignon which was like butter! Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Make a reservation to ensure you have a chance to try this place while in Monroe. On a Tuesday night it was full, almost all the time! Had dinner here with some coworkers and everything was delish! The bacon wrapped duck appetizer was really good but it does come stuffed with a soft cheese. This isn't included in the description so be aware (in case you have dairy sensitivity). The bacon slightly overpowered the duck but it was such a good bite. Definitely get the sweet potato bread ... that is an experience all on its own! I had the pan seared halibut with potato gnocchi, peas, and wild mushroom. It was a good sized serving and everything was cooked perfectly. I stuffed myself until I couldn't go any more. Our waiter was fantastic! He made great recommendations and provided just enough face time with us - we never felt rushed and always felt taken care of!

Yelp
Passing Thru and enjoy a 5 star meal on my road trips! Adam & Josh took Great care at the bar! The ingredients were fantastic and recipes even better. I had the Brussels & Rigatoni Bolognese ( I ate the Brussels before I got the picture) Craft Cocktails are fantastic Even a Blind squirrel can find a nut ( gem) and I definitely did!

Yelp
The culinary experience was exceptionally delightful, prompting an inevitable return visit. Each dish we sampled exhibited remarkable gustatory attributes.

Yelp
My sister probably didn't lend enough information as to how amazing the chef and restaurant here is but all I knew going in was that he was a 'Chopped' champion and this is one of the best restaurants in town. So much more than that. Food and wine's best new chef, a food network star finalist, and he beat Bobby Flay to boot. Yes, it was the best damn meal I had down south while visiting family and yes I regret not ordering a desert. The place has a very modernistic edge to it. White walls, modern lighting fixtures, and interesting art pieces adorn the walls with a full bar lining the back of the room. I took the plunge and ordered an old fashioned. I savored every sip of it because it was proper. For snacks we split the duck wraps and grilled oysters. I preferred the duck wraps. Those were amazing. A little bit smokey, brushed with honey and a little cayenne and covered in crispy bacon. For my entree I went with the Pan Roasted Gulf fish covered in Louisiana Jumbo Lump Crab and served with wild mushroom and chive risotto in a beurre blanc sauce. Uh. Yes. Impossible to decide what to get but this was a winner and slam dunk. It was decadent but not insanely heavy. But every mouthful felt like luxurious butter covered satin. I was torn between that and the flounder with grits (you had me at cheddar jalapeno grits), one of their pastas, or their burger. I didn't try anyone else's food but my sister couldn't stop raving about how this is one of the best burgers she's ever had in her life from here. Our server was also super friendly and informative. All that's missing is that it's now hundreds of miles away from me. Please open a restaurant in New York.

Yelp
Great food by a local chef, great craft cocktails And great atmosphere.... Make a reservation because they do fill up fast

Yelp
Wonderful food that was full of flavor. They make shared lettuce options that were amazing. The service was great. Definitely a repeat.

Yelp
Outstanding. Food, ambiance and service top notch. A lucky and wonderful Yelp find while traveling across the country. Everything we ordered was prepared with skilled hands and the taste buds could tell!

Yelp
We were on a road trip from North Carolina back home to Austin, Texas. It worked out that Monroe was a good stopping point after 8-hours of driving. After some internet research we were excited for dinner at Parrish Restaurant & Bar. We were a bit concerned driving to the restaurant. It was Saturday night and downtown was completely dead. We turned the corner and it seemed every car in Monroe was at Parrish. The place was packed but we were lucky enough to grab the last two available seats at the bar. Josh was out bartender and server and he did a great job. After a martini, we ordered some sweet potato bread and the duck appetizer. Dinner was a lobster pasta, the fish of the day and a bottle of Malbec. We finished with a slice of lemon ice box pie. Everything was delicious. Josh was buried in drink orders but still took great care of us. I have one issue with the evening and to me, it's a pretty big deal. I'm a bourbon drinker. I was blown away by the wall of bourbons on display. Probably over 60 bottles. They had it all. All the Pappy's, all the Weller's, plus a bunch or great labels you don't always see. I spent dinner deciding what wonderful pour I was going to finish the night with. Once every was cleaned up asked Josh for a bourbon menu. They don't have a menu. Why? Because ALL the bottles on the top shelf are off limits. Those bottles are the "chefs personal collection". All 32 bottles on the top shelf. All the best ones. Chef Bahr, your restaurant, your rules, but that's not cool. Why would you do that??? It kind of took the shine off a great evening. So, as long as you are not a bourbon fan, I think you'll love the restaurant.

caleb h.

Yelp
Always wow. Always excellent. Service, and food are elite. Atmosphere is great but too loud. They have worked on improving that but it's hard when you're always packed. Presentation and food and drink knowledge by the wait staff is superb. Top of the stack by far for Monroe
google avatar

Patrice G.

Yelp
Great service went there yesterday and they workers were definitely polite and friendly and their food is a 100 definitely would recommend this place
google avatar

Eugene E.

Yelp
A great night with a great meal. We ordered the duck wraps......excellent as usual. 1/2 pound filet mignon....outstanding as usual and the crab swordfish.... beyond great. The swordfish stole the show tonight.

Travis M.

Yelp
Literally the best meal I've ever had. Duck wraps were great with perfect spicing. The main entree was lamb with an indescribably great side incorporated with the presentation. Delicious paired with a Malbec. Thank you.

C M.

Yelp
Had dinner at Parish last night and it was by far the best meal I have had out in many years! Had the baked oysters (delicious), wedge salad is the best I have ever had, scallops and fish of the day were excellent and service was also just right! Definitely make a reservation, looked like a couple of tables for 2 were empty (tuesday) but otherwise looked full.
google avatar

Etheldra S.

Yelp
Absolutely the best fine dining in Monroe. Try the duck wraps...to "die" for. The waiters and waitresses are on point.

Sahana P.

Yelp
Service and ambiance was great and even though there isn't many vegetarian options on the menu, the Chef was able to make me a risotto dish with ricotta dumplings instead of the meat that normally comes with it. The risotto was fantastic but the ricotta dumplings were a bit on the bready side, not like asian dumplings. However, they clearly prepare everything fresh and it was very much appreciated they were willing to make a dish for me. We also got the burrata appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back here for a special occasion!

Yelp
Tried Parish for the first time and will definitely be returning!! Loved our server, Jason, but honestly the entire staff was wonderful. Very welcoming and friendly. Jason was very knowledgeable and described specials and favorites in great detail. The pace of the meal was perfect as was the food! It was actually difficult to decide what to order because everything sounded wonderful! Thus, our return...we need to try more things!! Keep up the great work, Cory! Kudos to you, your staff and your chefs!!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
The food was good. Especially good food for seafood lovers. The service was great! And the ambiance was nice. Not my romantic restaurant pick for the area but definitely in my top 3!

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Had dinner at Parish's tonight. The food was excellent as was the service. The steak was melt in your mouth, the stuffed crab was perfect. Our server Dylan was attentive but did not hover. I highly recommend the restaurant for excellent food & service.

Yelp
More hype than anything. Food and taste were not of the quality that was expected. Very overpriced!!!
google avatar

Kyla R.

Yelp
This was my first dinner out in 7 months And worth the wait. I made online reservations explaining that I had my baby with me And they were very accommodating. I felt bad bringing him but I don't come to Monroe very often and have been wanting to try this restaurant since I saw the chef on food network:) Josh our server was excellent And very knowledgeable with the menu . The tuna was amazing melt in your mouth. My husband had the bucher's butter steak and I don't eat meat but I had to try it. Such an amazing experience even though we had to be in And out in 45 mins. I can't wait to come back next time In Monroe

Coach P.

Yelp
Everything was Delicious! You could taste the homemade fresh in every bite! Since relocating to the area-I've been looking for a restaurant with great, fresh menu items-and man did they deliver! Will definitely be back soon! lol

Brannigan B.

Yelp
Fantastic food and fantastic prices, loved every bite and pretty much cleaned my plate.

Yelp
Another epic restaurant by Cory Barr. His pork dishes are his forte. He knows how to manage the wait staff, too. They are on the ball!
google avatar

Tracie W.

Yelp
Great meal from begin to end. Nice atmosphere. It's a little crowded & on the loud side but nice. Our server, Thomas, was exceptional. Desserts were the bomb. I would highly recommend this place & look forward to visiting again.
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
Now I am not a fan of Monroe dining.... But this is hands down one of my favorite 3 restaurants! Everything is always delicious and is the best vibes in town!!

Devin B.

Yelp
Me and my wife are die hard fans of this place. We were the first to have a rehearsal dinner here and it was immaculate as usual. Happy to have the rest of our family get to experience what we enjoy on the regular. Great atmosphere and service. Filet was so good I didn't want to swallow the last piece.
google avatar

Grant W.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had in Monroe... EVER. Brian, our waiter, was knowledgeable and attentive. We were eating to celebrate our 4th Anniversary, so we weren't rushed through any part of the meal. The Hawaiian Tuna and Beef Short Ribs were fantastic. Make sure whatever you get you include their Brussel Sprouts. Also, the Deviled Eggs were an excellent starter. Thanks for the the awesome service great food. This is a great gem here in tha Roe!
google avatar

Randy H.

Yelp
Best classy food In Monroe La. Quick service and can tell Parish has a award winning Chef behind the scenes!
google avatar

Wendy R.

Yelp
The owner is a disgusting bully. Please ready the owner's response to my review (I changed nothing) again, I always choose to support a local business - asked and answered- they did not call me back bc they do not want my business. Again - the recording said they were open. I sent him my review of warehouse no. 1 which was lovely- and he got even more insulting and nasty. All I said was they didn't call me back.
google avatar

Terry H.

Yelp
The food is beyond good, it's delicious and creative. Southern cuisine with an elegant touch. The ambience is upscale yet casual. Chef Corey Barr is involved and a gracious host. He's very attentive to his customers and his employees are trained well.

Yelp
We were road-tripping on our way to Georgia and I had to stop and charge my car in Monroe. We found this place on yelp and it didn't disappoint. The food was incredible!! The service was great. And funny enough, we ended up becoming friends with the people at the table next to us- one of them happened to be the Mayor. Such a fun experience. I wish we lived closer. Would definitely recommend

Emma M.

Yelp
Stumbled across this gem when our intended dinner spot turned out to be closed. Recommend calling in a reservation as the inside dining was full upon arrival. We chose to sit outside not realizing there was a shower on the way. After relocating to a patio seat under an umbrella due to a light drizzle starting up, our waitress reassured us that there would be seats inside in case weather got too bad. (Thankfully it never did!) We enjoyed our peaceful outdoor dinner with a view of the most beautiful fig trees (might have snagged a ripe one to see how sweet these fruits really were) Overall amazing service from the sweetest server, Chasey, and amazing experience outside!! Now for the food...I am speechless as this is easily one of the best meals I have had to date. Started off with the duck wraps and the appetizer special, crawfish and crab cake over corn salad. These were both to die for. At the first bite, I knew we were in for a treat!! For entrees, we went for the handmade rigatoni and the gulf fish of the day (mahi mahi). Two absolutely incredible meals. The pasta was on the richer side but that did not stop us from continuing on. When asked by Chasey if we were interested in desserts, a "yes" was given without hesitation. We just knew if there were more options, we must try them. Refraining from ordering one of each, we tried the fresh fig milk bread pudding and the lemon meringue pie with sorbet. Yes, the fig dessert is made from figs straight off the tree we were admiring prior. A heavy dessert but so worth it. The lemon was on the lighter side and an amazing ending to the most wonderful and satisfying meal. Recommending this to everyone I can!! Thank you Parish for a wonderful night!!

Yelp
OUTSTANDING! Just tried this restaurant for our anniversary and i am extremely impressed! The service was unbelievably great. The owner came by at least 3 times to check on us. The food was of course delicious. This will be our new go to for date night!!
