Burger me UUUPP!!! Park Burger def knows how to throw down a solid cheeseburger. Had dinner here a few months ago and left with a satisfied tummy and a big ol' smile on my face. They did ya girl good y'all... REAL good.
This place is sooo Oakland and I love that to DEATH! Their homage to Oakland is displayed all throughout the restaurant. They've got a huge map of Oakland as a backdrop for one of their walls. They use the names of Oakland's different districts as their "take-a-number" place holders, and they have the neatest pictures of what Oakland looked like back in the early 1900's in the restrooms. Yep, I noticed that. ALL of that. And, I loved it.
You wait in line, order at the window, and they'll give you a number or "district" that you can take to place on your table. When your food is ready, they'll deliver it to you. They've got a decent amount of seating inside, a large TV, and a few tables in front. They've got tons of burger and shake options as well as a few salads on the menu. If you know me then you know that I'm generally a classic gal when it comes to burgers. It was only right that this classic gal order their "Classic Cheeseburger" for din din.
I had their classic cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, and their specialty girl scout cookie mint milkshake. First things first; that girl scout cookie mint shake was theeeee friggin' BOOOMB diggity bomb, bay-bee! Literally tasted like I was straight up drinkin' a damn girl scout mint cookie. DEEEEELICIOUS! I can't imagine that they have this flavor year around, but if YOU see it on the menu... you best cop that sucka up REAL quick. Makin' me wish that girl scout cookie season was back in session.
Next... those sweet potato fries. THOSE fries. Dear Geezus. Loved them. I've recently developed this new obsession with sweet potato fries. If I see them on the menu now, more than likely they'll be in my mouth at some point. Park Burger slays those sweet potato fries like no other. Nice and crispy, wonderful flavor, and a beautiful presentation. The only downside is that they're aioli dipping sauce is so WEAK. It nearly put a tear to my eye. What's a good sweet potato fry without the bomb ass aioli??? Was a little disappointed with this, but luckily these fries were tasty enough to be eaten alone.
And finally; the cheeseburger. Noms! Nom, nom, nom, to the nom nom noooom. I STAN. Please peep the big ol' patty *correction*: Please peep the big ol' JUICY patty. With all that lovable melted cheese. And fresh vegetables to match. The bun could have been a little more toasted. Hell, the bun could have been waaay better in quality. It's a cheapy burger bun, but the patty is the true standout. Side note: If you want onions on your burger, you need to let them know when you order. Apparently, this doesn't come standard on their burgers. I need those raw onions in my life! They delivered on it. Once again, the aioli sauce was weak and lacked in flavor. Overall, it's still a very tasty burger. I'm sure their gourmet and specialty burgers are even better than their classic.
Service was wonderful from all staff members that I encountered, especially the lady that helped me at the ordering counter (didn't get her name). This spot is a bit spendy for a burger and fries but definitely worth the splurge if you're looking for a good quality burger. Will I be back for me? You betcha I will! Next time, I think I'll take a walk on the wild side and try one of their gourmet burgers instead
