Volunteer Park Cafe & Pantry Review - Capitol Hill - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The reimagining of this northern Capitol Hill classic is a home run simply based on the new pastries alone. And yeah, we’d eat sugar for breakfast on the daily if we lived in the neighborhood. We’re talking about things like savory tahini caramel bars, New York-style crumb cake muffins, and buckwheat chocolate chunk cookies with a salty, dulce de leche-like texture that softly crumbles like kinetic sand. But that would be ignoring their BEC, a majestic stack of paper-thin egg folds, bacon cooked just before it gets crispy, and yellow american that oozes between the layers and stretches like taffy, all on a homemade toasted poppy roll." - Aimee Rizzo

I had Turkish coffee and falafel! Both were fantastic. The owner is working there too so you’re so everything feels just right. The vibe is pretty cozy. I liked the seatings. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again for sure.

I was visiting my grandson and had breakfast at the café every morning... They had a very nice view of the midtown skyline and park... The service was excellent... I had excellent Lavazza coffee (black) and my grandson had fresh made orange juice... We both had omelets the first day and then croissant sandwiches the remaining mornings... They croissants were crisp and fluffy with good cheese, eggs, and bacon... I'll be back in December and will definitely be back to the Park Café...

Found this place by coincidence, we were vacationing and stayed at an Airbnb in Jersey, this place became our “go to “ spot for breakfast. The food here is made fresh to order with quality ingredients. Everything we ordered was so good, the owners and workers were very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this cafe and will definitely come back when in town.

Nice beautiful, aesthetically pleasing cafe, serve breakfast/brunch. The food was ok. The most I enjoyed freshly squeezed juice. Mine personal opinion it is overpriced, but have good selections. The location is perfect. Nice to go for a little still in the park, just across them , with the view of NYC skyline.

I used to come here often in the past. Then we moved and haven't been here since today after a long time we came back to enjoy lunch. The staff is very friendly. However the lunch was everything except enjoyable. I paid over $70 for lunch and ordered the next things: - 1x Orange juice - 1x Strawberry & banana smoothie - 1x Slice of the red velvet cake - 1x Order of fries - 1x Spicy turkey sandwich - 1x Crispy chicken wrap - 1x Steak salad The strawberry & banana smoothie I have send back it tasted very chemical/metallic. They gave me a hot chocolate instead. The Steak salad was really not enjoyable, the meat of the steak was so hard! You could almost say it was like hard plastic you would chew on. That salad is like $19 so NOT worth it! The fries were either really old or the oil they bake it in is really old. The red velvet was still frozen so I asked my money back for that. Honestly this whole place was a disappointment. They are super overpriced for absolutely no reason! Safe your money and go somewhere else.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Park Café & Eatery – West New York, NJ 📍 6001 JFK Blvd E, West New York, NJ 07093 💵 Price Range: $–$$ (most items under $10–25) 🕒 Hours: Mon–Fri 7 AM–8 PM | Sat–Sun 8 AM–8 PM ⸻ I stopped by Park Café for a quick pick-me-up and ended up loving my little brunch moment here. I ordered a cheese danish, a vanilla latte, and a strawberry smoothie—and honestly, everything hit the spot. The danish was buttery and flaky, the smoothie was super fresh and not too sweet, and the latte was smooth and just the right amount of vanilla. The vibe is cozy and laid-back, perfect for grabbing a bite or sitting with a laptop. It’s a cute neighborhood café that serves breakfast, lunch, and drinks at really fair prices. Service was friendly and quick, even with a steady flow of customers. It can get busy during brunch hours, but they keep things moving. ⸻ ✅ What I liked: • Great coffee & pastry selection • Chill atmosphere, ideal for casual meetups • Good prices for fresh food and drinks • Family-friendly spot with indoor & outdoor seating

I last visited this place about 5 years ago and the food was so bad I chose to never return. However, I looked it up on Google and realized it had good reviews. I went inside and saw there were new owners since my last visit. I finally tried it today and so so good! This is a true neighborhood cafe. I had an Edd and cheese on a brioche plate, which came with potatoes as well as the French toast. I also tried their chai latte. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. The food takes a little time but it’s because it’s made fresh and you can tell the moment you taste it. It’s a cozy atmosphere and very relaxing. Easy to get work done here. And of course you get a great view of the city. A little pricier than I’d imagine but all in all worth it! Also the gentleman in the front is SO POLITE and respectful. He has great manners, very welcoming. I’ll be back!
