Yelp
This is a really nice modern hotel to stay a few nights.
The interior design: Modern. They have ramp (for anyone wheelchair bound) and step access with automatic sliding doors as you enter into the lobby. On the right is an area that looks like a study where you can sit and do some reading. On the left is a waiting area with a painting on the wall and nice suede seating. There are also several leather seats around the lobby to sit in to lounge or wait. As you go straight the front desk staff are really friendly, as a tourist they will guide you to some restaurants and attractions like the Heineken Experience, Van Gogh Museum and The Anne Frank House. Hotel has elevators and stairs.
Make sure you don't get there before 2pm-1400hrs Amsterdam time because your room may not be ready. I believe on their website it shows a 1400 check-in time, I didn't book my hotel through their website so I did not know. So they didn't give me a room because I arrived early. I pleaded with the Front Desk lady and she was very insistent for me to check out some sights before coming back. They checked my luggage in thankfully and went for some breakfast, came back not at 1400 but at noon, three hours later still no room available, requested a room again, but Front Desk became snippy with an attitude. I insisted I was tired after a long flight, another half an hour passes and the bellhop finally comes out with my luggage and escorts me to my room. Besides the minor attitude they did give me my room one hour ahead of time.
Late at night they lock the entrance to the hotel, that's a good thing. On a late night out, came back at 3am-0300, I was able to ring a bell to a communication system and the staff let me in. Good Security. Cameras around the hotel.
Downstairs is a tiny little room, the gym, with some minor exercising equipment. Nice to keep up your physique. Trainers available, I believe at a cost. The bathrooms adjacent to the gym are very nice, neat napkins, clean and the material used to build it of good quality. You can lounge there and book the conference room there.
My room has a pretty nice view of one end of the hotel, though I did not get a front of hotel view. My room has a safe and a fridge with amenities like overpriced liquor, water and snacks. It has a 32 inch SAMSUNG flat screen with limited English channels. The little time I spent watching television was on CNN. The bathroom has very hot water, a tub and blow dyer. Bring your own tooth brush, toothpaste and razor. On the table is a electric pot to boil water for your instant coffee or tea. The cups they provide in the room are not dirty or overly worn, nice. Wireless or Ethernet is at a cost. There's a phone in the room. If you want to charge your American electronics say your laptop bring or buy a converter because remember they have European outlets. Laundry service available. My bed had nice clean fluffy white sheets. The lights can be turned on or off from multiple places including changing LED light behind your bed post from Red to Orange to Blue, etc. My room had Air Condition and Fan. There is a hinge lock in addition to the knob lock on the door and a hole to see out if someone knocks on your door. The staff is helpful. You can order meals to your room or dine at the connected restaurant next door. It is also a nice modern design. The hotel charges a few dollars tax like all the others per day.
Nearby is a park, shopping, luxury name brand clothing shops, the Holland Casino and the Heineken Experience. Right out side is a canal and a tour to cruise down it.
I recommend staying at this hotel.
I'll add photos when I get the chance.
