Park Central Square

It’s the Park Central Square. Depends on what you want to do here. If you’re just running errands stop by one of the local restaurants or hit up the library. I wish there were more shops on the square itself. Something like the Local Bevvy would be nice. Be aware of people camping out in the square when there’s not an event but most all seem very friendly. I have seen political incidents resulting in violence from protesters or punks but that’s rare imo coming from STL the crime here is beyond minuscule. Just be aware of your surroundings and don’t be an idiot. Events here are very disorganized. Just be ready to fight your way through a crowd 🙄 If everyone could stay in a single file line or the city organizing the events could put up lines so people understood what was happening would bring much more efficacy to the entirety of whatever event is being held.

The Park Central Square is an interesting and historic area. We liked the story boards strategically positioned around the square. There is also a nice fountain and several sculptures positioned all around the area. An interesting place to visit with lots to see.

A great place to relax, listen to music and in the winter, enjoy the beautiful Christmas display with a large Christmas tree in the center. Surrounding the square is the library, The Coffee Ethic, Civil Kitchen and Fox Theatre. Every day and every night can be different on the square, but something beautiful seems to always be happening behind the scenes. All types of pedestrian traffic, from families with children and homeless community members just trying to exist somewhere near safety of being seen, resources and power, everyone is safe here to exist or enjoy the local amenities of downtown. There's a feeling in the square like we're all waiting for something magical to happen soon.

Central Park Square in Springfield, MO, offers a charming small-town atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing strolls or enjoying the local shops and eateries. The Christmas tree and holiday lights are an absolute highlight, creating a magical and festive ambiance during the season. However, outside of the holiday period, the area can feel quite dark and could benefit from more lighting to keep the square inviting year-round. While the small-town charm is a major draw, it might be time for a modern update. Adding taller buildings and more vibrant lighting could enhance the square’s appeal and make it a more dynamic centerpiece for Springfield. This would not only improve the skyline but also provide more space for businesses and events, helping to draw in more visitors. Balancing its cozy feel with a touch of urban energy would make Central Park Square a standout destination for both locals and tourists.

A little walk in the park with the kids before dark, before dinner! very nice and peaceful. First time I have really walked around and checked all the sculptures out. Lots to see in the surrounding area!

Great place to walk and check out restaurants and the museum. Also tons of shops. The square can get a bit crowded sometimes but it's also the best place for local events. You'll find music festivals and food festivals and even protest all taking place in the square. It's a really unique part of Springfield and a must see. Still one of my favorite spots

A wonderful stop along our Route 66 journey! This central Square is loaded with historical details and information. Nice water fall area, lots of shops around for coffee, lunch or a quick bite to eat. If you have time to walk around and read the history markers around the square, you may learn something! Wild Bill Hiccock shot and killed someone over a card game debt! Union and Confederate battles were fought, 3 negros were unjustly hung in the square...lots of interesting trivia

It's a place that always is changing. Much to the taxpayers dismay? As of late there is some waterfalls, sometimes a pickup stick ball team, or league for something. And as of late a poor soul who considered jumping from one of the surrounding buildings. Thankfully the police seemingly was able to talk the gentleman down.
