Park East catered a party for us. The food was delivered on time, artfully arranged. The food was fresh and delicious. The chicken and beef platters had tender, flavorful pieces of chicken and steak. The empanadas were gobbled up, as were the other selections. Desserts were attractive and tasty. The best part is that Michael is a pleasure to work with. We look forward to using Park East for another event.

Avoid this store! Answered by phone opened till 3:30PM today but closed earlier and refused to open door. A few other customers who in the same situation near me said management disrespect customers before many times, it's usual. So I spend more precious time at evening before Yom Tov to buy candles etc because it's urgent. They lost my big family as permanent customers forever and got this 1 star review.

Have been using this place for a few years now. They always deliver on time and the meat comes fresh. This is the only place I know of that carries organic kosher meat!

Always attentive, clean as well as delicious food. Grocery products are up to date and a large selection. I’ve been a customer for over 25 years and grateful that they are here.

Park East Kosher is excellent in every area. Quality, customer service, attention to detail, variety. Their meat, poultry, and fish is incredibly fresh, and the store is always clean and well stocked. There is a wonderful selection of kosher cheeses, frozen items, canned goods, prepared dinners, and more recently fresh sushi too (delicious). Michael takes great care of his customers and has a dedicated team of friendly and thoughtful employees who are always smiling and eager to help. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality, delicious food and top notch customer experience.

After getting sick of all midtown kosher spots to cater from, Park East came highly recommended. Food is consistently good and fresh, AND they offer Sephardic finger foods too so this isn't your generic Ashkenazi butcher. Prices are fair, comparable to other places. Service is always friendly and they're very easy to deal with.

Park East Kosher is an UES staple. This is the only shop in the UES that has been in the neighborhood for a while. First, they have one of the BEST challah's I have ever tried, the Heimishe Challah (it's basically water / vegan challah). Fantastic, a real must try if you will buy anything here, buy the challah. Park east serves the needs of the kosher community well. It is a tad pricey even for kosher food but not much more than one would expect. They have consistency in quality, the in person service is very good and I can find things that are harder to find as well as prepared food for Shabbat as well as holidays (including July 4th and thanksgiving per their newsletter). I personally rely on park east for last minute things, the challah as well as meat if I am cooking GLatt instead of beit Yosef. Due to the price I buy as much as I can on the supermarket and for cooked items and Shabbat foods I get some here. They also have hard to find items and they are on instacart.

After today's experience I am lowering this business to Three Stars. I love the Spinach Knish and my first visit I forgot to take advantage of the 15% Yelp Check in discount. Today I was in the mood for the same Knish. I told the girl before I ordered. After my order was ready she needed assistance with the coupon to ring up the discount. A second employee said she needed the manager approval. She went to get him. He told her they don't honor the Yelp discount and Yelp did that without their permission. Regardless of what Yelp did or did not do, you rather risk losing a customer for a lousy 15% off on a $6.98 item. That is poor business judgment. Do they have that many Yelpers visiting and checking in? I don't think so! I'm not saying if I'll return or not. They do have items I would like to try. I'm not feeling comfortable with this type atmosphere. He could have come out to the register and told me himself also. To be continued....or maybe not!

Sure, it's a bit more pricey as compared to the local supermarkets, but you can't deny the quality kosher foods here. Their flaky baked products are delicious! I dropped in to grab a few for morning coffee today and loved them. Challah rolls and potato bourekas are terrific. Don't even pay attention to calories and just enjoy! This place is stocked full with all kinds of kosher products, fresh and prepared foods, refrigerated and frozen foods, baked items, pastries, sweets, butcher counter, salads, etc. I'll be back to pick up some things for dinners too. Im not Jewish but can appreciate the food here as it's so good. Very clean and organized. All staff had masks and gloves on. Also, I thought the counter staff had that NYC gruff shtick going on which I enjoy. Yet, they are pretty friendly guys.

We ordered a Thanksgiving meal for our family while visiting Whidbey Island, near Seattle. It was fabulous. Arrived on time and in great shape! Easy to reheat. Absolutely delicious!dahqa3-Gajjym-bibdek

When I left New York for good, there were things I used to eat and enjoy that I knew I would miss. One of those things was challah and pastries from Zomick's Bakery on Long Island. When I discovered that I could obtain anything I wanted from Zomick's by ordering through Park East Kosher, I was thrilled. They now have me as a customer for life. I have also sampled other items on their web site and everything has been first rate.

Help simply ignores you. Waiting at register to pay for purchase....until I decided to put items back and leave..

Stay away. Overpriced, disgraceful that they feel they can charge what they do just because it is Passover. $87 for 8 pieces of stuffed cabbage. How absolutely rude, disgusting, and flat out not caring for anyone but their own pocket books. I'm sick thinking about it.

Really impressed. The app was easy to use for a pick-up order. Some of the items weren't available, so the staff called to discuss substitutions. It was crowded, which made me a little nervous, but they took care of everyone very quickly in both the front and back of the store, so I was out quickly. Everyone was nice from start to finish, the selection is fantastic and the store is modern and clean.

This butcher delivers straight to my office and i am always satisfied with the level of quality. My personal favs are Aged steaks premade burgers home made soups The also have a wide variety of cheeses and other groceries def check them out.

I have to give it one star because Yelp does not allow any less. You can read every other review and the sentiment is the same. This establishment is an embarrassment to all Jews. It gives us a bad name. Its employees who speak broken English are out right abusive and disrespectful. As you read in other reviews, you can stand at the counter and be totally ignored. This type of behavior begins from the top down and since Park East makes their money on their wealthy clientele, anyone who walks into the store is nothing more than a peon and mistreated as such. ... As an update - I telephoned Park East and spoke with the owner who apologized and said he was aware of how his employees were mistreating me and that what was happening was unacceptable, amongst other statements he made. Nevertheless, he did not intercede and allowed this to happen. I will not return to this store. I will make future purchases at Fairway on East 86th Street with pre-packaged Kosher meat, The Kosher Market Place at 2442 and Broadway @ 91st Street or Fischer Bros. & Leslie 230 West 72nd Street off of Broadway. I cannot allow myself to be exposed to this level of abuse let alone at a place of business where I am the customer.

Agree with the other reviewers about the staff here. I knew it was expensive, but a lot of the food is quality. But I'll never go back because of the deli sandwich guys, who took 20 minutes to *start* my turkey sandwich - despite being the only customer there at 3pm (beside the guy that came after me, whine they take care of after I ordered, but before my sandwich???). When i saw that they were just beginning after all that wait, I said forget it, then I got major attitude about all *their* time *I* wasted. I said you don't even have the hero out yet! They said, the rye is right here! I ordered a hero 3x! We don't even have heroes! Haha. I think one of the guys was new and didn't know wtf yet. And I'm like the nicest guy!! :)

For people that are supposed to stand for love and benevolence they have some very unstable and rude people working for them. The first girl Desiree is dangerously obnoxious and told me that I had to spend $50 + delivery to send a small token gift to a business associate for a Shiva. When I asked her if I could spend a little less she BLEW UP at me and passed me to someone else. The next girl had an absolute heart attack and HUNG UP IN MY FACE when I asked her to include an enclosure with my gift do the people receiving it would know it was from me. Very bad experience and seemingly untrustworthy to handle details of an order. SO DISAPPOINTING!!

So sad to give a negative review. But get it together! With so many people behind the counter and only 2 people waiting to be served there should be no reason for a 15 minute wait! The place is literally filthy! See my photos for proof please. The meat trays are not cleaned before restocking and I can't even imagine the amount of bacteria is all over the old meat grunge at the bottom. The freezer temperatures are not set to New York City health codes.. Which is not good for the food. And upon politely requesting service.. Three guys turned around and said your going to have to wait. What? Now all of a sudden people want to be attentive?! Insane.

Great neighborhood store but had to walk out today without my purchases. Waiting to pay and the owner/manager began to scream, berating his employees & using words such as bullish..t. Glad I wasn't with a child but left my purchases and walked out. Very disturbing & inappropriate & won't be going back .

Would be a five stars if their employees weren't so all over the place. I wanted a knish and 1/2 pound of kugel and it took ten minutes for her to get my order. I was the ONLY person ordering. This is an amazing spot on the UES if you need a cholent bean mix or something special in a pinch. Everything is glatt kosher which is really (strangely) hard to find in the city

I tried ordering from here three times on DoorDash. Each time, the order was severely mangled. On one occasion, the order was sent in at 11 am, and by 3, it could not be fulfilled. They managed to screw up simple sandwich and soda orders, and the operation there seems entirely mismanaged and inefficient. The corned beef and brisket were actually pretty decent, though. I just don't like paying for things I don't receive. In addition, a rabbi sued them for selling infested produce, returned meats, and labor abuses.

I am stunned that Park East only received 3 stars! I have been going there for about 13 years and the quality of meats is absolutely flawless. The owner is an excellent person who treats all of his workers with dignity and respect. He is also a no nonsense person who addresses complaints by patrons in a professional, personable manner. The butchers are very knowledgeable about meats and how to cook them. They also have prepared foods that are always fresh and delicious! I strongly recommend Park East Kosher.

Wander the aisles, freezer cases and you will find wonderful treats....like the Park East brand of frozen mini beef empanadas!

Staff was extremely helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. They had everything for Passover including pre-made sedar plates. Very good quality. Store was extremely clean. Will definitely be back.

I use these guys for catering a lot - ordering is always super easy & the food is always great. Also they are quick to get back to me whenever I need an extra copy of my receipt sent over!

Extremely disturbing and disrespectful employee. I moved next door this week and was really looking forward to discovering what this place had to offer. I walk in and the African American woman at the cash register scowls at me. This was very strange. I asked a stock boy for help and he told me the cash register woman would be able to help me. I ask her for help and she then proceeded to ignore me and greet another customer who was all the way across the store 50 feet away (I was right in front of her), she then angrily turns to me and says "everything is in the fridge" and quickly turns away from me. Wow! The item was actually not in stock on the floor which is why I asked for help. The stock boy saw what happened and immediately tried to remedy the situation by going down to get chicken stock from storage. I was pretty shaken by how she treated me and I stood in the store for a long time debating if I should still buy from here since my business was not welcome. From her behavior I knew she had profiled me by the color of my skin because the customers she was greeting and eagerly speaking to were all white. She definitely was under the impression I was not a local. After a few minutes deliberating, I realized that I was better off not supporting this business until this employee is trained better. As a resident of the same street this shop is on, Park East Kosher Butchers will forever be known to my friends, family and I as the shop that racially profiled me. Local professional residents of color should think twice before coming here. Whole Foods is only a few blocks further west.

I keep kosher and live around the corner--so this should be my match made in heaven. It isn't. The lack of stars isn't for the lack of quality--I generally am very satisfied with their selection and quality. But the wait? I understand you're a small place--but c'mon. For the rudeness and amount of time I'm made to wait to pay for a simple order--I could have gone cross town to super sol and back again. Twice.

Delicious, down-home, chicken soup is surprisingly hard to come by, but you can find it here. The soup includes very generous portions of shredded chicken, fresh herbs, and tasty matzoh balls. The broth is not overly salty and nicely seasoned. It's the simple things in life that are often hard to get right--you can get it right here. (After writing the review above, I returned for the pastrami sandwich. One of the worst I've ever had in my life. Taking one star off the review for the trauma inflicted by miserable, tasteless, $13 pastrami sandwich.)

I've always wanted a butcher. I've never really liked buying shrink-wrapped, styrofoam-packed meat at the grocery store. Where did this chicken come from and how did it get into this styrofoam tray, I ask. Now, at Park East, I can get exactly what I want without worrying about where it came from. The best part though are the helpful Jewish butchers. Maybe I have a lost-and-confused look about me, but every time I go about 5 guys ask if they can help me. They'll cut whatever you want for you, show it to you before they wrap it up, and even give you advice on what to do with it. Besides meat and helpful Jewish men, this teeny-tiny place has all manner of Kosher cheeses, breads, prepared food and packaged food. The only downside is that the hours are somewhat inconvenient if you're not an observant Jew - they close for shabbat a few hours before sunset on Fridays - and they're only open until 7:30 Mon-Wed. But if you live in the neighborhood, it's worth taking the time to stop in on the way home from work or to make a trip on Sunday.

You might be scared away by the staff's gruffness, but it's largely shtick. Once you get their attention, they are unfailingly polite and helpful--and often very funny. The meat and chicken are good quality, and the prepared foods are fine, if a little bland and heavy. There's are cold cases with a nice selection of cheeses and frozen foods, and a reasonable showing of grocery items, especially Israeli products. My main problem is that the store is incredibly crowded half the time. The layout is a series of dead ends, so naturally everyone is in a bad mood by the time they leave. If you know what you want, call ahead and have it delivered. If you want to hang out and shop, go midweek or go to New Jersey.

I worked with Liron on a large catering order for a Bris at a shul in Midtown. He did a fantastic job - not only was the quality of the food top notch, but he and his crew personally went to set up the display and the tables to make sure everything looked nice and presentable. All of my guests had rave reviews. He also was a great help in ordering and coordinating a beautiful balloon and teddy bear display. Great attention to detail and customer service. Highly recommend for your next simcha or occasion!

Great quality of food, the place is super clean and their staff is incredible helpful. I'm very glad that I found them and the best of all is that they deliver.

This place is a rat infested dump. Walked in to pick up some food for Passover this week and literally saw 2 baby mice playing tag behind the counter while people walked around helping customers. While it looked like the mice were having fun my stomach lost its appetite and I walked out right away. When I told them owner what I saw he smirked and walked away. Disgusting!

After placing a complaint with Park East Kosher, I was pleasantly surprised with an immediate and courteous response. The manager, Mr. Murray, provided me with a complimentary meal (exact order as the previous order) and the results were much better - 4 Stars. The corned beef was not dry, the coleslaw was very good (not sweet) and the service was excellent. If the pickle was good I would have given it 5 stars - I don't care for the taste of the pickle that is provided with your meal. Overall - very good and I'm now satisfied customer and would place an order with Park East Kosher in the very near future.

I was a customer for years, but will not shop here again. I have never been a fan of the underwhelming customer service and sometimes the prepared food has not been the freshest, but have continued to shop here as it's convenient. Last night was the last straw. I waited at the counter (the only person at that time) for many minutes before any of the workers acknowledged my presence. When I requested a tin be used instead of the plastic for the mashed potatoes for heating up purposes, I was told I didn't order enough to use it and I'd have to use a plastic container. The final straw was the absolutely rude African American woman checking me out. I asked her how much an item was and her snippy answer was " look at the price - it's right there." I will ONLY shop at Kosher Marketplace on the UWS from now on as the food is delicious, fresh and they have a variety of healthy choices/allergy aware items that are in line with today's times. The people are accommodating and they value you as a customer. I will also encourage my friends to do the same who have all found Park East inconsistent all around.

Always come here for food for the holidays and on Friday's to bring my grandparents food. The service is always lovely thanks to Stephanie and the staff and really you do not get better chicken noodle soup in all the five boroughs.

Great Jewish deli. Fast pace and action packed all day. This is a true New Yorkers deli. You have to be vocal and aggressive in here or you will never get your order in!

My wife and i order from Park East Butcher practically every week - without them our Shabbat dinners wouldn't be possible. Good quality meat and prepared foods, good and attentive service even when they are busy. When it comes to kosher butchers on the UES this is the only place to go.

If I could give a negative 5 stars-I would. Called Friday morning to place an order. Was told that it would come anytime before Shabbat. I called 5 hours later to see if the delivery person was on the way and they claimed they never got my order. I placed another order and was told again that it would come before sundown. Well I never received my order that Friday. Sure enough Sunday morning a man was ringing our doorbell at 9AM. Who arrives unannounced with an order at 9am on a Sunday? The package was ripped with the meat sticking out of one of the packages. I called on Sunday and was told to call on Monday to discuss with the owner. I called on Monday and the owner said he has to find out when the delivery was actually made. Shouldn't a business have this information at its fingertips. I have never encountered so many "human errors" while dealing with a business. My family and friends have used them before and I will be sure to share their story of incompetence.

Stopped in for the first time, and was amazed at their amazing customer service! Everyone is very helpful and friendly, great neighborhood shop that builds personal relationships with each customer. Selection of products is unbeatable.

Update - the meat arrived at my brother's today, nearly two months after I ordered it..

Prices are outrageous. I bought food for Shabbat this week - spinach kugel had mold, turkey meatloaf had already gone sour. Counter people swore was cooked that day. This is the second time this has happened. Shame on them for selling soured food for Shabbat.

the food is decent enough. HOWEVER......, there is a huge problem with this place when it comes to service and overall experience. going there is a complete cluster-f. no space, poor service, and a manager that is obnoxious to staff and patrons alike- actually find it hard to be around (especially as this person's behavior/attitude is an embarrasment to members of the faith and paints us in a horrible light)-maybe not growing up in nyc, i'm more delicate and not used to this type of character. LOL. so i figured i would order online. ordered the night before for friday night shabbat dinner. supposed to have been delivered between 12-2. at 2:45 i called to check on the order and was told that it would be there by 3:45 at the latest. Absurd as that is, i had no option but to wait for the order. at 3:45 i called back and was told by a different staff member that it was delivered and was with my doorman, and then was hung up on. odd, as my building usually would call up. checked with the doorman, and they of course never received the delivery. called back (a third time now), and they said that it would be there by 4:30. they stated that they couldnt reach their delivery guy, and a multitude of other excuses and lies. was told that it was right before shabbat so they had a lot of orders. duh.. thats why i ordered it thursday night for a 12-2 delivery. its offensive to have to wait 4:30 hrs for a simple delivery. asked to speak to above manager (murray), who lived up to his crassness and low quality customer service. never thought to ask what he could do for the inconvenience, continued with the excuses/lies, and upset that i was wasting his time. if they simply would have said, hey, we messed up, sorry, we understand that its pretty ridiculous to have waited this long, what can we do to make it better (or even just take the initiative and say, we will knock off x % of your order) then all would have been forgiven. however, no apologies at all. hard to believe that they can stay in business with they way they treat customers. they are not the only game in town. supersol-now seasons delivers and there are plenty of places on long island. park butchers is right there as well (though more expensive). its a shame that i will have a hard time patronizing this place, as the food is pretty good.

I am not Kosher, but for guests and holidays I often find myself getting food here. Especially for Passover. The staff is always incredibly helpful - the gruffness is definitely schtick. They cater to all kinds of special orders, so I even got my Thanksgiving turkey here!

We don't keep kosher but every once in a while we need kosher meat for holidays and special guests. Even though we've moved to another part of the city we come back for their hot dogs. They are fantastic! All our suburban friends ask us to buy some for the BBQs we attend. It's worth a trip just for the hot dogs, but while I am there I also pick up brisket which is always good.
