Dining Room

"This high-ceilinged room with full-length windows affords panoramic river views, while the home-style furniture, warm lighting and booth seating make for a cosy feel. On the menu, Jiangzhe classics meet creative recipes that are rarely found elsewhere, such as steamed belt fish with fermented grains. Nicely pleated xiao long bao with umami-loaded soupy filling are simply unmissable – as are the appetisers." - Michelin Inspector

"The tallest hotel in mainland China occupies floors 79 to 93 of the Shanghai World Financial Center, the 101-story skyscraper made by Mori Building, developer of Tokyo ’s Roppongi Hills complex. As expected, any room or public area in the property likely has jaw-dropping views. Interiors mirror the aesthetics of a cultured modern Chinese residence, with sequences of gates, halls, and chambers as thoroughfares, and earth tones complementing natural materials. Monochromatic rooms have walls finished in linen, lacquer, and slatted-wood panels, with generous daybeds, 24-hour butler service, and plasma televisions embedded in the bathrooms’ vanity mirrors. But really, no amenity can top the incredible views."

Park Hyatt Shanghai

"Asia's second most vertiginous hotel is on floors 79 through 93 of the Shanghai World Financial Center, in the Pudong district. All 174 generous-sized rooms provide jaw-dropping Shanghai or Pudong panoramas, cloud-like bedding, and cashmere-soft carpets, and come with extra touches such as diagrams to explain the light switches and even motion sensor-operated heated commode seats. Owner Minoru Mori, who built Toyko's groundbreaking Roppongi Hills complex, influenced the art here, which includes hundreds of kitsch ceramics by Liu Jianhua hanging from the ceiling of 100 Century Avenue, a highly recommended showplace restaurant on the ninety-first floor. Two additional restaurants and 12 elegant private dining rooms offer everything from comfort food such as soup dumplings to formal banquets."

We booked altogether 3 rooms (2 rooms using my wife’s name), and used one of my Guest of Honor award, so we could get 2 more breakfasts. Ms Bella Zhang at the Front Desk was super kind and helpfull that she offered us additional 2 complimentary breakfasts so we could all enjoy breakfasts as a whole family. Honestly that was very generous of her, I am truly gratefull. You should have more people like Ms Bella, who can assess the guests’ situation and quickly make decisions yo make their stay much more enjoyable. Thank you!

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt in the World Financial Tower in Shanghai for one night, from May 3rd to May 4th. I booked a Bund View room, and while the view was spectacular, the overall experience left something to be desired. The room was spacious but sparsely decorated, with a small TV and a somewhat awkward bathroom layout. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows went flat quickly.Check-in was quick and the staff was friendly, though my request for a higher floor wasn’t accommodated. The check-out process was smooth. However, I was disappointed by the need to pay a deposit despite being a platinum member, and by the lack of complimentary minibar items, which I’ve come to expect in similar hotels.I didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked nice with a great view. Unfortunately, the hotel’s dress code policy meant I couldn’t dine at their restaurants since I wore shorts on a hot day, which felt inconvenient. This led me to dine at the Jin Mao Tower next door, which offered a lovely buffet.Overall, while the view was stunning and the bed comfortable, the room felt overpriced for what it offered. I’d recommend considering the neighboring Jin Mao Tower for a better value and experience.

Staying at the Park Hyatt Shanghai is an experience like no other – the hotel starts on the 79th floor of the Shanghai World Financial Centre, so you’re quite literally living in the clouds. The views are breathtaking from every corner – whether you're swimming in the infinity pool, having breakfast, or just relaxing in your room, you’re always surrounded by incredible panoramas of the city. The pool, called "Water’s Edge", is especially magical – it feels like it disappears into the sky.||The food is excellent – especially The Dining Room, which focuses on elegant Jiangnan cuisine. The flavours are light and refined, and you can really taste the care in every dish. The design of the hotel is beautiful too – all warm tones, modern art, and a peaceful, almost club-like atmosphere. Speaking of clubs, the Park Salon on the 86th floor is well worth the extra fee. It’s not your typical hotel lounge – more like a calm, chic hideaway with stunning views, flowing drinks, great snacks and light meals throughout the day. It feels like you’re floating above the city in your own private sky lounge.||A stay at Park Hyatt Shanghai is more than just a hotel experience – it’s a serene, sky-high escape that blends stunning views, refined dining, and thoughtful luxury in every detail. It’s Shanghai at its most elevated, literally and figuratively.

Park Hyatt Shanghai is one of my favorite luxury hotels. Every stay brings me a sense of inner peace. Its design perfectly embodies the 'less is more' philosophy. Not to mention the breathtaking city views and the truly exceptional restaurants. I make it a point to stay there regularly, and it's always wonderful. Highly recommended!

It is truly an incredible hotel. The views from the 91st floor are just mind blowing. It is one of a kind and once in a lifetime experience to wake up on the 84rd floor and see the bund from the top. Location is very good but you will still need to go to the metro and ride 1 stop to get to Nanjing road. Nevertheless the metro is easy to access and extremely cheap. Breakfast is high quality with a buffet and a À la carte menu.

This is my third stay in just the past year. Each for a week at a time so I think I've got a pretty good feel for the hotel.||The standout feature of the hotel is the sky-high view, which is of course stunning. But that's not the only reason I give the hotel high marks. Hard and soft products are both outstanding. ||Room - The standard rooms are spacious with plenty of room to stretch out with lots of storage options. A slight criticism could be that the furnishings are spartan and while it might be time for a refresh, everything is in very good condition and well maintained. The view and the windows are spectacular regardless of which direction you get. Bed, sheets, and pillows are excellent.||Bathroom - A separate section b/c the bathrooms are amazing. Separate room for the Japanese bidet/ toilet. The shower/ tub wet area is bigger than most bathrooms. And the water pressure from the rain bath is so good this is probably my favorite shower in the world.||Pool/ Gym - The pool and surrounding lounge area are one of my favorite areas to relax in the hotel. When I've arrived early and my room isn't ready, I just head for these loungers and sleep. Like the rest of the hotel, the view from the pool is stunning.| The locker room area has a dry sauna and a few showers and some lockers. Nothing special but adequate for what it needs to be.| The gym is medium size. Nothing spectacular but good enough with all modern Technogym equipment.||Spa - It's not really a full on spa so much as a few treatment rooms on the same floor as the gym and the locker room. The treatments I tried were well done but this isn't a full on spa experience like some of the other 5 star hotels in the area. More an afterthought.||Public spaces - the lobby bar is an excellent space taking advantage of the same views.||Breakfast - Excellent spread as you'd expect of Asian, 5 star hotels. Multiple stations with both western and asian dishes. XLB, Pot Stickers, Wanton soup, Congee, Soy Milk, etc. Lots and lots of excellent fresh fruit. Western included hash browns, sausages and bacon, mushrooms, bread table, cold cuts. ||Service - Friendly and responsive. Exactly how I like it. Starting from when you arrive with the bellhop. Door open and helps with the luggage. Friendly smile from the front desk as they check you in. Even the security guard at the elevator jumps to push the elevator call buttons for you. Needed housekeeping to deliver some additional items and that happened quickly. Room service reception was helpful and delivery people were great. I had to email the front desk some changes to my stay and they responded immediately and took care of everything. My personal favorite was a few of the chefs at breakfast that were super friendly and got to know my orders so were ready for me as I walked up to get what I wanted.||As an aside - on trips in prior years post Covid (2023), the hotel seemed to have a few service glitches. Not a surprise as I think everyone was running short staffed or missing staff. Language seemed a particular challenge. Over the past 12 months, I've seen an improvement with each visit. I think some of the complaints during that time period were legitimate. Reduced breakfast offerings and language limited/ less capable service levels. From what I can tell, management has been working hard to rectify those minor quibbles and have been proactive and responsive in improving the standard.||Globalist - I've been upgraded from the base room to a better room with a view each time. I used a suite upgrade for my most recent trip and was able to confirm the standard Park Suite which was an outstanding room. Standard suites are unfortunately, extremely limited at this hotel so those are tough.

A superb hotel in the heart of Shanghai Business District. Very comfortable room for a well-deserved rest among a busy schedule, ensuring you waking up fresh and ready. Breakfast at 100 Century is a delicious spread every morning to fill up your energy for the day. Definitely one of my favourite hotel in Asia.

I had a great stay at Park Hyatt Shanghai. As expected, the view from the room was amazing. While the in-room technology and amenities aren’t the most up-to-date, the space was nonetheless very comfortable and well-appointed. I would have appreciated a more complete late-night room service menu, as well as the ability to order directly via WeChat (as is possible at Park Hyatt Guangzhou).I really liked the bathroom layout, especially the high-pressure rainfall shower. The staff at every level, including the concierge were outstanding: warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic. The bar and restaurant on the 91st floor was another highlight, a great service and one of the best if not the best view of the city.
