Parker Guest House

My friends and I stayed at the Parker House for a girls get-away vacation before heading to wine country. The Parker House was a very charming BNB and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were very clean and quiet. The manager, Angela, was wonderful - very attentive and informative. The neighborhood was safe but we felt it was a bit out of the way from the attractions we went to see, but Uber was an easy way to get around.

Nice property with good character. The location is good for the Castro and takes about 40 mins to get to Pier 39 via public transport. The welcome was okay but brief. We were given one key to share and despite being promised a second key, this did not happen. We had a room on the front of the property which was a good size, although there was a TV and chest of drawers in the wardrobe which left very little hanging space. There was no view from the window as the trees in front of the property have grown tall and block the windows. There is a tram line which runs past the front of the property on Church Steet which can be handy. However, the trams are very noisy and run all day from very early, 7 days a week. We had practically no sleep during our time there.|Breakfast was okay although, despite being advertised to be available from 07:30, it was not. We had lots of things planned during our stay and as the tram had woken us before 5am we were prompt to breakfast. The staff at breakfast were far from engaging. We were disappointed to see that some of the cling wrapped bread put out for breakfast was green with mould and despite pointing this out, the bread basket was not refreshed.|Our room was not serviced in the 4 nights we were there and the fresh towels we asked for on day 3 felt reluctantly left outside the door during the day. At no point did any of the staff ask us if were were enjoying our stay or if our room was okay On check out we felt that they couldn't get rid of us fast enough.|I would say that our stay at Parker Guest house was okay, but nothing special.

This was a wonderful place to stay in SF! The rooms and common spaces were beautiful and full of surprises. Breakfast was wonderful each morning, with plenty of choices. The fresh flowers throughout the house were a nice touch. The guest house is conveniently located to the street car and the Mission District and the Castro. This will be my new go to in SF!

Stayed at the Parker Guest house to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the staff and even other guests who were mostly returning there (one guest said they stay there monthly!). Loved the atmosphere of the Victorian house and beautiful garden area to enjoy the wine and cheese social at 5:30. We walked across the street and up the hill to the best spot for viewing the city from Dolores Park. The breakfast was perfect to get fueled for a day of exploring. We will definitely stay there again!

The rooms were very comfortable and extremely clean, even if small. Ours had a lovely view of the garden. The garden is a treasure. Loved the splashing of the fountain. The location is very quiet and I slept really well in the comfortable bed. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of fresh fruit, all kinds of pastries and breads, cereals, etc. There were many restaurants in walking distance. The street car was a few blocks away and went directly to fisherman's wharf. The Bart was a 15 minute walk. I will definitely stay here again.

We spent four nights at Parker Guest House and it was one of the highlights of our trip to California. It was slightly over our budget but was worth every penny. From the staff who were super helpful, to the amazing breakfast provided every morning and the cheese, wine and nibbles from 5.30pm it was just wonderful. We also had the opportunity to meet lots of other travellers and it was great to listen to stories and receive recommendations whilst enjoying a glass of wine !||The only downside to our stay was that we had a room at the front of the guesthouse and it was very noisy with the trams passing by frequently but it meant we were always up early to start our day of sightseeing which was a positive.||Will be recommending Parker Guest House to anyone that is travelling to San Francisco.

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed for numerous reasons! The location was great and we felt safe the entire trip. The added option for parking made it the perfect choice before even showing up. It was worth the extra fee. Carl and David went over the top to answer all our questions about the area, food, and transportation. The included breakfast was perfect and the wine hour was such a nice added bonus. The room was nice and clean and the rest of the B&B really felt like home, with the living space to sit in and garden/lawn area to enjoy. This was an all around 10/5 experience. If in the area, you must stay!

I had the most wonderful stay at Parker Guest House in May 24. The stunning property is straight out of ‘Tales of the City’ and my room was spacious, bright, and looked out over the beautiful gardens. Having a lovely continental breakfast each day was fuelling for a day of exploring. From the Parker it’s an easy 10-minute walk up to the Castro and the Muni station which takes you everywhere you’ll want to go. This stay was recommended to me by friends who had stayed there in the past and I’m now passing it on.

This is a beautiful and charming guesthouse. Everything is pristine and bright and lovely. Fresh flowers and lilies that perfume the air, and a gorgeous little yard with a fountain and seating nooks. Wine in the afternoon and a lovely breakfast. Friendly and helpful hosts. Fabulous location. It really had everything.

Caveat: my wife and I didn't stay here overnight during our visit, so take this review with a grain of salt. That said, the reason for our visit was to hang out with the current caretakers, Carol and Brian, who were the caretakers of the Portland White House two years ago (in Portland, OR, obviously), where my wife and I were married. They are wonderful people, and if they're the ones running the Parker Guest House, then we have no doubt that any visitor will be in excellent hands. You couldn't ask for a better pair of humble servants, who will bend over backward to make your stay as pleasant as possible!

Best place to stay in the Mission area. Close to great bars and restaurants. The owners and staff are all so wonderful, and genuinely make you feel at home. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic. Go sit out in the garden behind the kitchen. It is pretty magical. They have a library with a fireplace, and a good brandy to sip on at your leisure. We took advantage of this after we went to a really nice dinner at Starbelly that the owner suggested. Also a great suggestion and we plan to go back. The kitchens are stocked with tea, and some snacks during your stay. The availability of a nice hot cup of tea at night was really nice. They have a nook that has all kinds of visiter information, including restaurant's within walking distance. If you have a question, ask! They are knowledgeable and helpful. Already booked our next stay in SF here since we loved our experience!

A lovely place to stay with beautiful grounds. An expanded continental breakfast and an evening social hour with wine and snacks. Our room was small, but very clean and well appointed. A decent sized bathroom and closet, which was good for San Francisco. Many dining options within a 5-10 minute walk. I highly recommend the Parker Guest house.

Love this place is immaculately clean and restocked constantly. The management that runs this place is so professional and courteous. The rooms are amazing, I got the feel of living back in the early 1900's with its ambience. It's our 2nd time here and will be going back, when going back to San Francisco. Close enough to Castro Street. All walking distance. You will not regret staying here.

Beautiful, comfy and charming place with excellent service. We loved the happy hour with delicious wine and sat in their lovely garden. The inn has sitting rooms, a kitchen in each building and a decent continental breakfast. Good size room and comfy bed. We loved it. Great walkable neighborhood. A short walk to a huge park or to Castro street. Many coffee shops, restaurants, gift shops nearby and close to public transportation.

My husband and I really enjoyed our one night staycation at Parker Guest House. I was able to get a morning-of reservation (last room available) as a surprise little getaway. Our initial greeting to the property was warm and welcoming. The room was cozy with a private bath and the bed was very comfy. The outdoor space is amazing and not commonly seen in SF. The brandy with glasses near the fireplace in the living room was a nice touch and perfect for a nightcap. The property is very close to Dolores Park and located in the Castro near lots of bars and restaurants.

This is a beautiful little bed and breakfast in the Mission neighborhood of SF! I was so impressed by everything! The communication was excellent, the house was impeccably clean and they were very careful with COVID precautions-- all the staff were masked and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. The happy hour wine and snacks were lovely and we loved the unlimited brandy. The breakfast was great too- fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee and more-- all individually wrapped for COVID precautions. The room was quiet and lovely. Patio and back yard was so peaceful and green! And there is private parking available for an additional fee. Overall HIGHLY recommend!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stayed one night at this cozy boutique property in late October in a king superior room. We chose the place to be away from the tourism center and close to our sons apartment. Our room was on the lower level fronting busy church street but it also came with an intimate outdoor patio and private gated entrance/exit to the street. We stayed in room 30 which was quite spacious and comfortably furnished. As the origin of the property is Victorian era homes (two) converted into b&b accommodations, expect narrow halls, lower ceilings and unique spaces. Our bathroom had all that we needed but wasn't huge and had only a single sink which was just fine for our brief stay. I liked the bed and pillows but the room was a bit warm at night-no a/c and we didn't feel comfortable opening the street side windows. There was a small window open in the bath. Our room came with breakfast which due to Covid was continental only but still quite lavish with bagels, pastries, fruit, granola, coffee, juice and more. Plenty of choices for us. Parking is limited but we were able to request a space in their secured courtyard in advance. Speaking of courtyards, they have a bunch of outdoor seating areas in cloistered gardens and we enjoyed an hour sitting in the sunshine after we arrived. Perfect for a night or two.

Just posted four video clips of the dust in Room 24, unfortunately Yelp limits video to 12 seconds per clip. The room was very dusty. Things you should not have in a hotel at this price point in San Francisco. When you've had a confrontation with the host that was unnecessary, one becomes more critical of a property. And when a guest in your party has the door slammed in their face by that host while the host is on speaker phone with the co-owner, followed by "we are under-staffed"... this only leads me to believe why the host seemed so on edge. Maybe rather than floral arrangements... pick up a dust rag and help your staff shortage. Oh... and one more thing William, the snide comment regarding the Aston Martin that you said to the person of our party was unnecessary. It's clear to me you did NOT get the point of the comment, with the tight quarters for vehicles in that category. Behavior was unprofessional of Carol and you William as owners of the Parker House towards paying guests.

Amazing turn of the century inn. Beautiful. Flowers everywhere both inside and out. Quaint with wine afternoon and lovely breakfast served in sun room. Hist Carol and Brian so friendly and accommodating. It is all about detail, great low key environment.

This place needs some updating: fresh paint, new mattresses, etc. The breakfast was lacking. I realize, it is just continental breakfast, but they need some fresher options and better coffee. (However, Note that there are plenty of options nearby for coffee and full breakfast.) On the other hand, this place has many positives: Excellent location close to the Mission and Castro neighborhoods. The J Church line Muni runs right by the front door and provides easy access to Noe Valley and also the Downtown area. Friendly staff. Nice wine reception and garden area. We met many of our fellow guests and enjoyed their company. Beautiful living room with fireplace and complimentary brandy! It was a nice place to relax at the end of the day. Excellent prices given the location and despite my complaints above, I felt this was a great value and I would stay here again.

A simply wonderful oasis in the middle of an exciting city! So many great food and shopping options within walking distance. The staff communicated very effectively, we're very kind and attentive, and made our stay really wonderful. The paid parking is worth the fee! We very very comfortable with our car being safe and it was easy to access. We will be back!!

Enjoyed our recent stay at Parker Guest House. Clean, Cozy & Quiet! Carla was helpful securing our reservation over the phone and was even more personable and pleasant in person--not to mention very helpful with local recommendations. Parker Guest House was the ideal site for us as it was a short walk to our venue and is also conveniently located to many restaurants, etc. The grounds are lovely and we appreciated the option for private parking. Looking forward to our next visit.

5 stars for service and friendliness. What a gem and great find. We had two two day stays, one at the beginning of a trip out west and one at the end. Two different rooms, each clean, nice lighting, comfortable beds. Loved the continental breakfast, nice fresh fruit, tables with flowers and great coffee!! We liked very much access to the fridge for our cheeses and wines bought as we wandered the city. What really stood out was the friendliness of the staff, from restaurant recommendations to directions to just being interested in who you are. A special treat was the wine and snacks offerred in the afternoon. Since we travel to San Fran to see family I know we will plan to stay here again!

Absolutely lovely BnB run by some very kind and knowledgable people. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous, rooms cozy and well appointed. Everything down to breakfast was perfect, will be back

I could not believe how amazing the Parker Guesthouse was, with the kindest staff and the cleanest rooms I've ever been in. The breakfasts were nothing over the top but everything we needed, the wine social was delightful, and the grounds were gorgeously kept gardens. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy, and I wish we could've stayed forever, it was a peaceful oasis in a bustling city!

I am a local and had to seek housing outside my building. WOW !! What an incredible experience. The only drawback was the TV remote. Was confusing and took too much effort. Overall an amazing experience and the pastries with breakfast were out of this world. Thank You

Very nice guesthouse located between Mission and Castro. The light filled back veranda where breakfast is served has a stunning view of Twin Peaks as well as of the courtyard garden below. Adriel who works part time there was so kind and wise and gracious to me. A real gem. The location of the guesthouse is another asset, being a block away from Delores Park and on 18th street, close to the Castro as well. A wine hour is a nice way to mingle with other guests in the afternoon. Sound does seem to travel easily within the building and grounds.

Today we arrived with our friends to celebrate a 60th birthday and after my husband and had stayed three times in the past, we raved about the Parker House. We all made the reservations in APRIL, making sure to state we wanted to be near each other's rooms. (Our friend checked his confirmation today and it clearly stated "this reservation is attached with the [our name] reservation). Upon arrival my husband and were so excited to get into the room we were accustomed to and be near our friends. The owner Carol, who's new says to our friends, OK let take you up to your room #24 and I'll be back to take you to your room". I found this strange since we should have been near them. In a few minutes she takes us downstairs to a "Garden Room", which basically is a basement room with half windows that you can see feet walking through the garden! Carol then says, "See I got you a great room." I almost fell over and was speechless. My husband gives a look, like don't say anything. Our friend finds me upstairs not happy and I take him to the garden room and he's now upset. He goes to Carol and asks if she can move us and says Carol is not pleasant and tells him, "We're full this weekend and I've given you the best rooms in this guesthouse." Again remember we booked in APRIL!! After an evening out and dinner, our friends husband was parking in the garage because the back parking we paid for was full...other story. He came to me and said, "I hate to tell you but the room next to us is empty and the door is wide open! I looked inside and there's no one in that room." Oh boy I was done. We loved the Parker House and this was our fourth stay. We have raved about the Parker House over the years. Maybe it was the former owners who made it so special. This will be our last stay.

loved the location and the price was decent. has nice amenities. I found however, the personnel to be quite variable in their mood and disposition. it felt very transactional in some ways. appreciate the owner reaching out.

Severe parking issues and lack of transparency about it before booking. I was not told about the limited parking even though I had called for info and logistics before booking. Robert was not very helpful and told us to park at a location 10mins away.. there is no way I'm going to walk that distance late at night. He then accused me of having too many people (two adults and a child) for a king room, when I had actually booked a deluxe (their biggest room). I asked that they cancel my reservation as the parking situation did not suit my family and I - with zero empathy he canceled my reservation and charged me $300. Well done Robert.

We are at the end of a wonderful 7 night stay at Parker Guest House, the guest house itself is lovely, with beautiful furnishings, attention to detail is second to none, we stayed in a king room with a really comfortable bed, the mattress was fab, really helped with the jet lag . The continental breakfast was great, lots to choose from and every evening between 17:30 and 18:30 there is a wine reception with cheese and nibbles, really nice way to interact with other guests. The whole experience is made even better by Carol and Brian, what a lovely couple, so friendly, they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and gave us great advice on restaurants, bars and things to do during the day, well done guys you run an amazing establishment and we will be back

Tales of the City. We arrived very late(1am). Our 2 hour flight was delayed 4 hours! We were tired, but hopeful. The management left instructions with keys in the garage, for late arrival. We requested an upper floor, and were granted one. We dropped our bags on the floor and crashed! After a short night of sleep, we awoke in a fairly comfortable bed. The room was spacious enough, with multiple windows that allowed light and a nice cross breeze. The bathroom was equipped with a proper bathtub! We made our way downstairs to retrieve some much needed coffee. We stayed in the "newer" building, the building that was purchased later, and added to the complex. (There is a nice courtyard between the two buildings). This building has a tiny kitchen with a few tables and COFFEE! We grabbed a few cups, gained our composure, and made our way to the main building's kitchen. This is where the self-serve breakfast is located. The room had enormous windows, and it reminded me of a sun-porch that was converted. Loved this space! We filled up on fresh fruit, a English muffin, with peanut butter, and a small bowl of Special K with the red berries! Being vegan, this was a more than adequate breakfast. We were stoked! They have dairy alternatives in the fridge, so just ask. The kitchen is the heart of the Parker House. This is where we met fellow travelers from distant locales. Many engaging conversations were had. On the second night, there was a strong windstorm. I've been to San Francisco too many times to count, and I've never experienced a storm that strong. It literally shook the house. My husband slept like a baby, while I was awakened throughout the night. Drama! We were in close proximity to our favorite restaurants in the Mission (hello, Cha-Ya), and walking distance to the Castro theater; where we attended a screening of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, with Kim Novak presenting! We met her that evening, and she ended up sitting at the table next to us at the bar, Twin Peaks (another favorite) afterwards. With the Parker House, I've found my new favorite place to crash while visiting the city. We loved our stay here. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They let us store our bags in the lobby on our last day. Highly recommend.

Overpriced rooms. Very noisy rooms. (Street car in the middle of the night kept me awake) The worst was rude staff. Don't stay at this place

A few months ago when we began to make plans for our trip to San Francisco, we researched where we might stay. We were leaning towards renting an apartment but it's hard to know what you are getting by just looking at those " wide angle photos"! We were still considering our options when our daughter urged to to reserve a room at the Parker Guest House. She knew people who had stayed there and was confident that we'd be very happy. Maybe I'm a little neurotic and skeptical but I asked if she would mind visiting the Parker House and " smelling " the place ! You might be laughing at me or scratching your head, but I'm sure you have experienced entering a room that has a damp or musty odor and since we were planning on staying for almost a week, I wanted assurances that we'd be happy! While my daughter thought I was nuts, she did as i requested and gave me her blessings. The Parker Guest House is indeed fabulous and we had a fantastic time utilizing their wonderful amenities that included a spacious living room with a cozy fireplace and all the bourbon we wanted to drink! We loved the breakfasts which included a selection of cereals and delicious homemade oatmeal. There was also a daily selection of muffins, cakes, bagels and bread. I loved toasting bread and adding Nutella, peanut butter and jam! There was always lots of fresh coffee, orange juice and yogurt. And every day, there was a copy of The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle for anyone who had the desire to read the latest news. The Parker House has a great staff and they did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It's conveniently located to lots of trams and trolleys as well as great restaurants and fantastic ice cream parlors. Also as an added bonus, every afternoon at 5:30, the staff puts out a few bottles of red and white wines and munchies in their dining area. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel! I'd reserve well in advance to be guaranteed that you get the room of your choice. We opted for a smaller room with a king sized bed that faced their backyard . We look forward to returning to the Parker House! Why would we want to stay anyplace else?

THE best best place to stay in San Francisco! Perfect lovely accommodations. Wonderful light breakfast . Gorgeous library with evening fire and complimentary cognac.. AND owner and staff are all so sweet. ! I left some important items in my room and they very generously sent them to by priority post. I'm very very grateful!

Disappointing! Chose this guest house as it seemed to be the only dog free accommodation in the whole of San Francisco! Easy to find nice area with the lovely buildings. The first thing that assailed us when we arrived in the reception area was the smell! Like a geriatric care home! Luckily we were in the other building which wasn't so bad, the room a deluxe king was tiny with only a frosted window onto at the side of another house. Towel rail fell apart so we left it for the staff to see and maybe fix, no chance they just left the towels on a chair! REALLY! The Breakfast we ended up giving a miss each day because most days there was no where to sit and not much left! Evening drinks we gave a miss as well as the wine was undrinkable! Some staff were really nice and friendly and some were positively rude and unhelpful! Shame looks nice in an interesting area but would not return!

Since we arrived, we've had a brilliant time, so welcoming, homely and comfortable. Such a wonderful place to stay to get the atmosphere of the town and a great location too. You really get the feel of SFO. Plenty of good food restaurants and plenty to see and do in the Mission area. Staying at Parker Guest House added so much to our trip extremely welcoming and nothing is too much, the facilities are excellent with so many little touches which makes it feel like home. Great breakfast and company with Carol and Brian looking after us. Thanks so much for looking after us Brits.

This was my first BnB so I was a bit cautious but I honestly loved this place. I was only here one night (business trip) but it was exactly what I wanted and I will definitely be back for a "staycation" in the future. Super clean. Nice decor. And other niceties (I won't ruin the surprise). San Francisco has a well-known homeless issue but the Parker Guest House takes very reasonable measures to ensure the security and comfort of their guests. The entrance is gated and only checked-in guests get a key. When you first arrive you push the button and they confirm your reservation before opening the door. So I never felt unsafe or limited in my access. While I was there I noticed an, ahem, non-guest attempt at access and they politely and pragmatically took care of it. I did choose the parking option. After confirming the option they said to simply pull into the partial driveway upon arrival and they'd help me out. So I parked in their driveway, buzzed the door, checked in, and they gave me a garage door opener to use. The parking area is around the corner but secure. You use the door opener to get into the private lot behind the location. So your car is secured and there's a private door to get back into the common area (key required). This was welcome to me as I was concerned about public parking. Break-ins are very common in SF. All in all, it was my first BnB experience but it was just amazing. If you're looking for a high-class, clean, and safe BnB experience (that includes parking) in the Castro area, this is your best bet.

Just leaving our stay at Parker Guesthouse. While this may represent ideal accommodations for some, as an active married couple in their 40s, we found it to be a bit stuffy and anti-social. The facility is pretty, well-maintained, and comfortable. However, some of the staff seem putout by guests and would prefer you not speak or ask questions. To test this theory, give them a call a couple times. One time, you'll get some super kind helpful individual, and the next you'll get someone who seems annoyed that you called. We tried the continental breakfast and the evening mixer from 5:30 to 6:30. At each, the mixed crowd of gay and straight, older and younger, married and single read much like a middle school dance. Everyone just sits, bashfully refusing to make eye contact and committing to their phone or newspaper. Staff does nothing to attempt to bring people together. So, while we love SF and have now stayed at Parker Guesthouse twice, it's time to try out a new spot. For others who choose this location for their vacation destination, we hope your stay is as amazing as the city itself. Enjoy!

I write this rave review on behalf of my mother, Fran P. "I greatly enjoyed my stay at Parker House, and plan to stay there again! It's conveniently located near my daughter's home and is near our favorite walking neighborhoods (the Mission, Duboce Triangle, etc.), which helps us avoid the congestion of the tourist-centric Union Square. The staff was very amiable and accommodating. With any ask -- from requesting a room with a desk, to using their dishes for Chinese takeout -- the team warmly and punctually followed through. The backyard is lovely, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The experience is more like staying a dear friend's home than staying at a corporate hotel. If making new friends over coffee on the patio sounds like your speed, then the Parker House is for you! Thank you, Parker House!" - Fran P.

This is my Home in San Francisco. My partner and I were in town for a dental convention recently and chose to stay at The Parker Guesthouse instead of one of the ADA discounted hotels near the Moscone Center. I think we made a very wise decision. The Parker is located on Church Street, just a few blocks from the heart of Gay San Francisco. It's an easy walk to the intersection of 18th and Castro, where you will find a multitude of restaurants, shops, and bars to keep you entertained. It's also an easy walk to Market street where you'll find more shops, restaurants and bars. You'll find public transportation nearby too. The location couldn't be better. The guesthouse itself is beautiful. It consists of two buildings with a courtyard between them. You'll find a gorgeous garden (with lemon trees) and several cozy spots to sit with a friend and relax. Our room (#19) was in the basement but let in a surprising amount of light. I understand that it was once the owners suite. That must explain the fabulous shower! We enjoyed their continental breakfast every morning. They had a variety of cereals, yogurts, toasts, bagels, jams, pastries, lots of fresh fruit, milk, coffee and orange juice. We also enjoyed the wine social in the afternoons where we got to meet and mingle with other guests. Most of all, we enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts there. Bob was there the day we arrived. He gave us a warm welcome, showed us around and helped us settle in. Scott was there over the weekend. He took good care of us and steered us towards a couple of great restaurants. We sincerely enjoyed our stay at The Parker Guesthouse and I can't imagine staying anywhere else on our next trip to this wonderful city.

Absolutely lovely! Our work colleague has stayed here many times and booked us on a work trip. I just love the decor, the rooms, the cleanliness and everything about it. So much more relaxing than a hotel. Everything is beautiful and I'm so excited to come back and stay for a personal trip! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Stayed here again and remember why I so enjoy this place - kind people, lovely garden, perfect location, tasteful rooms, yummy breakfast and parking!

We live in the neighborhood and always send our out of town guests here. We love the fantastic and friendly service we receive every time! Our guests have great things to say about the rooms and breakfast. We will continue to book with them in the future!

Just returned home from a lovely two night stay at Parker Guest House. This charming Guest House was the perfect choice for us while we visited our son who lives within walking distance. The room was beautiful, the bed heavenly, and the private bath with shower excellent! The grounds were pretty with many different outdoor seating areas, flowers, and fountain. The staff - attentive and kind. We enjoyed meeting and conversing with other guests during breakfast or the complimentary wine happy hour. Coffee, fruit, snacks, and healthy breakfast items made the stay that much more enjoyable. This will be our first choice during future visits!

I generally always stay at the Fairmont or Scarlet Huntington when in SF. This time, with all the holidays, we decided to try the Parker Guest House, and I was not really impressed. First, when I arrived, a really nice guy named Colton (?) welcomed me, helped with the bags and showed me around. This was really the best part of my stay at Parker Guest House, so to say. The room was not bad, but just ok. It was clean, reasonably sized, but certainly not a "suite" in the true sense. I was in Room 24 on Floor 1 and it was a hassle getting all my things up to their front door and then to floor 1. But Colton was very helpful. The bathroom was clean, comfortable sized and there was a tiny balcony inside the bathroom which was more like a window and pretty useless. I guess if I had gotten another suite which had a garden area, it would have possibly mattered, but my "suite" with the "balcony" was really not impressive. The internet was not too fast, but I did not really have any expectations here. TV had really bad signal, I tried switching it on, but video signal was so choppy that it would stop every few minutes. So I did not turn it on again. The room had a lot of noise (Room 24) as it faced the Church street. The tram that runs on Church street was rattling my stay, so to say! On second day, there was a guy named Scott at the front desk, who did not seem to like me for some reason lol! I requested an extra pair of bath towels, and he did not show up even after a few hours. I reminded him and got the towels this time. I ordered food for delivery as it was raining and when it did not show up, I called the delivery service. I was told the food was delivered. When I came downstairs, I noticed that Scott had opened the food and was helping himself. And he then said, he had ordered the food too and they had delivered it wrong. I don't know, if there was really confusion here, or not. I guess I will give him the benefit of doubt. Overall, he did not seem very nice. And the breakfast, absolutely lack luster. Some fruit in the fridge and yogurt, bagels and coffee and orange juice. Not worth waking up early. I skipped it. This was easily the worst fare I've seen in a BB. Lastly, on the day of the checkout, it was raining and I was struggling to get my bag down the stairs, two sets of them to climb down. There were two guys at the front desk and they sat disinterested and not once offered to help. Of course, I made three trips up and down, and then the Cab driver, a sweet lady, helped, but I wonder how elderly people can manage? Overall, my stay at Parker Guest House was completely disappointing. I would suggest alternatives like Chateau Tivoli or The Inn in San Francisco, where the place is nicer, breakfast is light years ahead and people are nicer too! I give here 2 stars, and the one additional star is simply for Colton who was super nice.

I lived in San Francisco for the last 12 years but moved (at the end of July 2020) and needed a place to stay while waiting for all the moving matters to be taken care of. I stayed at Parker Guest House and it was an oasis. It's quaint, clean, and has a fantastic yard/garden that served as a sanctuary for me during a time of tremendous transition. The innkeepers, Michelle and her husband, were attentive to details and were very kind and accommodating. Honestly, I hated to leave! When I return to California and my beloved San Francisco, this is where I will stay. The location is great for walking and public transportation and is a hidden gem in the city by the bay. Thank you!!

I've stayed at the Parker a couple of times and have always enjoyed it. This week I had to cancel my reservation on a very short notice due to a work schedule change. They were very accommodating as I was past the cut off time for cancellation. Thanks guys and I look forward to my next stay!

When we first arrived I suppose we were a bit rowdy. It was my b-day trip and my two friends and I were ready to live it up. i'm sure we were obnoxious. The guys took our bags and took them to our room. They were gracious, but they seemed a bit taken back by our boisterous attitudes. At first, we thought they may be a bit too snooty and we would have to tiptoe. We were wrong and they were wrong that we were obnoxious. :) Shortly thereafter, we fell in love with the B&B and the amazing service we recieved.We quickly learned that they were very sweet and there for our every desire and they learned that we wern't loud and disturbing people (at least to our neighbors in the B&B). They gave us fresh water and chocolate every night and even gave my friend's son directions and a prime parking spot on a Sunday afternoon when he met up with us. The place is beautiful and the service divine. Beautiful breakfast each morning and personalized service. The price was AMAZING and we had the weekend of our lives. It felt very safe in the city and was absolutely gorgeous and public transportation was so easy. The beds were so comfortable and I can honestly say that I haven't slept so well for MONTHS. I can see why some people thought the trolley was too loud, but it didn't bother us at all. The beds are way too snuggly to be bothered by outside annoyances. P.S. We just got back from san Francisco. We stayed here. What a great place! Super clean, staff was amazing, close to everything. I am coming back and making sure I reccomend this place. Scott was the best! Thank you for a fabulous time! Everything was so perfect!

Stayed here while on business and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff is extremely friendly, warm, and are happy to help you any way they can. It feels like a family environment from the moment you step in the door. The GM is always approachable and friendly no matter the time you talk with him. The beds are very comfortable, rooms spacious & inviting, bathrooms are prefect, and the way the house is set up makes you feel happy just standing in it. A bit sappy I know but I assure you it is true! Parking is a great add on if you have a vehicle but extremely limited so plan ahead. Located walking distance to good food and entertainment. I cannot wait to come back and stay here with my family in the future. This is the only place I want to stay in San Francisco.

We very recently spent four nights at the Parker Guest House, as we were visiting friends who live nearby. The location was perfect- right on the J Muni line, and in close walking distance to the Castro, Mission, and Noe Valley. The grounds are nicely maintained, and there are many sitting areas. We reserved a Traditioal Queen, which was in the house located just next to the main house, on the upper floor. Our room was clean, and simple. The queen mattress could have used an upgrade, but it was comfortable enough. For some reason we did not receive housekeeping services on our last day, and returned to an unmade bed and no clean towels?? Also, on our last evening in the middle of the night we were awakened TWICE by the fire alarms/lights blaring, as apparently another guest (we believe) was smoking, which set the alarms off. It was quite unnerving, to say the least! The security guard was very apologetic, as she was trying to figure what what was happening. It made for a sleepless night before our early flight the next am. The staff were all really nice, and we also met some really nice guests and had an enjoyable time talking to other couples. The continental breakfast was adequate, and we enjoyed the evening wine social. Baring the skipped housekeeping and deafening fire alarms, we would perhaps consider staying here again on one of our return trips to SF.

My partner and I stayed in this place about a year ago. It was fantastic. Here are the positives: 1) Location: It is in a great part of town, straddling the Mission and the Castro. Aside from the sounds of public transportation, it is in a quiet spot and is just a few minutes (on foot) from amazing restaurants, nightlife, public transportation, and even some tourist spots. It is just a very small walk from Delores Park and Mission Delores. Also, the community is safe, not that San Francisco has any areas that are truly "unsafe." Additionally, the building is quite secure, since the grounds can only be accessed by key. 2) Lodging: The actual house is beautiful. The rooms aren't all that spacious considering they are just converted bedrooms, but the common areas, like the parlor, garden, and the kitchen area, are open to guests and more than make up for it. The bed linen and amenities in the room are top notch as well, and it is well kept and clean. 3) Service: Everyone that we encountered at the Parker Guest House was kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The breakfast was great, and the evening wine social was a great way to interact with and meet the other guests. 4) Price: Though it may seem a little pricey (depending on what you're used to), it is a bargain when you look at comparable lodging in the city. You will not get more for your dollar anywhere else in the vicinity. Personally, I don't foresee staying anywhere else when I return to the city in the future. Negatives: The only negative I can think of is that my bathroom was a bit tiny. But, nevertheless, it was more than adequate and all of the B&B's other positives overshadowed this tiny complaint of mine. I enthusiastically recommend the Parker Guest House, and encourage everyone to give it a shot. You will not regret it.

We have been coming to Parker House for years. We have noticed the breakfast time has been getting late and later. We show up 15 min after the posted start time. In the past there was coffee made, breakfast items put out. But now usually 1 hour after the posted time some kid is still fumbling around in the kitchen trying to get things set up. I would suggest to the Parker House to change the breakfast time to 8 instead of 7 so that it will give the kids setting up the breakfast and extr a hour to recover from whatever they were doing the night before so that they may not appear so panicked. Also to help other guests from turning on the coffee machines and helping serve other guests who have not been here before. Your frequent guests in room 37

Usually when I visit San Francisco, I stay with friends who live there; free lodging means I get to spend more on eating out and... stuff. This most recent trip, I accompanied my roommate who went for a conference; he knows how much I love the city, so he let me tag along. Since he had a good experience there previously, he booked us for the Parker Guest House (PGH). I found the place absolutely charming. The location was also perfect for me; I typically spend a lot of my time in the Castro and Mission districts, so having a short walk to either was great. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, with windows that overlooked the courtyard. To see Church Street, I'd have to crane my neck slightly out of the window, so in a small way, I felt removed from the bustle of the city. Of course, I could still hear the Muni trolleys as they ran by - the sound is pretty distinct if you're not used to it - but I wasn't bothered by it. The only thing about the room that even remotely bothered me was the placement of the television - on a dresser inside the closet. It seemed an odd setup to me. Whatever. PGH offers a daily breakfast with coffee, pastries, fruit and cereals up for grabs. It's a pretty basic setup, so if you want something more substantial, you'll have to venture off property; there are plenty of options nearby. I had no issue with the items offered; then again, I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to breakfast -- as long as there's coffee. There's also a nightly wine social with light snacks. Again, it's nothing terribly fancy, but it's a fun way to meet other guests. The staff was pleasant to deal with and the amenities were more than sufficient for my needs. Being that I usually stay with friends in SF, I likely wouldn't stay at PGH myself, but I'd have no problem recommending it to others.
