met up with my girlies on a saturday night for happy hour at 4:45 pm on the rooftop patio. it was a perfect 24 degrees, and the patio was super comfy. located at 1379 howe, right at the corner of howe and pacific street, the parker rooftop is on the 9th floor, formerly the executive hotel, vintage park.
the place is part of the table group family, boasting three separate patios, floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the city and ocean. it's got that upscale elegance but still feels laid-back enough for a fun night out.
the ambiance was spot-on for happy hour. major shout out to beau, our server, who was totally on his a-game and took amazing care of us.
we decided to order everything on the happy hour menu. the oysters were super fresh, though they varied in size, with some smaller than others. they came with horseradish, mignonette, and a wedge of lemon. the fish and chip cones were tasty but a bit tricky to eat, filled with rice, crispy tempura, pickled ginger, cucumber, and tartar, it fell apart when we picked it up. the mushroom arancini, balls of arborio rice stuffed with mushrooms, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried to perfection--definitely the highlight with their perfect flavour, texture, and creaminess. the truffle fries were generously portioned, golden and crisp with garlic aioli, though the truffle flavour was very faint. the parker sliders featured wagyu beef with garlic aioli, pickle, and lettuce and were just okay, nothing special.
we had an unforgettable evening filled with lively conversation, laughter, and pure fun. we were giddy with excitement, to learn of my girlfriend's engagement, and beau surprised us with celebratory glasses of champagne. to top it off, he even comped us three bite-sized chocolate cake, which we devoured before the forks could even make it to the table.
the vibe was fantastic, the company unbeatable, and the service top-notch.
happy hour runs from 3 to 6, and all day sunday, because why limit happy to just an hour?
