Parkette Family Restaurant

Atmosphere- 3 stars- this is a locally owned family restaurant that has been operating for years in Clarksburg WV. It’s a very clean restaurant but it’s trapped in time in the 70s - 80s era. Needs an update big time!! It felt dirty even though it wasn’t dirty. It’s just the outdated environment. Service- 3 stars- the server was ok but not overly friendly. She did her job. Took awhile to get our food. Food- 4 stars- I was a little skeptical coming here but it was busy and I had heard good things about the food. I got to say it was pretty good. I got the Ribeye Special Sandwich which claimed according to the menu to have been named best sandwich in WV in 2020. I got to say I can see why- the steak was so tender and juicy not fat or grizzle at all. It had cheese, peppers and came on grilled Italian bread- delicious!! Also had the crinkle fries and they were very good. We also got a cup of Chili with a grilled cheese sandwich. Chilli wasn’t bad but tasted kinda like Wendy’s chili. I have had better grilled cheese sandwiches but it was ok. All in all a good place to eat just please renovate your restaurant soon.

We were heading to Indiana from NJ, started looking for a place to dine in after our 5 hours drive. Found this place had a decent reviews and let's try.. we ordered hotdogs, with homemade chili over, was a great find 👌, Ribeye Sandwich 🥪 and homemade onion rings. Affordable prices and very friendly staff.

It was a wonderful experience. We had our church's holiday dinner there and couldn't be more pleased with the service and the food.

We were looking for a local dinner restaurant and this place delivered! Full of local people and a great atmosphere, our server was helpful and friendly. We shared chicken tenders and chicken parm and it was hot, fresh, and plentiful. It's not too far off the interstate so make the drive!

This is my first time here as I passing through and it won’t be my last! This place is phenomenal it has plenty of seating and is family owned. I ordered the fried oysters and they were delicious. As for an appetizer the fried pickle spears are not your traditional batter. These ones were a little bit different with no herbs, but they were delicious. My family member ordered the chicken wings and they Parmesan dipping sauce had a little kick to it. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. We recently used the Parkette to cater our wedding. Although we love eating at the restaurant, the Parkette truly went above and beyond for our special day. We can’t say enough good things about them! All communication was through Logan and he was very prompt and professional. He took the time to answer questions and make suggestions regarding our menu with diet restrictions and allergies. In addition, the catering menu offered so many options that we could reassure all guests were able to enjoy dinner. After many discussions, we decided on salad, rolls, grilled chicken with vegetables, green beans, and roasted potatoes. On our wedding day, they were very prompt in arrival and setting up. Logan personally came and found us to congratulate us and make sure we were happy. The food was absolutely amazing! Many of our guests continually raved about the food, especially the grilled chicken with vegetables. In terms of pricing, the Parkette offered great value for the quality and service provided. They worked within our budget while still delivering an exceptional culinary experience. We wholeheartedly recommend the Parkette for any catering event. They truly made our day special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better catering experience. Thank you, Parkette, for being a part of our celebration!

Nice clean restaurant with quick service. Ordered the chicken hoagie with no peppers. The chicken was tender and the bread excellent. Give 4.5 stars...more seasoning would have made this 5 stars for me.

One of the best restaurants I've been to. The food and the service is exceptional. Their sandwiches are awesome and worth every penny!! I could only eat a quarter of it, it was so stuffed with meat and peppers.

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the Bridgeport area (actually anywhere). Every-time I go back to WV I eat there. The hoagies are the best in the area and the home cooking specials never disappoint. I highly recommend the Parkette to anyone that loves home cooking without needing to clean up afterwards.

I visited for a late lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was clean and they seemed to have lots of staff. I ordered an antipasto salad a 2 of their special hot dogs. Unfortunately, the hot dogs arrived first. The hot dogs were really good with mustard, chili and onions. The chili is tasty and it's the perfect consistency for a hot dog. I really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, my waitress didn't show up for over 20 minutes. I was out of soda and I really wanted my salad. I finally asked if my salad was coming, and she said, "You didn't get it?"...Uh, no, that's why I'm asking you about it. My antipasto salad finally arrived and it was delicious. I would definitely order it again. The food here is good and it is reasonably priced. The service was not good on this particular Saturday afternoon.

Food is always hot and tasty and service is fast and staff is always friendly. It's a little out of our way and sort of off the beaten path but well worth the time to go.

This was a great find. I loved the homemade hotdog sauce. I could have been happy with a bowl of it lol. Will be back!

Has always been good food, good portions. Sometimes a wait depending on time of day you go. The price is decent and good always tastes good.

Everyone in our section of the restaurant came after us; received their meals and left before we got served. Meal was mediocre at best. Manager blamed slow service on carry out orders. Won't be back.

The prime rib sandwich is insaaanely good. Go there. Order one. Eat it. Be happy. Clean place, friendly and attentive staff. Nice menu selection as well.

Stopped here on the way back to DC. Decent comfort food at a ok price. The food was lacking some more seasoning but definitely filled me up. Got the onion rings and they were pretty good too

First time customer as I was passing through and I'm glad I did. The service was excellent and the food was of good quality, hot, tasty, fresh and in large quantities. The hot beef and hot chicken were amazing and then downed one of their peanut butter pies. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back again.

I loved the atmosphere. The food was like I was at home. I had a grilled cheese and broccoli cheese soup amazing. It was a very friendly place full of smiles from serving staff

Been coming here for years and the foods always been delicious. The steak and chicken hoagies are also two of my favorites: I recommend getting the peppers in sauce on them.

It is i guess home cooked food. It is a family restaurant with specials daily. Waiter and waitress really make this place.

Met my cousins here and what a great family friendly place. We were seated fairly quickly and the waitress was friendly and helpful. I ordered grilled cheese and cheesecake and both were delicious !! I highly recommend you stop in to this great restaurant!

As we entered the clean, brightly lit restaurant we were asked our preference of table or booth. After being seated at our table the waitress pointed out the specials of the day and took our drink orders. I chose the fish sandwich special with crinkle cut fries and when it arrived a few minutes later I found it to be very tasty. Especially the fries that were the perfect crisp with creamy insides. Some of the best I've had lately. Wish I could have tried their homemade pies. But will have to wait till I return. Too full from the ample portions.

We have been to this location several times in the past and the service has been ok for the most part..a lil slow but nothing like today(3-5-22)... The server we had was very rude and was rude to my father in law who is hard of hearihg...she put our order in wrong and when we got our food the sandwich was cold...was afraid to say anything cause it too 15-20 to get our order...our server walked by and my father in law asked for a to go box and she totally ignored him..our servers name was megan....I highly doubt we will be back unless the service changes

We stop by Parkette just about every time we are in town visiting my mom. Their steak hoagies are the best around. The hot peppers are delicious. Their onion rings are also a must try if you haven't had them. We always phone in our order and get it to go. Have never actually dined in so I can't comment about the waitstaff. They always give you a total amount due if you call in an order to go. I find this very helpful. Our food has always been ready when promised. Hot and delicious. Give them a try if you are hungry for a steak hoagie and onion rings.

Service was good and the people friendly. But oh, the coffee tasted like warm weak instant coffee. Food was poor, I had the ribeye sandwich, ugh. Went with a friend and neither of us will return. Sorry just not good

Minimal wait time to be seated. Was fairly busy & there were plenty of waitstaff so they must have been short on cooks. Took way too long to be served a hamburger & a ribeye sandwich (house speciality). Food was okay. Server did not ask if we needed anything else or offered dessert. We like to eat local but would not return.

With the hustle & bustle of the holidays, we decided that we would order our Thanksgiving dinner from the Parkette Family Restaurant. It was delicious & very reasonably priced! Our meal consisted of: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, & rolls. We highly recommend it for anyone wanting to share a tasty meal & not spend the entire day prepping for it! Logan was exceptional. He took our order, closer to the pick up day, he called to verify everything, then he checked the order when we picked it up. Logan provided the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My friends and I go to this restaurant at least twice a week. I can only have chicken or fish. Just loved the sandwich. One of the best fish sandwich I've had. So couple of weeks the sandwich wasn't up to par. So I asked the waitress Kristy if they had changed the fish for the sandwich. She said no so I tried to explain to her that the fish was kinda tough. I had a hard time cutting sandwich in two. It was tough . She looked at me with the this smirk and said . We haven't changed the fish. Instead of going back and asking someone in back of house. She has no personality for being a waitress. I think management should talk to this employee. I have to come on Fridays because our friends like this restaurant. But I'm not ordering anything. And will call another Restaurant what I mad to do tonight. Very Upset

Old school Clarksburg/Bridgeport. I have always liked this place and when I moved back to the area, we make it a stop as we drive by (live about 30 minutes away). It is not a destination for us - but if we are here we pick it. The steak sandwich is my go to and my wife gets the turkey. Very nice people work here and the price is right.

Hostess was kind of rude, maybe I took her comments the wrong way. Waitress needed help, was very overwhelmed. No offers to get us refills. Food was sort of cold when we got it but ate most of it anyway. Maybe we got there during a bad night but wasn't a great experience

Always good food and service. The wait staff is always friendly and prompt. Menu has good variety and prices are very reasonable.

Steak hoagie has been my go to for decades. I like to split one with my husband so I can get the small salad with house dressing. Something I use to do with my mom.

This place has got something for everyone. A crazy good house dressing, daily specials, delicious hoagies, stuffed peppers that are so good and I love their egg salad sandwich. The atmosphere is cheery and the wait staff is on top of things. We frequent here for lunch and always leave satisfied. Stop in.

Great diner with reasonable prices. Food was very tasty and portion sizes were very generous. Service was also good. We stopped on our way to Pittsburgh - easy off and easy back on the road.

The last time I ate there was many years ago I moved some years back but I can say that the food there is on point I don't think I ever had anything that wasn't delicious. One thing about Wv is the food is almost always fresh and made in house. If you find yourself going down 79 stop in and try it out. Dude what do you have to loose

Nice home styled diner, hoagies with hot peppers that are actually hot along with lots of home made "comfort food" My son really enjoyed his pizza and my wife thought her meatloaf was pretty good also. My daughter got the spaghetti but unfortunately didn't even try it as she does with many meals so I'll hold the review for that until I can actually get a chance to try it.

Order your salad on a plate and it seems larger and more manageable. Good, reliable place for a hot dog and fries, hoagie, or Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. Mostly booth seating. Delicious, thick shakes- although they served in the creepy metal mixer tumblers---ick. Ask for an extra glass.

I'd heard of this restaurant and was looking for something other than fast food for lunch while in the Clarksburg area, so I decided to give it a go. Their menu is pretty small but has the basics covered. Food was good, although service was a bit slow. I'd go back in the future, as long as I wasn't in a rush.

An airy, cheerful atmosphere with friendly help. Acceptable diner food -- nothing great, but no regrets, a place to meet the family on a weekend afternoon. Must have developed a loyal following over the years to survive in a location now so perfectly hidden from the highway, and at least two dozen chains competing within a half mile!

Any time I'm back in the Clarksburg area a trip (or two) to the Parkette is a must! I've had hoagies in other restaurants, but these are my favorite. I always get a few extra and freeze them to bring home to Illinois. I'm not sure what it is about the salad, but it's my favorite. It's nothing but iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, but the dressing is simple and delicious. I bought a pint of it last time I was there. The onion rings are to die for. Obviously hand-dipped. Not pre-made frozen junk like most places serve. I love this place. Everyone seems to know everyone else. The wait staff has always been friendly. I just wish I wasn't 8 hours away. A hoagie sounds great!

Was in town for work and had heard good things about this restaurant. Wow! They were not wrong! Great customer service, from the time we were met at the door by Logan, until our very attentive waitress handled our orders. Service was fast, and the food was great. I'll definitely return when I'm back in town for work or travel. Our group ordered a variety of it em, from rueben, to the ribeye sandwich. Everything was hot and fresh.

Place was a little busy, which is good for them in one aspect, but our server took a while to come wait on us and she seemed to be a little uninterested in waiting on us. Slight mess up on side salad, but otherwise food was pretty good (nothing spectacular but good). Another server was very pleasant, he might need to be the example for other servers working there.

The family owners are amazing people, the food is excellent and it seems the only employee employees with prior experience bc I have never had a less then terrific experience

Waited at the door for several minutes and was never acknowledged. Made eye contact with 5 employees and the manager and still no one spoke to us to let us know they would be right with us or anything. A couple came in after us and was immediately seated by the manager , who also never acknowledged our existence. Don't waste your time patronizing this establishment.

Just had the Seafood Platter this afternoon as one of their many Valentines Day Specials. It was very good! Shrimp, fish, and crab cakes along with French fries and a salad. Very reasonably price and a generous quantity. Very polite waitress too.

We were disappointed. Indifferent server brought us someone else's meal. I got the house dressing on my dinner salad - it tasted like very salty water on top of rubbery translucent iceberg lettuce with some bland white cheese shreds and four tiny bits of tomato. Onion rings were flavorless. My hubby's Ruben was also bland. Even the ketchup bottle was empty.

We eat here anytime we are in town, and sometimes we go to town just to eat here. Anything in the menu is terrific, but my go-to is always the steak hoagie with a side of onion rings. Don't forget about the salad with house dressing to start. The service is usually good, and the staff friendly.

Main deal is the great daily Steak hoagies. Also homemade roasted turkey with all the trimmings made daily, Comfort food with norishing sides. Can't blame this store if you leave hungry, something for all tastes...

Someone asked me what kind of food they have at the Parkette, and I said "Clarksburg food." This is your typical Hoagie/Giovanni/Antipasto Salad fare. They also have great home style foods like fried chicken and various daily specials. I love their vegetable beef soup, chicken wings and salads with the house dressing. This is a dependable place for a good, hot meal. The only downfall is they are notoriously slow. The menu even tells you to be prepared to wait because home made food takes time to prepare.

Family run restaurant that has been around for years. If you crave comfort food this is the place to go; homemade mashed potatoes and turkey and gravy..I guess my favorite is creamed turkey on biscuits, yummy. The milkshakes are also homemade, hence the metal cup they were made in. This is a throwback to the "old days", very big and very good. Most of the servers have been there for a long time and know what they are doing. Usually friendly and fast.

For a nice little comfort food establishment it's above average. Prices aren't bad either.

Not the worst joint in the area, but definitely not the best, either. The food is so-so, particularly the spaghetti, which is plagued by small portions and a marinara sauce that is not at all special or appetizing. The french fries are of acceptable size and texture, but there's something very off-putting about the taste. Salt helps, but not enough. I will say, however, that the milkshakes are very, very good. The waitstaff focuses on regular customers more than those of us who eat there infrequently. More than once I've had to go request a drink refill because the waitress was absent for long periods, and it had nothing to do with the amount of other customers. The prices aren't too excessive, but I do feel it would be appropriate to get more for what they're asking. It wouldn't hurt to shorten the time between placing an order and actually receiving your meal, either. I'll likely eat there again in the future, but only because I have family in the area that, for reasons unclear, just love the place.

Best onion rings anywhere. A visit home would not be complete without a trip here for some onion rings. Great hot dogs too!

Home-made dinners with delicious hoagies that have the same GREAT taste and loaded made to order! Still as fantastic as I remember in the 1970's!!!! We love the original homemade onion rings! I know that the next generation is on the team...please dont change the menu!?!?!? We love you just the way you are!
