Belle Vue

"To make the most of the simply stunning mountain views, opt for a table near the large glass-planed front – or on the delightful terrace! Complementing the wonderful scenery, the interior of the Bellevue Parkhotel & Spa restaurant boasts a sleek design that provides the backdrop for the fine dining menu: classic dishes such as roast duck breast with potato galettes are served in the evening, and a simpler à la carte selection is available at lunchtime. Choose an accompaniment from the exquisite wine list." - Michelin Inspector

We stayed with our 3 children who were made to feel very welcome in this elegant property. They loved the spa and we loved not having to think about breakfast or dinner. The room was very comfortable and clean, the Mountain View was incredible and we enjoyed the balcony. The kids were provided with small robes and slippers which was lovely. The only improvement we would suggest is a small fridge in the room so we could keep supplies for lunch and milk for coffee.

I arrived at the lovely Bellevue Park after a long day of hiking on the Via Alpina. My luggage had been transferred ahead; and the staff had sent it to my room. So far so good. But my greeting was somewhat unfriendly and curt. And there seemed to be some fact-checking and discussion before they gave me my key (No idea why; I don't speak German). It would have been nice if they had told me there was a free snack buffet open for guests at that time, but they didn't. (I discovered this later). After finally receiving my key, they pointed to the restaurant and said the English version of the menu was posted. But when I walked over, the waitstaff didn't know anything about that; they handed me the German version they had. (I was in the mood for much simpler fare, so I ate elsewhere). The room was nice but faced the hillside, so no views to enjoy. I slept well. In the morning I arrived to the breakfast buffet just as it opened. Because I had not eaten at their restaurant the previous night, the staff pointed me to a secluded area behind the main dining room. (I felt like I was at the kids' table). No self-serve coffee here - the waitress had to bring it. It was very late (after I finished my first plate). The cooked-to-order eggs, however, were excellent. Still, I expected a lot more for this hotel based on the price I paid.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff.|We had a Mountain View room on the fourth floor that was spacious and clean. We had a balcony with chairs to watch the sun go down.|Everyone has time to talk to you, from the staff at the front desk to the room attendants and restaurant staff.|We had the half board option and have to say that the food was superb. It was beautifully presented and fresh.|There was a good choice and the menu changed daily.|The only gripe I have is that we were charged 7chf for tap water. This is common practice in Switzerland now. When you buy an expensive bottle of wine each night, it grates to have to pay for something that is essentially a human right.|The spa area was extensive with sauna and steam rooms along with indoor and outdoor pools. In our package, we were entitled to a massage. Helga was amazing and tailored our treatment to accommodate our aches and pains! She really helped my back problem and took time to explain exercises that would help.|Another plus was free access to all the gondolas and cable cars in the area, along with buses. This was a huge saving.|It was the first time we had been to Adelboden and it won’t be our last! Thank you to all the staff for their warm welcome!

The hotel was nice with very friendly and helpful staff. It felt like home away from home. The curtesy bus of the hotel is free and always willing to help. (To ski slopes and bus stop.) The spa and especially the heated outdoor pool was exceptional and well equipped. Dinner was excellent every night. Half board is the way to go. We booked directly with the hotel.

It was great that you can book the spa only as an outside guest. The lunch package was nice. The spa had everything, indoor cooler pool and outside warmer pool with jacuzzi, 2 steam rooms, 3 saunas. A beautiful quiet room with a stunning view on the alps and unlimited free herbal tea. I will return! The only minus was that the external sauna would only open after 4pm (not sure why) and one of the saunas was not hot enough. Still it was great!

Positives: beautiful location and building with lovely common spaces, cute branding, and upscale rooms. Very clean with unique decor and top notch breakfast. Location to gondola could not be better, it is steps away. Staff were very friendly and staffing was ample. ||However, it was much more family friendly than we would have hoped as we were anticipating a peaceful spa retreat. Would not recommend for a romantic couples trip. My 3/5 is based on the below and I realize this is hyper critical but for nearly $700 USD a night and a Relais chateaux property we expected better. If you are looking for a romantic trip spend the extra $ to stay at one of the adult only hotel/spas offered by Relais Chateaux in Switzerland.||There is a huge difference between a spa that includes an indoor pool and a kid friendly indoor pool that is connected to a spa. This is unfortunately the latter, but I feel like it is advertised as a relaxing peaceful retreat. It is likely to not be so peaceful based on your luck of who else is staying there during your stay. Children are allowed to use both the indoor and outdoor pool both of which are connected to spa areas and relaxation areas. This completely defeats the purpose of quiet, reflective relaxation areas. Every splash of the pool is completely audible from the indoor saunas and steam rooms even with the sauna doors closed. Kids will be kids and should be expected to make noise in a pool, and that is fair for them to want to use the indoor pool too, but not while others are trying to use silent spa areas. Therefore this could easily be solved by having kids / family hours for the pool and silent hours or different time slots of some sort. We reached out to the hotel during our stay about the noise issues and did not hear back. I understand that disrespectful parents are not the fault of the hotel but it could easily be fixed by them with different time slots to make all guests happy and make it fair for all. ||My husband and I based our entire trip to Switzerland on visiting this hotel and were very disappointed by the lack of enforcement of spa policies and several families of loud children who ruined our spa experience each day. While the hotel has a tiny notice in the spa bags for parents to make sure children are respectful in the pool and don’t make too much noise, that isn’t realistic and kids will be kids. For that reason they need to have their own time slots. ||We were also given the wrong room key at check in which was awkward and found it very bizarre that you have to sit at the same table every day for breakfast. It might even be for dinner too but we elected not to dine at the hotel when we saw how many kids were staying there. Did not want to have a $300 dinner with a side of kids yelling. ||In conclusion would recommend if you have kids and also like saunas but not for a romantic retreat.

We stayed for a week in the beginning of November. Beautiful room, even more wonderful terrace with an absolute amazing view. Loved the spa, especially the outdoor pool. The food was very good (especially the soups, loved them!!), but the organization of the restaurant needs a little work. Receptionists were very friendly, just like most of the staff. There was however one thing that was absolutely not acceptable and was to say the least quite frustrating. One of your waiters, I believe his name was Thierry, kept bugging us (and every table around us apparently too) about the upcoming American election and how he favored Trump. After gently letting him know we weren't interested in discussing that with him, he still started this conversation everytime he saw us. Even after we made clear that we really did not like the way he droned on about the elections and especially about Trump, the first thing he did after election day was coming up to us to tell us how glad he was Trump won.  Otherwise our holiday was quite wonderful, but his persistent  discourtesy really left a sour taste.

Coming to Bellevue for more than 20 years now. No other place like it. Low profile, good quality, excellent food and a fantastic wine list. For decent, normal people, not looking for glitz and glamour, hard to find better. Closest ski lift about 50-60 meters away!

Yelp
For some reason, I get the feeling that most places in Switzerland in my opinion don't really qualify for a five star or maybe even a four-star. This was my first time here and we stayed two weeks. The people working at the hotel were friendly enough. Our room was hotter than hell the entire time we were there and our fridge didn't work. The breakfast each morning really wasn't very impressive. They would provide you with eggs and bacon upon request but I would think that should be something that you don't have to ask for. The facilities otherwise are quite nice but it is fairly expensive and if there's anybody in your group who is not in peak physical fitness, you might want to consider something else since the hill you must climb to get to the hotel on a daily basis is challenging to say the least.

Yelp
this is my second time in this hotel. for the extended review please look at my first review. my second time was for a wine and dine. superb food with superb wines! impossible to wish for more! the staff is very nice, professional and down-to-earth what i really appreciate. if you want to enjoy the swiss alps in connection with some spa, have a nice and luxurious experience without having to deal with fancy-schmancy people this is the place to go to! professional service, with an excellent kitchen (14 gault-millau, but i think they deserve even more) and a nice view. if you can/want to afford it i suggest taking the junior-suite (picture in the pictures).
