Good spot to hang out at. Strong drinks and good food. I'm not a Hooka smoker but my boys say the mixes are great! I don't want to say that we are regulars but we might be regulars....lol! Only reason I didn't give them a cool 5 is because parking around there sucks...lol!

Google
DJ was CRAZY! Had fun dancing. Food specials were pretty good. Drinks were KNOCK YOU ON YOUR A$$ STRONG!! And we took home some nice IPAs. Bathroom needed cleaning but overall had a good time!

Google
The service is great. Nice laid back spot. Drinks are good. But the food. Official tissue. I had the Mac-n Cheese (banging) collared greens and Wings. #dope.

Shout out to RAVEN, our bartender last Thursday, 2/23/23! She was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT and provided a great experience for me and my fiancee on my birthday. Couldn't ask for more! GIVE THIS WOMAN A PROMOTION NOW!!!!!!! We will def be back! 👏👏👏

Google
Love this place! As soon as you walk in, it is all good vibes! If you like it turnd’ up, it’s awesome. The bar tenders and staff are so awesome. Alyssio, Dee, and Lee were especially awesome!

Google
Great reasonably priced friendly laid-back spot in center City where You can grab a drink while listening to some good music on the juke box (theres uselly a DJ on the weekends) they have food aswell which is pretty tasty too all in the heart of center City

Google
Music was nice. Wish they had more bartenders that could serve. The bar in the back was only for hookah. We were there for over 30 min with no drink. The folks were nice just super busy. They should expand to allow more seating for hookah or at least have an outdoor space.

Google
Great place but they have no happy hour anymore or food specials. They use to have the Obama for $9 at happy hour. I spent $39 on 2 drinks. Very pricey. I know things went up but damn.

Yelp
Like I said before always a vibe Music, Drinks, Hookah, Food and dope bartenders who take care of you.
google avatar

Yelp
Great music & atmosphere, not exactly a "hood bar" but hood bar adjacent. No 5-stars because they stop serving food too early. We showed up around 11 pm on a Saturday after a gala & wanted wings. The open kitchen was cleaned & vacant. Soooo disappointed! The place was busy, standing room only. Make more money- sell the foods!
google avatar

Wytina E.

Yelp
Awesome hood bar with great hip hop and R&B music and strong drinks. Wings are bomb, but the greens tasted dirty and gritty

Yelp
There were people having sex in the bathroom just a few feet from our table. Food took forever to come out. Order was wrong. Food was bad. Floor was sticky. Probably caught Covid here. Staff was not wearing masks. No thanks.

Yelp
You want a late night strong drink, at a place that provides Friday night vibes all week long...."Parkside." Right next to the MSB building and love park, this is a hole-in-the-wall spot that pulls through with all of the essentials.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good, but service left a lot to be desired. When we arrived our menus weren't ready. There were no utensils and no glasses on the table. Had to flag down the waitress a couple times. Attentiveness is key for wait staff, and I know myself and the person I came here with felt we were forgotten. There also seemed to be confusion when we asked the waitress for things, almost like she didn't quite understand why we were asking. That would be my only criticism. The waitress we had could clearly have used some further training. It seemed like she was unaccustomed to typical procedures.

Yelp
Uh. The Angry Orchard beer I got from here tasted and SMELLED like expired, sour apple beer. Omg. Wth.
google avatar

Waterboi E.

Yelp
Took an hour for this to come out and had to get up to look for the waitress for a refill

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. Service was lacking. For such a busy place they really need to schedule more than just one bartender/server. I got the Philly cheesesteak. It was dope. Man got the wings and he liked them.
google avatar

Chantell B.

Yelp
Great food and well stocked bar. There is an area in the back that can be reserved for private events. The bartenders are friendly however, if you don't like crowds Saturday nights are not the best time to go. They also have a Dj must weekends

Yelp
Very friendly staff, The turkey burger is nasty the salad is terrible the turkey burger is dry super thin just doesn't have any love to it.

Yelp
I work near this place and this is my first time getting food from here. The chicken was fried to perfect and nicely seasoned. The greens were good and the Mac & Cheese was AMAZING!!! It was so good omg!! I was kind of worried because they only give you three wings in a platter but the wings are huge and fill you up. I called in my order and it was ready exactly when they said it would be. The staff is friendly and professional and the place is clean. They have 2 happy hours, which is crazy!! I also tried the cheesesteak egg rolls which I didn't enjoy at all, hence the 4 stars. I'll definitely be back for another wing platter though!

Yelp
My friends and I usually stop in after work on Thursday's and I have no complaints for the first time I tried the chicken wings (garlic) and I loved them. I wished I ordered 2 orders !! I got them and my Peach Martini on the happy hour for which I paid only $6 each !! Next week I'm getting 2 orders for sure , only complaint are the drinks are a little too strong for some like my friend who almost wasted hers because it was too potent for her.

Yelp
I went there today for lunch with my colleague, We ordered the fried chicken platter with Mac & Cheese and greens. The chicken was good but the hairs was not removed on some of the chicken the greens were good, the macaroni & cheese was dry, it looks like cheese was put in the macaroni but they used cheap cheeses, the macaroni noodles fall from the cheese Every person that makes good macaroni know it should be creamy, every bite you taste cheese. Oh I just noticed there is plenty of buterrrrrrrrrrrrin it.

Yelp
This bar charged me a tip on carry-out six packs of beer. This tip was not authorized, which means it was in violation of their agreement with Visa. Other buyers beware.
google avatar

Natasha L.

Yelp
I so wanted to like this place as they had drinks, greens, and mac and cheese. However, I found an eyelash in my food the second time I got takeout from here.
google avatar

Jai L.

Yelp
I did not eat here. This was an after happy hour stop to party and drink a little more. The drinks were well worth every penny and they weren't expensive at all! The music (on a Friday night) was right on target and the atmosphere was fun but grown. I'll be back again to try the food that my fellow yelpers seem to love.

Yelp
Not a bad place, but it is like your corner store, bar and grocery store all in one. You get what you get because of convenience. Good for takeout, quick eats, reasonably priced. The sandwiches are one of the better choices. I used to have the mussels with pasta, which was really good but as of late it's cook by a different chef and doesn't quite match up. Too salty and just not the same flavor. It is also nice that they have karaoke here as well.

Yelp
Impressed! food, dj, bar tenders, wait staff, vibe- we loved. I asked how they did their collard greens and waitress came back with a a little plate for me to try. it was really loud in there , so this made much more sense for me to just try it. love people with common sense!, lol, They were the best collard greens i have ever had, spicy and garlicky and cooked perfectly. the vibe was positive with such a great flow of hip world reggae electronic (?) music. it was just fused so well. Such pleasant service, I wish I could give the clientle 5 stars too, great dancers! we will be back soon!

Yelp
What a concept- great cheesesteak spot inside a bar. People are cool as hell and the service and vibe are on the level. Love this spot on principle and as a bonus the foods actually legit.

Yelp
I work in the city and this is a convenient little spot for takeout or dine in. Their weekday specials are great deals. Most importantly I have never had a bad meal here. Everything is great. I subtracted two stars for the slow dine in service. Thete is usually only one waitress. Call ahead for takeout. Overall, delicious food and nice relaxed environment.

Yelp
The food was great... I was pleased with the shumai and sampler plate... the bartender is uninformed on drink ingredients... An authentic old fashioned does NOT have vermouth in it... whatever they brought out was nothin close to an old fashioned... more like a Manhattan... only tried the place because it was right next door to the hotel... bad idea...
google avatar

Yelp
Terrific greens, very good and meaty wings, loud hip hop sort of a soul food bar downtown.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
this place should have 100 stars. recently spent a friday night here and had a blast. so many beers, shots, bomb jams, good vibes and a hookah for like, 50 bones. if youre not into that get outta here
google avatar

Yelp
Walking by I saw lunch special on a board $5.99 so I went in for lunch. Fried chicken wings, Mac and cheese, greens, all well made and presented. Just a bar with great lunch at a good price. Was there just a day so have to return next time in Philadelphia. The usual places were packed with convention goers, this was close but none discovered it so it was nearly empty.

Yelp
This place sort of sucks. Sketch looking bar next to town hall. They got a crazy intense hot sauce though. 6 packs for sale too.

Yelp
My favorite place in Philly! Our first visit to this amazing historic city. Beer is great, Well stocked bar. BUT BEST OF ALL is the amazing food. JERK CHICKEN, COLLARD GREENS, MAC AND CHEESE!!!!! I promise you will fall in love wuth this hidden gem in this beautiful city.

Yelp
excellent food, drinks, & staff. A great and convenient location especially if you're in the the city hall area of Philly. Highly recommend this spot for a bite and drink in the city!! :)

Yelp
Normally a cool place to chill, get great drinks, and good food, but have been waiting on an order of chicken fingers and fries for two hours ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Stayed in Le Meridian hotel two doors down. No taxi needed....No cover. Friday night..DJ was jamming (hip hop & rnb), food was cool..nothing phenomenal. Mac and cheese was decent and broccoli was well seasoned. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Not a big crowd but everyone in attendance was dancing. Drinks were not expensive and well made. Quaint dive bar.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
The bartender is a great man. Funny, and pleasant. Can't comment on the food and without the meet up group, it would be dead. Having a fun time

Yelp
My bf and I visited Parkside with a family member for happy hour. It was a Monday so at 5p the place wasn't crowed. We were able to sit in a booth and enjoy our drinks. The specials were good. My bf decided to order wings and they enjoyed them. I would come back, the music was great and the happy hour specials had us feeling good on a Manic Monday.

Yelp
Great food and drink specials conveniently located within walking distance from 15th street station and Love Park. Food is good and bar is clean and modern!!!

John D.

Yelp
A bit of a dive behind the Municipal Building in Center City. The BEST greens I've ever had with good fried wings (fat ones) and mac-n-cheese. Very noisy after work, very loud hiphop and afro music, quite friendly clientele. I'd probably do take-out next time.
google avatar

Eileen K.

Yelp
WORST food ever. The wings are terrible tasted like it was just Tabasco on them fried chicken tasted like frozen banquet chicken. The roast beef was tuff and basically not edible. Collared greens the worst I've ever had Mac and cheese was bland. The only good thing there was the beer. Don't waste your time there are so many great places in the area this just isn't one of them.

Yelp
I have been going to Parkside Beef & Ale (formerly Big Bangs) for many many years now, my job throws our office parties there and even though the name was changed, the food and the atmosphere is still amazing. I just have this one problem. The Manager Augusta. She is the only Bartender that can make the famous Obama drink and now realized that her lemon drop is pretty good as well. However, if you are unfamiliar to her, she will not serve you at all. She is very rude and ignorant. This is the second time that I went to her bar area and asked for a drink, she totally ignored me. Even the customers tried to help me, but once she realized that it was for me, she ignored them as well. Finally a gentlemen had to tell me that if she doesn't know you she will not serve you. I have to go through her regulars. One thing for sure I am an excellent tipper. I love the vibe at Parkside, however, the manager seriously suck

Yelp
My friend wanted to come here for her birthday this past weekend. The wings were good, and the mac and cheese, greens, and friend chicken platter was okay, too. However, this definitely is not the place to come if you're looking for a good night out. We got there after 10, and it was still practically empty. We thought it would start to fill up at 11, but we were wrong. The music is good, but it definitely wasn't worth the $10 we had to pay to get in.

Yelp
Very friendly atmosphere including bartender, waitress, and some nice customers...I enjoyed their Cheese Steak very much...

Yelp
I traveled to Philly for the first time last week. We were walking by, stopped and asked a young man where to get a good cheesesteak. This would be my first, as I'm from Eugene OR. He turned around and said, this place is good. So we went in. The barkeep was a gem, she reminded me of our oh so hot Tina Turner! I asked how good the cheese steak was, she got the cook to come out. Well I told her, this would be my first real Philly cheesesteak, to treat me well. It was so dang good! I ate three while I was in Philly, hands down this was the BEST! We sat and chatted with the locals at the bar, nice guys. The owner came over too and we shared why we were there. To protest the Infectious Disease docs during their ID Week long conference. Us patients with Lyme Disease are simply not getting proper care due to bad Patient Treatment Guidelines. He listed patiently and learned from us. The overall experience was great. I wish I was closer, I'd totally go again. Well done folks!!! Thank you for a great time.
