The administrator, Michael, is incredibly rude and disrespectful. He does not care about the residents here. My aunt is a trach patient that’s blind and immobile and they refused to bring her to her brothers funeral. They waited 2 hours before the funeral before letting us know so we couldn’t even make other arrangements. All of their sister facilities were still doing transit that day. There was absolutely no excuse for it. They’ve also thrown away all of her belongings for seemingly no reason at all and Tracy, the social worker, won’t do anything to make it right since we don’t have receipts. Why in the world would we have receipts for things she owned for years? They offered a $30 amazon gift card as if that was equivalent to irreplaceable belongings. Some of which, our grandmother (her mom) bought her before she passed away. Don’t leave your loved ones here. They abuse and neglect their residents. They dodge phone calls from family and stole my aunts phone so she has no way to contact anyone without their permission. They told her that the government free phones aren’t real anymore which is a blatant lie. If you care about your family member even in the slightest, do not send them here.

I would strongly caution anyone considering this nursing home. There are serious concerns regarding resident safety, supervision, and professional boundaries. There were reports of an unauthorized individual living on-site in a restricted area in exchange for performing work duties, raising major compliance and oversight concerns. There were also disturbing boundary issues, including reports of inappropriate relationships involving residents and ethical concerns regarding personal relationships between medical providers and nursing staff, which appeared to be ignored by administration. One incident involved a resident’s significant other reportedly finding personal clothing in the resident’s bed that did not belong to them. This was not handled transparently. Additionally, there were repeated concerns about overnight nursing staff sleeping during their shifts. As a result, residents were not properly monitored, and at least one situation escalated to a near life-threatening event that was only caught at the last moment. There were also serious concerns raised about staff appearing impaired while on duty. Reports included nurses displaying behaviors consistent with being under the influence while responsible for resident care. These concerns were known and discussed but did not appear to be appropriately addressed by leadership. Overall, these patterns point to systemic failures in accountability, oversight, and resident protection. Families deserve transparency and safety this facility did not demonstrate either.

Do not send anyone you love to this facility. My aunt, a blind, crippled and reach patient is in their “care” currently. They “lost” all of her possessions- most of which we bought her. Stuffed animals, clothes, sentimental items, and toiletries. When this was brought to the administrator, Michael’s, attention - he treated my aunt as if she was lying. They said we needed receipts of everything in order for them to make this right. They never tried to find any of her items for us and gave us attitude when we pushed harder. Also, I arranged to have her transported to my dad (her brother)‘s funeral 4 days before the funeral. I even came in 2 days before to make sure everything was in order and I bought her a brand new outfit to wear. They assured me (they being Tracy the social worker and Michael the admin) that she would be there unless weather prohibited. We got less than a half inch of snow and they canceled 2 hours beforehand. I called every sister facility and they were all doing transit that day still and were appalled at my aunts treatment here. They’ve neglected to let her see a dentist. She’s been there for over 2 years at this point. She had a wheelchair at her previous facility and they’ve yet to get her one here. The administrator- Michael- he actually might be a sociopath. I seriously question his integrity and moral ability to fulfill his role. He had zero sympathy and genuinely seemed to be trying to punish my bed ridden aunt at my family for advocating for her care. Tracy- the social worker- is a fake two faced person who does not have any place being a social worker or representative for any person who’s disabled or probably any human being at all. The entire management staff seems to have zero regard or sympathy for their patients and residents. Any mild inconvenience or push back and they punish their residents. It’s been so bad, that we as a family are taking this up as far as it can go. I strongly discourage anyone who cares even an inkling for who they’re seeking care for from putting them in this facility. Since my dad’s funeral, my family has been calling upset (obviously) and they’ve instructed our staff to not talk to us or to let me talk to my aunt. I’m her main point of contact. How is that legal??

I was attending a funeral to support my friend though the loss of her father. At the funeral we were unable to find my friends aunt, the sister to her father, and it turns out that the admin Michael and the social worker Tracy prevented her from leaving the establishment to grieve and say one last farwell to her brother. Not to mention that all her belongings she was taking with her to move into this establishment were discarded without her say in the matter. These acts negligence and psychological abuse need to be addressed. Please reconsider moving a relative to this establishment with a staff that will take your money and treat your loved ones in this terrible manner.

If I could give this place negative reviews I would. Please don't put your family members in this place because they won't get the proper care AT ALL.

This place sucks. Very unprofessional staff… attitudes and excuses more than competence and compassion. The level of ignorance with certifications in that place is a joke. My son gained his wings living in this crappy facility. Imagine getting a call from a personal cell saying, and I quote, “ we was just in his room, we don’t know what happened?”… “ his heart stopped while we were in the room”…… Lie after lie… baths weren’t given regularly, he had numerous infections from not being changed, a folly catheter that was so gross Mercy Hospital advised us to move him asap! Having to install Alexa so that he could call family if the aides or nurses didn’t put his call light back within reach of his mouth….. Did I mention attitudes? And don’t try to call and check on your loved one after 2-3pm because the phone just rings and rings… THEY NEVER ANSWER! Which is ironic because when you walk in the facility there is ALWAYS a slew of beached whales at the “ nurses” station. When my son passed, the Director of Nursing nor the Director of the facility reached out. Pathetic. I was never given a timeframe to pick up his belongings either. I went in to get his stuff And the staff had rifled through his things. The futon in his room was missing…. One person said it was in a shed another said it was in another patient’s room!! His fire stick… missing… even down to bottled water I’d just bought 2 days before he coded… gone! The sheer lack of empathy with most of the staff is mind boggling! These are supposed to be CAREtakers… instead they are CRAPgivers!!!! The Director of Nursing is trash! The facility director…. Trash! My son was no saint but he was a patient and their personal feelings towards my son were the basis for the staff they employed to treat him any way they wanted to. Amanda, the recruiter, was kind. She was very friendly and painted a picture of a place that is truly only accurate in a Metaverse sequence. And sadly with Drake Center closing, more patients will endure what my son did…. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, choose somewhere else. This place doesn’t foster a loving and caring environment especially on weekends when little to no management are in the building or accessible in any way. And calling state is a joke because they are better actors than they are medical professionals!!!! I wish I’d listened to my son when he said they don’t care and if he stayed there he would end up dead….. because he did. I have tons of pictures and video of the filth he was left in…. Many, many times ….as well as audio messages from my son scared because his call light wasn’t within reach….. You can pretty much ask ANY real medical professional at ANY neighboring hospital what they think about the care at Parkside …. And their response will be way worse than what I’ve written. Err on the side of caution…. The only grace in this whole sad situation is my son is in heaven not having to be treated terribly by terrible “Medical staff”.

Dirty, dank and smelly facility. Rude and vindictive staff. Careless leadership. I am genuinely confused how this place has remained open

My mother is here and I feel better knowing wonderful nurses and aides like Tiffany are taking good care of her. It fills my heart and makes it easier to have a peace of mind. She is a ventilator patient and I have no idea how to care for these things. Thank you Parkside staff for taking such good care of ms pat. She is treated like family and that is so appreciated
