Parkside is a decent place to grab food/drinks, but I wouldn't say that I'm necessarily a fan. Although I appreciated the fireplace, artfully placed decorations, and the array of board games available to play, I just thought this place was a bit too cramped to warrant anything over a three star rating. It also seems that there's a few kinks at Parkside that need to be worked out. For instance, one of the workers had the responsibility of being both a bartender and a server. This isn't too big of an issue, but it's noteworthy to mention that because of this setup, it took a while for my group's food and drinks to come out.
I was impressed by the Parkside Plate ($12), which came with two types of cured meat, two types of cheeses, apple slices, grapes, pickled stuff, and a flavorful berry jam. I'm a huge fan of charcuterie boards, but I often find myself disappointed by the portions and the high price. For the price, this is a pretty well-put together board. If I return, I'd definitely order this again. I also shared a chicken ciabatta sandwich ($9) with a side of potato salad. The potato salad was nice and creamy, and the sandwich itself tasted high quality. The tomatoes in it tasted extremely fresh and were packed with a bunch of flavor. Although tasty, I wouldn't necessarily order this again. Overall, my experience at Parkside was A-OK, but I doubt that I'll find myself craving to revisit.
