How To Drink Your Way Through the Winter Olympics in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"In Las Vegas and Henderson, I saw that PKWY Tavern’s three locations are offering TEAM App loyalty members a free domestic beer every time the U.S. wins a gold medal, and dine-in guests receive a discount on their total bill based on the U.S. gold medal count at that time." - Susan Stapleton

Budget Vegas: How to Save Money in Las Vegas in 2025

"I saw PKWY Tavern recommended for reverse happy hour across multiple locations, meaning you can often score late-night food and drink specials at many of its spots on the Strip instead of paying full dinner or bar prices." - Matthew Kepnes

Google
5/5 stars! This dive bar is a hidden gem with a heart of gold! Been a couple of times and the staff are like family - they'll greet you by name and have your drink ready before you even order. The decor is a blast from the past, with vintage signs and memorabilia covering every inch of wall space. Don't skip the dill dip (it's made in-house). If you're looking for a spot that's equal parts divey and welcoming, look no further. Cheers to many more years of good times and great vibes!

Google
Fantastic tavern in a beautiful neighborhood in north end. A huge variety of tasty local beers. Beautifully decorated with a warm inviting atmosphere. Didn’t have food but heard (and saw) that it’s fantastic. Lots of games including shuffleboard, darts and pool for only 50 cents!!

Google
We've been coming here a couple decades now. Excellent beer selection, dog friendly patio, friendly people. So great on a sunny day, but cozy on a rainy one. Full on Tacoma locals spot.

Google
Minimum amount to tip is 20%. Brothers, just raise the prices of the drinks and food. If I get a couple Rainier beers and the lowest tip option starting at me is 20% when I have been doing my own service, I’m going to piss my pants. C’mon. Either pay your employees a livable wage or allow us to tip 10-20%. No one tips 30% unless they are crazy or have insane money.

Google
This place is great. It is not near my house, or I would go there more often. There's just a welcoming atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably priced, they have a huge draft selection, and I love the neighborhood. Definitely a fun spot.

Google
This review was meant for Hanks! I don't know how to change it. ------------- Dog friendly outdoors and service is at the bar. You get a table number and food is brought out promptly. There are TV screens outside but they didn't bother us (we don't watch TV while out to dinner). Great atmosphere! We want to see it when the grapes are ripe!

Google
Great little watering hole with a good amount of beer and cider styles on tap. The food is typical fare but well done. Atmosphere is fun and the staff is EXCELLENT. I come in with my mom every month or so and the staff always remembers us and is super helpful and eager to let us try a bunch of different beers.

Google
Every city has a place that harks back to earlier and simpler times. This place is that place. Almost frozen in time. This place has the ambiance of the old social pubs of the early days, where you meet the people of your community over a pint or two. Remember to cherish the vanishing treasures as newer establishments will never have the history and class or the years past.

Yelp
There are a few established taverns in Austin, Billy's and the Draught House, but I have to say Parkway Tavern in Tacoma is hands down the most the amazing scenario. Nestled is an old neighborhood, surrounded by huge trees and beautiful flowers, has an ambiance that surpasses anything I have ever seen. It's a neighborhood bar, full service, with great beers on tap and great drinks. I spent two weeks in Tacoma with my sister, and we visited almost everyday. I met Jessie and Camille amongst sweet people. So very friendly. Their food options were special. I loved their simple hamburger and adored the dill pickle dip, I went home that night and found a similar recipe and made it for a party at my niece's. If you ever get up there, please find the time to stop by. I swear you won't regret it. This bar was established in 1935!!

Yelp
I haven't been to The Parkway in years. I forgot how many beers they had on tap! Such good stuff. The staff was super friendly and the vibe is very chill.

Yelp
My husbands favorite bar. He loves going for their Randall night on Mondays. Has been doing it every year since he moved here. They have a short menu, but everything is yummy. Though I'm not a beer drinker the other options they have are always great for me. Service is quick. Very dive bar feel

Yelp
Our neighborhood pub. We love it here so much. Great beer/bartenders and such a cozy vibe. It reminds me of "cheers". It can get really busy on Friday and Saturday nights. I also love having lunch here on quiet afternoons. The food is always fresh and delicious. So many local rotating taps, too. And love the casual outdoor seating when it's nice out.
google avatar

Sky F.

Yelp
Great food, very clean, great beer, REAL bartenders, great bar to sit at. A negative for me personally is that it gets too busy at times, but that just means management knows what they're doing. So I avoid the busy times and it's perfect. I also really enjoy the front patio when the weather's good. The only reason I seldom go here any more is that it's not really my crowd - I'm a bum compared to most of the patrons. So I go here to sit by myself at the bar, have a great beer and burger and maybe journal or read a good book. My girlfriend and I go here together every now and then to play pool in the back room - we both love that area.

Yelp
This is a good neighborhood, burger and beer place. Close to my home & very convenient. It's been there since the 1930s so prides itself on being legendary. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't very crowded so can't say what it would be like on any other given night. might be a a little more entertaining and lively.

Yelp
My Uber took me to the wrong tavern and I am thankful! What a cool indoor outdoor atmosphere. If you like beer this is your place! They had so many awesome beers on tap and you can tell the cycle the selection! I had the pickle dip special Tyand it was tasty! I also ate the caprese burger! What great flavor the burger had and the meat was definitely not frozen! Bartenders were very busy but managed the chaos very well!

Yelp
Came here with my family while in the Seattle area for a long weekend. We love a classic tavern and this place delivered. Great beer selection, wonderful atmosphere and service, menu was no fluff and food was delicious. Will be back!

George B.

Yelp
I've wanted to come here for years and finally found myself in the area with a group of hikers. I expected to be impressed with the beer menu, which I was, but the flavor of the hamburger blew me away. Spot on!! Have a new fav spot for burgers. Just wish it was a little closer to home. And I discovered a new brewery out of Washougal that they had on tap. Very tasty IPA. Have to visit them next time I'm near Grains of Wrath in Camas.

Kate P.

Yelp
This is a great place to convene with friends, with some quiet and some more upbeat areas to sit depending on the vibe of your crew. One thing I really appreciate is that they nearly always have at least one sour on draft. I like beer but my body sadly doesn't like hops and it's nice to always have something available that works for me. If you happen to go in soon, I enjoy the spicy pickle sour they have currently. I haven't had their real meat burgers, but the black bean burger is a solid choice. I've never had an issue finding street parking in the area.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Great beer selection. 30? Plus beers on tap. Great notion, Russian river.....it's a great and welcoming neighborhood bar. Eclectic place with young and old. An on my 3rd visit I discovered pool table and pinball. My favorite spot in Tacoma, there is food and it's pretty good for a bar.
google avatar

Gage G.

Yelp
I have come here often enough to know their menu by [allost] heart. It's a few blocks away and I absolutely love the staff, atmosphere, games, and menu/value! Their soups are to die for and they offer Tim's chips which are absolutely bomb. It's only a tavern so no liquor but that doesn't stop them from slinging brews left and right Tonight I got a Jalepeno burger with soup of the day Clam Chowder w/ Bacon. I am never disappointed whenever I come here. Always a great default option
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Every neighborhood should have a Parkway! Tucked into a neighborhood with no other commercial property in sight. Friendly and lively with a markedly young crowd with a magnificent menu of NW craft beers.
google avatar

Marquie J.

Yelp
Lovely small neighborhood tavern (beer, wine, cider) and grill (burgers, sandwiches, soup, salads). Food is delicious. Small menu, but more personality than most. Servers were attentive and kind. Their keg refrigeration system went kaput the day before we were there. They had most of their kegs on ice- I hope they can get a new system soon!

Yelp
I've been coming in with a friend for a while now on Thursdays for some dinner and drinks (and company). First up: Peyton is the best! Whenever I need a recommendation for a drink she finds the perfect one. She's friendly and knowledgeable about what they're pouring. Next up: The food. I've tried most of the sandwiches and a few of the burgers and all of them have been pretty good. Everything I have tried has been good - my fave has been the BBQ beef with jalapeños. The atmosphere is fun and exactly what you want from a neighborhood tavern - which is why I come by regularly. Stop by Parkway and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What a cute find! Came to Parkway Tavern for date night recently and I can see why it's a local favorite. I can't speak much to the menu as we didn't eat, but there's a few things that sound really good - especially the Pesto Chicken Sandwich! We were surprised that they didn't have Bodhi on tap (that's happened a few times recently!) but we ended up trying another hazy IPA that we both really enjoyed. Since it was a Friday night, it was pretty packed. Open seating. We decided to enjoy our beers outside in the front beer garden (more like beer porch, it's big enough for 2-3 couples to hang out), and since it was a warm night, it was the perfect setup! Glad I got to check it out - I'm sure we'll return!

Yelp
Great place. Friendly staff. Jessica was a delight. Recommend for a nice pint and good food. Chill place in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Definitely will be back! Thanks Jessica!

Yelp
What's not to love about this place? Great bar food and even better beers. They have the best selection of rotating brews in the area. Every time I come to town this is my first stop hands down. The bartenders are also very knowledgeable. Thank you, Parkway Tavern.

Yelp
We absolutely love parkway tavern. It's a great local hangout spot with super friendly staff. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff is here. We used to come in often after work (pre-covid) and they always knew what our orders were and would bring it to us Today a couple of my coworkers and I decided to have lunch at parkway. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with a side salad. The food was prepared quickly and it was so delicious. The burger was juicy and tasty and the patty was a good size. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy and the cheese was perfectly melted on the patty. I wish I could capture the smell in the photo. It was heavenly.

Yelp
Great place for beers and the ambience makes it hard to leave. The service is great, it's my go to place in Tacoma. Best bar.
google avatar

Peter Y.

Yelp
This might be my new favorite bar! It was my first time, and the staff were so friendly and considerate. It was also very clean inside which is a plus. All the drinks that they recommended to me were so good, I will definitely be back! And everyone inside seemed happy that they were here, that is rare.

Yelp
Parkway is my favorite bar in Tacoma. It's pretty hipster, but the servers are always exceptionally welcoming and often make a point to remember your name while you're there. It always feels like you're at a friend's house for a big party, and make no mistake, this is a well-attended party. We've always been fortunate enough to score seats without too much waiting, but think twice before going on a weekend. The walls are lined with photos of Tacoma's history, and the rafters are lined with draft pulls. It's a cool space, walking a very approachable line between dive bar and classy lounge. Behind the bar you'll find one of the largest selection of beers in Tacoma, from local and seasonal specials to tried-and-true favorites. The bartenders are ready to offer samples so you can experiment without regretting your pours. Food highlights include their mushroom-swiss burger and their teriyaki burger. Their meat is wonderfully seasoned, making them among the best burgers in Tacoma. But instead of fries they serve bagged chips. Delicious burgers marred by lackluster sides. EDIT: Apparently they have fries now! They serve garlic, pesto, or chili waffle fries as a separate side -- they don't come with the burgers or sandwiches. We got the chili cheese fries and they were...alright. This used to be the only place in Tacoma where you could find Mac n Jack's Serengeti Wheat beer, one of my favorites, but they haven't had it the last three times I've visited. Whether you're a local or a tourist, if you're in Tacoma, Parkway and Top of Tacoma are the two bars you need to visit.

Yelp
Excellent local tavern with an extensive selection of beer. We stopped here on our first night in Tacoma to play some darts and have a drink. Warm friendly atmosphere with a great staff.
google avatar

Amelia H.

Yelp
We visited Parkway over a year ago and were put off by the smell of B.O. immediately when we walked in. We haven't been back since - until tonight - we decided to give it another shot! Unfortunately, the stench is still VERY present. Great selection of beer & nice staff - just might need to crack a window or spray some febreeze.
google avatar

Ilene W.

Yelp
Awesome neighborhood tavern that's been around since 1935. A totally local feel and the clam chowder was great!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
We had a great time here. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable in the vast beer selection they have to offer suggestions based on my likes. We all ordered sandwiches and the clam chowder was VERY good!!! So good we then ordered anther round of clam chowder with our beers. The place is nice and clean. No parking lot so it's all street parking and in neighborhood. If i lived in this neighborhood this place would be the awesome neighborly bar/restaurant. We will definitely be coming back to this place again.

Yelp
Such a warm and inviting place! The food feeds your soul and the servers are so friendly. One of our new favorite Sunday lunch spots.

Michael T.

Yelp
This is a great little find in Tacoma. With an extensive beer list and great food to go with it you won't be disappointed if you stop in to this small quaint little tavern.
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Come for the beer, avoid the food. The tap selection is among the best in the area, and the dive-y atmosphere is great, if that's what you're looking for. Unfortunately, the pro's end there, as the food quality is mediocre at best. I had the jalapeño burger with a side soup of the day (beer cheese); the burger was cooked well-done and didn't have much (any?) seasoning. The soup was thin and runny. Sub-par overall, even by bar food standards. I will return, but only for the excellent rotating beer selection.

Yelp
Love this place ! I lived near here in the the late eighies . I was only 19 at the time , so I wasn't able to enjoy a beer . Well Here I am , returning to you charming little "nook" of a tavern . My daughter, joining me this day , made it extra special ! We were celebrating Mother's Day , which made it almost story book sweet . We each enjoyed a couple beers and shared an awesome prime rib dip which was accompanied by delightful green salad . Best of all were the cheerful servers and of course the absolutely beautiful surroundings !! We sat near a window looking out into a side yard flanked with gorgeous perennial bushes , all perfectly drowned and healthy !! Thank you so much Parkway Tavern for taking me back to the tail end of my teen years !!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place especially the outdoor, love there beer and cider selections must stop by and get a beer or two when your thirsty

Rosie C.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere of this place and their burgers lol. It's casual, the people are friendly and I love that I can order food. It's basically everything I want in a neighborhood bar.
google avatar

Ricky R.

Yelp
We have visited this place prior to this trip, but I think i must have forgotten to write a review. This place is cool. We came again on New Years Eve 2018 for dogfish head ale evening. The beer selection was amazing, the prices were very fair, the beer was awesome, and the staff while busy and could have easily been frazzled, were super nice and cool. We will definitely make another trip. On our prior trip we tried some food, but I would honestly have to try it again before rating, I barely remember it. I think places like this and Redhot are becoming some of my favorite places in Tacoma. They have good snacky food, and a great beer selection, some local some further but always new stuff to try. I love going to breweries, especially new ones, but revisiting the same breweries typically means drinking the same beer. I think 2019 will be more trips to places like this and less trips to breweries... but I always say crazy things in the morning.
google avatar

Rachael W.

Yelp
Very cute, nice little quaint neighborhood spot. Staff was very welcoming and lovely. Definitely will come back!
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
Great ambience, fun energy, large beer selection on tap. Didn't try food but it looked good!
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Haven't been in for years. Took a quick tour and had to leave. the sour beer smell (likely in the old carpet?) was so bad we drove over to Hanks

Jacob L.

Yelp
Best Bar burgers I have ever had! Staff was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, thanks Jessie! Parking anywhere in this neighborhood can be difficult at times but it's well worth it, Jalapeno burger is my favorite but if never tasted anything bad out their kitchen!
google avatar

Joel M.

Yelp
Great neighborhood pub feel with wide ranging tap list and friendly service. Food was very good as well with burgers and salads. Nice feel with big windows and easy street parking. Great mid afternoon stop in Tacoma.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
Excellent selections of brews, local and otherwise. Oftentimes meet friends here to have a nice time at a great local bar. Only wished they had a fryer for fries, but they do have other options.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a beer and a game of pool 7/28/21 5:30.....WORST customer service ever!!!!! Asked about their menu and she gives us attitude. So out the door I go! I'm writing this to warn someone else and maybe the owner will see it and realize she's costing you money. The "waitress " has no business working around the public!
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING. There is a reason this place has been around for so long! I have never had a bad time here. The service is always wonderful, the bartenders go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. There is a rotating beer menu with over 20 beers on it. They also service wine. They have games in the back, so make sure to bring your quarters! If you are in the area and like beer, this is a must must must try!
google avatar

Stevie B.

Yelp
I have been to Parkway Tavern dozens of times. Mainly on Mondays for Randal nights. Never have I ever ordered food or ate there. Until today. I went for the Barley Wine Brunch and my goodness! 29 beers for the tasting and a lovely spring inspired smorgasbord of food to choose from. The food was delicious and everyone went back for more. My favorites was the Banana Bread French Toast with the Barleywine Rosemary Syrup. The sweet flavors of the French toast were greatly complimented with the Rosemary Syrup. Next time there's a Barleywine Brunch go!!!! It is worth the money and the wait.

Sir Snacks A Lot ..

Yelp
Let me begin by saying that I love Parkway and have been a patron for a long time! Strange smells (smokey), strange looks, strange vibe and strange strangers make this a "must visit" when on the hunt for craft beer in the greater Tacoma area. I just wish they'd post their tap list online for hunters like myself, so we can see what's on tap and prepare accordingly. I love to hunt taps and go find rare beers, which Parkway has a ton of. I searched all over the Park Way website, but no info on the plethora of taps the have to offer. Please don't make me hunt and/or join some site to see what you're selling. This aside, Parkway is well established and I always make a point to stop by when I'm in the area. The regulars are fun to visit with, too. You should really check out Parkway Tavern!

Yelp
After a long day at work, an unannounced band recital, and an entirely empty stomach, I prowled Tacoma with trusty Yelp app in hand in search of food. Please please please somewhere be open. I do not drink, but the only places open this late were taverns. In business clothes I quietly sat at a table in the establishment while revelers cavorted and frolicked on a Wednesday night. Humpday, of course. The scene was happening...couples, groups, lots of fun to be had. BTW some of these people had game, much to my amusement while rudely eavesdropping. But on to the burger... Scrumptious it was: juicy meat with fresh toppings pillowed against a soft bun, just the way Mama likes it. It was served with a crisp green salad. Yum. The service was excellent as well. Finally, they serve beer, many kinds apparently. I did not imbibe as previously mentioned, but others did and seemed happier for it. Can't wait to return.
google avatar

Tanya B.

Yelp
For some reason I thought that there would be hard liquor here but there wasn't. Not a disappointment though -plenty to look at - good beers -1000 taps and seems like a really good vibe ........ and to boot there is an Aerosmith pinball machine and really yummy popcorn!
google avatar

Gary B.

Yelp
Unlike the last idiot who left a one star review for taking a minor into a bar....and then getting mad that they legally can't have her in A BAR....I have been to the Parkway. First off, the beer selection is AMAZING. They are meticulous about their beer and what they bring in. You go in there at any time and they will have 5 or more beers you will want to try (no matter your style). The service is even better. The staff knows their beer and everything on the menu. You aren't sure what you like? Just tell them what you normally like and they will make a great recommendation. The food. It is what you will typically find in a "tavern" setting, but don't let the name fool you. The food here is really solid as well. Great place and great vibe.....just be over 21 (and not leave bad reviews because you can't follow the law)....lol
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar to stop in for a pint! The staff was very friendly. There are multiple local beers to choose from. Great place to just hang out and enjoy some beer and get a feel for Tacoma.
google avatar

Alden C.

Yelp
Not too bad of a pub! Parkway Tavern has lots of different beers on tap which is nice to see such variety. I did notice that at the time they had Mac and Jack's Serengeti Wheat which I haven't had in a while. It isn't the tavern's fault at all but the richness of the wheat didn't seem like it once was which was disappointing. I ordered off of the food menu and enjoyed what I had! In the appetizer section they had nachos which proved to be very tasty and their portion was generous but not too overwhelming which was good to see. The service was pretty solid. At times though there were pockets where it seemed like we were waiting a while for our food and our bill but no significant complaints. A good place to go with friends to just hang out and chill!

Jessica A.

Yelp
Had the BEST time here on a Monday night, our bartender (I think his name was Sean) was so kind and recommended some beer to us and even took his time to explain and describe everything you could tell he was passionate about his job! He was awesome. We also had a cheeseburger and it was DELICIOUS! The gummy bear tap beer thingy they do is sooo magical i hope they never stop! We bounced to a couple taprooms in the area but this one from the start was our fave
