On the Grid : Parliament Hill and Fields

"Walk to the top of Parliament Hill for panoramic views of London and on windier days, fly a kite or watch others having a go. There are plenty of activities in the surrounding fields to get involved in like tennis, boules, table tennis, lawn bowls, athletics and swimming, plus there’s even a Quidditch team that trains here every Saturday. Or if you’re looking for a slower pace like us, buy some supplies from the Farmers’ Market or nearby shops and find a good spot for a picnic, just as Damien did with his family in The Omen before things took a darker turn." - Chrissie Macdonald & Andrew Rae

Yelp
I really like this place. There are ten hard courts, all of them in excellent condition that can be booked three days in advance once you've taken out the annual membership for £10.50. As my partner is a student an hours booking on the court is £2.60 and if nobody wants your court straight after they do not kick you off. If you want lessons you can attain information concerning LTA qualified teachers from the registration hut next to court no.1. I definitely recommend coming down on the off-peak hours as after 6pm the courts are always booked in the summer months. My favourite time to play is 8am in the morning when the courts open, and nobody is around to see how shoddy I am. Roger Federer is safe for a little while yet.
