Medellín Was Named the Best City for Urban Green Space
"A riverside network of parks offering roughly 71,800 square meters of accessible outdoor space within the urban core; designed as part of a broader 'green corridors' initiative, the riverside park network helps cool the built environment, improve air quality, and give residents and visitors a convenient, walkable place to relax and enjoy nature without leaving the city." - Opheli Garcia Lawler
The South American City Just Named As The Best In The World For Green Space
Running along the river that cuts through Medellín, this network of green spaces lines the banks with accessible nature right in the middle of the city. Described as part of the reason locals rate their access to green space as ‘good’ or ‘amazing’, these riverside parks form a continuous corridor of greenery that softens the sprawling urban landscape and integrates nature into everyday city life. - Liv Kelly
The right name is actually Paseo del Rio. It is a very contemporaneous urban park above and along the Medellin River. The entire place is design to facilitate contact with nature while you relax in beautiful urban furniture. The perfect spot to admire the local Alumbrados. There is a small restaurant inside where the coffee is delicious. Highly recommended for everyone, no matter what you do or wether you are alone, with family or with friends. If you are an urban arquitect, get ready to drool.

My favorite park in the city. Modern, quiet, nature driven and great to visit on sunset.
Has electric scooters for rental through Woosh app. Bikes too but it require a City Card. Scooters are a great and cheap way to know every inch of the park.
Definitely would visit again.

Parque del Río in Medellín is absolutely stunning, especially during the Christmas lights. We visited during the holiday season, and the decorations were truly breathtaking. The lights, atmosphere, and overall setup create a magical experience that’s perfect for a walk and for enjoying the city. A must-see if you’re in Medellín during Christmas!

What a great park! Excellent place to go for a walk, a run, or just hang out for a while and watch the dogs play or the people pass by.

A beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon with family, friends, or pets. Rollerblading, running, riding a rented bike, picnicking, walking. It was delightful.

This park was so beautifully decorated with lights during December 2025. I had a great time walking around with my friends during their Festival of Lights. We thoroughly enjoyed the food truck that had burgers and fries.
