13 Best Steakhouses in Buenos Aires | Condé Nast Traveler

"The line at the entrance will strike you first. La Brigada is of BA's legendary steakhouses, and owner Hugo Echevarrieta's success has taken it upwards—literally and figuratively, given that it now occupies three floors of this San Telmo corner. It ticks a lot of boxes: succulent beef, solid if mainstream wine list, and rooms covered in sports memorabilia." - Sorrel Moseley-Williams

I love coming here. The atmosphere is unique. You get the best meat, in a very Argentinian environment but prepared for tourists. It’s not tacky and the food is wonderful. Vitel tone was soo tasty. And the meat so tender that they cut it with a spoon. Wine selection is very appropriate for the food menu. Value for money is fair.

Google
Really awesome steak restaurant with a soccer theme! The steak is so tender they cut and check if you are happy with the cook using the spoon! Great side dishes of salad, garlic chips, and baked cheese! Good options for the wine list to choose from.

Bernhard Birkeland

Google
It is a great place with a warm atmosphere. Good food, but I think it was a bit expensive compared to similar places. It's not a high-end place, so I don't know why it's like that. That's why I gave it 4 stars.

Nina S

Google
Definitely a cool experience for every soccer fan :) going there once is a must, but once is also sufficient. Meat is really good. Had a nice evening ☺️

Google
La Brigada is a temple to football as much as it's a temple to beef. Everywhere you look, the walls and ceilings are covered in jerseys and other paraphernalia celebrating Argentina's favourite sport. The beef's not bad either. My wife declared her lomo (filet mignon) was the best cut of beef she'd had so far in Argentina. My ojo de bife (ribeye) was excellent as well. There's a wide choice of starters, but we opted for a fine arugula salad and tasty fries. There's also a huge wine list.. much of it quite pricey, but there are some good, more reasonably priced choices as well. Service is professional and efficient by an all male staff who look like they've all been there since it opened in 1992.

Google
A very touristy place. The decor is nice with football theme. The service was very friendly. The kitchen however is very slow. A disappointing note was the ribeye that doesn’t come with the ribeye cap.

Google
May look like a tourist trap but far from it great service excellent quality meats and good value wine can’t recommend enough dessert even if it didn’t look good in the pic was outstanding

Susana Delait

Google
If you want to have one of the most authentic Argentinian parrilla experience, don’t miss this place! They’ll serve you top quality Argentinian beef, the menu is pretty diverse, even if you don’t eat meat, you’ll find many other options . Great desserts , flan de dulce de leche, panqueques, both apple and dulce de leche ones are delicious! The service is excellent and it’s a classic!

Yelp
This is the exact definition of a tourist trap. While there is so much hype about this place and the decor is really cool, the moment we set foot in this place, it was an off-putting experience. We came here so my husband could try the steak so tender, it's ceremoniously cut with a spoon. I'm not a big time meat eater, so I had the provolneta (too salty and charred) and some pasta with tomato sauce. The food was okay, but the prices were ridiculous. We skipped desert, partly because the prices on the deserts were more than some of the entrees. A big red flag. One of the things we did not appreciate was this awkward moment when it seemed like they were trying to give us alcohol we didn't order. Neither my husband or I drinks, so we had to explain that we didn't want it. The spaghetti I ordered was bare bones pasta with tomato sauce. I was really expecting a more elevated dish for the prices we paid. My husband said his steak was good, but definitely not worth the hype this place has. While the soccer memorabilia was fun to look at, the weirdness of the meal and this constant feeling that we were going to be charged for things we didn't want or the surreptitious way the desert was more expensive than some entrees really kept us on our guard. I would steer clear of this place. We had many enjoyable and wonderful dining experiences in BA and this one was a total outlier. Not worth the stress for sure.

Yelp
As featured on the chef's table I came with high expectations, I made the reservation months before coming to Argentina. Messed up on the time zone and was 2 hours late to our reservation and they still seated us. Took pictures of the menu as they were no where to be found, surprised for a place being around as long as this they would have a web site or someone would have taken photos of the menu. Ordered their best 3 steak entries and all 3 had gristle galore, so much that I had to take a picture of our plate from the meat that we couldn't even chew. This was the 2nd steakhouse in Buenos Aires we went to and were so disappointed. Steaks in the US pale in comparison as my whole life I heard how awesome the quality and flavor of the steaks were. Sizzler and Texas roadhouse put these places to shame. Let's not include Flemings, Ruth Chris, Morton's, StripSteak, Peter Luger, or The Capital Grille to name a few pretty awesome steakhouses. Service was fine, food came out slowly, they didn't cook our one steak's properly and brought it out blood rare which is a 'no-no' in any steakhouse to not cook them perfectly per the guest's liking. For sure won't be back but glad we got to try the 2nd highest rated steakhouse in all of Buenos Aires.

Yelp
The atmosphere is maximalism at its finest. Adorned in futbol memorabilia and other Argentine related items from head to toe. The bread service is pretty good. Soft, dense, and the olive oil on the table enhances. The lamb tongues are served cold with a heavy relish of chimmichurri. Reminds me of spam with a recognizable lamb taste that wasn't over the top. Not the most accessible dish, but I enjoyed it. I got a variety of sausages. The salchicha was my favorite! It tastes like a cheese with how it was cured. The chorizo de jaboda(?) was pretty good! Not as wild and gamey as I thought I would be for wild boar, but it was still super juicy and savory. The morcilla was good, but I had to save room for the steak, so I didnt eat as much. What I will say is the morcilla has a pronounced offal taste but not to the point that it's overwhelming. For the steak, I got the tapa de ojo (top of the ribeye). They show off how tender it is by cutting it with a spoon. It was tender, but it also has some chew to it. There's also no sear, so you don't get much of a crust. Especially with the blue dollar rate, it's a good deal for what you get. Just realize its not going to be like a steak from America. The empanada breading is fantastic, while the actual meat lacks any sort of flavor. For someone who only focuses on texture, then this may be a great choice for you. I just wish it was more flavorful.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. The service was fabulous. Ambience is casual and futbol memorabilia fills the rooms. But don't let that distract you from what you came for..... steak! The server suggested what to get and we started with a wonderful malbec ($50). Delicious warm rolls are brought out with olive oil for dipping. We split a salad, potatoes, a thin steak, and a filet. They cut the steak with a spoon; it's so tender. We totally enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend this steakhouse.

Yelp
If you're looking to avoid the tourist trap steakhouses and prices, go to La Brigada. Located in a quaint area of San Telmo surrounded by restaurants,, cafes and the San Telmo Mercado, the steaks are delicious, and the server really cuts your steak with a spoon! Friendly service, though English is not readily spoken. If you're a sports fan, you'll enjoy all the futbol jerseys hung on the walls next to photos of all types of sports. The top of ribeye, Corizo de Bife (NY Strip) and filet mignon were all sampled and prepared medium-medium rare. Nicely seasoned and juicy. Enjoy!

Yelp
I love the atmosphere of this place. If you like fútbol this is a place not to be missed in BA. The memorabilia is very impressive. The staff is always attentive and very professional. The food really never disappoints.

Yelp
I came in here with several of my colleagues while on a business trip. They had been here several times before and highly recommended it. I can now see why. We made reservations beforehand and were quickly seated upon arrival. Our server spoke enough English to help us and the menu was also written in English. The restaurant is located in a very vibrant area with many restaurants and bars. Definitely a fun place to go out. By local standards this is a more expensive restaurant but we all felt it was worth every penny. There were eight of us and we all ordered some type of steak. We started off with an appetizer of the Provençale Cheese appetizer. It is baked provolone and was incredible. After that I had a caprese salad and the tomatoes were ripe and perfect. They also brought out amazing bread and breadsticks with a dipping sauce that were also delicious. After the salads our steaks arrived. They brought them all out on a platter and then used a spoon to cut into each steak to ensure that the doneness was perfect and to show you how amazingly tender the steak is. Between all of us we ordered the garlic french fries, scalloped potatoes, and fresh spinach. Of these, the french fries were my absolute favorite and I could have made a meal out of them. The filet steak was massive and after eating everything else we had had I ended up taking 2/3 back to my hotel with me. After dinner a caramel crêpe type dessert was ordered and it too was phenomenal. I would absolutely recommend coming here. You may pay a bit more than you would at some of the other area restaurants but it will be worth every penny that you pay. The food, the service, and the ambience were all terrific.

Yelp

Yelp
Hoy volví después de 2 años a mi país. Mi primer noche en mi país y con muchas ansias. La atención de Damian y la comida fueron excelentes. Damian nos cortó la carne con una cuchara. Increíble!

Yelp
Great find on our latest trip to Buenos Aires. Eclectic decor of soccer memorabilia, and old world chandelier and molding. Offer a wide range of wines in different prices in a higher end, so you can easily get a bottle that will be more than your meal. LOL which happened to me, when I said I wanted a small bottle of malbec. Don't get me wrong the Rutini Malbec they brought was great with my meal it was just sticker shock when we got the bill for the half bottle, was more than my steak. Now the steak on the other hand that we got, was so good and tender that they used a fork to split the steak between us. It melted in our mouth, the morcilla, and chorizo was seasoned well and delish. The cut we got was a NY strip and what they call top ribeye, cooked perfectly! Will definitely be back on our next visit to BA

Yelp
Another year! Back again.... Lulu worried about ordering the corte especial given the last time didn't measure up to the 1st rendition But not to worry it was great! as well as the starters of wild boar sausage & saltier chorizo with arugula & mixed green salads...I loved the bone in short rib roast Lulu less so...then right when food arrived, Tajo woke up wide so TA strolled him back Casa Bolivar took his meal to go I had requested an El Enemigo Malbec ...none..was directed to a 2017 Redon estate Bramare Malbec very rich delicious 14.7% heavy duty! Superb service! great ambiance!

Yelp
I had a nice lunch here. I've ate steak all over the world prepared in all different styles - Japan's famed wagyu A-5, 18 day dry aged Kansas City rib eye, 30 day dry aged prime, 15-day dry aged prime, etc. So, how does this steak stack up? I'm not going to tell you just yet. First off, I had the classic New York cut which is called bife de chorizo. If you can't eat a full portion, you can ask them for half. And you can't eat a full. These bad boys are cut thicckkk. They grill it in the classic style. Definitely some nice textures from that. The meat is hearty and you'll have to chew but not because it's tough junk quality; it's because these cows actually got a chance to use their muscles out on the field. The steak had a detectable beefiness that you don't get from grocery store bought steak. Keep in mind this is just straight up grilled steak - they add just a light touch of salt but the rest of the flavor is that beef. You don't get that undercurrent of beef flavor from grocery steaks that's for sure. So, I'm tired of typing. The steak was good. Not mind blowing. But good. The service was good. The sides and appetizers and veggies and wine were also good. The price was $120 USD with tip. If money is not a factor for you then come so you can enjoy.

Yelp
Place is iconic. Decor is fun and historic. Plates were amazing. Servers were quick friendly and had good suggestion. My meat was as expected delicious and tender full of flavor. See video on Instagram it got cut with spoon. Wine was malbec excellent too. Great desserts. And prices were in range with Buenos Aires good restaurants not overcharging. The value I perceived was top notch. Became one of my favorites.

Chris J.

Yelp
Definitely a very interesting place for lunch. Price was decent when paying by USD but I figured it's kind of pricey for the locals. Food was very tasty and service was great. Very nice restaurant that I would come again when in Buenos Aires.
google avatar

Yelp
It seems that everyone agrees that the food is very good the prices are high. The wine is rediculosly expensive. It is king of a tourist trap don't let the waiter order wine x you. They will take you to the cleaners. When I don't see locals eating it does not give me a good feeling. In any case, food is good wine is very expensive by Argentinian standards. Pleasant looking place.

Yelp
We had the best steaks here during our two week stay in Argentina. I've been to Buenos Aires three other times for business, had steaks had several well known restaurants and last night beat those too. Our waiter was also excellent and fun even though we barely speak Spanish. He made a great recommendation for an excellent bottle of

Yelp
Amazing provoleta, combine with Argentinian chorizo. And bife de chorizo as a mais course. Paired with Trupeter Reserva Malbec. The Best!
google avatar

Francisco L.

Yelp
Probably the best steak house in the area. I had to wait for 20min aprox , which is normal for this establishment .Previous reservation is highly recommended! The place feels like a pub for "futbol" fans. Every famous team shirt, souvenirs or random Argentine culture icon is stuffed in the walls or any shelf. They only serve Argentine wine, why the heck would want to try another if youre in Argentina? Dare to try a brand you havent tried before and keep in mind you will want more than a bottle after you finish the Splendid meat you get in this temple.

Yelp
Welcome to Argentina and the land of steak. This is the perfect place to give you a welcome to this country. It was our first steak dinner in Buenos Aires. The restaurant is located in the charming area of San Telmo. It is decorated with soccer memorabilia as the owners are big fans and lots of chandeliers. Now for the most important part...the meat. Oh my cow! It was cooked to perfection, so tender and the flavors were delicious. You don't even need to add any of the chimichurri sauce as the meat stands on its own with the flavors. We also ordered some fries with lots of fresh garlic and parsley. Perhaps the best French fries I have ever had! Order them! My husband ordered a 2014 Malbec and per his words "the best Malbec I had in Argentina" The service was top notch as the waiters know their thing about the meats and were helpful in recommending the wine as well. We need it wheelchair assistance to get back to our hotel as we were full. The meal was so filling we didn't even have room for dessert.

Yelp
A landmark restaurant in BA. Delicious beef that yes they cut with a spoon. Waiter recommended delicious Malbec - Cadus that was worth the extra spend. Would have liked some vegetables, but the mashed potatoes were good. My daughter and I split a Lomo which is tenderloin. Some of the best steak I've ever eaten. Hubby had the T-Bone which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Fun atmosphere and friendly service.

Yelp
We waited in line here for a ridiculously long line on a sunny Sunday afternoon. What should have been an off-hour was made irrelevant because of the adjacent street market which stretches for blocks right outside this place. Oh well, lesson learned. The steak was definitely worth the wait. Looking past the kitschy sports memorabilia theme and cutting of steak with a spoon (trust me that's one sharp spoon) there's good beef to be had here. By the time we ate, the whole place had cleared out (guess the market ended) so we had some time to really sit back and relax. All-in-all, good fine, and good wine. Next time we're in the area we'll try to choose a real off-hour (no more 40 minutes of waiting)...

Yelp
Went here for dinner last night after seeing reviews. Went at opening with no reservation and had no issues getting a table for 1, only 2 other couples there at opening. More people came in as I was eating so if you have a party greater than 2, you should probably book a reservation which seems only to be taken by phone. Ordered the Special Steak which I understand to be a larger cut of the Bife de Chorizo (which googling seems to be a sirloin) and does not come with any accompaniment. Also ordered mashed potatoes and a beef empanada. Server did the make two partial cuts by spoon thing which really seems like a gimmick as people who really know steak that A4 or A5 Wagyu are really like butter. The steak knives they give you (I tried two after complaining first was too dull) make it really hard to cut the meat. The steak was well prepared on a grill: a really good rare in the middle, charred on the outside. I personally would have liked some salt and pepper to dredge on the side as the meat wasn't particularly seasoned with much of anything and didn't come with any sauce. Personally I found this to be a decent mid tier restaurant steak, not as good as getting even an non-aged USDA Prime steak at home and doing a sous vide reverse sear at half the price. Mashed potatoes were good and the beef empanada was excellent with moist meat chunks (coarse if ground) inside. Large parties seem to order everything family style which may be more fun. This was my first steakhouse in Buenos Aires so I don't have a point of comparison but definitely not up to European standards of a fine steakhouse though half the price in USD. AKA not destination meal, but not bad if you just have to eat. A meal of just empanadas here would be pretty good and a lot cheaper. There was an extra charge for bread (I assume that was what the extra 40 ARS was on my bill) and they insisted on serving bottle water. I did have a bite of the homemade bread they brought out after the initial bread basket packaged bread stick selection which I also assume they charge for. I think the break is pretty awful like much break I have had in Argentina, salty and very dry. They expect a tip that cannot be charged to a credit card, so bring some cash.

Yelp
My friend and I had our first formal meal in argentina here. We asked the servants to recommend steak for us and listened to his advice. The salad was a little bitter but still I think it's necessary when having steak. The bread was also tasty, but the most impressive were the fries and steak. I haven't had French fries this good for a long time, and my friend and I just could not stop eating it after we became so full. The steak was incredible too, cuz we had it medium and it was very tender, and showed the natural flavor of beef. The service was pretty nice cuz there were only a few tables of customers. There are a ton of soccer-related decorations in the store and many famous soccer players have visited there. I strongly recommend dining at this place when visiting Buenos Aires.

Sid S.

Yelp
This should say it all , they make it a point to cut the steak with a spoon and it's amazing. Spectacular Y Estupendo

Yelp
Superb football obsessed steakhouse. Excellent service and sublime steaks and wine. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This whole dining experience was amazing. Granted it was my first steakhouse in Buenos Aires but I am more than happy with it. Every nook of the walls and even ceiling is covered in soccer memorabilia, although I didn't see tv's upstairs if you're trying to come here to watch any games. Started with the grilled provolone cheese, the proveleta, and it was a huge portion meant to share. Followed by the lomo steak, which my waiter really did cut with his spoon to show me the temperature with no problems. And it melted in my mouth. There's no marinade on the steak, no frills, just pure freshness that it doesn't need the sauces to give it flavor. Finished off with the dulce de leche pancake, which came out looking like a crepe. It's rated 3/4 for price, but if you're from the USA, this is by far an amazing deal and dining experience and a fraction of what you would pay for the same quality and night there. Highly highly recommend!

Yelp
We ordered the Bife de Chorizo (beef) and chorizo and morcilla (pork sausage), ensalada mixta, grilled provolone, and pesto pasta. The grilled provolone was really tasty. At first we were worried because it's such a thick piece of cheese, but it was great. We are glad that we tried it and you could taste the parsley on the cheese which mixed well with the char of the grill. The chorizo and morcilla were well seasoned and grilled. The seasoning was great on the morcilla to masked the blood taste. The bife de chorizo was a good choice to supplement the pork sausage. Cook medium rare where it was still tender. They do have chimichurri sauce, and you have to ask for it. Chimichurri sauce was better at Parrilla Peña, as it was more garlicky.

Yelp
This was one of those great places where the street outside was so quiet - yet inside was a perfectly crowded restaurant (a great sign!!) on a Saturday afternoon. Despite how busy it was - our party of 6 was seated almost immediately in the "sun room" on the main level. Service was a bit slow but the wine selection was great. We went with a few bottle of Cabernet Franc for the table which was delish. We started with a few picada (Meat and cheese) . OMG the steaks!! For a few of us this was our first taste of amazing Argentinian steak. The Colita de Lomo (Tenderloin) were killer! This is a must visit famous steakhouse if you're in the San Telmo neighbourhood. You wont be disapointed by the food!!

Yelp
Food is good, maybe even 5 star good! However service was horrible and they ripped us off under the cover of pretending not to understand English. To start off, this is the only steakhouse we have come across that doesn't sell wine by glass. When we ordered food we explicitly said one glass of Malbec and made sure that the waiter acknowledged the order. Then a few minutes later they came back with a small bottle of Syrah, and tried to open it right away. We reminded them that we ordered only a glass of Malbec. Then they told us that they don't have Malbec by glass. Either we take the small bottle of Syrah or a full bottle of Malbec. If you come here as only two people, this is the choice you will end up with. Then comes the food part. We ordered a sirloin steak and a special short rib cut. The server was all happy when we ordered them. When the food came, it was obviously too much food. The short rib was at least 2 pounds (600 ARS as well), and the sirloin was way more than 1 pound too. There is no way that this is for only two people, however the server said nothing when we ordered. The same happened to the table next to us too that they ended up with two big cuts untouched. And that table even asked the waiter to recommend portions when they ordered. Obviously they recommended based on how much money they make and not how much food their customers can eat. The only saving grace was that the food was good. Steaks were nicely cooked. Salad was simple but tasty. However the service was so rude that we wouldn't be back again.

Yelp
Excellent Steakhouse and great service. Owner very cool guy. Steaks are excellent, though I wish they had some type of sauce. Cooked absolutely perfect as well. Fries awesome! Decor is fantastic . Sports theme. Prices are great for an American. I had the biggest t-bone in my life for about $23 US. Two could easily dine on it. Wine selections of course good. Fun place!
google avatar

Nila C.

Yelp
Excellent place for an authentic Argentinian steak dinner. Our wine was the perfect match for our dinner. Our waiter was helpful, too. We are coming back next time but we will bring our own knives.
google avatar

Dan Z.

Yelp
If you're in Argentina for just one evening, I'd say that this place is it. Show up early and check the opening times -- La Brigada seems pretty consistent on opening right on time, as opposed to some other Argentinian establishments. There will be a long line at the door. If you're a football fan, there are plenty of memorabilia in the decor. Order steak and wine. Any cut is delicious. The table-side service and quality of food holds up to any modernist cuisine and has a satisfying old-world charm. I look forward to visiting again!
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
I would stay away from this place,it's a tourist trap, not only the waiter tried to push one of the most expensive wines to us(although we asked him if they had a certain wine that we knew and liked, and he pretended he didn't understand and turned out that they did have it)but the service was a 4 out of 10,the food a 7 out of 10,the desert a 8 out of 10,but the worst thing is that after we had already left the place half way to the hotel we realized they had overcharged us by %200.
google avatar

Wendy V.

Yelp
Loved this place!! Good thing we went early because by the time we left the place was packed and we didn't have a reservation! Amazing wine! Amazing steak! Good time had by all. Family of 5! Service was wonderful. Waiters were Fantastic!
google avatar

Bob I.

Yelp
Excellent service and food priced a little higher than some other local places. Being on the travel channel may have caused that but I can't get a steak like this in the states for the same money. The French fries are fantastic with the garlic Will be back
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Ripped off! Clearly not a Spanish speaker and plainly said this to our waiter. Although the steaks, grilled provolone, and mollejas were incredible, the waiter was asked by us to select a good bottle of wine that wouldn't break the bank. We confirmed nothing too expensive. Turns out, he brings us a bottle of the most expensive stuff which was unknown to us considering we not only had one but two bottles with dinner. Close to 150/bottle, which was way more than the 50-60 we were looking for. In addition, I left a 15% tip which is higher than customary in Argentina and he said that's not enough put more, which was insulting. I obviously said take it and go or take nothing at all. He was manipulative all night, which is a total pity considering this place had amazing food and is regarded as one of the best in Buenos Aires.

Yelp
Great, fancy spot with amazing food... most of the time. My first experience here was quite impressive. La Brigada is famous for their steaks so tender that they are cut with a spoon, and that's exactly what they did for me when a had an indulgent dinner here several months ago. Everything was perfect, including the salad, the wine, and the creme brûlée. It struck me as being a bit of a tourist trap, with the over-the-top decor and the disproportionate number of English-speaking customers, but it was worth it. A solid five stars. However, my second experience a few months later all but shattered that impression. As a disclaimer, I have a suspicion that I arrived as they were closing, as the other customers were clearing out (it was midnight). But the way that the waiters rushed me did not strike me as exactly friendly. And when the steak arrived, alas, it was some of the toughest steak I've eaten in this city. Still tasty and good, but not at all what I expected. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that the second time I threw things off kilter for them by arriving late. I still remember them for that first stellar dining experience, and I do intend to return.

Yelp
Visited: April, 2015. Consistently, one of my favourite steak restaurants to visit in Buenos Aires. The neighbourhood of San Telmo is charming (day and night), and I usually recommend walking to the restaurant to get a better feel of the establishment in general. Steaks are all done perfectly, as are the sides of thick crispy chips, and simple salads to end the meal well. Argentine wine list is one of the best in the city. Service is very professional, yet, still friendly enough. If you are looking for a restaurant to splurge, this would be high on my list of places to recommend. The atmosphere is sincere, and the owner is usually always there.

Yelp
This place is GREAT.. yes a bit overpriced, but when in San Telmo during market Sundays it is well worth it to get out of the crowds and enjoy fabulous food.. We had provoleta which is a must to try when in Argentina. We enjoyed Baby Bife and Entrana.. both cooked to perfection... and torilla espanol.. again super tasty!! The best part of the meal was the homemade rolls they bring out.. don't eat the bread on the table when you sit down.. wait for the warm goodness of the homemade rolls.. best I have tried so far in Argentina..

Yelp
I walked down the Estado Unidos street and there are a lot Parrilla place. I looked a few menus of the places along the street. I chose La Brigada because I heard about it from a friend. However, the Price is kind on the high end of the parrilla compared to other places around but cheaper than the area by puerto madero. My dish cost me 170 pesos, which is expensive which around area on the average was 135 pesos. Food: I started with vithel orno and my entree was the bife de chorizo. The appetizer was amazing done. The steak was cooked medium rare and seasoned well. It was over 250g. Too much food for me. 4/5 Service: I would have to say that this place had one of the better staff servicing in Buenos Aires that I have been to. they were very courteous and helpful. They chekc on you and making sure that you are satisfy. They were professional 4/5 Atmosphere: This place seems like it is a small cozy place. However, they have several compartmentalize dining rooms. It Is a decent size place. It is a simple Classic argentina restaurant with the steaks and milenasa. Great decoration with all signed jerseys and articles About the place. It reminds me of hybrid irish and spaniard pub feeling 4/5

Yelp
Good food, great service, above average food. Nothing extraordinary. Nice ambiance but too touristy. Still worth trying, we had lomo, ojo de bife, bife de cuadril... spoon show was nice but definitely need a steak knife to cut

Yelp
This place is definitely overrated. I had the filet here and it was not cooked properly. I asked for medium but they only cooked it on one side and the other side was completely raw. However, even if it was cooked properly, the meat was not good at all. The service is also poor.

Yelp
This place is overrated. It might have been good before it was featured on the travel channel. We ordered the lomo steak rare and it came out medium. We also ordered the "Special steak", which was the Bife de Chorizo (Chorizo steak). That's a lower quality cut and not something you order at a good steakhouse. They cut the meat with a spoon as a "showy" gesture, but the taste is far from being tender. I guess this place is good if you've only had steak from chain restaurants in the States. The only thing I liked was the lamb tongue. If you want good steak in BA go to Don Jullio. Maybe I'm spoiled with the amazing steak I had in Bariloche a week prior. Save your money.

Yelp
First of all, waiter does not speak English, not even a little. Therefore, the whole experience was frustrating at best. We order three variety of steaks, Chorizo, Top of the Eye, and Short Rib. The same waiter promised all cuts would be tender and cooked to right temperature. It turns out that only Top of the Eye is good. Chorizo was overcooked, not medium rare, but more like well done. Short ribs were tough as shoe leather. Not at all a good steak house. Service was subpar, and so is the food. I recommend against this place.

Yelp
Great food and se service (really difficult to find in Buenos Aires) its a must. They'll cut your meat with a spoon. Prices might be a little bit high but it's worth it.

Yelp
We got to the door a bit before opening time at 8 and there was already a group of people waiting. We chose a prime rib eye and flank steak and both were cooked to perfection. Service was quite good, not great, overall. But, you can appreciate some of the staff probably having been there for decades. Definitely a place to walk back to when in the area.

Yelp
If you don't have a lot of time to sit here and read this review there's nothing good I have to say about this restaurant.. for your own sake try somewhere else.. there are so many great restaurants in the area.. we return to them all the time: Amici Miel, Amalia, Gran Parilla, Havi's, Tanta, Marcello's, Chiqilin..... To start the service was very slow.. our server (Alberto) did not start out with a friendly or welcoming demeanor, but we were hungry and ordered some beer and several bottles of water..a couple of people in our party wanted red wine.. they asked him for a recommendation and he said that this particular Malbec was the best.. at 1800 pesos a bottle the 2 gentleman in our party said Okay sounds good we'll try it.. the only person in our party who spoke Spanish, wanted to verify with him that it said 1,800 pesos and she asked him Point Blank.. he then pointed in the air to the menu so she asked him again and he pointed again toward the menu.. it turned out to be 18000 pesos which we did not find out until they tried to order another bottle, and when he seemed a bit confused as to if that was really what they wanted they looked more closely at the price which was handwritten and very squeezed in together to fit the page.. all the other prices we're typed in , so at first glance it did look like 1800 and even looking at it closely no one was sure because of the handwriting.. when she finally asked him again to verify the price he answered her. She said, I asked you that when we first ordered it, why didn't you tell me no when I asked you if it said it was 1800 pesos? He said we're not allowed to say prices at the table..seriously!?! So after ordering the $300 bottle of wine and our drinks in the beginning of our experience, our translator ( who did not eat meat) asked if they served any fish.. he said they don't have any fish but they have a pasta dish (a cheese Ravioli) that doesn't have meat, so she ordered it.. after the bread came he gave us a small dish of olive oil and she asked him for some butter, he snapped back there's olive oil on the table there's no butter.. which was truly his demeanor the entire time we were there) the other four of us ordered steaks and about five family style side orders.. he took all our silverware away and brought us forks with special steak knives to cut the meat.. our friend who ordered the $300 bottle of wine asked to have his meat medium well, and the waiter snapped it's not possible they don't cook it that way.. being the agreeable person he was ( and he was a very good sport about the whole dining experience) said that's okay I'll just heat up whatever I can't eat tomorrow, and ordered it anyway. When the food came even with the special steak knives I could hardly cut through my meat it was like trying to saw through it.. it was tough and flavorless.. I had to keep adding salt. And even though I like garlic the french fries had a ton of garlic but absolutely no salt, nor did any of the other side dishes.. the best thing on the table was the greens with tomato and balsamic and olive oil dressing.. I had a bite of the girl's ravioli who was sitting next to me and it was terrible and flavorless.. when she told the waiter about the ravioli he said "well, this is a steak place" sometime after getting our meal and the attempt at ordering a second bottle of wine, lol he disappeared.. took us a very long time to get the check.. we were actually on the opposite side of the restaurant from the restrooms and I thought I would let him know we we're ready for our check when I got up to go to the restroom but he was nowhere in the restaurant.. there were approximately eight other servers there and it's not a very big place. There's no hospitality, we sat next to a water feature that was dried up. I work for a company that sends many employees to Buenos Aires and we stay at a major Hotel walking distance from this restaurant every week and everyone eats out.. it will be posted on Facebook and in all meeting and breakrooms to avoid this place.. I'm not sure why anyone goes there to tell you the truth, maybe because there are a lot of soccer memorabilia, not even sure if it's memorabilia and the establishment probably feels that because of that they don't have to have good food or service.(?) Besides the wine, their prices are very high and there is some service charges in there so be careful when ordering, like the bread and then take it away before you finish eating it. And there's no butter..
