Parrish Pioneer Ranch

This is a really nice country store, specializing in APPLES, located at the top of Oak Glen. I believe it’s the last APPLE Orchard on the block. A lot of people have made coming here a yearly tradition during APPLE SEASON. Quite a few of them, grown adults with their own children now, remember going there every year when they were kids. Some of the girls that work there have been working there for several years so they are very knowledgeable and are always there to answer any questions. Nancy, the manager, has been there for 20 years. She knows everything about everything, the store, everything they sell there, the Ranch itself and the orchards. And super duper nice, the whole staff, always keeping busy, making themselves available to answer questions or to give advice on things like the flavored wines or handmade chocolates, passing out apple juice samples (so deelish!). What do they have to offer? Glad you asked!😀 Apple Juice, Apple Cider 🍎, Candied Apples, fresh Apple Butter, fresh pickled APPLES 🍎 , fresh APPLE Pie, freshly made APPLE Cobbler, Handmade Aprons (for grown ups and for children), Handmade Chocolates, Sugar Free Chocolates, Chocolate Covered Oreos, Popcorn, Kettle Corn, Caramel Corn, all kinds of Household items, Hand Knitted Purses, Handmade Throw Pillows, freshly made Peach 🍑 Pie, Cherry 🍒 Pie, Greeting Cards, Cookbooks, an assortment of Children’s Games, Snow Cones, and they have a nice Snack Bar with Hotdogs, Chili, Bagel Pizzas, Fountain Soda 🥤, fresh Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread, Fresh Homemade Muffins, and…I could keep going but I’ll stop here. You’ll just have to plan a day trip up the mountain and check things out yourself. Just don’t put it off for too long. APPLE 🍎 🍏 season only lasts until the end of November (although there’s a lot of things going on all year round). You won’t be sorry you came. I can promise you that!

EDIT DUE TO RESPONSE: I absolutely won't be going back. Why would I want to drive 80 miles for basically expired product? Not the greatest response from the company. Overall I liked the store but I'm quite disappointed with something I purchased yesterday. I bought the jalapeno aoli for $15 and it expires next week. This is something that should last a lot longer than a week. I was going to put it in a gift basket for someone. I live 80 miles away so I can't just go back and exchange it. I recommend you look at the dates on items.

Bookmark this location after seeing a sign for the New Zealand meat pies on Google maps. Haven't been able to locate meat pies this side of the Pacific like we've had in Australia and New Zealand, so I was especially excited when I had a chance to be in the area and stop by and pick some up. I called ahead to make sure that they had some available. A quick 20-minute drive up the hill and we were there to grab a few. They are a little pricey, but the result was a very good 👍. I was quite impressed with the selection of apples and the variety of apples available. Certainly an excellent location to stop by and support. Service was top notch.

A great place to spend with the family.. we drove an hour and a half to get there and it was worth it. Had a apple sausage hotdog delicious and a fabulous Apple slaw. I want to make it at home. If you go close to Christmas can get presents and the green scenery turns into fall colors. I will do the trip again.. guarantee...

We really love going up to Oak Glen all the little shops and even restaurants are really fun to visit. These places up there need us lowlanders to go up and visit, their livelihood depends on it, The jams and jellies made from the locals are fantastic, when we went in my wife and I guess I should say there was nobody else in there and the lady who helped us was very very nice and so sweet and showed us everything we were looking for… So go up and help these folks out

Definitely go here for pie. Nicest employees, great price ($4 for pie, $5.50 a la mode). We were going to go to oak mountain but left when we realized they now charge for admission. Glad we found this new place for pie!!

Was lucky enough to provide sound for a wedding here. Didn't get a chance to check out the shops but as far as the venue goes it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Truly breathtaking. I highly reccomend anybody looking for a venue to give them a call.

Very Authentic Place, I was driving by and decided to stop, I liked it, it was a real contrast for me as a Florida resident. Highly recommended.

Me and a few friends have made it an almost yearly tradition to come to Parrish Pioneer on our first stop in our apple picking adventure. We enjoy the Knick-knacks, chocolates, snacks, meat pies and especially the wine tasting!! I have to give a special shoutout to Nancy for always taking care of us when we come. It's usually 5 or 6 of us and she is always so friendly and gives us good recommendations on wines to try. I believe it's $2 a tasting which is reasonable, and we usually do 5-6 tastings to get a good buzz!! My favorite is the Triple Berry Oregon!! It's the perfect amount of not too sweet but not too dry. We are already making plans to come back soon!

A nice store in Oak Glen. There is wide isles and lots to see and taste. There is a good sized fudge and dessert counter as well as an area for just about anything apple to try. We had the triple P apple layered dessert with ice cream, caramel and apple crisp, along with a slice of apple crisp that was warmed with a splash of whipped cream. Friendly service. Some items seem to be there awhile as there were cobwebs and a few spiders - be careful as you grab for those items.

Parrish Ranch has to be the most underrated part of the mountain. The owners are some of the friendliest people I've ever met, the store has so many hidden goodies, and the snack bar is filled with fresh, made in house food. After Law's Oak Glen coffee shop we headed to Parrish Pioneer Ranch for apples and their section of wines that's our friends say. When we arrive the building looks like a farm it look nice but we step in it was so cool inside to getting away from the heat outside.

They sell individual apple for a buck each. I bought a cup of apple cider to try but can only drink outside due to covid. Their restroom is located outside & very clean.

This is a cute spot to stop by when visiting Oak Glen. They have a good selection of wines. My favorite is the Black Jack wine and I always grab a bottle when coming here. The store doesn't have that much merchandise but I have always found it to be a fun stop to check out.

Don't miss the pirate show every Sunday at 12pm and again at 2pm. The show is free but make sure to drop some cash in their tip bucket on the way out as they deserve it. We need to support them as best as possible as they are providing great entertainment for us all. I took my grandson there several years ago just before it burned down and again recently as it is now reopened and renewed. This time on Sep 23, I took my grandson again who is now 9years old as well as my granddaughter who is 3years old. We had a blast once again and one of the pirate women even gave my granddaughter a cool pirate sword after the show which was super, super nice. The pirates are all so fun and so great with the kids. After the show we enjoyed some caramel apples which are awesome as they put sliced apples in a bowl and fill it with warm caramel. Yum!!!! We will be back for sure.

I grew up in Yucaipa CA near oak glen and alway enjoyed going to Oak Glen for the fresh apple cider. So when I went there this last week I went by Parrish Pioneer Ranch and purchased a gallon of apple cider and it was the worst apple cider I've ever tried. It had a very odd taste almost like the apples used to make it were no where near ripe. it was very disappointing! I don't think I would go there again.

We had a good time there until we got home....... we bought a bag of apples and found they put the bad ones hidden at bottom of the bag! See attached photos!

Went there on Sunday with my family and the woman at the register was so rude to my father who was only asking if they had tea available. She literally yelled at him that she was tired and that they were closing in like 10 minutes. A simple "no we don't have tea" would have sufficed. I've been going there for years with my family but after this experience I don't feel like taking them there anymore.

Just a fun place to visit, quiet, relaxing, fun to explore, and great Apple products this place rocks. They even have a wonderful selection of fun flavored wines.

We liked this place -simple but cute and the apple pie was DELICIOUS there (with some of the best vanilla ice cream ever!) I totally recommend dropping by -good food with super nice service and don't forget to check out their pretty peacock too

Parrish House Antiques is part of the Parrish ranch located in beautiful Oak Glen! I just found out they are open Year round. What a delightful spot to find wonderful antiques and collectibles. Lots of Disney items, salt and pepper shakers, milk glass, depression glass and wonderful rocking chairs.

Love this place and it's always our 1st stop. The store has yummy chocolates that i feel are homemade. Friendly service. The antique store up the hill by pirate show is the gem tho. The owner is so friendly and prices are great.. I love looking around in there and we actually came away with some great treasures this weekend. HIS kindness is what brings me back.

Quiet and serene while Riley's Farm up the street is overcrowded. Good fresh apple pumpkin butter and fresh apple cider are good. You can taste test birdie buying.

We came on a Monday afternoon to avoid the crowd, but it felt like a ghost town. No one greeted us when we walked in and we were the only people there the whole time. No one offered any samples or told us anything about the area. Go to Mom's instead.

Husband and I took our 5 kids ages 6 to 13. We had a great time! We got to check out all their ranch animals...like a bull, goats, alpaca, turkeys and peacocks. We watched a very entertaining pirate show (that was free) and we went inside the store got the kids root beer floats while we did some wine tasting and took home a nice bottle of apple wine (made with real apples!) The people who work there are super friendly. Will definitely be back!

Last stop or first stop on Oak Glen Rd., depending on from which direction you're coming. The most memorable thing for me growing up was the fact that they had peacocks here. This most recent time we enjoyed seeing the peacocks, as well as the emu. As for the shop itself, I think the apple selection is mediocre, but there is a huge grocery area. Also, the thing that distinguishes this place is the "wine tasting." It is all fruit wine and mead, and the tastes are $0.50 each. I suggest avoiding it unless you are into really REALLY sweet stuff. I have had homemade and handcrafted mead and this commercial stuff is awful in comparison. But feel free to try it for the novelty of it, especially if you have a sweet tooth. They have hard cider here available to purchase, but I find it disappointing that none of the places up here sell their own homemade hard cider; here they just sell Ace and Woodchuck. Parris Ranch consists not only of the apple orchard but also several shops and the Apple Dumplin's restaurant. **Review applies only to apple season

Our first stop to apple country in Oak Glenn, Parrish definitely started our trip well! Stocked full of apple and candy goodness (caramel apples, apple ciders, chocolates, jams, apple butter, etc), this place was great and the lady running the shop was sweet and accommodating, urging us to sample as many things as we cared for. Unique to orchards in the the area, Parrish also has a wine tasting area where you can taste a small collection of honey meads, fruit wines, and hard ciders for a mere dollar a tasting. Awesome. One part of their outdoor area houses several pet peacocks, roosters and emus while another area is home to a small "pirate" village which we didn't get to check out unfortunately, Argggggh.

REDEEMED! For the last few years we have had a terrible experience with the management and overall attitude of the employees at this place. BUT!!! We gave it another try this year and there is a noticeable difference. The staff were friendly and wonderful and cheery. The Parrish Ranch I knew from my childhood is back and with gusto! Go to this place and enjoy it! It is a wonderful treasure of Oak Glen.

I went there for the first time sine I have moved in Yucaipa since a year and half ago, and I was wondering how the site was, it was so beautiful and calm, it's really a another world and not far away, the place is kind of quiet now because of the covid19 I guess. I ordered a filed meat cheese pot and it was delicious, I have to return up there to buy more items like I cannot wait to buy their regional product like honey and vine. The service was great, I don't think people should expect the red carpet, I have red reviews and I was surprise sometime how people just go to a quick view on a review. I have not experimented anything wrong, the lady Nancy was so nice with me, and I enjoyed to walk my Apollo near the place where there is a park to enjoy the doggy walk and eating under shed without to suffer of the heat. Parrish ranch is to me, a wonderful place to hang out, but hope a day they will have decaf option I only drink decaf oopps

My experience there was just terrible. I loved their products, but it was the service that was sour. I had a nasty fall just outside their door due to ice. My sister ran inside for help and she was given napkins Bec I was bleeding from my nose. After regaining my composure I decided to go inside and buy a few things. I had informed the cashier that they should salt their front Bec I just slipped. She chuckled and continued on with her work. I said it 2 more times yet I never got a response out of her. By the time I reached her counter to pay for my items I began to bleed again. So much that I dropped blood onto her counter! I thought for sure she's going to at least inquire about my bleeding nose. Not a word. She barely made eye contact and gave me some tips on how to cook their meat pies!!! What a strange and awkward response. I stumbled out of there and eventually went to urgent care.

I'm convinced they have the best apple butter in the world. It's so so so good, you guys. And it's not even bad for you! But seriously, they have all kinds of great things for sale here, even aside from the food. Syrups, jellies, jams, spreads, cake mixes...I just love it all. On my most recent visit I bought chocolate banana jam. It's all a bit pricey, but they're things you can't find anywhere else. You can order food at the counter (fresh apple pie a la mode, anyone?), or buy stuff to take home. They also have all kinds of sweets and yummy chocolate-covered things in a glass case. The employees I encountered were all very smiley and helpful, too. And they have fresh cut apples you can sample and buy by the pound. And mmm the cold apple cider! It's definitely my favorite spot in Oak Glen and like I said, best apple butter ever.

This place is just a solid ok. They lack in the quality products and hospitality departments. They benefit from having goats. Goats are cute, I think we can all agree on that. They also have peacocks and peahens and a couple of cute asses.

WOW right when we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest woman!!!! She had such a sweet personality and her energy was amazing!!!! They whole team there was great - attentive and ready to help! THE BEST CIDER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!! They were sampling their cider cold and as soon as it hit my lips I wanted MORE! It is honestly the best I have had. I continued to try the cider at the other places but none came close to theirs. Wish I would have bought like three gallons or more- SO GOOD cant get enough of it. They also have samples of their apples and of some of their spreads. I tried the Maple Pumpkin spread and almost died- IT IS AMAZING! I bought three jars and now am thinking I should have bought more for myself and for gifts because everyone should be able to experience the magic that is in this jar! Their apple pumpkin butter is also stellar! I got some Fig jams to try but they didnt have a sample of those so I cant give you a review on those yet. We also had their "Apple Burrito" which melts in your mouth and makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. THIS IS A MUST FOR SURE!!!!!!! I wish they were closer or shipped their Cider and spreads because they are soooo good! They are open year round so maybe ill just have to make a couple trips a year to stock up-- yes it is that good and worth the trip! Also located at the ranch is an antique store - Blue Bear Antiques- we just wondered over and I am very happy that we did. Again the owners were the sweetest and so personable. They sat and talked to us about their family and experiences and were just the kindest people. I ended up getting an awesome necklace there and a fall sign with some small pumpkins. You should definitely stop in there as well. I just tried to add another business for the antique store after trying to make one for the "Mechanical Magician" which is located behind the Blue Bear store - not sure if it will get approved so here is my review for this : We stopped in as we were exploring the "Scent Loop" and orchard area. I must say this is one of the most interesting little shops with the most interesting owner. We were greeted immediately and learned so much! The owner Walter Zalewski took time to show us his creations and explain them to us. He told us about each creation and the meaning- the Plague doctor and they flying carpet. He also talked to us about all the little antiques he had telling us what they were, where they were from and the stories behind them. He had the most beautiful butterflies from Brazil and other preserved animals. He also his own tea/ tea company called "White Which Tea Co" which he explained has essential oils added to it- i got some pumpkin spice black tea- I cant wait to try. I honestly could have and would have loved to stay and chat with Walter all day- he is a fascinating man and extremely personable! I highly recommend that you stop in if you get the chance! Also in this area they have some beautiful animals and sequoia trees- the oldest and biggest in the area. Overall this little spot is a one stop shop and is a MUST

I used to love this place and when I returned several years later it looked like it was shutting down. The shelves were not stocked and the staff was extremely unfriendly. No one greeted me when I walked in and the staff looked annoyed to have customers. There was a short Hispanic lady who was rude and looked like she just ate sour lemons. She did not smile and had attitude. I will not be returning anytime soon. I hope this business finds redemption and new staff because it has potential.

Check the dates on all products before you purchase anything here. I called them to tell them that a product that I bought yesterday had a 2012 date and they insisted it was not an expiration date and that was all they would say on the matter. No help what so ever. After speaking to them I contacted the manufacturer who asured me it is an expiration date and the vendor should not have it on their shelves. Called Parrish Ranch back but they still had no interest in assisting me.

We stopped by today for a quick walk. The store had several option for goodies though a bit pricey. They had big parking lot, easy to get in and out. The lady's restrooms had no lock at the door whatsoever, use it at your own risk! A small petting zoo area was not so great. Oh well, I won't be going back.

Women behind the counters really do not care about customer service. We waited 15 minutes in line for one caramel apple. Their large coffee is a small size and small size is a sample size. Apple burritos looked not fresh. Should have went up further to Los Rios Ranch, way more nostalgic, better scenery, apple desserts, and customer service.

I've been coming here since I was a child, and now I come here with my children. In August (the 10 to be exact) we bought a gallon of apple cider and when we got home we noticed it tasted off. My husband called the shop and told them and the old woman he spoke to said that it was the last Apple cider of the season and that they used a different apple and to come up and get one whenever to replace it. So we planned on taking our kids up to get some apple cider today and my husband called the shop just before we were about to leave. He spoke to the same old woman and now apparently she can't do it because we didn't keep our receipt, never did she mention that we had to keep our receipt. she called my husband a liar and stated they don't sell bad cider when the stuff we got was extremely boozy tasting and not drinkable. She refused to honor what she said even though she did say she remembered speaking to him. I will never come back here again since she refused to honor what she said and for calling my husband a liar.

I had a cheeseburger and it was fantastic!..friendly staff!!..a customer spilled his ranch dressing on the floor and this very nice employee was right there to clean it up..wish I knew her name to give her credit.

The first place you will hit when you drive in off Oak Glenn and it's the worst. The store had the least variety of apple type so we walked back to the wine tasting section. We noted that most of the merchandise wasn't native to the area. We entered the wine tasting section and the wife asked the 50 million dollar question - "Which wines are local?" The lady smiled....GOTCHA. She explained that ALL the wines were from Oregon and cost between $1 to $3 for a taste. She showed us a sample in a plastic cup the size of a thimble (!!!) I kid you not! Excuse me but you must be making $50 a bottle handing out thimble size samples of wine that I can buy anywhere. I still don't know how she could pour any wine in that thimble without spilling. You know it's a good idea to run from any tasting bar that offers samples in plastic. We tried. We bought an apple and sat outside sharing bites as we listened to old "Yodeling Merle" who played simple chords to his music machine while he sat under an easy up outside the store. His cheezy music box version of Hank Williams, Your Cheatin' Heart was cute but.....Hey Merle!!! You NEVER yodeled ONCE! Now, if you aren't gonna yodel to a Hank Williams tune, just exactly what ARE you going to yodel to? We jumped in the car and sped around the corner to Mom's - the best orchard on the loop. You should do the same

Not really a fruits and veggies place - but maybe it's the off season. Only one kind of apple was available. They have a Pirate show that was fun, and an art gallery and an old funny car. It's kid-friendly, and the cider was sweet but delicious. People were nice, maybe it's a new bunch now that it's a Pirate theme instead of Western.

My family has been coming here for years. The apples are delicious, the shopping topnotch, and the staff is always friendly. During apple season you can experience the Wild West gun show, Yodeling Merle, a full-service restaurant, and a cute little zoo. If you have a chance to stop by this historical ranch, don't leave without a fresh dipped caramel apple and an apple burrito. They are to die for!!

My husband and I have been to a couple of the other apple orchards in Oak Glen, but decided to get off the freeway at Oak Glen this time and happened upon Parrish Pioneer Ranch. It has a general store which was very well stocked with apples, many different kinds as well as peaches and pears. We did the wine tasting which I later found out all the wines are from Oregon and not local. That was disappointing. They do have animals there and would be a nice day for the kids. So after tasting their sugary selection of wines and paying way too much for candy, we decided to have lunch at the Apple Dumpling Restaurant. Looks very quaint from the outside and in the main dining area which is small they had wooden benches and nice tables. So, we decided to stay for lunch. Bad idea. We waited an hour to get a table. This was Saturday so that was understandable. They walked us through the main dining area and sat us in what used to be an open air patio that they had hurridly enclosed probably over a weekend. It was hot in there. There were six tables in this area that they packed too many people in. Our table was wobbly. We had to rest our arms on the table to get it to stop rocking. Then there are the mismatched chairs. They were FOLDING chairs for heaven sake. Some folks got lucky and got an actual chair. I have better furniture on my own patio. So, now on to the food. I had a half turkey sandwich and a salad. The sandwich was good and so was the salad, no complaints there. But, the apple crisp was awful. It was so tart I could hardly get it down. Now I thought as everyone had told me that this place had excellent apple desserts. This was atrocious. Also, the poor little busboy was working his tail off only to have the manager come in and yell at him in front of the customers. That was awful to experience. He actually told this kid in a loud voice, "you need to hurry the hell up!" Needless to say, I won't be going there again. I totally agree with a couple other posters who stated the staff were rude. Very unfortunate. There are other farms along Oak Glen Road that were far better than Parrish Ranch. They should call is Perished Ranch!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. They have a little animal farm and cute crafty shops...I'm not sure when the other reviewer went to this ranch but I think they have a good variety of apples (when it's apple season), and they do have there own homemade hard cider , I should know I have hot cider there every winter at the lighting of the Glen! Hmm I wish I could have some now! I live in Vegas so I don't get to go often but we get out there like twice a year.They also make caramel covered apples that are delicious. I'm not a huge winey so can't speak much on the wine but it's just a sweet quaint place to have lunch and do some shopping. Also every Christmas Santa Claus comes and you can take free pictures with him with your own camera or they'll take a Polaroid for like $5 bucks. There Carolers during Christmas time and other musicians during other peak time like thanksgiving. I guess you have to like the outdoors and just the atmosphere of an old style village to really enjoy yourself.
