"A beloved dive bar with a killer cheesesteak? Yum and yum. A block from the ocean off Sunrise Boulevard, this is a Philadelphia bar with a friendly staff that will put on non-Philly games. Beyond TVs donning its walls inside, there are select TVs out front, where peeps cozy up, and you can hear the euphoria a block away." - Jesse Scott

"Pub-style bites, craft beer, and many TVs with sports reign at this spot on Sunrise Lane. There’s shuffleboard and darts, too. Make sure to try the Philly cheesesteak at this Philadelphia bar, where you can customize it with jalapenos, banana peppers, and more, based on your preferences." - Jesse Scott

It’s mainly a sports bar over a dozen tvs, indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating. Not really a kid friendly spot, but you can bring your kids as we did. Ordered cheesesteak with double meat, it was amazing definitely recommend it with double meat. Kids ordered tenders and fries. Wife ordered a skirt steak sandwich good flavor ordered medium rare and it was still tougher than we’d like. Kids menu is tenders or grilled cheese per our server. We went Saturday evening around 530p it was a lively atmosphere. It’s a Philly bar from what I gather. Enjoyed the overall experience and food. Wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here but if you’re in the area it’s a nice spot to check out especially if you’re mainly wanting to watch a game as it is mainly a sports bar. There’s also a coin operated dart game and golf game. No changing table in bathrooms very small and old 70s style.

Stopped in to watch the college football games and grab a bite. We were instantly surprised that the atmosphere was very upbeat and gave us a dive bar appeal. Buckets of beer were only $20 which was very nice compared to what we had been paying elsewhere. Decided to just do beer and wings for a simple snack and the wings were very good! We had hot and medium neither one had much heat at all but that's pretty normal. Would definitely go up a heat level without concern. Brian our bartender took great care of us and even went out of his way to help pick out a shirt. This place was our favorite bar of the week. A block off the ocean but not in the tourist trap area. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself.

Google
Hey, this place is really welcoming. I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area. It's been around since 1970 and it's like a sports bar with booths and bar seating. They also have an outside space. The food was okay, cheap and cheerful stuff, nothing special. But they had a good variety of beers, and we tried the cider, which was nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful, one of them even came running after me when I left my sunglasses at the table. I think it would be a good place to go if you were on your own or even if you're two girls alone. The crowd is mainly middle-aged, but it felt safe, and it's open until 1 am.

Google
Solid no-frills dive-ish sports-ish bar that's probably older than your dad. Or maybe your grandfather. The deep fryer works, the cheese sticks are tasty, and the beer is cold. There's probably no better spot around to catch a Panthers game on the TV.

Google
Great local spot recommended by the local servers. We watched football and got to see our team win in a fun, energetic environment. Drinks were good and service was timely and friendly. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a low-key but energetic spot.

Google
Ordered a Philly steak sandwich and fish tacos. Sandwich was good, came with amazing chips. Tacos were amazing, was the first thing I had when I landed in Florida and will be one of the most memorable things I ate here. Staff are excellent. Very kind and accommodating. Atmosphere was active and lively at 2:00pm during the football game. Was definitely a new scene for a Canadian as myself. Quite the experience:)

Google
My hometown is Philly so I visited this place while on vacation and I absolutely loved it here. I came here by myself when I was feeling upset and I immediately felt better when I walked in the door. The staff is amazing and took great care of me. They have great food, good drinks, and it is a very laid back place. I hope they open a location in Philly!

Google
This is the #1 Eagles Bar in Florida, Hands Down! I'd argue it's a Top 5 Sports Bar in Florida aswell, Between the Michelin star Hospitality, the Tasty Cocktails and Delicious Food, it's hard to count it out as a Must See place! Located in South Florida off of Sunrise Blvd, Just a 2 minute walk from the beach! In this Google Review Contributors Opinion the thing that really elevates this Local Hot spit, is the little Slice of Brotherly Love the people bring to Fort Lauderdale. The typical Crowd can be found Cheering on The Best Team in The NFL(Philadelphia Eagles) and just like the fans on Philly, the patrons here are just as loyal to this not so hidden, "hidden gem". I'd like to give a quick shout out to the wonderful staff I've had a chance to meet whole visiting Florida! Thank you Rachel, Jess, Greg, Cristie, and OF Course the Amazing fans for the 1 of a kind experience!

Yelp
No better spot to watch an Eagles game. The mozzarella sticks are great here. Surprisingly good food for a bar

Patty R.

Yelp
Not impressed. Very weird rules at this place....I can watch the game at home and eat and drink where I want. Ridiculous.....id rather a first come first served rule but I can spend money elsewhere to be honest

Yelp
The Parrot Lounge is an iconic landmark in Fort Lauderdlae, and just like the Primanti Brothers, I can't see how it is ever going anywhere. Simple concept, great service l, good drinks and good food. Seems like a simple formula, but not many establishments in Fort Lauderdale can meet this standard. My bartender for the day was Greg and he kept me hydrated. Still, all the bartenders here were helpful. They have a decent craft beet selection. Especially drafts which are my absolute favorite. Ordered an order of hot Buffalo wings as well. It came with celery, carrots and blue cheese. I asked for them crispy and they did a pretty good job. I think they brine the wings because they had internal salt and some black pepper. They were also just slightly smoky, for Buffalo wings. I liked them, and that says a lot because I am a certified wing snob. Only drawback was they soak their celery in water which made the texture and taste absolutely awful. One bad celery does not ruin the whole experience which was great. I recommend a visit to the Parrot Lounge if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Yelp
Just my kind of semi dive bar / restaurant ! Food , service was excellent. Shared a blackened fish sandwich- huge cheeseburger, homemade pasta salad and some really good freshly cooked chips. Everywhere you look OLD photos and memorabilia adorn the walls. Fun place !

Kathy W.

Yelp
The good: food was good. Had wings and the parrot burger with house made chips. Had several mojitos, all delicious. Typical sports bar atmosphere for the most part. Now the bad: we were warned not to go during an Eagles games if we weren't Eagles fans. Eagles were playing at 1;00 and my team was playing at 4:05 so I thought we would be ok. Unfortunately even though the eagles game was over when we got there. We couldn't even get a server to look at us because they were too busy cashing people out and cleaning up from the insanity that was the bar during the Philly game. When I tried to get them to switch one of the TVs to my game, I was brushed off. Eventually, things calmed down and the TV got switched and from that point on it was a much better experience. Just keep in mind who's playing and when in deciding when to visit.

Yelp
The Parrot came up on my Yelp Friends Activity Feed and I had a flashback! I'm glad it's still open after all these years. There's some drinking holes that never lose their appeal. If you grew up and went to college in this city it was the place to go. If you want a ice cold beer from a tap, just saddle up to the bar and take your choice. That is if you can get a seat during peak seasons. The beer selection is the best I've ever seen. I haven't tried the food that I can remember. To tell the truth at times I don't remember the drive home! The Parrot is historic so I recommend you partake in the complete experience!

Amy B.

Yelp
We were down for a cruise with our friends from Philly and there was a game so this was the clear choice. It was a lot of fun being around lots of fans of the same team. The server was nice but they were overwhelmed with a big crowd. Food is typical bar food but was good. It's definitely a place for any Philly fans in town

Jessica E.

Yelp
The BEST local bar in FLL. Philly bar. Bartenders are amazing and make it. Tons of updated local beers. Phenomenal food- cheesesteaks . Open late. You'll find all the local ITB.

Monica G.

Yelp
I have visited Parrot Lounge around 5:00 or 6 times and each time has been nothing but good things. Parrot Lounge is a sports bar, very casual one block away from Fort Lauderdale beach. We just went last Saturday and walked in to a lifeguard party, Lively music, and good vibes. Even though it is a sports bar the food is always on point. We absolutely love the fish tacos they have so much flavor. Last time we got lemon pepper wings, this is the second time I come back for those the flavor of the lemon pepper is so good if you love that please get it. We have shots this time but they also have a good selection of beers at the bar. My friend loves the crab cakes and I have to agree. This place is a Fort Lauderdale staple and I must visit for a casual setting dinner or just drinks.

Rodney M.

Yelp
Staff were friendly and the food was really good. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was really good. My wife had the mahi mahi tacos and she said they were great. I will definitely come back before we head back home.

Kara B.

Yelp
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. It's very much a pub vibe. Our server was fast and friendly. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries. My fiancé order the buffalo chicken sandwich and house made chips. The total was $37 for the two of us. And the portions were HUGE! Highly recommend!

Med Spa M.

Yelp
Nice local bar just a fuck off the beach. Drink prices are very reasonable and the food is very tasty. I had the burger and fries, which was very good. They have plenty of outdoor seating and look like they had live music on occasion. I'll definitely be back to this place and encourage others to give it a try as well.

Pete V.

Yelp
Great place. Good bartenders great wings and cheesesteaks. Good place to listen to music and party!

Timothy L.

Yelp
Nice spot to drop in. Grab a beer or drink and catch the game out of the sun! Big fan of the fish and chips. Most places over batter, but theirs was right on point. Ben, from his vibez, I believe he's was either the owner or manager, but I'm going with the owner by the way he carried himself. Very professional gentleman called all his guests at the bar by name, which gives off a comfortable feel amongst patrons so everyone around the bar knew each other's name. Definitely a must stop and experience. I'm from California and I felt right at home.

David A.

Yelp
Philly hangout and the Philly Cheesesteak never disappoints! This visit though, I chose lighter fare and had the Ahi Tuna with Cusabi Ranch dressing. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Andrea R.

Yelp
Great service. Wonderful indoor seating and ac. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Lots of beer on tap. Drink specials. Quick walk from Beach or bonnet house.

Anna M.

Yelp
Great beach bar. This was the primary Penn State bar, and you will still find PSU fans on game days. They are dog friendly with a great drink menu and friendly service. My party enjoyed the Mahi Mahi fingers (the pups also really enjoyed these) and the cheese quesadillas were also good. The parrot lane drink is a nice fruity drink perfect for the weekend.

Lauren R.

Yelp
The Parrot Lounge is a cannot miss experience for Philadelphia Eagles fans in the area during game time. It is the epitome of an Eagles bar! The bar will be 2 deep and there won't be a chair to spare in the outdoor seating by kickoff so if you plan to come, be there at least an hour before. They have a rotating list of beers on tap, always including new local beers. I highly recommend checking those out. The smoked fish dip never disappoints and all of their Mahi dishes are delicious! Definitely try the sweet potato fries! If you stop in on Sunday, be sure to say hello to the best bartender in the business, Greg!!!

Claudia A.

Yelp
Solid 5/5 sports dive bar. Get the Philly cheesesteak...scrumptious. We came during a Penn state football game. Big Philly/eastern PA sports bar. Come here if you're looking for that Saturday college football vibe right by the beach.

Deia B.

Yelp
AWSOME place ,great atmosphere .Great food .Excellent service. Will def go again . Keep it up

David D.

Yelp
If you're into any PA sports, like cheesesteaks and like being near (but not on) the beach, this is your spot. Whether you like sitting outside on a nice day, or sitting inside a classic, dark bar, every seat is within viewing distance of a TV. The staff is friendly and there are a LOT of beers on tap. They also have a side room/bar with a classic shuffleboard table! I love this bar.

Shania F.

Yelp
My boyfriend is from Philly and we love this bar! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and they always take great care of their guests.

Joe G.

Yelp
Great place to watch football on Saturdays and Sunday! Great service and food! As soon as you walk thru the door you are a regular.

Ryan F.

Yelp
Great place for bar food. I love the philly cheese steak. Fun nfl atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Curb appeal looks average but inside is great!!!

Chris D.

Yelp
Just around the corner from our hotel (Ft.Lauderdale beach resort) The Parrot is a great place for food and drinks I had the fish&chips, and the Best I've had, huge portions of fresh battered fish and French fries The quesadillas were fantastic also Great value for prices You will not be disappointed Staff is tremendous and knowledgeable about menu items

John M.

Yelp
Friendly bar with a good vibe. They have a decent menu with the type of items that you would expect from a Florida Seaside City, some seafood, burgers, etc., plus they offer "Philly" cheesesteaks. Since I lived in Philadelphia, we never called a cheesesteak a "Philly" so I would be suspect of their homage to the City of Brotherly Love, plus I don't think they use shaved ribeye (the only kind of steak that should be used on a cheesesteak, and please remember to not call it a "Philly" if you visit Philadelphia). All in all, a cool.place to hang out and grab a beer and maybe something to eat.

Heidi D.

Yelp
Eagles fans unite!! Enjoyed watching the Superbowl here in February and have been quite a few times to enjoy a few drinks. Friendly crowd, friendly bartenders, decent prices.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Really solid little dive bar, lounge, sports bar... or whatever you'd like to refer to it as! Service is wonderful; food and drink are both better than expected- truly! I came in with pretty low standards, and came out incredibly satisfied. We had the chicken quesadilla, and the house burger. Give this place a shot, it's worth it!

Donna T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! bartenders and servers are tons of fun!! Food was excellent as were the drinks. very reasonably priced especially being so close to the beach. Thanks for the great time!

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Had mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers! Food is great, quick walk from beach, excellent drinks! Definitely recommend!

Alexa L.

Yelp
Whenever we are craving a philly and we are near the beach, we always stop by! Ive been coming here for the past 7 years and truly, consistency is key. The first time I found this spot was during football season and I was with a bunch of Eagles fans. Well, if you know the parrot lounge, they are HUGE eagles fans. They always have drink specials and their always cooking fresh food. Great bar, delicious food, and music! Its a recipe for a good time. Truly one of the best spots for a philly. Steaks always seasoned great, cheese is always gooey, and love that you can build it to your liking. They also have good wings, their chicken sandwich is juicy and we recently tried their burger! You wont be disappointed.

Claire S.

Yelp
The Parrot is basically a dive sports bar, but the food is honestly great! I love a good dive bar, but I don't usually count on great food. The Parrot is the exception to the rule--I would definitely check it out for a post-beach drink and stay for dinner. My husband and friend both ordered the wings, which were awesome, and I ordered a tuna salad sandwich--yes, kind of an odd meal choice for a dive bar, but I was pleasantly surprised. On top of that, the service was great...we never waited for a drink and our waitress was so sweet. The atmosphere, food, and service are all on point here!

Mick M.

Yelp
I really want to leave this place zero stars. You cannot sit at the bar unless someone dies? Maybe a wait list. I should've taken a picture! All reserved spots for old timers? Not sure the etiquette there-went in at 2pm for game at 4 and the bar was empty, except for paper reserved handouts at the bar. I was here to celebrate my home, my team, my spirit. Never again! Bartender said they are from California!!! Bye , bye eagles fly!!

Blue A.

Yelp
TLDR: A great beach bar. ____ Hurricane is coming! Maybe. Ok, it's probably going to miss us. My friends and I still took advantage of the "calm before the storm" and headed to beach for a fun day in the sand (and extremely warm water). After a few hours of getting sunkissed, we came here for an adult beverage. I've been to the Parrot Lounge a few times now and it's always a good time. My go to is a piña colada, cause I want to act like I'm a tourist in my own town. These are really good - however might be too sweet for some, so beware. They have a decent list of local craft beers as well, which is always nice. It's the three Ds. No, not diners, drive ins and dives....but a little divey, dingy and dark. A nice escape from the daylight. Perfect to duck in for a few drinks and maybe event a bite to eat. They also have really nice staff. Everyone that's ever taken care of me here has been extremely nice. I'll prob make this an after beach tradition with my friends moving forward. A nice way to end our beach day.

Ron F.

Yelp
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Mahi Reuben and Mahi tacos. Great time!

Brielle P.

Yelp
The best place around to watch penn state, philly teams, any sort of PA sporting event! LOVE IT. This jersey girl feels right at home. Always a good , fun crowd. Bartenders are awesome. Friendly , funny , attentive. Inside and outside seating areas. Food is what I like to call "high class bar food". Really good wings, wraps, burgers, mozzarella sticks, etc. Pricing is reasonable and beer is cold and they have drink specials. Parking is limited and hard in this area so Uber or scooter if you can. looking forward to football season at the parrot.

Brandon G.

Yelp
Great service and loved the conch fritters and Mahi fish tacos. The crisp on the fritters with the tender centers made them perfect fritter. The Mahi tacos were fresh with crisp lettuce and slaw made for a nice taco. Bartender was very personable and the beer selection was good.

Rhaea P.

Yelp
My first time to the Parrot Lounge and my husband and I will be back again! We were actually here for a fundraiser, which was not only a ton of fun but they give you a whole room to yourself there, so if you're looking to host, make sure to call and ask! We tried their pepper Jack squares & they were SO good! Not pictured was the chicken sandwich they had, we got it fried, that was also a favorite. They have a full bar and outdoor seating. Parking is hard depending on what time you go, however there is plenty on the street and some side parking lots as well that aren't too expensive. This is your typical dive/sports bar so no need to dress up. We are looking forward to coming here again soon!

Alan L.

Yelp
Jess is the best waitress in Fort Lauderdale. The food is excellent. Try the pretzel and mustard to start. Their tuna entree is equal or better than very expensive restaurants. It is rare, on a bed of tasty seaweed salad. Also, enjoy the sandwiches, burgers and salads. All the waiters are professional and respectful. But Jess takes it to a level of excellence. The Parrot is a sports bar with very good food. As two gay guys eating at a sports bar, Jess makes us feel welcome and comfortable.

Liz B.

Yelp
Always good. Beach bar without being on the beach, good food, good service. My go to happy place!

A B.

Yelp
Dive Bar. Fast service. Super friendly. Hot food. Fish and chips good. Fries over cooked and coleslaw has too much celery seed. I came for some fish though and that was great. Check it out if need a place to catch the game.

Gloria C.

Yelp
My husband and I visit Ft Lauderdale every year and this is the first time eating here. Wow! Food was absolutely incredible. The crab cake sandwich, Philly steak and homemade chip were fantastic. Our waitress, Erica (apologies if I misspelled) was wonderful. Great service and very kind and attentive. Appreciated her outstanding service and genuine demeanor. We will definitely be back!

Tim S.

Yelp
The Parrot is a specific type of bar, and it's darn good for what it wants to be. Some people who search online sports bar get pointed to the Parrot. The Parrot is that, it;s an excellent sports bar. The amount of TV's on a Football Sunday playing football is fantastic. But it's also a locals bar and townie bar. A lot of us locals go there just o have a beer and hang with the fellas. Above all it's an Eagles bar. I'm not an Eagles fan at all, but it is fun to visit during a game. The 100's of fans who turn out create a strong sense of solidarity for one cause. There are large cheers and when something goes wrong, the whole bar hollars as a group in pain. I stopped down the other day to have a beer with a few buddies. It was nice to get out and go to such a homie spot. The night was fun, as we sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon. Service was great, as always. we had a couple different servers helping us and they were always there ready with the next drink and a sarcastic cheap shot. Long story short, it's a great spot. Wether you are a local or a tourist, wether you want a beer or the game, the parrot will reward you with a good time.

Doug P.

Yelp
The food is always great , our server was very attentive and kind . The young bartender not so much , I will explain . We always love going there when we go on vacation annually to Fort Lauderdale , we have been going there for 10 plus years . However last night was not so great , in regards to what happened. I went to the men's room , so when I came out my buddy was waiting to go inside , a one man restroom. He had gash above his eyebrow and one below his cheek, I noticed the bartender was following him and I asked him what happened, he said "Just making sure that he's safe to be in the building " . That immediately pissed me off , no empathy or offer for some ice to put on his wounds . He obviously is new and has no concern for anyone , but himself . We didn't even have dinner , I was so upset with lack of kindness. WHAT HAS GONE WRONG WITH AMERICA TODAY !

Henry T.

Yelp
Ahh, The Parrot. What a glorious dump of a place-and I mean that with all due respect. Nice selection of craft beers and my props to the chicken wings. Plenty of TVs tuned to live sports. Our bartender was super friendly and attentive. A welcome contrast to the Ft. Lauderdale hotel strip.

Lena L.

Yelp
We are eagles fans and went for the eagles game. On just that alone, five stars. The fact that every TV is playing the eagles and we got outside seats, still five stars. The service and our amazingly nice attentive waitress, again five stars. The food- minus a star. I have to say it was pretty darn gross. The wings were dry and over cooked. Extra sauce helped but there was no saving these birds (luckily not my eagles, they won! ). We also got a kinda gross looking pretzel with way to much salt added and a really goopy honey mustard sauce on the side. Not so bad we're plain nachos with cheese and sour cream, salsa and guacamole on the side. If you need to eat here, the nachos are safe. The bathrooms - minus a star. You'd think it was the night before Halloween in their with how much toilet paper was on the floor, the walls, you name it. I guess I'd just describe it as "rough in there" as I told my mom before she took a turn. Gross bathrooms are a big pet peeve of mine because if your bathrooms look that bad, how bad is your kitchen? There is no way you're a clean freak in the kitchen and then ignore the bathrooms. It was fun to watch the game and I'd probably go back for that but no other reason.

Shavawn G.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN. As dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fans we planned on being able to watch the game here while vacationing in FL. I read reviews, checked their website and any social media posts that I could find about this location. It seemed like the best place to enjoy the Eagles game while we were out of town. We arrived two hours ahead of game time to make sure that we could get seats. I thought that it was a good sign to see that they were open, but all of the seats were still empty. We then learned that EVERY SINGLE SEAT was reserved. If this was advertised literally ANYWHERE, then we would not have wasted the time, money, research, and Ubers only to be left with no where to watch the game. The Parrot Lounge seems to be operating a private FL Eagles fan club. Good for them! If only they could let visitors from Philly (or anywhere) know ahead of time that you can't come here without a reservation. With all of our research this isn't mentioned anywhere.

Jay H.

Yelp
This was a cool bar behind the hotel the food was good and the drinks were good seem like it's a spot a lot of locals come.

Bob H.

Yelp
Let's talk Parrot and it's number one employee, Mitch. I stopped in to watch the game while the group got ready. Mitch served me but mismade my drink. No biggie - happens often. For the next one, the girl at the bar made it right and Mitch scolded her. I intervened. Apparently he protested my request for a larger glass (I like lots of soda water, less booze, to stay sober through the night). Mitch got pissy. Cited the owner as his authority plus his 26 years at the bar. Tossed out my new drink. I remained calm, finished my drink as we bantered about the upcoming review. Mitch wants you to know to stay away. Outsiders aren't welcome. Customer service isn't a thing. He doesn't need you. I redirected my group to another watering hole among the many. No reason to endure Mitch and his 'owner' off the water with their attitude.
