The Best Restaurants, Wineries, and Wildlife in Adelaide, Australia | Eater

"Set on Paul Kelly Lane with massive windows and lots of foliage, this modern-Australia restaurant has an elevated, breezy bistro vibe and a lunch menu of items like popcorn broccoli, sopressa toast, and salt-and-pepper bug rolls (an Australian classic similar to a lobster roll); you can also choose the Feed Me option and linger because the staff won’t rush you." - Amanda Smith

5 creative locally-owned places in Adelaide to visit - SilverKris

"An all-day bistro on Pilgrim Lane created by hospitality entrepreneur Josh Baker with chef Stewart Wesson in the kitchen, offering an inventive lunchtime menu that includes highlights like banana-leaf-wrapped barramundi in Caribbean spices and blue swimmer crab scrambled eggs. The space feels refined and inviting, with tall windows, draping plants and sleek wooden furniture, and has been noted as a potential catalyst for renewed energy in the area." - Amanda Smith

My friends and family had lunch here today and loved the feed me menu. They offer the express version but we opted for the full feed me. It was so tasty and great value for money. The broccoli was unforgettable and I’m sure we’ll talk about this dish for years to come. The semifreddo was a nice surprise and felt like Christmas. The whole menu was delicious but what topped it for me was the wonderful service. I didn’t catch her name, but we had a friendly French (I think?) waitress who was so attentive and cared about how we experienced the pace of our meal as not to feel rushed. I noticed her subtly checking on our table regularly and how we were tracking which I appreciated. The atmosphere was bustling but not too hectic. My only slight negative (but not really) is that my friend’s earl grey mocktail was half full of foam. Thank you for a great lunch. I’ve already recommended to friends.

I went to Part Time Lover with my mum, and while it’s busy and quite loud, the food and cocktails make it worth it. We tried the popcorn broccoli, salt & pepper bug roll, anchovy toast, miso scallops, and Vietnamese grilled squid. Everything was delicious. My favourites were the anchovy toast and popcorn broccoli, and I loved the Porch Swing cocktail, while my mum’s favourites were the salt & pepper bug roll and miso scallop. It’s a great spot if you don’t mind a lively atmosphere.

I’d always wanted to try this place because of its high rating and it didn’t disappoint. The vibe is fantastic, and I especially love the chairs in the open area. I went for lunch when it was busy; they initially offered me a bar stool or a table tucked away at the back, but I mentioned I preferred the front yard and was happy to wait. Andy was very accommodating and prepared a table for us as soon as one became available. Kudos to Andy! Though I have to say, on my second visit, the rest of the staff weren’t as friendly. Now, the food absolutely incredible. We ordered the set menu, which is amazing value. The harissa chicken was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavour, while the pumpkin dish was simply divine. Hats off to the chef! I’ll definitely keep coming back for my Friday lunches and can’t wait to try everything on the menu. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Wow! What an incredible experience. It was our first time here after wanting to treat ourselves to a nice lunch. My friends mum had passed away and we had her funeral the day before, so we very much needed some yummy food, good drinks, and quality time. PTL not only met our expectations (based on raving reviews and a yummy looking menu) but exceeded them. Our waitress was divine and upbeat, treating us more like a friend than customers. All our silly requests were catered to (no raw fish and heater off). We genuinely had the most incredible time. All of the staff were lovely actually! We left raving about how full our bellies were, and how we couldn’t fault a thing. We were even given a greeting card from the staff to say thank you for dining there. Sometimes it’s just the little things. Thank you PTL for not only giving us an incredible lunch, but providing us with a joyful core memory at a delicate time. We will be back!

I’ve been hearing positive reviews about Part Time Lover for ages – and it didn’t disappoint! There’s genuinely nothing to fault – the food was delicious, service was welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively both indoors and outdoors. The menu included a variety of options, and all our dishes were 10/10. Particularly, the popcorn broccoli, harissa chicken and scotch fillet stood out to me as exceptional. A bit on the pricey side, but the whole experience was worth it. Highly recommend :))

First at at this restaurant. Staff were so friendly and helpful. They were also really understanding. The food was delicious! The corn ribs were very tasty. As soon as you walk in you instantly feel the costal vibes. The food matched the costal theme. And the music wasn’t too loud. I am definitely going back again.

Food was not too bad. Service was average. Waited ages to be served a menu. Not ideal for a date night as it was quite noisy and I had to shout to talk. Also had no clue why the booking said it’s “1hour dining” as apparently it was not while we were there

After a recommendation from friends, I booked dinner for my partner’s birthday. It was everything they shared and more. A great vibe, all tables full and inventive well balanced food. It was the first time we had Broccoli Popcorn and Corn Ribs - one word, hooked! Can recommend the feed me menu, you won’t be disappointed and you certainly won’t go hungry. But great food is only half of the experience and the other half is front of house staff. Well done to all FOH staff - from arrival, during our stay and to our departure - confident, skilled, attentive and accommodating. Thank you 🙏 Make sure you book early to ensure you can experience Part Time Lover!
