The Pasadena Civic Auditorium has been around since 1932, and you can feel its history the moment you see it. It’s a beautiful building — grand but not over-the-top, with classic architecture that really stands out. When we stopped by, there were groups of graduates taking photos on the steps, and it just fit — the place has a sense of celebration about it. The columns, the layout, the soft glow of the old stone — it’s the kind of building that makes you pause. Even if you’re not going to a show, it’s worth a visit. It’s one of those places that reminds you how much charm Pasadena has tucked into its corners.

We had our Citizenship Ceremony there we started lining up at 11am and our ceremony was at 12:15pm but started until 1:45pm and lasted about an hour, the place it’s nice and cool inside we were 2199 people, over all a great experience.

They always seem to have something going on. Everything is orderly. Sent during Monsterpalooza. Fun.

Google
This place is huge! We went to "Monsterpalooza" there and had a great time. It held over 400 vendors and 2 stages. I believe there was also a museum, plus there were places you could take photos with celebrities. There were so many talented artists there and in the crowds of people. The A/C was pretty good for such a large place. The food was NOT good. It didn't even smell good. (That's my opinion) My only complaint is the parking!! There isn't enough. My friend didn't listen to me about going early so we could get good parking and we had to park about 3/4 mile away!! That's too far for older people or disabled people to walk! Plus it was hot that day! All makeup was messed up from sweating!

Large theatre center in Pasadena. Gorgeous venue for concerts or large events. The ceiling is incredible.

Beautiful setting. Surrounded by many food choices. We saw America Got Talent..the show itself was wonderful but I would give that 3 stars for mismanagement of audiences. They need to operate better getting people in, get a loud speaker so we can hear them..not yelling on the top of their lungs and we still can't hear! It was a beautiful weather so it was tolerable but to stand 3 hrs waiting outside?? Sad to say I'm not attending again. I wasted 3 hrs of my time and I'm impatient when I get older. 5 stars for the auditorium only.

Had an exciting experience participating as an audience member in the live Quarter Finals of America's Got Talent (AGT) and saw 11 acts. This was incredible fun.

Google
This is a very interesting building. There is plenty of parking across the street. The grounds are and entry are well kept. The seating and acoustics are excellent. It is getting a little older. My only concern was there are homeless around the area.

Yelp
It is currently being used as a victim from fire shelter - if interested please sign up at American Red Cross website to volunteer. Otherwise it's open for all victims needing shelter from losing their home in the recent fire. Thank you city of Pasadena for working endlessly, and the community around us. Volunteering and witnessing everyone's community kindness is amazing. Highly recommend everyone to also donate supplies (water, diapers, wipes) to Santa Anita Race Track! Thank you everyone for your help! (I volunteered this past week)

Yelp
Most recognizable to the nation as the home of America's Got Talent. Although businesses around the auditorium have struggled since the pandemic. AGY gives the area a glimmer of hope for a possible recovery.
google avatar

Dani S.

Yelp
The venue is a little old and out of date, but America's got talent show was kind of fun. Came here to be real live audience on the show and that was kind of fun. The auditorium is not big so every seat in the house is pretty good. The whole place is very old and out of date and smells kind of bad. They did put in new technology for the show which I think everyone appreciates. The seats were not particularly comfortable. Parking across the street was very easy, $12 maximum.
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
Nice old theater. Not too big, not too small. Went for one of the live shows of America's Got Talent. We were given seats in the second row of the very top balcony, but could see pretty darn well considering how high up we were. We could not, however, see the judges in their seats at all, nor could we see the announcer who works the audience into frenzies most of the time. Sound was good, which is especially a plus for an older theater. I was especially fond of a security guard who was kind enough to let us onto the floor before the show to take pics since our seats were up so high. Stairs leading up there were not bad though. Carpeted. Bathrooms are part-way up those stairs, off to the side, then up a few more stairs. Clean. Note: it's a fun experience to do the AGT live show thing!
google avatar

Yelp
Great old big venue, it would be nice to upgrade (bathroom, etc) abit but it does it job and nice staff.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Went to seen AGT auditions here Been meaning to see this for a couple years in person and it's been filming here at this location It's a nice old school theater or auditorium I suppose but with it being old it means it does lack things like bathrooms which can make for long lines especially at events like this when everyone is let in at the same time Seats were fine typical not crazy uncomfortable and the staff that did work the event were friendly but I will say things were a bit of a mess at times in terms of them not really enforcing their own set rules Hahaa But I had a lot of fun for what I went for and its located in the heart of the convention center there in Pasadena with a shopping center across the street and plenty of parking lots

Yelp
I went to see Kevin Hart's comedy show and had an incredible evening. Pasadena Civic Auditorium is a historical monument in Pasadena and all seats are decent. Easy parking adjacent to the Paseo mall which is great because you can eat at several eateries and then just walk across the street to the auditorium. Very intimate inside with original decor. Great place to see any entertainment. Note: we had to lock our phones up so I could not take any pictures inside.
google avatar

Brandye K.

Yelp
An evening with David Sedaris was delightful. Location, parking and options for dinner are all walkable. Seats are not the most comfortable for plus size individuals. You can make it work. I purchased an extra seat so we had space between us and the next person.

Yelp
Watched America's Got Talent here, I am not sure if I can give this PLACE a cool review because I was so into the show instead of the place LOL! peace* It was all a great experience! The stage and lights show is a phenomenon. $15 parking fee for the event, do not waste your time looking for parking as soon as you get in, just go straight to the Lower lot and there are plenty since elevators are available anyway. Booked (for AGT) early online and arrive early because the earlier you are there the better chance you'll get seated on the first floor where the judges are instead of the balcony and more chances that you will be seen on TV (if you want that). No need to fall in line in that long Q in front of the auditorium **just roam around the area** as long as you have your paper tickets with you (you will get them from their staff -- you will see them for sure just go in front of the Auditorium) and you return before the call time you are good since you have seats assigned for you already. NO FOOD/DRINKS stands inside so buy and eat all you can while you are outside of the building. Enjoy!

Yelp
The location is a wonderful part of Pasadena, very close to the 210 freeway, and with GPS very easy to get to. Parking is plentiful and close to two city parking structures. The building itself is a treat. Built in the early 1930s, it was fun just looking around and admiring the architecture. PCA is a large auditorium and well suited for watching concerts, plays, or any kind of show. The seats were, unfortunately, not so enjoyable. Small seats, narrow and set close to the row in front, made for an uncomfortable evening. I'm 6 ft tall and a bit overweight (about 20 lbs, or so). I was lucky the seat next to me was empty because if a large person had sat in that seat, we both would have been miserable. The seating by itself will make me think twice about coming to this venue in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
The auditorium itself is fine. This review is for the "a snow white Christmas" musical they had. We feel a bit duped. They had Neil Patrick Harris listed as one of the main actors and he was just participating as a recorded video. He was not physically present there. The dancing was fine. And some of the singing was good. But we were mostly disappointed. This ended up being a kid's show and a cheesy rendition of snow white. If you have kids they'll probably enjoy this show. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend this show.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
I attended the annual holiday show here and enjoyed the experience. The theater is quite large. The seats are comfortable. The sound was good too. I found the food and drink options adequate. The bathrooms were easy to find and clean. Overall, the experience was very good.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for a retro gaming event within the exhibit B hall. I can say overall the venue is super clean. Be extra cautious when driving as Pasadena has one way streets like downtown l.a which can lead to some accidents. Parking rates can run up to 20 dollars , but I recommend anyone on green street to park within the paseo parking structure for a better daily rate.

Yelp
I had been here for a jazz concert some years ago, but tonight my wife and I took advantage of tickets for a taping of America's Got Talent. Free, as with all of the numerous show tapings I've sat in on. Only here you're at a bit of a disadvantage; for unlike a studio taping there are no monitors. And the audience is encouraged to get loud. Some overly so and rowdy! But still a fun experience and free night out for my wife and I, other than the $15.00 valet parking fee. The sound quality during contestants performances isn't the greatest, and those buzzers the judges can press when finding a performance unfavorable are deafening! Keep your gum chewing away from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, because they have a strict policy against it. And no photography or recording during the show's production. Lots of free audience prize giveaways between contestants though, because there are many lulls in production. So figure on at least 3 hours in your seat, but you can take restroom breaks. This theater seats some 3,000 people and gets quite full. But if you've never seen a network program taped live, I'd highly recommend tickets to one of the numerous studios throughout the greater LA area for a better feel of "Hollywood" at work. If this theater looks familiar to you, it was the home of the Network Television Emmy Awards for many years.

Yelp
This auditorium is one of the landmark building in old town Pasadena. Opened in 1932, the auditorium is the place for touring theatrical productions, concerts, television shows, & various award shows. Auditorium holds about 3000 people. Attended the Celtic Women in concert. Turns out the scale of the Celtic Women production was in much smaller scale than what I was used to seeing. Regardless of the size, the concert was wonderful. The Celtic Woman put up a wonderful repertoire and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The acoustic & visibility from where I was seated (LC - row J) were good. The concessions set up outside and bathrooms were clean. The event parking was $15 & attendents were friendly and nice. (Parking is by the Sheraton Hotel on the east side of the entrance). Those who parked at the parking structure by the hotel, there are only 2 elevators going down to the parking levels. There aren't any other way (no stairs) to get to parking other than the elevators, so need to have some patience to get to parking. I'd park across the street (at Paseo Colorado) from the auditorium next time for faster exit. ***electric car charger is available at the parking structure

Yelp
This isn't for the show we saw, but the venue, which allowed seating for 40 minutes into the show. I understand there are always latecomers, but 40 minutes is very very excessive. They never once closed the doors to latecomers and it was extremely disruptive and took away from the show for sure. The people were coming in with flashlights, the ushers were talking loud to find seats, it was pretty bad. I was on the orchestra level so I don't know what was going on with the other levels. I would never go back for a show here unless they have a stricter 'doors close at' policy.

Yelp
Came to see a play here today and it was such an amazing experience. Beautiful Auditorium with a rich heritage and history right in the heart of Pasadena. You can park in the near by structure or Paseo but it's so convenient to take the metro here. I got out at memorial station off the Gold Line metro and it was not even a 10 min walk. It's across the paseo on green street. The show itself was superb with an intermission. I saw Snow White Christmas special and tickets were pretty reasonable on goldstar. I paid for more expensive tickets for the loge seats but orchestra seats were priced at $22 plus service fees. Friendly staff, great metro friendly location and beautiful theater make this a must see in Pasadena!

Yelp
This place is amazing and grandiose. I came here for an event (America's got talent) in March and the interior is large and spacious. Plenty of seating with a great view of the stage. Even the sound effects were amazing. Came here with my friends and we got to see some of the acts that will be shown on tv in May. There are plenty of parking garages nearby and plenty of ladies rooms so no waiting in line to tinkle. Staff here is friendly and there are handicapped rails to accommodate. Interior decor is amazing. Definitely will try and come back for more events.

Yelp
The Pasadena Civic Auditorium is a beautiful architectural landmark that has been one if the jewels of Old Town Pasadena for over 100 years. Tonite they are having the gala pre-opening of the movie "Frozen ll". A Walt Disney Studios production and is the the 58th film produced by the studio, it is the sequel to the 2013 film Frozen and features the return of directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, producer Peter Del Vecho, songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and composer Christophe Beck.  . . . . . . #frozenll,#frozentwo,#frozen2,#waltdisneystudios,#chrisbuck,#peterdelvecho,#kristenandersonlopez,#frozen,#pasadenaauditorium,#pasadena,#californiadreaming, #californiadreamin, #waltdisney,#

Yelp
Came for an evening with David Sedaris. Our seats were in an awesome location where it was easy to see and hear. The venue was crowded and hot. Too many people for COVID safety in my opinion. Husband was very uncomfortable due to very little leg room. Uncomfortable seating. Will likely avoid this venue in the future unless they are presenting something so compelling I am willing to put up with the discomfort.
google avatar

Cassandra Y.

Yelp
The Venue: Mid size theater. It is a historic building. One of the landmark in Pasadena. Since it is older theater, not much leg room. enough restrooms. The theater is not to big so every seat has good view. The Parking: There are parking lot structures near the auditorium. $10+ depends on the events. There are also street metered parking but only 1-2 hours.
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
What a fabulous place to have an event. We had complimentary tickets to see the America gots Talent show being taped here. It was very well organized and the entrance went smoothly. The interior of the building is old school beautiful and has all its artistic glory in prime condition. The restrooms are very big and there is no waiting around to use a stall.

Yelp
Came here to watch America's Got Talent with my family. The performances were absolutely incredible. The live theater experience is COMPLETELY different from the home experience. Everything is amplified around you. Also, the theater is much smaller than the TV makes it out to be (in case you're wondering). Just some important advice: Arrive here EARLY to get FREE street parkings and better seatings. After you arrive, go get your ticket, and you can wander around the area until your call time. Also, the show requires A LOT OF YOUR TIME (call time was 7:45pm, didn't start until 9pm) and ENERGY (I ended up croaking at the very end). But as for the auditorium itself, I was... not impressed. The seats were cushiony, but... the floors were very dirty. They told us to put our bags underneath our chairs, and when I looked down, my eyes BULGED. There were SAUCES and CRUMBS all over the floor... I thought they didn't allow food or drinks in the auditorium? Then, there were the restrooms, which needed A LOT of attention. Almost EVERY SINGLE STALL had no toilet seats or toilet papers!
google avatar

Melanie G.

Yelp
When the theater is set up for the taping of America's Got Talent stay away from section Orch C rows Z and back. You'll be behind the camera area. The last row in that section is row FF. We were told they would move us after the judges were introduced and walked down the aisle, but during a bathroom break we missed them doing this. We came back to an empty section and no one would tell us where to move to. So we got stuck in that section for the rest of the show.
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
Quite a nice, big, clear venue. Lots of parking all around. Honestly, I'm 6'6 and my knees weren't jammed into the row in front of me, so they automatically get 6/5 stars in my book for that reason, alone. Tall men, rejoice!
google avatar

Yelp
I came to see the Opera called "Journey To The West" on Sunday afternoon and finding that I really liked the old school look of the building! Even the seats had the look and feel like they were originally part of the place, which they probably were. The walls of the lobby and auditorium had decorative wallpaper meant to give a Ye Old English Theatre ornateness to the place which makes it work in a cheesey kind of way. The restrooms were huge and accomodating - so no long lines...well from the male point of view. The acoustics were great for the Opera singers and the orchestra that were playing. In fact so great that a guy somewhere in the back burped and I heard it pitch perfect. Loved the AC in there too.Had no idea that people were cooking from the heat outside while we watched the show. The Opera was wonderful. Gotta love live performances...they're all unique and different every time. I wouldn't mind coming back for future events! It's a nice old fashioned auditorium. In fact I think I saw an usher in there that was probably there when it first opened...

Yelp
It's been a few years since I've been back to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The last time was for a field trip back in elementary school so it's been a long while. This is a historic venue where they've hosted many big events in the past. I was surprised at how the balcony seats were surprisingly decent. The overhang is a decent distance from the stage so you can actually see the action going on pretty clearly. I bought my tickets at the box office months prior and the team of ladies were very helpful and they were able to help me select a good seat for the event. Parking: there's street parking, parking in the official parking as well, or some people park at the Paseo and walk over.
google avatar

Maia E.

Yelp
My cousin and I came to the Pasadena Centre to see the Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour. I loooove Kevin Hart. Pasadena is a very nice area so I was happy the show was taken place here. It's also only 30 minutes from our hotel at the Hilton Whittier. Parking lot is not too far away. When we got to the venue the line up was insane just to go through security. Once inside we had to line up again for the washroom. Theres only one ladies room at the Pasadena centre which is quite surprising. The venue is nice nothing extravagant. Our seats were in the EE row and we managed to see the stage very well. The auditorium was not huge so even if you get seats at the back the views not that bad. All in all a great venue and the Kevin Hart show was amazing. Very funny!
google avatar

Bin H.

Yelp
Great venue, better parking options! One star shy because box office was hidden/tucked away inside rather than the usual outside that most venues offer, and the acoustics were a bit off (I sat left center orchestra, Row R last seat 29 I believe) and although it was really close to the center, the sounds were a bit absent. Parking options, however, were plentiful. Not only does the venue offer parking onsite, there were at least 4-5 nearby lots that I noticed within walking distance. My friend parked across the street inside the Paseo lot and her ticket was only $9 without validation during a Saturday Matinee show.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
It's a great venue full of history, one of the oldest in LA, good for events and performances, staff members were friendly and very helpful, and event was well organized. The nearest parking garage $12 up to 16 hours, alternatively street meter parking but two hours only.

Beth D.

Yelp
Needs restrooms. Badly. Don't drink anything before the concert/show or you will miss it. Too bad, because otherwise, a really cool venue.
google avatar

Noah S.

Yelp
Went here for a friends graduation from Western University, and I have to say, this place looks really nice! It was packed so my friends and I waited outside. I was able to get a quick sneer peak inside the auditorium and it looked like it can seat a lot of people! There is an upper balcony to seat more people which can come in handy. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, with limited spots for metered street parking, so I parked across Green Street from the auditorium. You get 90min free and after that you will have to pay a few shackles but nothing to sweat about.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Hmm... came here to watch AMERICAS GOT TALENT SHOW and the auditorium is pretty nice. I love Pasadena area. You can still feel the history and the detail of every building made and the ancient style they have in the city. It was hard to find the place but parking in underground. Cost is $12 or $15 depending where you park. It's specious and clean. I'm surprise the show was still able to record here. Love it!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I recently attended a performance of "A Snow White Christmas" at the PCA. I had a wonderful time and my lil one enjoyed it even more. We were invited guests of the producer. And so, we were lucky enough to meet some of the cast after the show and to talk to them a tiny bit about their experiences as actors/performers. That was fun. Before the show, we were able to talk to some of the producers as well as play some games with other kiddos in the gold room. Snacks, like a small bag of sun chips, was $5 I think. A regular size bag of M&M's was something like $3. I can't say that I'm shocked at all. I'm just glad that they had snacks. The restrooms were clean and were so well kept, with a hostess inside to help usher people to open restroom stalls and to make sure things like paper towels were stocked. The lobby is beautiful, as well. It's a huge space and there were several vendors set up to promote their services and other offerings. It was a really nice foyer full of activities to check out before the show. The balcony area was closed but there was more than enough room for all those in attendance at the show. The organ playing pre-show was so beautiful. The person playing it was very good and it was quite a sight to watch them disappear right into the stage. The lighting and audio were great. I wish I'd been able to come to other productions here before. This really is a gorgeous venue.

Yelp
Adam and I came here for a recording of America's Got Talent and we had a pretty good experience with the venue. There is no parking specific to this venue however there are garages near by that you can park in. They do obviously know when there are events going on, and so they charge a ton of money for parking but getting out of the parking garage was easy and there was hardly any extra traffic at the end of the event. Getting to the venue as very easy and when we did there was a line around the building to get in. The line moved very quickly but I can't imagine running late and getting to the line when the event is supposed to start, you will probably miss part of it. I highly suggest making sure you are at any event with a strict start time to ensure you do not miss anything. For the taping of the show, we did not get to pick seats but got very lucky that we were right in the front on the left next to the judges. The seats were fantastic and we were able to see the stage so well with no issues the entire time. I know if I were to come back for an event I wouldn't be able to afford those seats but with the way the seats are set up, it seems like unless a guy over 6 feet sits in front of you, you should be good to see. The lobby is very small given the size of the venue so before the show or during an intermission, I suggest hanging out by your seats and not in the lobby. The lobby is also how you get to the bathrooms. The ladies room, unsurprisingly, had a very long line but it went very quickly. There were a lot of stalls and a staff member did great keeping the line moving as soon as one opened. It is just tough because since the bathrooms are off the lobby, and there is always a line, and the lobby is small, the ladies room line easily takes over the lobby. Overall, we had a good experience here and really had no issues.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Saw Bill Burr here on the second level and another comedian. I don't think there are any bad seats in the house! We had a great view. Tip: do look for the shortest line up by maybe walking towards the middle. We found people were content with the lines at the left and right to the auditorium that they didn't realize people were shuffling in through the middle as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to this venue a few times but most recently for a TV show taping and red carpet event. It's conveniently located near several parking garages and across from the antique mall and next to an indoor ice skating rink. It's handicap accessible and has beautiful architecture. Lots of art shows held around here. Great venue but could offer more outdoor benches.
google avatar

Rocky P.

Yelp
Omgoodness Johnny Mathis is amazing!!!!! Why is this not multiple nights even over a month or something????? The comedian was stellar! But what an honor to see Mr. Johnny Mathis!!!! Absolutely amazing! It's so sold out I'm stoked to have a proper intermission: just enough time to use the restroom to refresh and then look for a drink! Second half , here I come!!!wish I could share this with my husband and friends and my mom. An amazing orchestra and band! Played so many great songs all hits! Even a Mancini in there. What a true artist to give the story and love surrounding the music!

Yelp
The Pasadena Civic is one of the oldest auditorium venue in LA. 84 years old and still in very good shape. Beautiful inside and is a truly a gem. The format is similar to Pasadena playhouse but much bigger. Many shows were perform over the year here. Not many people remember that Michael Jackson Moonwalk debut is in here ! Parking is about $12 and is pricey, I suggest you go park other place nearby can be half the cost or even free. Paseo across the street is $9 daily rate vs $12, but you can find many street parking. The layout is simple and is easy to find your seat. To get to the balcony is like going to the third floor, the second floor it seem use for the performer or vip.

Yelp
We went American Got Talent show here. It's a great theatre for this kind of show. Not easy to find free parking space around the auditorium so you might have to park further away and walk back to the hall.
google avatar

Rad F.

Yelp
Went here for a taping of America's Got Talent. Very nice auditorium with comfortable seats. Free chilled water and cups were available in the lobby. Mens room is to the left up the first set of stairs. Women's room is to the right up the first set of stairs. Pro tip - in the men's room, you will walk past a set of stalls and urinals. Walk by them and wind around to the left, and you will see another set of stalls and urinals. Most people won't walk that far, so you can poop in peace.
google avatar

Sean D.

Yelp
Such a very nice auditorium. Very clean and well kept with excellent staff that is there to help you out with a friendly smile. Came here for the taping of America's got talent. It was a very awesome experience for my wife and I. Never been to a show taping or the Pasadena civic center. We were very impressed and had a wonderful night out.

Yelp
Close enough for small conferences. I liked the location and the closeness when I attended my annual regional conference. All within walking distance. Good restaurants in the area.

Yelp
Easy to get to, all the seats would be good seats. The theater isn't that big. Attended a kpop concert here- Red Velvet. Sounded good. The people working there kept a close eye on people, not many food options. Small refreshment area upstairs. Would attend other events here in the future

Yelp
Beautiful auditorium for events that can accommodate more than enough people for any size. I came here years ago for my brother's graduation (from Western University. Western University always holds their graduations at this auditorium) and my family and his friends were able to sit on the 1st floor, very close to the stage (have to come early to get good seats). Seating is stadium style and padded. The sound system provided enough sound for anyone (even in the way back on the 2nd floor) to hear the ceremony. The projector screen was large enough for anyone to see it as well. The a/c worked just beautifully, especially in a big room like this, you don't want the a/c system to fail. Parking wise, there are several lots that you could park at (various prices... the further away you are, the less you will pay). The most convenient parking lot is at the Paso Mall (which is right across the street... you can get a 90 minute validation from any of the stores at the mall. And just to let you know that Brookstone validates w/o a purchase). There are also plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from as well, after the event you attend here.

Yelp
The historic and grand Pasadena Civic Auditorium...it has hosted the Emmy's, People's Choice, American Idol and most recently the 2013 Miss CA USA/Teen USA Pageant, for which I was fortunate enough to be chosen as a backstage Makeup Artist this weekend. Staff was very accommodating when I asked where the "Glam Squad" was supposed to meet and they pointed me in the right direction and handed me a complimentary bottle of water. Nice touch! The Glam Squad: http://s605.beta.photobucket.com/user/makeupndesign/media/Miss%20CA%20USA%20and%20Miss%20Teen%20CA%20USA%20Glam%20Squad/MISSca_zps62ad3ad2.jpg.html#/user/makeupndesign/media/Miss%20CA%20USA%20and%20Miss%20Teen%20CA%20USA%20Glam%20Squad/MISSca_zps62ad3ad2.jpg.html?&_suid=136035967937508534234560829328 The theatre itself is quite majestic, architecturally speaking, acoustics okay but seating a bit cramped. However, I feel no matter where you sit in this venue, you will have a great concert viewing experience. I would definitely love to return to watch another show here the next time I am in the area. There is ample parking, at a price of course. You can park across the street in the mall parking lot or the one adjoining the auditorium. I believe the theatre had undergone some renovations a few years prior. And from what I've seen in trying to navigate through the catacomb-like paths to the dressing rooms backstage, I would say they may want to continue the renovating throughout the auditorium, including the backstage area. Believe me when I tell you it really was built back in 1931. I know the audience doesn't see all that but I swore the ceiling would come crashing down on me any minute from the looks of the peeled paint, cracks and water stains that lined the edges of the walls. Just an observation. I usually visit the adjoining convention center. It's a newer, more modern venue and hosts IMATS yearly, the International Makeup Artist Trade Show. I go ever year to stock up product, enjoy the makeup shows and learn new makeup techniques. But I love the old historic charm of the auditorium if I'm comparing the two. Side note: the girls were super sweet amidst the crazy chaos; the only downside was me getting the lovely task of covering up a tattoo near one of my girl's ladies parts. Ah, the joys of being a Makeup Artist...reduced to covering a crotch tat. Perhaps if I was a straight male it would've been more of an enjoyable experience. Just sayin.

Yelp
I visited the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to see a spin-off production of Beauty and the Beast. While the theater itself is very nice, its foyer and restroom are much too small. The line for the restroom was extremely long; patrons would certainly benefit from additional stalls. Additionally, because the women's restroom is located right off the stairs, it was absolute chaos during intermission when tons of people were coming down the stairs. The foyer is so small that it is difficult to walk just from one side to the other and it is near impossible to make it to the concession stand because everyone is tightly crowded into the small foyer. I would probably not return here because dealing with the crowds was too hectic. I would not recommend this venue to anyone with anxiety or claustrophobia issues.

Yelp
I found a $5 parking lot in the area. The hall seats too many people. The auditorium is supposedly green, in that it takes very little energy to operate. Very bright, white, and massive.

Yelp
Huge hall great for commencement! There are many parking garages near by, most of them charge a flat daily rate of about $10, although a few blocks away you can park for about $6-7 flat daily rate. Best part about this location is that it's walking distance to Colorado street where all the best eateries are located.
