"You could go to Paseo and have a “legendary” Caribbean roast pork baguette sandwich that has been a Seattle institution since anyone can remember. But, we’re telling you that you shouldn’t. Since the entirety of Paseo was sold in 2014 (except for the recipes) and reopened under new ownership, it just hasn’t been the same. The original Paseo owners (the Lorenzo family) now own and run the new sandwich kingpin Un Bien, which is actually where you should be shoving Caribbean-marinated meat baguettes into your face. If you find yourself at Paseo, you’re going to like it. But if you eat at Un Bien, you’re never going to want to step foot inside Paseo again. The one similarity between the two? You’ll need your tide pen regardless, because this sh*t will mess you up." - Aimee Rizzo

"Tiny caribbean restaurant on the north end of Fremont, and if you weren't looking for it specifically you'd probably miss it. But don't miss it! Seattleites as well as visitors flock to this place, make sure you budget time to wait. But it's worth it because Paseo is home to the best sandwich you will ever have in your life." - Wintr

"Seattle's favorite Caribbean grill features fantastically messy grub that catapulted Paseo to number three on Yelp's 2016 list of best places to eat in the U.S. The menu's undisputed star: the slow-roasted pork—garnished with jalapeños, romaine lettuce, and soft-cooked onions—on a bed of pillowy bread. This gooey, drippy deliciousness soaks right through two layers of waxed paper...and no one ever minds. Not feeling the gluten? Go for a bean-and-rice bowl, tofu braised with garlic-tapenade, or a chicken breast grilled over lava rocks. The restaurant also has a Fremont location (4225 Fremont Ave N, Seattle , WA 98103)."

Very good!! The sandwich was very good and flavorful, okay for the price, a bit expensive but good for the amount stuffed in. The fries are very good and flavor full, and a very big amount for the price. The onions are good, they aren’t caramelized, they are just lightly browned. Will definitely be back though to try more items!!

Google
Fire sandwich. The carribean roast is full of succulent pork delivered on a robust baugette. Whoever said this stuff was dry must be outta their mind. The corn is slathered in a garlic aioli and spices. You can't go wrong with the corn.

This is a great little shop with very traditional and delicious food. Worth making a destination out of for lunch or if you are in the neighborhood. Street parking is hit and miss. And you can have a beer with your sandwich.

Google
Pork belly sandwich is the best thing I've ever had. Perfectly juicy and perfectly flavorful. My favorite comfort food. Also really quick service and friendly staff. Parking limited near the store but there's tons of parking in the surrounding neighborhood less than 5 min walk away

I've been coming here for a long long time (before and after ownership change), so I know that the sandwiches are so good here. However, it was busy when I ordered, picked up to go and got home (far from Seattle). Found a part of a glove in one of the sandwiches, never seen this happen ever, pretty bad FFS. Other than that, nothing wrong with the sandwiches though, thus two stars.

Google
Got the caribbean roast sandwich the thing I loved most about this sandwich is it was absolutely loaded up with pork there was so much of the pork between the two sandwich buns that it was hard to actually take a bite of the full sandwich at once I found that really impressive - they absolutely give you a very strong amount of meat here As for how the pork was, I thought it was really good You do get a lot of flavor from the fat inside, and it's obvious it's been roasted to perfection I didn't get much flavor from the marinade, however, as other than the pork fat I'm not sure there was as much extra flavor as I was hoping. The great thing was it was really juicy, however - pressing down on it would start oozing liquid - which is exactly what you want Since the pork took up most of the sandwich, that's mostly what you got in each bite - with one major exception The onions were incredible - I absolutely loved the way these were caramelized, and they were soft yet had some denseness to them Most importantly, however, they were really large, and there was a lot of them. I don't think I've seen a place put this much of an onion on a sandwich - and it really worked to perfection here The buns were solid - they weren't special, and you couldn't really taste the aioli much because of the pork flavor soaking up most of it, but I did find that it added something, and taking a bite of the bun itself gave me more of that flavor. It does seem like it could've been toasted, though, as that would make it better The lettuce and jalapenos were also pretty solid add-ons here This sandwich was slightly expensive, but they made up for it for providing something that was pretty large, especially when you consider the amount of pork that was in it and how good that pork was. Another thing to note here was how sloppy this sandwich was. Every part of this was wet - which leaves the sandwich, the plate, and your hands covered in pork juice and oil at the end of it. I like my sandwiches this way, so this was really appealing. Overall, a pretty fantastic sandwich. 8.75/10

I was on a trip to Seattle when a family member recommended this place. I rarely eat pork, but this was recommended, so hey, live a little. The pork sandwich was unbelievable. So good. The people who work there were so helpful and friendly. The price was right and I'm looking forward to going back.

Google
We ordered a west Caribbean bowl, and Caribbean fries. The fries were good and spicy (I like spicy) but couldn’t see much difference from other fries 🤔 The west Caribbean bowl with tofu was delicious. I was a little apprehensive after reading other reviews, but I liked it. We asked the server for veg options but he wasn’t helpful at all. He himself was going through the whole menu to identify veg options along with us 😆

Yelp
Great sandwich! Very tasty. I will say, in these cold months, I had to go eat in my car because it was just too cold in the restaurant. I hate eating in my car though, so probably only a warm month place for me.

Em A.

Yelp
Wow, this sandwich was exceptional! I can't get over how juicy the classic pork sandwich was. If you're in the city and looking for a quick bite, this is the place to go. Tip: The sandwich is so juicy that it won't travel well--it needs to be devoured on-site. Zero complaints about the food! Alsooooo, added yuca fries. Crunchy nice sauce. I also noticed the large drink selection and personally opted for the agua fresca, jugo de Jamaica. It was sweet, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. The space is small but cute and colorful, with limited indoor seating and a dog-friendly outdoor patio. The service was just okay, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Yelp
So lucky to score a table before the lunch crowd came in! The shop is small, but surprisingly busy. Of course, I tried the sandwich that they're known for: the Famous Caribbean Roast. While I do love a juicy pork shoulder, I found the meat rather bland. The caramelized onions imparted the most flavor. The sandwich was dripping wet and the bread became soggy real quick. It's a messy experience, which is probably why the staff provide ample wet naps and napkins.

Veronica O.

Yelp
This place is amazing. We love their sandwiches. Every-time we are in the area we have to make a quick stop at Paseo . Highly recommend it

Jenny W.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way to the airport before flying home. Better than their competitor! The Caribbean Roast was tender and juicy! The meat was abundant. I would also recommend the Paseo Press. I loved the Roasted Corn on the Cob, as their garlic aioli and spices smothered on it was chef's kiss! Service-wise, they were so nice. It does take a while, but worth the wait. Casual, cozy seating inside with maybe 4 tables. More tables outside. One restroom inside. Wish I lived here to visit them on the regular. But alas, we will just have to wait until our next visit to Seattle.

Alex W.

Yelp
Atmosphere: Casual takeout spot Food: Delicious, but messy sandwiches. My girlfriend called these maybe the best sandwiches she's ever had. The Caribbean Roast Pork has a nice juicy flavor, great aioli and a sturdy enough bread to work with the juiciness, although it does eventually fall apart. I also loved the Steak Sandwich Price: Good price for the size of the sandwiches Service: Good service Parking: Street parking. We found a spot in front.

Yelp
We ordered the renowned Caribbean Roast and Chicken Breast Sandwiches. Having heard that Un Bien and Paseo are competitors, we decided to try both over the weekend. Un Bien's Caribbean Roast Sandwich was the clear winner--delicious and tender. In contrast, Paseo's meat-to-bread ratio wasn't balanced and as tender as Un Bien's. On the plus side, Paseo was a bit spicier, and their Chicken Sandwich outshone the Caribbean Roast. If I return, I'll definitely come back for the chicken!

Katherine R.

Yelp
Delicious and flavorful sandwiches! Comparable to un bien. Love their aioli options and their fries come out piping hot and crispy. For dessert we got the Bread pudding and it was very dry and difficult to eat more than a couple of bites but the sandwiches and fries made up for it. The service was a little bit off. We arrived more than an hour before closing but the cashier started stacking chairs and closing up before we even got our food. All while other customers were still coming in to eat. It's a smaller hole in the wall so it was quite noticeable. Other than that, it is a decent spot to grab a sandwich to go!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Do you really need one more 5 star yelp review to tell you to eat at Paseo? One of the best spots for a sandwich in the Seattle area.

Micaela W.

Yelp
First time trying a Caribbean sandwich and it was amazing, though definitely be prepared for some grease! I would ask for extra lettuce and I'm not sure if raw onion was an topping option but that would make it 11/10

Kyle W.

Yelp
This place hits the spot! I had this before as well as Un Bien, and you honestly can't go wrong with either. I got the signature Caribbean roast pork sandwich as well as the pork loin sandwich, and I'd recommend the former despite wanting to try something new with the pork loin. The meats are juicy and the garlic aioli and caramelized onions were excellent. I do wish the onions were caramelized further, but the whole sandwich was of great value (~$15 before tax) and very filling. We also got tostones which is fried plantains with garlic aioli which further enhanced our experience, but just the sandwich itself was more than enough for a meal.

Annie W.

Yelp
We got recommended this place by a friend and it did not disappoint! The outside of the shop is very small and unassuming but there is plenty of seating outside and damn are the sandwiches delicious!! We tried the Caribbean Roast Sandwich is their most popular sandwich. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and provided great service. The sandwich had meat that was melt in your mouth and the portion was very generous. We will definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches!

Tri P.

Yelp
Wow, there's not enough words to accurately describe what I experienced upon eating these two sandwiches but I will try my best. We got the sandwiches to go, and the service was decently quick (ordered ahead). They looked so good, we couldn't wait so we ate them in the car. The Caribbean Roast: Imagine sinking your teeth into tender, succulent pork shoulder that's been marinated to perfection, slow-roasted until it practically melts in your mouth. Contrast this richness with the zing of fresh cilantro, the kick of pickled jalapenos, the sweetness of caramelized onions. The baguette itself was wrapped so perfectly so all of the flavored melded together and formed such a harmonious experience. If I were on death row, this would be part of my last meal. Pork Belly Sandwich: If you thought pork belly couldn't get any better, think again. The succulent, juicy, tender pork belly, so rich and fatty and this was perfectly complemented by the cilantro, pickled jalapenos, caramelized onions, and romaine lettuce. Every bite is a revelation, and I was transported to a different realm. The meat is the star of the show, but it's the harmonious interplay of all the other ingredients that elevates this sandwich to legendary status. Honestly, this is the pinnacle of sandwiches. I don't think anything will ever top this. If you're ever in the vicinity of Paseo, do yourself a favor and experience these for yourself. Your taste buds will thank you. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Companion was in charge of choosing our lunch spot and picked Paseo based on their rave reviews and options. He and I were adequately hungry and excited to try their Caribbean food and flavors! The restaurant is colorful, casual, and cute. A few small tables inside plus some outside. Diners can eat in or take out--we did the former. We found service to be swift but not special. Place your order at the counter, wait for your name, and enjoy your food. Due to popularity, lines and wait times can vary (you can order online too). We went for what they got awards for, a Famous Caribbean Roast Sandwich. The sandwich is messy and juicy! If you don't eat it fast the bread gets soggy but the tender pork is packed to the brim and flavorful from the marinade. I couldn't taste much of the jalapeños, onions, or cilantro since the pork was overpowering. We also had the Cod Caribbean Plato, which provided a nice variety. The cod was mild, the black beans were surprisingly sweet, and the salad came with no dressing. It filled us up and we're glad we shared. For the prices, the portions are generous. Those visiting or living in Seattle have probably heard of Paseo. They have a few locations, the one in Fremont is quaint and the sandwiches are quite good. Find them off Fremont Ave N. with parking in the area.

Yelp
A Flavorful Adventure in Caribbean Cuisine! I was eager to try this spot, especially their renowned Caribbean roast, and it did not disappoint! The sandwich arrived quickly, and we enjoyed our meal in their cozy covered picnic area outside. Upon first glance, the sandwich's texture was very saucy, almost slimy, which gave me pause. However, the incredible flavor was evident from the first bite. There was a balance of spicy jalapeños and sweet pork. It made for a deliciously messy experience. While I wished for a bit more texture, the taste made up for it. Though, while it was tasty, it fell a bit short of being good value for $16 given its size. The shop itself is small and simple, the staff were friendly. We visited on a late Saturday afternoon and walked right in--no lines! Overall, I left satisfied and am eager to return and explore more of their menu.

Tanis L.

Yelp
I dined at Paseo when I was in high school in approximately 2010. I came with some of my fellow water polo players/swimmers. There was a short line when we arrived and we were able to find seating inside. I love onions, so I made sure to get a chicken breast sandwich with caramelized onions. There was not much seating inside, so the noise did not get too loud. Our wait was short. The food arrived warm and was tasty. The line grew much longer in the time we took dining.

Hope S.

Yelp
Ordered the Cuban roast online. Very convenient but a tee bit more pricey than its competitor. Order was fast. However, the pork was dry and lacking flavor that I was looking forward to. Not enough sauce as well. Felt a little bland. Unsure if it was this particular day or not.

Connie C.

Yelp
My husband dropped by for a quick lunch and split the Cuban Caribbean Roast sandwich. We are not normally sandwich people but our foodie friend who recently visited Seattle raved about this place. So glad we gave it a try because the sandwich was phenomenal! Pork was juicy and not dry and sandwich had the perfect ratio of ingredients. It's a small space with a few seating options and cool decorations. We will definitely be back!

Danica S.

Yelp
Honestly, I thought I was calling Un Bien because they both offer a killer Caribbean Roast Sammie. No, they are not related as I suspected, and the menu is vastly different. This location offers a moist and messy, finger licking sammie. The meat was overflowing and topped with sautéed onions and jalepeno. It has a kick from the sauce and jalapeño, but the meat is slightly sweet. So good! The other spot offers a toasted bread that adds depth in texture, and it's more saucy. They both are delicious. I was excited they also offer Jamaica which wasn't watered down as my iced melted. So good! Also grabbed an order of churros and tried my best to eat them all. So crunchy and filled with cream, oh and a side of caramel. I underestimated this spot and look forward to returning to try the many other items offered. It was spendy at around $16 for the sandwich, adding the drink and churros, I splurged $27 of lunch. It was worth it.

Henry M.

Yelp
I had the classic pork sandwich. It was delicious, incredibly juicy and tender and even though it was pretty pricy for a sandwich, it was great value because it was so big. I also had the black beans which were pretty good but not spectacular and the corn which was tasty but kind of small

Yelp
In planning for my trip to Seattle I spent a bunch of time looking for restaurants and coffee shops to try. Eater, Yelp, Serious Eats, all of that. Paseo was the one place that I labeled as a "must try". Their Caribbean Roast was voted as the best sandwich in America and Kenji Lopez-Alt strongly endorsed it, so yeah. He said he worked with the person who rated it as the best in America and trusts her, and that he really liked the sandwich a lot. Well, it didn't disappoint. I probably wouldn't put it in that "best in America" tier, but I still thought it was very, very good. The roast pork on the Caribbean Roast was excellent. Soft, juicy, meaty. They definitely didn't skimp on the meat, and that actually really added to the enjoyment. There's something nice about biting into a nice big hunk of pork. Mmm. The pork was complemented by this sort of sweet, creamy sauce. The sauce was really good. It wasn't overwhelming, but it added some additional creaminess and moisture. Something about the flavor was just perfect. The bread was fine but nothing special. It largely served to sop up all of the juiciness and sauce. I think better bread would have improved the sandwich though. The add ons got relegated to the background IMO. There was a piece of lettuce, and some pickled jalapanos in there, but I barely noticed them. Well, in a few bites I did. And they were good. The lettuce added a nice crisp and a very small hint of freshness that was a nice balance to the meatiness. And the japalano added a nice kick of spice. I wish I got more of that from the sandwich. Oh, there were onions too. I almost forgot. Like the other add ons, they were good when I caught them, but I mostly didn't notice the onions and wish I had noticed them more. The biggest issue I had with the sandwich was how messy it was. It basically falls apart as you eat it. To each their own, but personally I would definitely prefer to avoid that. To be clear though, despite these critiques, the sandwich was incredibly satisfying and awesome. One of the best sandwiches I've had in my life, and if I lived in Seattle I'd definitely be a regular here. The salad was fine but not great. The lettuce was crunchy but not the freshest. Grocery store stuff, probably. The dressing was something sorta creamy. And they dressed the salad with the dressing well, but it was on the subtle side. I would have preferred more flavor from the dressing. The candied nuts were nice but were too small. They kinda disappeared. I would have wanted some bigger chunks. The citrus fruits were ok. Pineapple and orange I think. A bit too much pineapple for me. It turned out to be notably too sweet. Not to the point of being overwhelming, but I'd definitely dial it back. Less sweetness, more crunchiness from the nuts and freshness from the lettuce.

Yelp
We experienced a mix bag here at Paseo, home to the infamous Famous Caribbean Roast. I have watched on the net how delicious their Caribbean Roast is from many vloggers and the like. The Fremont Ave. branch is situated in what I can think off as a quaint neighborhood in Seattle. It to a few minuities to find parking but eventually found one and off we went to Paseo. Paseo in Seattle is nice small store with just a few tables inside. Fortunately, we descended upon the store during off-peak hours so we were able to have a seat and our late lunch inside. Undoubtedly, I ordered their Caribbean Roast sandwich. The kids had a modified Caribbean Plate: steak as protein and minimal veggies as possible. Our order came in just a few minuities. First off, the Caribbean Roast sandwich is massive and looks very hearty. First bite: the pork is very tender and succulent. The caramelized onion compliments the pork and both impedes a sweet succulent flavor in your taste buds. The jalapenos, cilantro, and the bread itself rounds out the sandwich as a very solid one, 4 to 4.5 stars as I reckon. Our kids and my wife's Caribbean Plato with steak though was quite a letdown. Again, the plate looks hearty with ample servings of meat. The flavor though is very bland. I can think nothing other than copious amount of salt and seasoning every time I take a sample bite of their plates. In the end the good sandwich and the bland plate cancels out to be a 3-star review.

Laura V.

Yelp
As a person of Eastern European heritage, the offings of grilled pork and scallop sandwiches are irresistible. And they take pride in their great sandwiches. Been here many times. Some of my favorites. Pork shoulder sandwich, love the combination of cuban roast plato: pork shoulder, black beans, jasmine rice, corn cob, side salad of beets, cabbage, romaine. I liked the variety of tastes to try. The pork was delicious, To contrast the juicy meat, the sandwich also had pickled veggies, caramelized onions and lettuce to add crunchy aspect to the sandwich. Scallop sandwich was so good. I particularly love scallops and the sauce and sandwich had a nice combination of favors. Chicken thighs sandwich has some great tender and moist chicken. Red beans and rice had a likable smoky flavor. The seasonal grilled corn was excellent. This place offers bare bones ambience. You order and sit at shared table. This is not a bad thing, everyone there is in an elevated state of bliss eating their food. So a great crowd to enjoy your food with. Polite service is a plus, as they are very busy.

Becca S.

Yelp
Very good!! The sandwich was very good and flavorful, okay for the price, a bit expensive but good for the amount stuffed in. The fries are very good and flavor full, and a very big amount for the price. The onions are good, they aren't caramelized, they are just lightly browned. Will definitely be back though to try more items!!

Jake W.

Yelp
Used to come all the time when I lived in Seattle and will always make an effort to come when I'm back. Sandwiches are good for a decent price. Small shop, bus your own table, some tables are close to the dumpsters but overall clean. Casual and consistent Seattle spot to have a quick bite or take to go.

Harshmeet S.

Yelp
We went to try the famous Caribbean sandwich but it was not as good as we had expected. We tried Caribbean roast and chicken breast sandwich. Surprisingly the chicken breast sandwich was better. The meat in Caribbean roast was dry. The place is small has seating and the staff is great. The service was good and the order was ready in minutes. I personally liked un bein more than this place.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Cannot get orders correct, disappointing. Just requested to hold aioli/mayo, got home to see they didn't honor that.

Cyrille B.

Yelp
The sandwiches had really good flavors and were seasoned well. The pickled jalapeños added a good cut for the richness of the meat and cheese as well as a slight kick! We got the beef and swiss and the caribbean roast which were both solid sandwiches. Just wish we got a little more fries in the order which were really crispy and well seasoned!

Casey W.

Yelp
Honestly, hopes are up pretty high to see a place rate 5 stars and over 2000 reviews. Sadly this place fell short for me in flavor. The sandwhich was packed with meat, but the meat was bland and lacked any spices. The corn tasted much of mayonnaise and paprika and not much else. If I feel like I could have done a better job at home, I probably will not return.

Heci L.

Yelp
Friday afternoon in may, short line to order, not that many seats inside and outside. Prices are around $15.4 (with tax) per sandwich. Sandwiches are around maybe 8 inches long. Ordered 2 sandwiches and asked for meat to be placed in separate containers: smoking thighs and carribean roast. The latter tasted juicier and was the first to be finished. The chicken was dry. Sandwich had a good mix of ingredients, no ingredient outshined the other and I didn't feel anything lacked in quantity. Do not eat this while driving, it's a messy sandwich (mainly from the grilled onions and pickled jalapeño coming out) even without the meat soggying it up. Is it the tastiest sandwich I've ever had in America? No. Does the most popular sandwich: carribean roast taste good? Yes. Would I go again if I lived in the area? No. Don't crave this flavor profile. Worth the $15-25 one way Uber drive from space needle? No.

Thanh T.

Yelp
Man I can't believe I'm saying this but the food really let me down. Got the famous roast sandwich and a chicken and rice plate. The bread was soaked and so soggy which was expected...but still. Meat was bland and kind of dry. I was so surprised. The chicken for the rice plate was also very dry, seasoning was a bit better than the sandwich. We did get a side of fries, and those were actually super gooood! Perfevt crunch and fluffiness inside and great seasoning. I pretty much only ate the fries and the rest of my group ate the rest of the other dishes. The rest of my group seemed to like the food at least a bit more than me, so it might just be me. But I wouldn't go all the way out to Fremont again next time I'm in town just for the sandwich.

Ricky K.

Yelp
Paseo is definitely a place that was on my bucket list when I was in Seattle. And I'm really glad I got a chance to eat some when I was there. They're pretty much well known for their Award Winning Carribean Roast Sandwich, which is like $14, and for sure I needed to try it out. I ordered it to go, and they were pretty much ready within like 5 minutes which was really fast. I loved the different toppings and textures that the sandwich has, and it honestly looked super satisfyingly tasty when you eat it fresh. I thought everything overall was pretty good and the pork was really tender. My only thing is that I wish the meat was seasoned a bit more and I would of felt like this would been a bigger hit for me. If I'm back, I'll definitely try the other sandwiches out from the menu. But nonetheless, it was a great sandwich overall and I would recommend you come to try this place out in the International District!

Cindy Z.

Yelp
Paseo is one of the most hyped and popular restaurants in Seattle outside of Pike Place Market, so I had to see what it was all about. When I arrived on a Saturday evening, it wasn't busy and I got my order within 5 minutes to-go. I got the infamous Caribbean Roast Sandwich ($13.95). It was all neatly wrapped and stuffed inside with lots of meat and some lettuce, onions, and jalapeños for crunch and contrast. While the presentation was nice, the sandwich was just okay overall. It's filling and good, but the meat lacked flavor. I'm not too sure what the hype is all about. It's good if you're in the area looking for a meal, but nothing I'd go out of the way for.

Julia K.

Yelp
Amazing food and great place for lunch! We stopped because we needed something for lunch and it turned out to be an amazing restaurant. Please try the fries those were definitely my highlight because of the crunch but extra spices!! Service was great and ambiance is chill and a great hangout spot! I can highly recommend this place!

DeAnna L.

Yelp
This place is an institution. Quick service, consistently craveable sandwiches, salsas, and bowls. Whenever we need some good hangover food, this is where we go!

Grace N.

Yelp
We love this place so much that it's now a ritual for us after the monthly Zoo visit. The sandwiches are packed with flavor and grease (in a good way)!

Joan A.

Yelp
Still delicious after all these years! One of our favorite things about Seattle is the Grilled Pork Sandwich. Legendary!

Arthur T.

Yelp
Swung by Paseo for a quick lunch. We shared: -carribean roast $12.95: flavors were there, could use more meat -carribean fries $6: mayo was good, and they give A LOT of fries Food did take a long time to come out. Even when I grabbed our food, the sandwich was only lukewarm, when I was expecting it to be pretty hot. Fries were hot. They have some seating inside and outside. Street parking is hit or miss. Luckily we were able to find parking right outside.

Linn P.

Yelp
Soo my fiancé loved the number 1 sub - Caribbean sub. I did not taste anything carribean or jerk to it. It was super super greasy and everything kept falling out at each bite. It is a big hefty sub for $15 with thick pork cuts and grilled onion. Would I get it again, no. But my fiancé would get it again.

Khadij A.

Yelp
Paseo was one of my favorite spots and high recommendations in Seattle. Although their prices have increased over the years, the food remained top notch. However I was a bit disappointed by my last visit. We got alaskan cod sandwich, west Caribbean bowl, rice and beans trio, yuca fries, and side nachos. The rice and beans were honestly kind of sad looking, mediocre in taste, and not worth $13. The sandwich lived up to its expectation but the bread was honestly pretty thick and not in proportion with the meat. what blew my away was the size of the bowl we got. It was also really flavorful and good. Two people could easily have eaten that. The yuca fries were really good but only came with a handful, not enough to share. Seems like shrink flation in effect for some dishes. you really got to make sure you're getting the best bang for your buck here as not all their dishes are consistent. There's only a few tables available to eat at inside and street parking which can get competitive.

Long K.

Yelp
This place is definitely a Seattle staple with its delicious sandwiches. Of course their Caribbean Roast is the best seller, being packed with dripping meat and carmelized onions. I regretted changing up my recent order to the Steak and Swiss sandwich, as the amount of meat come nowhere close to their best seller, making the sandwich appear smaller, hence not worth the value. I'm happy to see they offer yuca fries which definitely rounded out the meal at least. It's definitely best to visit off times, since I made the mistake of a peak lunch visit. The wait time was at least 35+ mins for a takeout order since it seemed the back kitchen was a mess forgetting items and doing other customer's (and mine also) orders incorrectly, adding to the wait. Hindsight, I probably should have done an online order in advance, but it was a spur of the moment visit just being in the area for once.

Yelp
Tasty, messy sandwiches. Yummy yucca fries. Great Happy Hour specials like tostones and churros. Indoor or outdoor seating. Counter service. Recommend.

Yelp
Was hyped to be better than Un Bien and did not hit that mark. The meat wasn't super flavorful and the filling to bread ratio leaned more bready.

Yelp
The food is overpriced, they don't wait on you yet, they turn the machine for you to leave them a tip but, not even once did they ask if we needed anything else in addition, the place is FREEZING!!!!!! Never going back again.

Yelp
Heard lots of good things about this place so I knew I had to grab a bite here before I left Seattle. Cute little sandwich shop in Fremont with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Caribbean roast sandwich and it tasted so good! The meat was so flavorful and juicy I was not expecting that at all. The sauce also was a great addition to the sandwich as well as the jalapeños. I do wish there was a bit more vegetables in there and the bread was a bit soggy but it didn't take away from how amazing the meat was. Service was quick and friendly too.

Yelp
Love this place! Can't go wrong. Great food for a great price! Seattle staple. They have vegetarian options (tofu) etc if needed. Their famous Caribbean roast sandwich is rated one of the best sandwiches in America. The staff is friendly and upbeat! Love the colorful environment. Parking is street parking and can be tricky but well worth it. If you're going to eat your way through Seattle, you've got to try this place!

Yelp
I had really high expectations for the sandwiches here after hearing about it from a friend and reading the reviews. The roasted pork was delicious. However, the bread took away from all the good stuff inside. - Paseo Press - the roasted pork was delicious but the bread was too thick and it was saucy causing everything to slide out. The bread also wasn't very soft so it didn't tear apart easily when taking a bite. - Grilled Pork - good but I preferred the roasted pork and it has the same bread issue - Caribbean fries - hot, crispy, and deliciously seasoned. - Tostones - pretty good but I couldn't eat more than 1. The in-store menu was not working when we went so we had to order based on their website photos. It would have been helpful for newcomers like us if there was a description of each sandwich so we knew what was inside and the differences. The neighborhood looked cute and it was easy to find. There is limited seating inside along with outdoor tables. Service was fine.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from Paseo and got the Tofu Delight and Onion Obsession Sandwiches, plus some yucca fries and tostones. It was delicious and I'm so grateful for the vegetarian options! I'd probably skip the tostones next time. I really wanted to try the famous roasted corn but it wasn't an option on online ordering for some reason. Maybe next time!

Yelp
Five stars each and every time I come here. Sandwiches made fast. Staff is very friendly. I'm not in the area as much anymore but I finally got to swing by on Saturday. Can't wait to back!
