The 12 Best Restaurants In Tulum - Tulum - The Infatuation

"Do you need to hide from all the new friends you made at Gitano? Head to Pasha, a great Mediterranean restaurant downtown that’s perfect for a relaxed dinner away from the hotel zone. Start with the meze before moving up to the heartier platters, kebabs, or pastas, like the beef or vegetarian musakka. Plan to order and share as much as possible, and take the leftovers back to your Airbnb." - barbara gutierrez, rianne shlebak

We’ve been regulars at Pasha Mediterranean Restaurant for a while now. One of the highlights we always look forward to is their complimentary pita naan bread served with za’atar a perfect start to the meal. On our latest visit, we tried the Chicken Shawarma Plate and the Fish Naanwich. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and satisfying, as expected. The fish naanwich was a first time for me, and while the taste didn’t quite match my preferences beause we never tried thier fish. My husband kindly swapped plates with me, and we both ended up enjoying our meals. Overall, Pasha offers a welcoming atmosphere and consistently good food. Even when a dish doesn’t hit the mark for us personally, the experience remains positive. Definitely worth visiting if you're craving Mediterranean cuisine.

One of the BEST places to eat in San Antonio! Pasha has an amazing atmosphere and the service is always great! The food is always delicious. It’s also next to some excellent desert places, definitely try this restaurant if you haven’t already! Try the beef or chicken shawarma or dolma.

I drove two hours from Austin to San Antonio, and let me just say—it was so worth it thanks to Ahmed and the amazing team at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, Ahmed went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. His customer service was outstanding—attentive, kind, and thoughtful in every detail. He made us feel truly welcomed and valued, and he made sure everything was just right. But it wasn’t just Ahmed—the entire staff was warm, helpful, and full of positive energy. You could feel the teamwork and genuine care from everyone around us. It made a huge difference, and it honestly made my Eid celebration feel incredibly special. Thank you to Ahmed and the whole team for turning our long trip into a beautiful and memorable experience. You all made our day! Can’t wait to come back.

By far one of the best places I have eaten in all of Texas. This includes DFW metro, Houston, and El Paso. The food here was authentic Persian food bursting with flavor. The staff was efficient, fast, and very kind and friendly. I highly recommend this stop for anyone looking for healthy, authentic Persian food. Worth visiting.

Kebabs are good at this place but no so much stews. They are left over and don’t taste good at all. Service is good. Our server was Moein and very nice and friendly person. If you go just order from kebab selection.

Visiting from Seattle, we didn't know what to expect going for Mediterranean cuisine in Texas...and how impressed we were. The food, tea(s), naan bread, and atmosphere make Pasha a new annual tradition for our family gatherings. Yuliana also gets a big thumbs up for the service and kindness.

Yelp
Firstly, 10/10 meal, 12/10 service for those wondering. Came here for a to go order & my goodness, I felt so welcomed. To the kind manager & the nice fella that wears white glasses, big shout out to you guys. Both offered me a drink while working on my order.(Manager's name was Anderson I believe? Sorry if wrong) Chicken Kabob Plate w/ Rice - Chicken, veggies & rice were both moist, paired well w/ the spices & seasonings. Was surprised by how much rice they give for a takeout order. My personal fav- the Gyro plate. Tons of delicious meat, & by golly I swear by it that this is the best Medi. Restaurant in SATX if not all of TX. OH. ALSO. THAT SALAD DRESSING IS BOMB. VEGGIE Sambusa - we originally wanted Beef, they were sold out & offered to remove it (+ pts for asking if we wanted veggie or cancel that order) is really good. Hummus(part of my gyro plate) - You can tell they care about their work. Paired just right w/ the fresh bread that each meal gets. Delicious. It tasted fresh and shows dividends as this place is always busy alll week through all business hours. The only thing we wish we got in our order was the oil that is normally served w/ the bread. The restaurant had a homie vibe w/ not much decor but the design still makes you feel like you're in the Mediterranean! Plenty of seating. We loved our food and will definitely be back. Thank you guys for the awesome first experience

Yelp
For an authentic Mediterranean experience, the original Pasha on Wurzbach is the one to come try. We have been to the Stone Oak location, but this one tastes more like what we had in our travels. Perhaps they get their spices from the next door market Ali Baba, which sells many of the same spices they use in their dishes. Tonight we went with the Greek Moussaka and the Chicken Shawarma. Both were delicious and we were served huge portions. The Lamb Chops and Cornish hens were amazing, too in our past outings. If you are less adventurous in your choices, then you can go with the gyro which is a local favorite. I would encourage you to venture out of your comfort zone and go more exotic. Service has always been good and friendly, so it makes for a pleasant evening. This location is darker and not as nice on the inside as the Stone Oak restaurant, but it has the one thing that no other Pasha restaurant has, that is a short walk to the Baklovah Bakery. Don't know of a better way to wind down a long week than the red velvet cookie and cheesecake available right across the parking lot.

Yelp
Funny how I drive to a restaurant and parked there and when I went inside I stood alone with no host so I eventually walked out and went into this place unexpectedly. Well I am so so glad I came here. The server was super nice and the food was really good too. It's a nice place and you can tell it's good bc I had late lunch yet the place was still filled up with people. This is clearly a loved place by people that live near here and now loved by others like me that are just in town for work stuff. This is a great place.

Yelp
Device this time was t the best, the young lady was off in Lala land. We could never get her attention when we needed something. Luckily another gentleman stepped in he was from Brazil, and super nice. We ordered more food to go and would have rather the tip go to him. So I made a separate transaction. It unfortunate because service here is normally great. However, the food was on point as always.

Yelp
I've been here several time and I recommend this place. The staff is very attentive and help with items on the menue. Very clean and plenty of parking.

Yelp
Food was just so so but great service. The Ghaymeh was bland and no sour lemon. It had a lot of cinnamon. My friends koobideh was also just ok. This used to be authentic Persian but has been Americanized and also mixed with other cuisines. They serve hummus with the koobideh... Persians don't eat hummus and a regular salad.. Persians eat herbs and specific salads such as Shirazi. It was not a terrible experience but the food is not what it used to be .

Yelp
10/10 experience every time I eat here!! The food is fresh, flavorful, and the people are so friendly. They brought out a new goat cheese and hot honey dip to try out -- amazing. This is seriously one of the best places in SA for a home cooked meal.

Yelp
In the past, our family absolutely loved Pasha. Last night, we decided to use Uber Eats to order Pasha to-go last night. First, the Baba Ghannojj was the worse I've had. My spouse said it tasted like it came out of a can. While it wasn't that bad for me, it was missing the roasted taste that the menu description boast. Second, the naan was significantly different. It looked and felt like pre-packaged naan and missed all of the hallmarks of freshly made naan - like the huge burn marks in certain spots and the small bits of parsley and cilantro. I had ordered extra because of what I thought I was going to receive, yet tonight's naan looked like oversized pre-packed tortillas. It also didn't come with the oil dip and spices. I'm not sure it would have helped much, yet it was still missing. Were used to getting butter with our meal to add to the rice, and this was another thing missing. My Pasha Bowl was okay, yet I should have ordered the Koobideh Kabob like I usually do, yet my spouse did an it was missing the grilled mushrooms. It only had the bell pepper and tomato. Because of all the missing and changed items, we're definitely not ordering Pasha from Uber Eats. We're on the fence as to whether we'd venture back in person since we were so disappointed.

Yelp
What's happening Pasha? Crazy increase in prices, poorer quality food, taking away good naan for gross not too sure what was. It's shaped like naan but tastes like paper. No feta cheese in the oil and spices anymore. Cheese is now on the menu for $8 served with olives as an appetizer? The dish I used to get was 9.99 and now it's 16.99 with less on it. You took away the humus. Your amazing salad dressing is now a watery white dressing that has no flavor. I'm so sad and sorry you've come to this. Cheap isn't the way to go.

Yelp
It's been a few years since I originally reviewed Pasha. They deserve a fresh review, and I must say, an additional star. Glad to see the health score was much higher than the last time. We arrived for lunch and were seated promptly. The food came out rapidly considering the crowd, and was tasty. Today, I opted for a Naan-wich of chicken shawarma and was surprised. That meal is absolutely ginormous for what you pay, although I found the chicken a tad bland. Overall: I'd recommend it ! My wife also expressed contentment with her meal. My only complaint was that our server was not the best. She took our order, but did not deliver our food and failed to check on us at all throughout our meal. At one point, my wife had to leave the table and ask someone else to get something she wanted. We literally didn't see our waitress again until she brought the bill... Over all, I recommend for a filling, well priced lunch, but hope you get more attentive service.

Yelp
I was delighted to eat at Pasha today. I had the gyro "naan which" with cranberry rice. When I walked in the smells delighted me and tantalized my appetite. Even when I looked at the menu the smells wafted my way...freshness. Our waitress lit up the room with her smile and her joyful demeanor. Within minutes we were dipping our hot naan in olive oil. When I got my food I knew I ordered the right thing! What I loved most about the food is the fresh ingredients. Every flavor came out. The onions were crunchy, the tzatziki sauce was the perfect amount, and all of it brought out the joy of flavor of the gyro. My cranberry rice had plump pieces of cranberry! All said and done I recommend this restaurant. Enjoy!

Yelp
Unfortunately the food quality has degraded, specifically the Koobideh Kabob Plate. The meat is definitely different. Its unfortunate because this was our family's favorite restaurant. Hopefully yelp doesn't remove this post.

Yelp
Everytime we visit San Antonio we make it a point to visit Pasha and every single time it's amazing. Our server Ali was especially great during this visit & was so accomidating; he even brough the kids complimentary baklava and tea for the table at the end! The food of course was also incredible as always, I tried the cornish gamehen and it was to die for.

Lydia R.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in Pasha! This has been a go to restaurant and after today it will not be. The food was awful. The meat was undercooked, hummus was dry and not creamy, the basmati rice had no flavor, the tabbouleh had no taste, dipping sauce had half a jar of spices with no olive oil or feta cheese. I know, outrageous! Bye-bye Pasha. We are giving 2 stars since our server was doing the best he could.
google avatar

Lillian S.

Yelp
It's been years since I've eaten at Pasha. I ordered the Gyro plate and sides of fries and Lentil rice. Everything was excellent except for the salad that came with the Gyro plate. I thought it was going to be more of a Greek salad. It was a very plain, tasteless side salad. The bread, as always, was excellent. The staff person I interacted with was great! I'll be back for sure. I'll sub out the salad next time. 4.5 stars!
google avatar

Laurie N.

Yelp
Food was delightful. Plus they also have Baklovah pastries. If you know, you know! The plates are well served. The lamb chops were juicy. The establishment could use an interior aesthetic upgrade. Prices are very reasonable. The waiter was patient with us and checked up on us frequently.
google avatar

Joseph C.

Yelp
I received my food fast but it was cold. Portions were much smaller than before. Server was rude. She rushed me and my friend and made a comment,"What's the hold up, are we playing Rock, Paper, Scissors!?" She just handed us our tickets and made this comment just a few seconds after. I used to be a regular customer but since I treated like this, I will Not be returning to this location. It was the Blanco 1207 North Loop 1604 West location.

Andy H.

Yelp
The past r three times I placed a to go order I got a hard and barely warm bread. Wasn't always like that. If I'm paying almost a hundred dollars for a few entrees i tink I should get decent edible bread wouldn't you say? Let's pretend we care ppl, tanks
google avatar

Hassan M.

Yelp
Worst customer service. We walked in and they panicked after seeing a large group. Told us that half the menu isn't halal. Ridiculous staff ... no wonder they on their downfall... never coming again.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
I am so glad I discovered this place! We had a wonderful dining experience- our waiter was attentive and brought things out to us without us having to ask. The food was amazing! Everything was reasonably priced. Our food came out promptly. The restaurant itself was very clean. Will be back to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Travis H.

Yelp
Pasha used to be my favorite restaurant. Their food quality has gone down. They no longer put feta in the naan dipping sauce. They may have changed the flour to a cheaper one as it's no longer fluffy. It tastes off too. I'd rather them increase prices and have good quality ingredients.
google avatar

Brenda G.

Yelp
Lunch at this awesome place today. Here's some pics of what we had. All their food was delicious. The beef plate was extremely tender and tasty. The chicken was a bit bland today. Their rice portions are always plentiful. Their bread is the best here. The Dolma appetizer is a must try. The service is ok, depends on the server.
google avatar

Renee F.

Yelp
Best service and delicious food. Our waiter was excellent. He was absolutely fantastic.. we didn't even have to ask for anything. He was in top of it! The gyro plate was delicious. I totally recommend Pashas on Wurzbach.
google avatar

Abran S.

Yelp
Had been told of this place many a times, but never came until recently. And BOY was I missing out. The meats are cooked to perfection, the flavors of the rice and seasonings mesh up well. The naan with garlic and sea sings dip is amazing too. I cannot believe I had been neglecting trying this place for years. The service was not bad, server could've been better, but nothing to write home about. The interior was good and inviting wasn't dark like olive gardens interiors, it was well lit up. Overall, I would come back again, the seasoned beef and naan were the stars for me.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
The tap water taste just like dirt. My food was sitting waiting to be served and the tall waiter was talking over my food. This is very rude. The naan has to much leftover flour on it after cooked. The Olive oil tastes cheap.

Ashley M.

Yelp
After my mom had a hospital stay we stopped by Pasha to set her up for the week of recovery. Everything was fresh. We got it to go and the staff was efficient and made sure we had everything. I got the gyro. I love that so much! The meat is tender and flavorful. The pita bread was delicious. After a hectic week, Pasha brought the comfort we needed. Thank you Pasha!
google avatar

Cara M.

Yelp
I have eaten in at several Pasha locations and the food has always been great. I decided to order online a shawarma plate to go. Everything tasted good except for the salad. It was brown & wilted. It looked like it was prepared well before that day & they didn't look at it after it was in the container. I was very disappointed because they have always had fresh salad. For that reason I won't be doing to go orders from them.

Claudia B.

Yelp
Love the food at Pasha. We frequent the one in Selma across from Olympia. Always good service.
google avatar

Kelley L.

Yelp
I was a regular for years. I'd eaten there so many years. Before management changed over time, food tasted a little better. And the atmosphere was a lot different. I still hold memories of how the restaurant used to be. Back in 2011. Thank you to the line chef Sandra, thank you for your guidance, and looking out for me making sure I always knew someone cared. Sandra never not noticed when I was there, and she always made sure I knew my presence was always welcomed in this world.
google avatar

Jo-jo H.

Yelp
Unfortunately this place was a disappointment. I ordered the French Lamb chops. It was maybe one of the more expensive meals but the lamb chops were too well done despite asking for them to be medium. Additionally, they just did not have any flavor. I ate the mushroom that came with it and that had more taste than the chops. The dill rice was underwhelming as well. Lastly, service was not great. My waitress never followed up with me during my meal nor did she get the cues when I stared right at her when she walked by. It was not even that busy in there. I'm thinking she just needs to know how to manage multi-tasking. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it fell short.

Yelp
Had a small gathering of 7 during Easter and ordered Pasha for lunch. Everything was packed well, food was hot, and they even provided serving spoons and thongs! The food tasted great and the meal was a hit with friends and family. THANK YOU!

Kulsoom A.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience. Great food, great service. Was immediately seated and our server, Daniel, came over to get us started with bread /dipping oil for the table. We had some questions about the menu and Dan gave great recommendations and knew the menu well. We ordered lamb chops and a beef combo platter and both came out sizzling. Daniel had asked our cooked preference and all the meat was perfect medium-rare, per our request. The pasha potatoes were also superb. Will be coming back here very soon!
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
The food was really amazing. We used to go to the Culebra Rd but this restaurant was way better especially their naan bread for appetizer was really good. The service was enough and even the restaurant was packed we think they were still able to handle it pretty well. The place was huge and can cater big groups. The lighting was also good.
google avatar

Jo M.

Yelp
Pasha remains one of my favorite places for the joojeh, hummus, berry basmati rice, grilled vegetables, dolmas, sheesh tawook, gyro, and rose tea. The only ding was they changed the naan. It was less fluffy and less flavorful, and more of a thinner almost undercooked or doughy like texture. But everything else was delicious. Tips: *Pasha is still very popular. Go early. Otherwise, there will be a wait. *$4.95 cork fee if you take your own wine. Assume you will have to open your own bottle of wine, and take a wine opener.
google avatar

Tiffanie H.

Yelp
Went with my grandma & the restaurant was decently filled but there was no wait for a table. We were seated, I got a rose water tea & she ordered a raspberry tea, both amazing! No long wait for our food and very generous portions. We both left with some to take home. The waiter was a little off to us but overall the experience was pleasant.
google avatar

Yelp
Very busy place. Parking lot full. Nice dinning area. Beautiful lanterns. Good service.,
google avatar

Yelp
Good was amazing. Everything tasted fresh from the naan bread and oil appetizer to the chicken. Plenty of options and substitutions if you don't like something your plate comes with. I recommend the pasha bowl and tailor to your liking!

Yelp
Wonderful, tender and well seasoned.Chicken robust with flavor. Marvelous and huge said consisting of an array of finely chopped vegetables--tomato, onion, Cucumber,'onion, cilantro in a Light oily balsamic dressing--

Yelp
This place was nice and spacious. We were a group of 5 so we were seated at a large round table. The waiter was attentive and brought us bread and oil. I ended up ordering the gyro plate. It was HUGE. I had so much meat left that I had it for dinner the next day. It came with a side of hummus and a large salad. I could not get enough of the hummus, so delicious. My boyfriend got the beef shawarma plate with the same sides. Can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
I am extremely disappointed with the service we received on June 28th, 2025. Our party of 29 was refused service after a long day with children at Sea World. Being turned away like that was not only inconvenient but also embarrassing. We were told that the food is NOT halal and we should find another place to eat. SUCH UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR BY A FOOD SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE. Old management was welcoming and food was delicious. I am 100% sure food is just as awful as the new management. Extremely Disappointed NEVER RETURNING NOR RECOMMENDING ANYONE TO COME TO THIS AWFUL PLACE.

Susan D.

Yelp
This was really terrible today . Used to be soooooo good, but gone way downhill. Baba ganouch was not good at all, but even worse when I got the "naan". Not naan at all, but old crusty tortillas with too much flour, shaped oblong to fool people. Then, the kitchen crew........so close within earshot when one tells the other "F€%# You"! I get it Mexican crew, but remember customers pay your wage. If that wasn't enough of a taqueria, go to the bathroom. Will transport you to border town. Honestly I felt sick and didn't want to eat after that. So many workers in the kitchen and managers, but no one for the restrooms. Clogged toilets and used paper everywhere..........seriously.........looks like another shutdown from people getting sick

Yelp
Hear me out - the food and service at Pasha are ALWAYS wonderful. I love eating here. Yesterday, I had a very unusual experience that I wanted to share. My elderly father was in a car accident near Pasha. He stumbled into the restaurant, and the manager on duty, Korbin, noticed that my father seemed a bit confused. Sensing something wasn't right, Korbin took the time to figure out how he could help. He brought my dad a plate of food and some hot tea, while paramedics tended to his bleeding arm. My father had forgotten his cellphone at home and didn't know any phone numbers to contact me or my mother. Korbin, using my dad's last name, went above and beyond to track me down. He reached out to me on every channel possible. I received DMs, voicemails, and notifications from several directions. It took me a moment to understand what was happening, but I finally spoke with Korbin, who is perhaps one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. He informed me that my father was OK but needed to be picked up, as his car had been towed. My mother was able to pick up my father, and though he's a little banged up, he's home and being cared for. It was a scary time for me and my family, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for the compassion and care that the wonderful people at Pasha, especially Korbin, showed my father. Thank you, Korbin, and thank you, Pasha Mediterranean Grill!

Yelp
The food was good! I got the lamb kabob and it was delicious; an amazing cut of lamb and seasoned well. You get to choose how well done you want it, so I asked for medium and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The lentil rice was surprisingly delicious as well and it was buttery tasting with lots of flavor. If I go back, I'll probably get the naan sandwiches because they seemed to be large portions at a very good price ($10.99) while the lamb kabobs were $19.99. Service was also great! A friend ordered a soup and they forgot it, but they gave him one to-go free of charge. You also get 10% off if you check-in on Yelp!

Yelp
the food is delicious and it's a nice ambiance as well! They greet you with some free bread and olive oil for dipping, complimented with zaatar and feta in the oil to boost the flavor. For appetizer I ordered baba gaboush bc my baby likes that dip. We got the combo kabeb plate and bought extra chicken taewook a la carte, and the lamb shank stew. Wow, the flavor of the lamb shank was next level!! It's so much food as well, I made 3 meals out of the lamb shank! It came with dill rice mixed with Lima beans, I've never had this type of combo of flavors before but I really liked it! The combo grill plate came in 3 plates because it was just so much food. It also came sizzling on the hot plate along with some charred vegetables, which were also so juicy and yummy! Overall it was about $75 but we had food for at least 3 meals. Check into Yelp for 10% off! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Was wanting to eat falafel, hummus and tabbouleh and drove around a bit till I found Pasha. Thanks to Yelp reviews, I was convinced this was it! Was seated very promptly and within 5 minutes had fresh lavash and dip, and refreshments. Took me a while to order because most dishes were great but I wanted these specific items. I was able to customize my order to have those three; falafel, tabbouleh and garlic hummus. Dish came out fresh and hot! Everything was delicious! Server was very attentive and was able to pay at my table after my service. Server offered to get me fresh warm lavash, but I was good with it, and didn't want the one I had to go to waste. It was huge! Couldn't finish it even then, but it went great with the hummus. There was music going and the place was packed for a Tuesday, so it was buzzing with chatter. Overall great service and food!

Yelp
This place used to be good, was it sold or under new management?. . Ordered food to go $70+ and it was so very disappointing. I noticed that the bags were stapled shut, was that so I couldn't see how dried out the "beef?" Was until I got home? It was inedible,. "food" didn't seem fresh. I should have known something was wrong when the place was empty. . . . This will be the last time.
