This Pasquale’s (not affiliated with Pasquales in Coral Springs/Coconut Creek/Pembroke Pines) is quaint, with only a few tables and a simple menu. However, a shrine of a politician smacks you in the face as you enter the restaurant, which is off-putting and unnecessarily passive-aggressive. Since it's the first thing I noticed before I had a chance to see the menu or taste the food, readers of this review hear about this first. I am not saying they can’t or shouldn’t, or I'm offended, but I don't typically return to businesses that push politics from either side. We’re one country; all that does is tear us in two.
Despite this, the staff was friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome.
Our meal started with a side house salad, which was, unfortunately, a letdown. It consisted of a scant serving of flavorless iceberg lettuce, a single slice of cucumber, one slice of tomato, and a shitton of onions. The dressing was generic, bottled, and overly sweet. 1 of 5 Stars
They served garlic knots for a table, but unfortunately, they were nearly raw in the center, were swimming in flavorless oil, and dusted in Parmesan-flavored cellulose. Happily, the dough tasted good. 2 of 5 Stars.
The Chicken Parmesan was well-seasoned, properly battered, and fried tender. However, it was over-sauced. The angel hair pasta was not drained properly, making the dish watery. The tomato sauce tasted overcooked. 3 of 5 Stars
The Chicken Francese was properly battered and fried tender. However, the sauce was gluey, lumpy, and had an offensive amount of lemon. The chicken and angel hair pasta portion was generous, but the sauce made it difficult to eat. 2 of 5 Stars.
We did not have any appetizers, beverages, or desserts.
Our experience at Pasquale’s was mixed. We took home the leftover pasta and garlic knots to test it for reheating, but our initial impressions were not particularly favorable.
I never tell anyone who they should or should not politically/professionally/personally support; however, I don’t want to be told that either.
Overall, the food and service were okay, but not okay enough for us to return. 2 of 5 Stars.
