A charming cafe-patisserie often credited as the nation’s first fully plant-based French patisserie. Axios spotlighted it for delicate pastries and espresso; locals come for croissants, cakes, and an easygoing Maven District vibe.

Google
An absolute highlight to my SLC trip! The best matcha latte. And the best spinach hand pie I’ve ever had. I took 2 home. Don’t pass this place up it’s incredible! ….and in terms of prices, it’s less than what we pay in San Diego, so I was thrilled. And happy to see employees getting a fair payday with their automatic service charge. Passion Flour is worth more than 5 stars!!

Everything is fantastic about this place. You can see the mountain if you dine-in by the window. The Barista was slow and mindful while preparing drinks and platting your food even in rush — which will surely add some calmness and peace to your day. It’s rare to find excellent coffee in a 100% vegan cafe — but Passion Flour serves great coffee, I’m a coffee professional — I can instantly tell how much care that they put in crafting each of their coffee beverages — I’m sure they dial their espressos every morning for that perfect result. The croissants and macarons are the best — can’t tell it’s plant based — so real and so good. The vibe is gentle and calming with pleasant music that will warm your heart and ears. Super bright with lots of indoor plants and great minimalist decor. If I can give more than 5 stars — I would give! Highly recommend visiting every day.

Our first stop after landing in SLC, passion flour is amazing! Delicious pastries and the smoked tofu Benedict was incredible.

Google
Awesome spot for vegan eats. Staff were helpful and friendly. Recommend the breakfast bomb warmed up

Google
Probably more like a 3 star experience but as a vegan I’d rather not give less than 4. The French dip was the star of the show for us and the croissants were amazing. I just felt like the customer service was bad. The tall brunette made me feel like a nuisance. They automatically charge 18% and i just automatically hit no tip and tipped cash, not realizing I’d already tipped automatically. When i realized and asked the gal if i could take back my cash tip (not wanting to just start grabbing money out of their tip jar without explaining) she told me to wait a minute and then proceeded to ignore me for 5 minutes. I already felt awkward asking for it back so yeah that just made it feel more awkward but like im not going to tip 18% and then tip $10 cash on top of that. Customer service is important. I own a vegan food truck so i know how important it is. Anyway, i hope y’all succeed and keep doing what you’re doing cause the concept is great and we need more vegan places like this!

Google
So amazing! I thought they were just a regular bakery but came to find out it's fully vegan. I'm vegetarian + a huge croissant connoisseur with very particular tastes (I tried croissants at many of the famous bakeries in France). A croissant from this spot could easily pass as one made with real butter! It was delicious with all the layers and that lovely, airy crunch we all love. Their cold brew was also great. Haven't tried anything else yet but I will be back.

Google
Genuinely everything I had blew me away. Sooo good!!! 🥰 I highly recommend their London fog, breakfast potatoes, and pistachio croissant. Staff was friendly & seemed happy to be there

Google
This was our worst experience in Salt Lake City. The service at this location is terrible. We ordered two croissants and the guy at the cashier asked if we want them warmed up, we said yes, and he put them in the microwave, and completely forgot about them. In ten minutes or so we reminded him, and he brought them, actually throwing them at the table. Those ham and cheese croissants were, of course, cold and even somewhat stale. Gunpowder tea was just basic green tea. Macchiato coffee was okay though. This place has an awful price to quality ratio.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been here, and I forgot how great this café is. I stopped by after a Pilates class with a few friends, and it wasn't too busy on a Saturday morning. They have a lot of baked goods to grab and go, along with a good amount of seating. It was clean, sunny, and cozy inside! We ordered the ham and cheese croissant, pistachio croissant, and an orange vanilla cold brew. The ham and cheese was okay, but I loved the pistachio croissant more. It was soft with the perfect amount of pistachio flavor. The star for me was the cold brew; it tasted like an orange creamsicle, which is great for summer! Overall, a great café in the Maven District!
google avatar

Trang D.

Yelp
Came here with 2 friends after a Pilates session! The service was sweet and nice, the pastries blew our minds. We didn't expect to love the pistachio croissant as much as we did! It was filled inside and not just brushed on top! The drinks we got were also surprisingly yummy as well. The banana tart was also good too! This place is completely GF! The orange vanilla cold brew was so refreshing! The ambiance was very welcoming.

Yelp
A must for vegans and absolutely non-vegans too!! Best savory pastries I've ever had. I'm from San Diego and we have amazing vegan pastries but the selection here is on point! Quality, A+, taste A+, texture...buttery and flaky! Don't miss the spinach and ricotta hand pie. It's divine. Taking 2 more to go!

Yelp
For some time now, we've been swinging by Passion Flour whenever we're in the Maven district to pick up a snack -- they have the absolute BEST sweets, anywhere, and they're all vegan. Until yesterday, however, we had never tried their breakfast menu. My wife and I both had their smoked benedict, and we were absolutely blown away. The biscuit was amazing, and the smoked tofu to die for. The benedict also had some vegan ham, spinach leaves, grilled tomato, and of course the requisite sauce; it was an artistic presentation, and came with a generous helping of potatoes. Service was friendly and easy-going, and the restaurant itself cozy and comfortable. Sorry, everyone else; Passion Flour is now our go-to breakfast place.
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
When the Smoked Benedict was served to me, it seemed like a rather small portion of food for a high price. However, it was exquisitely good. It is a French patisserie, after all. Feel Better, a caffeine-free white tea, was also very good. There was a steady stream of customers on a Sunday morning. I would be happy to return and enjoy other items on the menu.

Yelp
This all-vegan bakery is a lovely little café in the Maven District and is a welcoming place to come enjoy a coffee and pastry. In addition to vegan options, they also have some gluten free treats for those that prefer or need that. I love seeing so many great options! Service was terrific-we were warmly greeted and given some guidance after the person behind the counter learned we were first timers. After a few recommendations, we ended up with a coffee, lemonade, croissant, crepe and chocolate chip cookie. Yes, it was a sweet visit.

Yelp
Everything we have tasted has been delicious (outside of the side salad that came with my sandwich, it was just lettuce covered in dressing. The staff have always been kind and helpful. My only real criticism is it feels pretty expensive. Today I went by myself and had a sandwich and one cup of tea and the bill came to $30 after the built in tip. I wanted to try a treat, but it was out of the question due to cost. I will return, but rarely - as the price doesn't equal the experience for me.

Yelp
Cute, almost tea-shop feeling vegan bakery/coffee shop, with brunch and lunch options. PSA - there is an automatic 18% service charge applied to all purchases. Enjoyed weekend brunch here with a friend. She ordered the overnight oats (not pictured) and an oat milk iced matcha and said they were both very good! I ordered the smoked Benedict and a hot oat milk vanilla latte. The latte was beautifully crafted and perfectly delicious! The Benedict was A LOT of food! I couldn't even eat half. The side potatoes were so soft and flavorful, those disappeared fast. Not being vegan, but having been so in the past, I could definitely pick out the different textures and flavors of the Benedict, delicious and filling, would definitely recommend. Don't forget a pastry for the road! They are known for their almond croissants (to die for), to which I paired a St. Horn (also incredible). Definitely don't skip out on a pastry.

Yelp
Super cute coffee and pastry shop across on 900 S that a Yelp Elite Squad friend recommended as we ran into each other at Acrely Farms. Super cute environment as you walk in. I love all the dried flower arrangements. They have a variety of pastries, including gluten free! I went for a gf banana tarte, per recommendation of the person at the front, and a cortado. The gf banana tarte was on point and I thoroughly enjoyed my cortado. I wouldn't mind stopping in again!

Missy C.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for coffee and breakfast! They always have freshly baked goodies and the staff is very friendly!

neil s.

Yelp
Ridiculously good! Getting the fresh savory croissant in the morning was so tasty. The impossible sandwich had the best side potatoes I've had in a while. Exceeded expectations. Service as fast and the ambience of s perfectly laid back and clean.
google avatar

Yelp
Always enjoy eating here or getting coffee (which always includes food) A gem for the vegan community here in SLC.
google avatar

Erika J.

Yelp
Be aware - They automatically charge 18% tip!! We were surprised when we paid and the suggested tip amounts were only 2% and 3%. Later we realized that they automatically add on an 18% tip, then also ask for the additional amount. Definitely would not have tipped on top of that. We were visiting some other soups in the area and stopped here for a coffee break. Our group ordered a selection of drinks and pastries, most of which were very disappointing. The lavender lemonade just tasted like regular lemonade. The "pot pie" pastry that we got was tiny, barely filled, and not worth the price. The macarons didn't have much flavor. The "hostess cupcake" was really good though! That was probably the best thing we ordered. Service was slow and the place wasn't very clean, despite it not being very busy.
google avatar

Indo S.

Yelp
Awesome place. Enjoyed everything we ordered. Everything was vegan and taste was incredible. Simple coffee shop atmosphere and very clean. Walk up counter service. They were busy at lunch, so had to choose a table that was available and clean.
google avatar

Andi S.

Yelp
Cute vegan French style pastry shop with some brunch entrees. The service has always been pretty slow which makes the mandatory 18% service charge a little eyebrow raising especially when considering it's all counter service and bus yourself. However the food used to always more than make up for the wait. This last visit however despite the gourmet presentation and combination of ingredients, the food was overwhelmingly salty. Every single ingredient just tasted of salt. The potatoes especially were inedible and spotted others also discarding theirs in the bin.

Cristina M.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I don't normally eat vegan food but This Heirloom-Ricotta toast Is out of this world. I felt quite welcomed immediately when I open the door. The place is very cute and the pastries, hand pies, croissants look dynamite. If only my stomach were bigger. I would come back here time and time again. Especially since I visit Utah quite often. Again 5 isn't enough I give this place 10 Stars #vegan #pastryshop #coffeeshop #brunch
google avatar

Mariza R.

Yelp
Yes! A dream true for vegan folks with a sweet-tooth. The textures were on-point and there were so many options! The fruit tart, just what I've was hoping for. The pastry horn was flakey and well portioned. The STAR was the chocolate chip cookie, get it warmed and make sure you have a beverage at the ready because it is RICH. I ended up bringing the leftovers all the way back home to California and enjoyed the rest of the cookie again and it was luscious the next day too. The BF ordered the biscuit and was happy too.
google avatar

Yelp
What an adorable cafe! I love the Maven District for places such as Passion Flour. Passion Flour has something for everyone - their food options include food that is savory, sweet, vegan, or gluten free! The ambiance here is warm and inviting. It's a quiet spot to meet with a friend, get breakfast, or take yourself out for a bakery treat. I settled on on the pop tart. The pop tart was filled with the most delicious raspberry jam and topped with a sweet, matcha glaze. Service was good, but don't expect small talk or much conversation. They seemed busy at the time, so maybe it was just the time of day I went in! I would love to go back for coffee and bring a friend next time. Try it out!

Yelp
Second time embarking on this place. First time was on a very short layover. So when we knew that we had another chance in SLC, we knew passion flour was the place to be. Both occasions everyone is very nice, pastries are mouth watering and delicious. Hot food to order was mouth watering as well. Unfortunately the only thing I can ding them on, is their coffee. It was very lackluster and to be honest it's my least favorite coffee out of all coffee places I have been to. However, don't worry about their coffee- eat their food, eat their yummy pastries, support a terrific vegan business. Made a great impression on my layover, so much so that my wife stopped their twice in less than 24 hours before embarking on the rest of our road trip.
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
Man oh man, do I love this bakery. It's sooo good! Every time I visit. The food and beverages are always consistently good. 10/10 would recommend to anyone regardless if you're vegan or not

Yelp
We came here to try their croissant ham and cheese sandwich as well as some of their other treats. Apart from the croissant sandwich, we got another vegan pastry that was in the shape of a triangle and a vegan sandwich that was like a pastrami sandwich, which came with a side salad and we chose the tahini dressing. Additionally, we tried one of their lemonades and one of their Arnold Palmer drinks. We ended with a vegan hostess cupcake and vegan cheesecake. Everything was really delicious. The vibe of this place is like a small café, but they had several small tables all around. The service was decent, nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible either. The vibe of this place seems to be where college students/anyone can come and work on the computer as they have a small bite to eat. I would return because the food was good.
google avatar

Judith T.

Yelp
Every time I crave vegan desserts, I come to passion flour! My favorite is the almond croissant and the pop tarts. For this trip, we got the muddy chocolate cupcake, lemon tart, almond croissant, and the snickerdoodle cookie. We also got some coffee! It's a nice place to sit and enjoy some pastries. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars is the price and their food menu, it's alright. Come for the pastries!

Clare B.

Yelp
Pastries are delicious, overpriced, but delicious. Person "helping" me couldn't have been more annoyed that I wanted to order. This makes me sad and made me feel self conscious and icky in the moment. I love shopping local. Long hair, brown and curly. Owners might want to address, this is a tricky climate for small businesses! I won't be back. I'll go to Loki instead.

Deb W.

Yelp
OMG, vegan heaven! We ate avacado toast and a breakfast sandwich. Both were great. The almond croissant was good - I would have appreciated more filling. We then packed up a poptart, chocolate croissant, Ho Ho, and a chantilliy horn (croissant-like dough surrounding cream inside). They made it on an 8hour drive and are still fresh. Taste so wonderful! Yes, beware of 18% service fee. And remember how little staff are paid in the service industry. We did tip about 20% on top before noticing the fee. But I try to always keep in mind that the folks working need to live. I'll tip well and go out to eat less in order to do so.

Katrina M.

Yelp
Ok passion flour is pretty bold telling me the pastry cost 7$ then 18% service to pay someone to make them and sell them. Here is Beaumont bakery pastry. So so good and bigger. No 18% service fee and a guilt trip to tip on top of that. It's a must try everyone. I read your response to the pricey ingredients. I understand that and that is why I'm ok paying more for it. However it is a baby size compared to other places. 1/2 the size to be exact. The biggest issue I have is that you expect your customers to pay your baristas wage. 18% service fee already then please tip 15 to 20% more because you don't pay them a fair wage?! So nearly 38% extra to make up for what you decided to pay your employees. I think that is so sad. It's your job to pay your employees. If you didn't have a mandatory 18% I would gladly tip 20%. I say raise the wage of your barista. When you require 18% for service fee for take out too you are only taking the gratuity to ur employees because ur customers are forced into paying that without choice.

Alexander G.

Yelp
Sometime things fall through the cracks, and I appreciate when people genuinely accept it and feel apologetic about it. The owner, Jessica, has reached out to me offering a remediation of sorts, and explaining the inconsistency in pastry size by training new bakers - which totally made sense to me. I appreciated the honesty. Today the experience was a total opposite of what I had during my previous visits. Aubrey is very sweet and makes terrific coffee! I was very glad to give this place another chance and now I indeed feel like I will be a returning customer.
google avatar

Nivole L.

Yelp
Expensive food, more appealing to look at than eat. Inconsistent staffing of the counter to place an order.

Cynthia P.

Yelp
I've been to several vegan bakeries- I'm adding this to my list of favorites. It's very good quality food. Delicious. Almost feels like you're in a European cafe. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Another cool shop near Chip Cookie and Normal Ice cream. My little brother went inside and saw a lot of pastries so I headed that way too. Great friendly and welcoming customer service, only one small complaint was that one of the pastries was a little too hard. I won't be deterred and will return.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Amazing smoked Benedict! The coffee is good too. I can't wait to try a pastry but I don't know how I'll decide, everything looks so good!
google avatar

Alejandra P.

Yelp
When I first walked in, I was so excited. I'd never been and I was in Salt Lake City for work. I walked 30 minutes because they're reviews were great. I asked the gentleman working for any recommendations and he just seemed out of it. We all have bad days, but it's always important to remember it's not the customers fault and the experience means so much! I won't pin them for customer service because I would come back. And if I would come back, they deserve 5 stars. Their pop tarts, chocolate croissants and hostess cupcake are amazing. My son ate the chocolate cupcake so fast and said "Mom this cupcake is BOMB". My older brother said "this pop tart tastes so fresh!" So my family loved them when I got home from my trip. I got the blackberry chocolate cheesecake. It was REALLY good. The berry part was super moist, fresh tasting, just really yum. The chocolate on the outside was really good too! I don't know what they made the crust with, but I would change that. I kept scraping pieces off because it was throwing off the quality of the other parts of the cake.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I got a few croissants and a gift box of macarons (5), and although the macarons were more pricey than expected ($18 plus tax and an automatic 18% gratuity on all orders, so probably about $23), everything tasted like perfection! The Nutella croissant was my favorite, with the rich smooth filling and crispy croissant outside. Plenty of seating inside and very friendly staff.
google avatar

Corey H.

Yelp
Food is expensive $5.75 for 1 Kouign Amann, then the 18% gratuity makes it $7.50 for 1 tiny mediocre pastry. Person at the counter was very cold and very aggressive when I asked about the 18% being added without my consent... the food is already more expensive than most bakeries, pay your employees off that margin.
google avatar

Parker G.

Yelp
Ok, I've been here twice. The first time I didn't realize it was a vegan joint but I was hungry and popped in for a pastry and a latte. I was met with some attitude for sure when I asked for whole milk. Sorry I didn't know! Pastry was delicious though. Second time I came in and asked for just an espresso and again was met with some sort of attitude by the staff. And the espresso was super sour and not dialed in correctly at all.

Christopher W.

Yelp
Food was $42.12 for 7 macrons that tasted like the fridge and had to be thrown out, as well as 2 croissants that were so dry they shouldn't have been sold. All in all I didn't finish anything I purchased. I wanted to like this place. Too expensive for good food let alone sub-par.

Laura V.

Yelp
Coming from Montana where vegan options are few and far between, I was just stoked to find an all vegan bakery. I ate at a few other vegan-friendly places while visiting Salt Lake and the spicy chicken biscuit was by far the best thing I had. Buttery biscuit, not-too-sweet mango habanero jam, flavorful coleslaw and the crispy chicken patty were delicious. Also $14 for a filling portion size seemed super reasonable. Will absolutely be back next time I'm in Salt Lake!!
google avatar

Charlie W.

Yelp
We La La La LOVE Passion Flour Unfortunately it is out of our budget for regular visits, but for special occasions, there's no place we'd rather be.
google avatar

Mary Kathryn C.

Yelp
The vegan ricotta toast is so craveable! The focaccia bread is light and fluffy, but they toast it so nicely. I don't know how they make the ricotta, but the consistency is still very creamy and the flavor great. The heirloom tomatoes and balsamic drizzle are also the perfect topping! It comes with a side salad with a few options for dressings that are a great compliment to the toast. Highly recommend trying this dish! The potatoes also have a rosemary and curry seasoning, which is very good! The inside of the cafe is small, but very cute and the employees are all very friendly!
google avatar

Lila K.

Yelp
This place has so much potential. I read a lot of reviews and was willingly to give the place a chance just because of how many vegan / gf options there were. I think I am starting to learn that just because the options are there does not mean it is a must stop shop. The banana crème cup was tasty, however my friend and I could not cut it without spewing chunks of Graham cracker across the table it was so hard. Very cute patisserie and a nice place to sit and chat but inappropriate prices for size and quality.

Alexandra F.

Yelp
Food is dank. Service has never been good, as you can see from previous reviews, and I've been coming for many years. No one asks you how you are, no one smiles, and there's always a bit of attitude. There is usually no one in the cafe and the employees will still belittle you and make you feel like a burden. Probably because their tip is included and they don't need to be very friendly. I am glad they are getting paid what they deserve though! I'll still be back but check it out yourselves, just don't plan on feeling very good about yourself after. Strawberry matcha is a must in the summer!

Hannah F.

Yelp
Food was good. They automatically add gratuity to every order then have the audacity to literally ask us to buss the table before we leave...and weren't even busy. Moral of the story, pay your workers a living wage.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Beautiful place close by downtown that is so worth to drive to. There are some parking spots front store, wide sidewalks. Food was beyond expectations; we ordered all new food for us, which was the point: new things in this trip. We had a bowl with chickpeas and lentils, a side of potatoes, a toast bread with butter and a jelly infused with lavender that we loved. Chai latte to drink. Bathroom was clean. Customer service was great, Jacob even tried to speak Spanish to us, extra points for that service.
google avatar

Bonnie N.

Yelp
It was fun seeing a vegan bakery to try! The croissant was really tasty. Crispy and shatter-y on the outside, but moist and flakey on the inside. I enjoyed it! The French macaron was a bit odd, still good, just so very different than an actual non vegan macaron. I'd love to go back and try some of their savory items. Maybe some day!
google avatar

Mackenzie B.

Yelp
Disappointing vegan pastries. I was visiting Salt Lake and stopped here after searching for some vegan places to try. We ordered an array of treats: blueberry matcha cake, strawberry cheesecake macaroon, a savory croissant with beyond meat, and some kind of little cookie. The service was great and the cashier was super friendly! She gave me an extra cookie because the croissants were a little smaller than usual. We were super excited to try all of our treats. Unfortunately, not a single item was good. I am not strictly vegan, but I do prefer to eat vegan. If you have no other options, these pastries are fine. All of them had a really weird fake taste that would be hard to get used to. Even if I were strictly vegan I would skip these. Pricey for subpar treats.
google avatar

Ha B.

Yelp
Can't speak to their in-person service as I had only order delivery; however, their matcha drink is bomb (tips: if you're not a sweet fan, I'd recommend asking them to not add any syrup or sugar in your drink; I ordered it as such and loved the outcome). Croissant is tiny and a bit dry but I didn't mind it too much. I wasn't a big fan of the macarons (way too sweet to taste anything else) but am pleased with the other two items so would def recommend.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
An adorable little shop that opens right on time. I know, because I was standing there waiting for them to open. I I was in SLC in July and it was HOT. I wanted to start my sightseeing early before things got to 100 degrees, so I walked from my hotel to this little place first thing in the morning. I took my latte and pastries to Liberty Park which was a decent but manageable walk from here. The pastries were flaky and delicious, crisp outside, tender inside. I'm always on the lookout for vegan treats made with laminated dough and this place did not disappoint. My top spot is still Terms of Endearment in Brooklyn, but given the geographic distance between the two, Passion Flour still qualifies for an "as good as it gets" in my book. The macarons were lovely but none of the flavors that day spoke to me.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
This is a all vegan authentic French bakery and cafe. The macaroons are a must have. I have been able to try different things here as long as they've been gluten free, but thankfully a lot of the baked goods have been made with almond flour. It isn't open late but it's definitely somewhere for early morning coffee date or lunch tea and biscuits sort of idea that the French have. Highly recommend and right in the district that is called the Maven District or right near it. There's Jeds Barber Shop, Randy's Record Store, Maven Create, which is one building with lots of different suites used for different things. Don't miss out! Light and fluffy delicate offerings, and aesthetically can't be competed with!
google avatar

Satoe S.

Yelp
As a non-vegan, I'm always curious how vegan food is like non-vegan food and this place makes you forget that it's vegan. We got two coffees which were superb, but the real winner was the pop tart and the macaron. The pop tart dough was flaky but not too flaky and the jam not terribly sweet but perfectly sweet. The mint chocolate macaron was first of huge but also honestly tasted like a regular macaron. The crunch of the outer shell and the soft almost chewy inside was really well done. The inside is also pretty cool looking. They don't have any seats, which is unfortunate but I think it's a covid thing. Staff friendly. Def recommend!

Yelp
Fresh delicious vegan EVERYTHING made with care and love in a delightful space. They are commuted to supporting their staff as well, adding an automatic gratuity to the tab. Other civilized countries recognize workers deserve a living wage and social safety net; until we in the US do as well this is a good workaround. In hard times we need to stick together.
