Phenomenal pasta! Very delicious. Note that gratuity is automatically included on the bill. You order at the counter and then take a number. There is seating outside on the patio and inside. Service was speedy. Decor of the restaurant was simple but pleasant. It was a bit pricey for the portion size but if you're willing to splurge, this is a great place to treat yourself!

One of the best authentic Italian pasta with affordable price in the South Bay. We ordered burrata salad, creamy mushroom soup, spaghetti with crushed tomato, gnochetti sarti with organic mushroom and truffle oil. The Gnochetti with Truffle was definitely the highlight dish. It was cooked perfectly, light taste with the truffle oil that feels like the gnochettt had soup inside of them. It was amazing! The spaghetti with tomato was very refreshing, I love the noodle tastes so fresh and quite chewy. Burrata salad with the asparagus was excellent. we were glad we have ordered it on top of the other foods we ordered which we it might be too much food but the portion were perfect and it’s smaller than the typical Italian restaurants so we actually feel very comfortable but also very filling after the meal. Parking is a bit hard for this place and that’s the problem.. I would highly recommend to come with one car and find parking around the back of the restaurant. We came at 6:45PM and the parking lot was quite full. There are some tables available even at 6:45PM so that’s good news and the meal came few mins right after we ordered. I will definitely come back and will share this wonderful place with my friends and family.

Google
We had a lovely late lunch. Pasta was cooked al dente and to perfection. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and my guest ordered the gemelli with the organic mushroom ragout, black truffle cream sauce and parmesan. To compliment our tasty meal, we enjoyed their refreshing frozen lemonade withe vodka, lemon and yuzu. The ambience was pleasant and quiet/romantic. The service was great. You order your items and they deliver them to your table. The weather was wonderful, plenty of parking (even for a sunny Friday afternoon), and there are tons of boutiques, shops, bakeries nearby in the Pruneyard shopping center.

Google
Great little pasta shop in downtown Saratoga. They are from the owners of Plumed Horse, and even have the same focaccia bread (which is outstanding). Pasta dishes were also very good, everything was fresh, flavors were balanced, and plating was pretty good too. From what I could tell, they don't really have a FOH, but rather do a mandatory 15% tip and the chefs are the ones bringing out your food/checking if everything is okay - which is super cool. You can tell this is a place that cares about both the food and the people making it.

I was excited to try this place during my birthday trip. All of the photos and reviews looked great so my expectations were high. I loved how quick the service was, but ordering off a QR code wasn’t my favorite. The bread was delicious (flaky salt was a nice touch). The mushroom soup was excellent - the croutons offered a satisfying crunch and didn’t go soggy. I had the vegetarian rigatoni with beyond meat red sauce - overall it was good but was heavier than expected and I could eat about half of my dish. EDM played constantly, so not exactly the calm relaxing dinner spot I was craving.

Google
A very interesting place with excellent food! You order up front once a table is available. Then the food is brought to your table. Great soup and salad, with a unique salad dressing. Very tasty pasta dishes. Warmly recommended!

Google
The best pasta I have ever had in the States! The sources are pretty simple yet so yummy. I had the signature pasta with mushroom while my buddy enjoyed tomato & basil. We are not vegetarians, and mostly skip those veggie menus, but were so happy with the meal here. The bread was good as well as green salad. Wines are selected and reasonably priced. More than that, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back there for sure.

Google
Semi-self serve, pasta specialty restaurant. We ordered 3 different kinds of pasta, two salads and two deserts. The pasta itself was pretty good, fresh tasting and al dente. But, not much "substance", meaning light on the other ingredients. For example, my pasta with pork belly had just a few pieces of diced pork belly that they were hard to find. The salads were fresh and tasty dressing. Deserts were ok. Overall, low CP!

Yelp
My friend and I came here for dinner prior to seeing a show at the Mountain Winery. It has a modern clean ambiance. It is a nice place for dinner, yet still casual. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. Food: We ordered some bread to share. I ordered the gemelli which came with a mushroom ragout. The bread was good, but I wish it was served warm. The gemelli was good. It was as expected as I've had it at other locations before. Service: The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We were able to order at the counter right away. However, our food took quite some time to come out. Given how busy the restaurant looked, we were surprised it took as long as it did. TL;DR - nice casual spot for some pasta though it may take some time for food to come out.

Yelp
Another great dinner at Pasta Armellino. I love the pasta here, everything is just so good. The sauce was creamy and the seasoning was on point. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the service was quick and friendly. I'm not a fan of tomato sauce but this one was good. Such a great place for a chill, relaxing dinner! I just wish they will bring back the big size of the cannoli since the size is so tiny now .

Yelp
Despite its unassuming location, Pasta Armellino is a hidden treasure not to be missed. Their food is top tier, with service to match. During our visit, I opted for the lasagna, with the burrata salad to start and it ranked among the best I've ever tasted. The pasta was flawlessly prepared, with a flavorful sauce and delectably melty cheese. My partner was equally impressed with their fettuccine alfredo order, declaring it the best to date. The high-quality service added to our overall experience. Our waiter was responsive and amicable, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our meal. His wine recommendations were also very much appreciated. Pasta Armellino was an absolute delight, especially for date night. Between the scrumptious food, top-tier service, and warm, welcoming ambiance, we had an unforgettable experience. This restaurant is a strong recommendation for anyone seeking a quality Italian dining experience. This place has everything from its delicious dishes to its outstanding service, all delivered in a snug and welcoming atmosphere. Pros: Highly appealing cuisine Exceptional service Comfortable and hospitable ambiance Cons: It get's noisy at peak times Limited parking availability

Yelp
Love this location of Pasta Armellino. Have tried their Cupertino location but the pasta here seems tastier. A group of us ate outdoors and we shared a couple of pastas. Highlights were the Rigatoni Impossible and Pasta Armellino. The Mushroom gemelli pasta wasn't too overpowering with the truffle oil addition. Portions are generous so we could have shared 3 pastas for 4 people. Staff were nice and loved the casual atmosphere.

Mark C.

Yelp
I must unequivocally affirm the sheer delight of dining at Pasta Armellino. The pasta, cooked to al dente perfection, speaks to the culinary prowess of the chef. The sauces, crafted with authenticity and thoughtfulness, unleash an explosion of flavors. It's rumored that the chef behind this culinary marvel hails from the prestigious kitchens of Plumed Horse and Gramercy. After experiencing this pasta firsthand, I can confidently declare it as the epitome of pasta perfection. Without a doubt, this is the finest pasta I've ever had!

Barbora M.

Yelp
I love this place. All the 1 star reviews are wrong, maybe they are wrong about disrespectful workers. But our waiter was very kind and respectful, always checking up on us if we need anything. Food was heaven in a bowl. The drinks we so good because they had the most expensive Mexican sprite for only $4. The wait time was only 18 minutes or so. I recommend the Child's pasta, or the Gemelli was A- MAZE- ING. Thank you for reading my review. But I do agree that they don't allow stroller, and they don't have high chairs. Otherwise, great Italian restaurant.

Divyani R.

Yelp
Went here for a date night. There wasn't a big crowd and don't need a reservation in advance. We got the mushroom soup, focaccia for appetizers and loved both of those. The soup was fresh and creamy. The mushroom gemelli was amazing my favorite among everything. We also got the Pasta Armellino and it wasn't bad but not as good as the gemelli. I will come back again here!

Yelp
Permanently closed in Saratoga. Very misleading because the yelp said that it's four stars, but there's a big step ladder in the middle of the window with nothing inside, except for white paint sheets

Alan P.

Yelp
This location is closed. (As of mid October 2023) Looking forward to trying another location.

Yelp
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The pasta I ordered had an overpowering alcoholic taste and made the pasta bitter, indicating that the wine wasn't properly evaporated during cooking, and it was not even mentioned on the menu that this dish contain alcohol. When I requested a refire, the waiter claimed that he can't taste any alcohol. However, the refired dish without alcohol has a totally different taste. His word is not that convincing to me. To make matters worse, I found a short hair in my second pasta, and it definitely wasn't mine since my hair is way longer. When I brought this to the waiter's attention, he refused to remove the pasta from the bill, citing that I had eaten half of both pasta. While I'm not concerned about the money, the attitude towards customers was truly disappointing.

Isabella M.

Yelp
Yummy pasta but pretty pricey for small amounts. Service is great. Would probably choose a different place to go for Italian, but still delicious. Definitely give it a try.

Haneen A.

Yelp
The ambiance is a little weird. There's EDM music playing, you order from the table and pay before the food comes; although there's an option to pay after. The mushroom soup was excellent! The pasta dishes were okay. The Pasta Armellino was creamy and there were lots of crab pieces throughout. The rigatoni is just as you'd expect, a tart tomato sauce with impossible meat.

Kaitlin D.

Yelp
Tasty food, great portions, and incredibly sweet staff. Downtown Saratoga is always a pleasant place to eat.

Arthur S.

Yelp
This is a classy yet non pretentious and casual place to eat some delicious pasta made fresh and in house. Nice little spot to come out to spend time with friends, enjoy pasta and wine. There's an automatically set 15% gratuity which I personally appreciate. My favorites so far are the Gemilli and Bucatini. But really, everything is good here. Also want to call out that every time I've come here, I've received top notch friendly, relaxed, and attentive service. Dara and Devrani in particular left a strong positive impression. Huge plus.

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Great place for a casual dinner and delicious pasta. I thought pasta armellino was more high street, but was pleasantly surprised that it is very much a casual atmosphere. The establishment is an order first, then sit down type of joint. Nothing wrong with that but again, this is more of a casual joint! I got the gemelli black truffle pasta ($16) and was really impressed by the flavor and the dish filled me up quickly. It is slightly on the heavier side, but still tasted great. I also got to try a little bit of the focaccia bread and it was delicious. This location can be a tad tricky given it's in DT Toga, which doesn't have a lot of parking, but it is still worth checking this place out. As of 11/2021, an automatic 15% gratuity is charged on all dine-ins and 10% for take out. The restaurant has spaced out tables so the inside may look a tad sparse on purpose!

Kristi L.

Yelp
Fun neighborhood restaurant. This review is strictly set on the food. Pasta Armellino has a short menu. There was 4-5 pasta dishes with 1 special. The special was unavailable. All pastas have add-one once you select it. Plenty of options. We ordered the spaghetti and bucatini. The pasta was wonder and perfectly firm. It had the texture of a homemade pasta. The spaghetti was delicious, had the right amount of acid and salt. The bucatini wasn't as spicy as I had anticipated. This pasta could have been a bit more balanced in flavors between the cream, pesto and salt.

Mandi F.

Yelp
I really like this place! Pastas are always really well done, love the chill atmosphere, and staff are always friendly and helpful. I've tried a lot of their pastas now, only one I don't really care for is their capellini prawns with broccolini as the prawns were overcooked. Otherwise, braised beef, mushroom, Mac n cheese, spicy sausage (not actually spicy tho), pasta armellino, and spaghetti are all really good! Bring on more flavors so I can keep trying new things!

Quyen H.

Yelp
This place is so good! The concept is pretty simple, you order at the front and then find a seat for them to bring out the food. The pasta choices are great. I really LOVE LOVE LOVE their mushroom soup. I know the presentation doesn't look to appetizing since it's just one solid color, but YOU MUST TRY IT. It's simply delicious. I was considering not sharing this dish with my BF. hah! The truffle pasta one with the mushroom is also very good. My BF got the mac n cheese with bacon and he cleaned that plate haha. I think they rotate out their pasta and salads. I went here last year and had this burrata with tomatoes, but this time around it was with zucchini and onions. Interesting salad. I also ordered their spaghetti and meatballs to go. It had great flavors and you can definitely taste the basil. Word on the street is that they're expanding. They're opening up a location in Pruneyard in the near future! Can't wait!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem of a place! Some of the best pasta I have ever had! Great staff and good prices! 2nd time here and once again chef Frank and Peter are the best!!! I WILL DIE SAYING; THIS IS THE BEST DAMN PASTA I HAVE EVER HAD!! Shout out Chef Frank and staff!

Phi B.

Yelp
Our order: Focaccia bread with Calabrian chili olive oil, mushroom soup with focaccia croutons, tagliatelle pasta with crab/uni cream, and rigatoni pasta with spicy red pepper sauce/Italian sausage/broccolini. This is a very cute South Bay pasta shop (there are three locations: Saratoga, Campbell, Cupertino). The wall decor consisted of the graffiti art that says "PASTA" and framed collected hotel key cards. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed my rigatoni. Its spicy red pepper sauce gave the pasta just enough spicy kick. The focaccia bread was perfectly fluffy and went perfectly well with the Calabrian chili olive oil. The tagliatelle pasta was too creamy for my liking as I do not enjoy creamy flavors, but my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely return to try the other pastas and locations!

Yelp
Not sure why it took me so long to come here as I've had it bookmarked forever, but glad I came! They are only open 5-9 PM everyday, and very casual order at the counter service. They do bring the food to you though. Large open space, very clean and modern. After reading all the rave reviews, I decided on the gnochetti sardi, while my family ordered the rigatoni impossible bolognese and cappellini with prawns. We also started with their bread, truffle burrata salad, and mushroom soup. They also had great wines and beers on tap (pliny the elder!) Our appetizers came out first, and they were all delicious! Presentation was all perfect, ingredients were all very tasty. Then our pastas came out. They are on the smaller portion side, but I felt they were all perfect for one person. My gnochetti sardi had pretty good flavor, loved the truffle, but it was just ok to me. I ate maybe a 1/4 of it and was done. The impossible bolognese was nice and hearty, our favorite of the night! Lastly, I am a sucker for panna cotta, and this version with caramel green apples and granola....absolutely divine! Would eat this everyday if I could.

Yelp
Amazing light dinner, great wine, and even better Jazz - SaxSessions with Mike Mendoza. Unclear why this place isn't packed with the quality of food (Michelin Chef) and the price point (very reasonable).

Bae B.

Yelp
Been coming here for a while now along with their other locations. Excellent pasta. It is more casual at the Cupertino location as you need to order first, pay, and the server will bring to the table.

Kiley D.

Yelp
Super yummy! Love the salad here. Service is always great. The only downside are the metal chairs which are terribly uncomfortable. I hope they replace them

Peter T.

Yelp
Born and raised here but raising my family in San Diego. It's great to see that DT Saratoga has become so much more than La Fondue and the Plumed Horse. While you can still get douchy things like $5 for a tiny chocolate truffle at Alexander's Chocolate Palace, you can definitely load your kid's belly's full of high quality tasty pasta for under $20 a dish at Pasta Armellino. We got the order to go. We got the truffle one, the red one, some bread and some salad. Everything to me tasted like something you could get in the Marina in SF at a $27 dollar price point for $18 bucks. Creamy al dente pasta that tasted freshly made and freshly prepared, just for me and my family. Not half cooked, reboiled pasta with sauces sitting in a container that were just poured on. I love Pasta. My wife won't let me have it very often at home but every time we're in Saratoga visiting my extended family this will definitely be on the rotation list.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Very lovely casual place for pasta in downtown Saratoga. They operate more like a fast food place (you order first, they give you a number, then they bring out the food to your table), but the food is like fancy Italian restaurant level. Portion sizes are reasonable, more on the smaller size (so don't expect Buca di beppo sizes), but the pastas and favors were delectable! They have beers and wines to pair with the meal, along with a special that's written on the wall. We ordered 3 pastas to share between 2 people, and we had some leftover for about one meal for one person. The spaghetti was good, but nothing too special there. The gnochetti sardi (mushroom and truffle oil) was the stronger favor, but very delicious. The orecchiette with Italian sausage was the unexpected one that I really enjoyed. The sausage was flavorful but not too much so and it was lighter than the gnochetti (probably because of less oil). I would definitely come back and try the rest of their menu! They have quite a few tables inside, plus some chairs at the bar, and some patio dining. Staff was very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly!

Bobby Z.

Yelp
I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I had to write one for this place. The price is very high for its portion. I would understand if it's high quality but both me and my partners pasta were undercooked and clumped together. For the pasta armellino we ordered the noodle was hard, can almost taste the flour. Good service and good presentation of the food though.

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Friday night date night, haaaay. Made the trek down to saratoga for some casual pasta dinner. One of the servers asked if it was our first time and began quickly explaining how the ordering system works - pick up a menu and a pencil at the entrance, pick your seats, and go to the register when you're ready to order. We ordered the sourdough bread (topped with Parmesan cheese), greens and pistachio vinaigrette salad, and their impossible burger bolognese. One serving size of the pasta is an adequate amount if you're planning on ordering an appetizer and salad with it, otherwise they recommending getting our own bowls of pasta. I'd definitely recommend the salad and pasta - the sourdough was a pass for me. Altogether our meal came out to $36, a really decent price to pay for an Italian dinner for two. Well definitely be back to try more dishes!

Schelly Y.

Yelp
Pasta Armellino is an order at the counter restaurant. Upon walking in, on the left side, they have clipboards with pencils and the menu. You order at the counter and bring your own drinks to the table. They do bring the food directly to your table though. The ambiance is clean and bright and the perfect spot if you want delicious pasta but want to keep it casual. The tagliatelle was al dente and coated in a creamy yet not overly rich uni sauce. Portion sizes are reasonable considering the quality and price. Bread - Sourdough, Parmesan Cheese, Garlic, Oil, Sea Salt Pasta Armellino -Tagliatelle, Black Pepper, Parmigiano, Crab & Uni Cream

Shirin B.

Yelp
I saw this place recommended to me on Yelp, and I saw the menu and I immediately thought I had to check it out! Pasta Armellino is a very cute Italian cafe that isn't too formal but serves up fancy Italian pastas, soups, and salads. My friend and I ordered bread (which isn't free btw) and we wanted a side of marinara but they wouldn't allow us to get one without paying $3 extra :( so, we got balsamic instead. We ordered the gnochetti with truffle oil and mushrooms and it tasted amazing! My friend pointed out that this gnochetti tasted like regular pasta and wasn't potato-ey at all, but I still thought it tasted amazing!! Pasta Armellino is pretty expensive since we ended up paying close to $30 for bread and one pasta dish.. but besides the price point, the tasty pasta and super cute decor is worth the trip!

Sylvia Y.

Yelp
In general, I try to avoid eating pasta unless it's made fresh, so I'm glad I finally got to check out Pasta Armellino. For dinner, I shared: -Sourdough bread -Burrata frisee salad -Mushroom gnochetti -Impossible Burger bolognese -Cannoli The sourdough bread was a bit salty and too oily for my taste. Not bad, but not something I would order again. The salad was light and went well with the heavier pastas we ordered. The mushroom gnochetti was rich in flavor and the gnocchi itself was perfectly al dente. The Impossible Burger bolognese tasted exactly like normal bolognese to me so it's a great vegetarian sub. Both pastas were seasoned well without being over salted. The cannolis were decent but the real stars of the night were the pasta dishes. The portions aren't necessarily ultra tiny, but I agree with the other reviews, this place is pricey compared to other pasta places... ahem, Olive Garden lol. It like that it's a casual environment where you order at the counter, yet the atmosphere is relatively elevated. I will be back next time I'm craving pasta! Hope they add even more creative vegetarian dishes to the menu.

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Savory, mouth-watering pasta. This place has delicious home-made pasta. I normally try not to order pasta from restaurants as that seems like a dish I can cook at home, but this restaurant (no joke) makes the most delicious home-made pasta and sauces that it is so worth it. My mom and I always get one dish of the pasta with mushroom and black truffles; that one is by far my favorite! Their menu does change a lot, depending on what the chef wants to make or the season of it. But all the pastas are delicious! The soups are very good as well if you wanted to try those. The portion they give is a lot where I could not be able to finish it, but have enough for half a meal of leftover. The price of the dishes are on the higher side, but once you taste the goodness and quality of the pasta, you'll understand it then. The service is good! Everyone there is friendly and helpful. COVID-wise, they seem to be enforcing social distancing and have hand sanitizer ready. I believe there is outdoor dining available as well. Parking can be a hassle sometimes, but eventually you'll be able to find a spot. Overall, if you're looking for some delicious pasta, highly highly recommend this place!

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Pasta Armellino seriously blows me away every time I go here! I'm a huge fan of their pasta dishes! This is the casual spinoff restaurant of the famed Plumed Horse, so I knew it had to be good. They have both street parking and parking in the lot behind the restaurant. During the weekend, parking can be tricky, but the neighborhood is really cute, so I don't mind having to park a little farther and enjoying the walk. Upon entering the restaurant, grab a clipboard and a pencil and check off your appetizer, salad, pasta, dessert, and/or drink selection. Don't forget to check for the special of the day, written on the tiled wall behind the register. Once you've made your selection, walk up to the register to order and pay for your meal. They will hand you a tray with napkins, silverware, water, and glasses. Also included will be your number to place on the table. Someone will bring out your food when it is ready. Their salads are pretty good, but clearly not the focus of this restaurant. I've had the Baby Romaine, Roasted Garlic, Avocado, and Shaved Pecorino Salad. I like that the ingredients always taste fresh--crisp lettuce (though I wish they would cute it into slightly smaller pieces), creamy avocado, and delicious cheese! In terms of the pastas, I have only good things to say about them! - "Pasta Armellino" - Tagliatelle, black pepper, parmigiano, crab, and uni...I LOVED this pasta! The flavor was so unique and delicious. I couldn't get enough of it! - Rigatoni, Maine Lobster, Tomato, Gruyere Cheese, Tarragon - Definitely a tasty pasta, but it didn't compare to the "Pasta Armellino" - Spinach Bucatini, Smoked Chicken, 63 Degree Egg, Mascarpone, and Pecorino - The sauce was so creamy, especially once the runny yolk was mixed in. I also enjoyed the smoked chicken. It had such a delightful smoky flavor! - Fresh Burgundy Truffle Ricotta Gnocchi - This was a Special of the Day, but I definitely think they should put it on the regular menu! It was super aromatic, and the gnocchi was soft and creamy. They were also very generous with the freshly shaved truffle. This is one of my favorite pasta restaurants, and I'm always looking for an excuse to come back!

Russell S.

Yelp
Simply the best spaghetti and meatballs in the Bay Area. Rivals the better neighborhood restaurants in the Italian neighborhoods in New Jersey and New York where we grew up. They make the pasta fresh and it is perfect. Reasonable prices for this level of food. Highly recommended.

Michael S.

Yelp
We're on to you, Pasta Armellino. There has to be a good reason why you would hide such an amazing handmade pasta experience on Big Basin Way in sleepy downtown Saratoga. Is this storefront a top secret pasta skunkworks? Is it run by a secret government agency testing pasta best practices before such pasta technology can be rolled out to covert pasta operatives in the field all over the world? We know the drill - we'll keep this quiet. Worry not - this is downtown Saratoga, after all. Who could find out? I had the Spinach Bucatini with the smoked chicken, my wife had the Orecchiette with the braised beef short rib, my daughter had the simple Spaghetti and my son had the Pasta Armellino Tagliatelle with the crab & uni. ALL were shockingly delicious, and the restaurant's casual quick-service-restaurant order-at-the-counter format are comfortable and refreshing. The simple but elegant design of the restaurant is also perfect - we loved the clean white tiled wall behind the register, the gorgeous open kitchen with blue tile, and the mural-walled dining room with collections of international hotel card-keys on the opposite wall. Pasta Armellino, your secret is safe - we won't tell anyone... except for a few friends.

Shanna K.

Yelp
Lovely, perfectly done pasta in a clean, casual atmosphere. Nice little wine and beer list as well. I choose the tagliatelle with crab and uni. It was luxurious and decadent without being over the top. A very elegant dish. I loved it. My friend chose the lobster rigatoni. I particularly loved the hint of tarragon in the dish. It was delicious. Overall, good for a casual date or a small group of friends. I'd like to go back and try other dishes as well as the salads and soup.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Great pasta place. Homemade pasta and super delicious. We ordered our pasta and waited forever so we went back in to find out that they forget to put our order in. Even for good food, I would have given this place less stars but they were so apologetic about it and comped our bill. So nice!! Overall food was great!!! Really fresh ingredients and al dente pasta. Ambiance was good!! Good outdoor seating in front if you brought a dog like I did. I need to come back!

William W.

Yelp
Takeout pasta I rate Plastic forks and paper plates Umami checkmate Ordered the gnochetti with mushrooms and pasta Armellino with uni cream and seafood bits. Talk about surf and turf. It was like I found the best parts of the land and ocean floor to lick. Both were delicious. The portion sizes were deceptively large. Highly recommend if you find yourself in this sleepy little town.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Omg. 15 stars for the food. 10 stars for the ambiance. 5 stars for the service. What does that average out to? Haha. Literally, some of THE best pasta dishes I've ever had in my life!!! My bud and I ordered a bunch of dishes to share. And a few glasses of wine. The set-up is: (1) grab a menu when you walk in; (2) mark up your menu; and (3) head over to the counter to put in the order. It sounds like a Crepevine situation, but is nothing like that. Also, I couldn't decide on a wine, but the cashier was awesome, and let me try before I buy. For sharing, we ordered: mushroom soup (UH-MAZING), crab uni pasta (perfectly al dente, seafood pasta without being fishy), truffle mushroom pasta (prob best bite of pasta I've ever had in a single bite), and sourdough bread (SUPER delish with warm mushroom soup). For sips, the bud ordered a half bottle of merlot and I ordered two glasses of the Chardonnay. My white was a perfect pairing for the dishes! In the end, we were deciding if we should get dessert. Andddd instead of dessert, we opted on more pasta and soup haha. Savory def better than sweets, amirite? We honestly were so impressed with all of the dishes, that we wanted to keep trying more! The best part was the prices!! The most expensive dish was the crab uni pasta, which was less than $25. Basically, for round 2, we ordered the cold asparagus soup (great for a hot, summer day, but mushroom soup was 500x better) and the lemon ricotta pasta (OMG, shockingly, prob the best pasta dish of the night?!). Returning ASAP to try even more! And get the fav dishes again, of course :))

Wow amazing flavors and excellent service. This place seriously blew my mind with the different flavors and quality of the dishes.

Yelp
Pasta Armellino is a great casual dining spot in Downtown Saratoga. They have 2 large tables for 6 on their patio, as well as several more smaller tables by the sidewalk. You go inside to order and pay, which makes it easy if you are dining with a group, rather than trying to figure out later who owes what. I enjoyed the Bucatini, Tomato Sauce, White Prawns, Arugula, Mascarpone, Garlic Crisp and the Burrata, Romaine, Snap Peas, Asparagus, Radish, Croutons, Lemon Vinaigrette salad. Both delicious. The pasta was definitely spicy as advertised! 3 people from our group tried the Pasta Armellino which we were told was very popular and not too fishy and none of them enjoyed it. They all found it to be too fishy and ended up ordering the traditional spaghetti instead. They sell wines by the glass but if you want to opt for a bottle for your table they will charge you for 4 glasses of wine. I look forward to going back!

Yelp
We have been waiting for Pasta Armellino to open but it took a bit for them to remodel the space. When my husband found out they opened, we were quick to stop by! You can tell they paid careful attention to the design of the restaurant by looking at the beautiful space and details (clean, modern logo on their napkins, to-go boxes, bags). As others yelpers mentioned, Peter Amellino of Plumed Horse is co-owner of the restaurant. We got the baby greens salad, gnochetti, and orecchiette. I thought the salad was underwhelming and the portion was not worth $8 (at least not the to-go portion). However, we really enjoyed both of the pastas. Since the pasta is made in-house, you can taste the freshness in each bite. The ingredients are more upscale than most casual pasta restaurants (e.g. black truffle oil, braised beef short rib, crab and uni). I really like how Pasta Armellino is casual (in that you order your food and either eat it there or at home), but the food itself is gourmet. The pasta was much better than pasta we get at most local Italian spots, and we didn't have to pay tip! A great dining concept and a nice alternative for families who want good food but don't have the time to eat at a full-service restaurant. *Currently only open for dinner, but they plan to be open for lunch on the weekends in the future

Yelp
Been ordering online for pick up here at main st, cupertino . This was my first time eating at the patio since the CoVid . I love it coz this place is so clean. Although they use disposable plates and utensils , it's still with presentation . I love it that I can see how my pasta is made. And waitstaff is perfect ! Must try .

Yelp
While a little expensive and parking can be tough around dinner (even on weekdays), this place is amazingly delicious! First of all, it reminded me of all those Italian restaurants in Sydney, Australia. Like it felt very clean, had a theme, bright, just a good vibe in general. There are order slips on the left when you first walk in and you order for your whole party. Once you fill it out, bring it to the register, pay, and they'll hand you a number. There's seating at the bar tops, inside the second room, and if you have a very large party and they're busy, seat you in the room just off the bar area in the front of the shop. My friends and I shared the bread and the Cesar salad. You MUST get it! So delicious. Bread was soft and a little crunchy and warm, and the salad was just the right amount of savory and vegetable to make you feel good about yourself. Now the pasta, is where it's at. You CANNOT go wrong no matter what you order. One friend and I got the gnochetti and my other friend got the braised beef short rib. Both were delicious. There were the right amount of mushrooms and sauce and you could tell the pasta was homemade. I tasted the braised beef short rib and it's an explosion of flavor. I'm going to go back for the spaghetti and the crab and uni tagliatelle next. We also ordered wine, which was a little natural tasting, so if you're not used to it, might not be for you. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and I'm definitely coming back!

Yelp
My parents and I happened to be in downtown Saratoga and Pasta Armellino caught our eye. When you first walk in, they hand you the menu, and after you've chosen you order at the counter. We got the mushroom soup, spinach bucatini with egg and smoked chicken, and spicy rigatoni. The soup was smooth and rich, lots of mushroom flavor, would recommend. Both pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and tasted super fresh. My poached egg was beautiful. However, portions are small here, so a regular person could probably finish 2 entrees. This place is good for a light lunch or dinner!

Yelp
Short Story: The best pasta place in Saratoga! Long Story: we've been here 3 times over the past 2 years and each time it's been great! We've tried several of their dishes (it changes every now and then). The pasta and sauces are not oily. It's very fresh and feels handmade. The bread is also excellent! The service, decor, and ambiance are phenomenal too. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The portions are a bit small so you may need to get more than one entree. Also it's not exactly a sit down restaurant. You go up to the counter to order and then find a table. Later, a server will bring you the food. The bread is warm and the cheese is fantastic! Verdict: I would definitely go back!

Yelp
Solid pasta from the chef at Plumed Horse. Food: Pasta is cooked perfectly al dente, albeit you pick up unbalanced bites of salt in every dish Service: Happy friendly servers, bored order-taking cashier drones Ambiance: Loud af casual dining room next to a quieter bar section Misc: - Awkwardly short utensils force you to eat the pasta with same continuity of fleeing from zombies, rest your grip and they fall onto your pasta and become untouchable - Very confused by the table of 3 sitting next to me who literally ordered 13+ bowls

Yelp
Food was great!! Really clean place. Definitely coming back! It was 5 of us so we tried almost every pasta dish and I love everyone's food dish! The place was very roomy and made me feel more comfortable with the whole covid thing lol

Yelp
Wow...really fantastic fresh, handmade pasta in a fast casual, well priced concept. We had both the salads and the romaine was good, but what was really fantastic was the summer squash with mozzarella. We also started with the sourdough boule which was served nice and hot with a great crispy crust which had really nice olive oil and some grated Parmesan cheese for flavor. For the pastas, we had the gnochetti with mushrooms and truffle and the buccatini with bacon. Both were very good, but the buccatini was the best by far. Great flavor in the tomato sauce and the bacon, but the pasta itself was cooked perfectly al dente. A little spicy, salty, smokey and bright with tomato. This was really the best. The gnochetti was good, but a little too one-note with the butter sauce. Also maybe some toasted bread crumbs on top would add some nice texture and also some more flavor to brighten the dish a little. Overall, it's fantastic and a find. The last place in this spot didn't do so well, but i'm sure this will have a long life if they keep putting out such artisan pasta at a very reasonable price.

Yelp
Amazing! I've been looking for a good pasta spot in South Bay because my favorite spaghetti is just TOO FAR NOW! Delfina in SF is by far the best for a basic bowl of spaghetti and I think I finally found a close competitor. We loved the casual vibe and decor inside Pasta Armellino. The place is actually owned by Plumed Horse, and what? They own La Fondue too? Crazy! They're opening 2 more locations in Campbell and Cupertino Main St so everyone will get fresh pasta! Yay! Their beer selection was good. I wasn't fond of their Parmesan bread (too hard). The butternut squash soup was fantastic and the uni crab pasta was tasty. The true winner for the night for me was the Spaghetti. You've never had it this good if you don't try this or Delfina in SF. Simple spaghetti is the best!!! I can't wait to try everything on the menu!
