The 35 Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal | Eater

"Pastelaria Moura, based in Santo Tirso, opened a branch in Porto to sell its most famous sweet: the jésuita, a triangle-shaped puff pastry topped with meringue, named for the outfits worn by Jesuit monks. The shop also offers an array of other Portuguese pastries, such as fatia de laranja (a flavorful orange pudding), custard eclairs, and pastéis de nata (of course). Best for: A sweet reward after exploring Baixa on foot." - Rafael Tonon

Saw a bunch of local firemen come out of this cafe, so this place must be good. Stop by for breakfast and everyone is local here no tourists. Pastries are fresh and very attractive looking, and coffee is freshly made on order. Latte is delicious and the "American Style" coffee is dark and flavorful and delicious having been freshly pulled from an espresso machine. Would absolutely come back and try their lunch specials and savory pastries if we have time. Stuff is very friendly, and spoke enough English to get my point across even though we all laughed at my extremely poor Portuguese. Order at the counter, sit down and eat, and pay at the counter after you are done.

Had a beautifully morning trying the incredible pastries from Pastelaria e Confeitaria Moura— especially the Bola de Berlin. I have never had a pastry as delicious as this one— the dough was so fluffy like a pillow and the filling was creamy and perfectly sweet. Definitely go here when you are in Porto!!

Checked out Pastelaria e Confeitaria Moura for their famous jésuita pastry. They’re originally from Santo Tirso. Still a decent selection of pastries on a Saturday evening. The workers spoke English. - Jésuita (0,90€) - smaller piece, hence the price. Not too sweet, meringue was nice. - Limonete (1,30€) - puff pastry with meringue and lemon filling. Not much taste. Always interesting to try spots that specialize in certain pastries.

Great service, lady Has explained to us what is their speciality, showed us how to eat, and in general was very helpful. Super cheap, good quality, great for a quick coffee

Came here to try their famous Jesuitas and it didn't discount. It's light and flaky and not overly sweet. It goes well with coffee or tea.

Traditional bakery in Oporto. Quality is unbelievable, I honestly don’t think it gets better than this when it comes to regional bakery. And really, really, cheap.

Had some pastries and coffee at this place. There were quite tasty, would recommend. Inside/outdoor seating is available.

Jesuitas are so good! Best "light" pastry I've had in Porto.
