We loved the coxinha!! And Tudor Burger. My daughters 1st experience with Brazilian street food! I haven't been in years & its still as excellent as I remember...we'll be back for more amazing Brazilian food!!

Wonderful staff, wonderful atmosphere. It’s my first time trying pastéis, and I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the portions were. The crispy texture of the pastry was perfectly complemented by the filling, for which I got the shop’s recommendation of chicken with heart of palm. The texture of the heart of palm goes so well with the pastry that I am keen to try another heart of palm filling next time. It was a delightful experience.

Apr 2024: Enjoyed the meal, this place was recommended to me and it was quite delicious had some pasteles which are a fried rectangular dish stuffed with your choice— I had cheese and pastel de palmito. It is quite greasy so make sure you get some napkins. There is a large language barrier where the members speak only in Portuguese which is a minor problem although had a tough time communicating for the wait time. They make these fresh so be prepared to wait. It also gets pretty hot inside so may feel uncomfortable on a hot day. It’s a cute little shop and highly recommend supporting local shops!

Ooh, I love this place, I can't believe I didn't notice it until recently. Although small, it exudes a cozy atmosphere with the sweetest staff and most delicious delights. Traditional Brazilian handy foodies to grab and go, or sit and enjoy with a coffee or some Guarana soda. Make sure to try a sandwich.

I normally love their food however there must have been a drop in quality control. I bought 3 mousse de Maracujá this morning as a gifts for my friends only to find out when I arrived that there was mold in them. Check what you buy before you leave. It’s difficult to tell but I know it’s moldy because the spots of blue are furry in comparison to the rest of the cream

Nice pastelitos! The girl at the cash register spoke good English, Spanish and Portuguese which is helpful. She was also very helpful and patient taking the time to explain to me what things where and the prices. I got a cavasa coconut pudding bread , flan, and a chocolate hazelnut cake bomb. I also had beef and cheese and onion pastelitos which were so good right out the fryer. Only thing was that it was kind of expensive for what I got. Pastelitos where 7$ each, casava coconut bread 3$, flan 4$, chocolate bomb 3.50$, 2L soda 5$. I recommend the pastelitos for sure!

This pastelaria reminded me of home. It was a mix of a small grocery store serving local Brazilian treats and a typical “padaria”. I enjoyed a coxinha with catupiry (traditional teardrop-shaped fried snack filled with shredded chicken and creamy catupiry cheese) and pasteis de palmito and cheese with my family. The fillings were GENEROUS and the pasteis were all made on the spot, FRESH. While there was a considerable wait time, it was well worth it. If you’re thinking about eating in, this pastelaria is a cozier place with eight tables that can seat two people each. Parking around here can be a bit tricky. There are 3 parking spots right in front of the pastelaria. If they happen to be filled, I suggest going to the Stop & Shop parking lot about a block away.

Google
If you go there, you MUST eat a PASTEL. My sensation is that they owned a pastelaria in Brazil before coming to the US. All other food there is below average. The sweets are full of sugar. And the products in the shelves not the best quality, BUT the pastel is exceptional!

Yelp
Different twist on classic food . It's a small deli style shop . There are a few seating inside . It's pricey .always check your order before leaving . I didn't and they forgot some stuff

Nicolly M.

Yelp
They have to improve their customer service! Tem que melhorar o atendimento! I order my food and I expect to know how much and how long is going to take, that's standard for all food chains, once I order my food with them they just say "Okay and hang up". Like where have you seen something like that ?!

Yelp
I've been coming here for Brazilian fast food since middle school, I'm 28 now. They have so many goodies: Brazilian burgers, sugar cane juice, delicious hot, deep fried pasteis with all kinds of fillings, and sweets. This place is my go-to for party food. They make salgadinhos which are classic party finger food. When we have a birthday or other event I make sure to put in my order. When we go over to friends' houses too, these are a hit. I call the day before and put the order in, they fry them up right before you pick-up so everything is hot, fresh, and crispy!

Yelp
Really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. Absolutely love cute little local restaurants that have their own flair and this place screams that. Their pastels really are the crown jewel item, so crunchy and huge!!! The burger was filled with toppings, only took off one star cause I felt like the burger patty itself was not smoke/grilled enough. To me it felt like a frozen patty dethawed and cooked on the griddle but other than that I will definitely be back for their pastels!!!

Yelp
Found this bakery/ lunch spot on yelp during one of my late night yelp restaurant searching trip and decided to visit it the next day. This small bakery shop in somerville in very legit, authentic (in my opinion lol ) and cheap. Food came with generous amount and the servers were all very nice! Definitely recommend this place! I came to the bakery shop around 1:30 pm on a Saturday and there were a few people inside ordering food. They all spoke in Portuguese (I guess, aka some language that I don't understand and figured that Portuguese might be the best guess ;^) That immediately told me how authentic the food here was if locals would like to come. I ordered a cup of sugar cane juice, and Pastel Vitoria and a random chicken filled pastry that I don't know the name in their display window. The servers were super nice; they don't speak Really good English (another hint that the food here would be legit) but they tried their best to explain to me what everything is. After I got the pastry, I just seated in one of the few tables they had inside the shop and waited for My food. I had my chicken pastry first while waiting for the other food to be ready. The outside pastry hd a very strong butter aroma. It was very flaky and crunchy, which I really enjoyed it. The chicken inside was also well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Then the server gave me the sugar cane juice and also handed me some of their sauces from a cabinet (mayo and homemade spicy sayce etc.). The sugar cane juice was a must get! I was freshly squeezed from sugar cane: fresh, refreshing and sweet. It reminded me of all the sugar cane juice and good memories I had when I was a kid back in China. Very delicious! Then the Pastel came. It took some time for them to prepare for it because it was fried to order (~10mins). That's how they kept it not greasy at all. I was surprised by the size and the generous fillings they put in the inside. It was huuuuuuuge and it was only $6! What a good deal! I took a bite and I felt like I was in heaven XD Very crunchy outside with well seasoned fillings of cheese, chicken, beef and palm hearts. Very creamy and super delicious! As a woman with a very small stomach, I finished it all! I guess that could tell how good the food here was :) Really recommend this place if you live or happen to be nearby. It really worths a visit!

Yelp
There are a lot of grey, boring areas of Boston. But Somerville is decorated with beautiful colours, Pastel colours in fact. It's know, for this reason, as the "Pastel-area." Which is how this restaurant got its name. OK, fine, I made that up. A Pastelaria is a Brazilian place that makes Pastels, and my goodness, does this place make them so, freaking, well. What to get: The Pastel with everything (the mixed one) What to drink: Abacaxi Com Hortela (pineapple with mint) So what is it? It's a massive enormous huge large (did I mention big) version of the typical Latin Empanada, but with all kinds of amazing things stuffed in there, and I'm talking a large, generous helping of stuff inside this huge fried goodie, which is less than ten dollars and will definitely fill you up. It's also piping hot and greasy and juicy and will fall apart easily, so you have been warned. You play with a hot pastel, you'll get burned. Always get the one that has everything in it, first. Various meats, hearts of palm, all kinds of spices and deliciousness. Amazing. Easily the best one I've ever had outside Brasil, and in fact it ranks right up there with some of the better ones I had in Brasil. I can't give it a higher compliment than that. One of the best things you can eat in Boston, nearly as good as the amazing Oasis Steakhouse and Oasis Bakery (also Brazilian) just down the road. You really need to visit all three to get a good sense of the amazing-ness of Brazilian food. The drinks are pretty good, especially the Abacaxi Com Hortela (pineapple with mint), as well as all the other tropical amazon fruit flavours, and there are all kinds of frozen treats like Acai, and candy from Brazil to choose from, as well as baked goods. You can eat them the guy-way, or the broad-way, but either way you'll be so happy you came to this Pastelaria, if you happen to be in the Pastel-area.

Yelp
Would highly recommend this place. The owner suggested the shrimp cheese pastel, it was a delight! The chicken cheese Coxinha was my fave!

Yelp
There is a certain punny, prolific, polarizing (so what if I like alliteration?) Yelper who is prone to bemoaning the dearth of love lavished upon humble Mom & Pop eateries, serving up honest, delicious food at real people prices. He may be on to something. Indeed. I am shocked to see that only 37 reviews have been posted for this spot, going all the way back to 2008. It deserves so much better: Anyway, hubby, kid, and I were here to try a Pastel. Since it was our first time, we had zero idea what to expect. Should you feel similarly, I'd describe a Pastel as a GINORMOUS deep-fried cross between a hot pocket and, with its pockmark-dappled dough, an egg roll. Since we'd stopped beforehand for uh, appetizers at Union Square Donuts, which for the record, is a short drive away, hubby and I decided to share a Vitoria Pastel, filled with chicken, ham, beef, cheese, and hearts of palm. It turned out to be the best thing we ate in a long weekend filled with some stiff competition from the likes of Lamejun, a Matcha Cream & Azuki Bean Paste-filled Croissant, an Acai Bowl, and Posh Seafood. The kid, who much to Mama's chagrin, often orders the most boring sounding thing on the menu, stayed true to form with a ground beef-stuffed Pastel, aka Pastel de Carne. Admittedly, the filling with this one could've used some pizazz. Luckily, when hubby had requested hot sauce earlier on, a friendly staff person brought that over, along with mayo and ketchup, yes, ketchup, to jazz up our Pastels. We washed all this down with Pineapple Mint Juice, which tasted almost like an elevated slurpy to me, but with chunkier and less ice. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, but the mint was too subtle, imo, so I'd probably order something different next time. Word to the Wise: A huge reason why these flaky, non-greasy Pastels are so spectacular is that they are fried-to-order. So be prepared to wait. Your patience will be deliciously rewarded. Also note that seating is minimal and there is no restroom as far as I could tell. ps Shhh... Don't tell Buzzfeed, but when it's freezing out, and you just happen to be roadtripping, you can hack your car trunk for use as a 'refrigerator' to transport perishable food back home. We got another Vitoria Pastel to-go and did exactly that. My only regret is getting just one.

Yelp
Was food delicious? Yes. Are masks required? Yes. Is service prompt? I got my order within 10 minutes, and my order had sugarcane juice, a hot sandwich, and a pastel. Pastel was larger than the sandwich, very big. So yes.

Yelp
Here is a place that is just plain good! It doesn't look like much, and may even be over looked often being a mom and pop kind of place but I loved it! It seems that this is quite the authentic little spot to grab some seriously good Brazilian fare. This was my fiancee's pick, and these are the things he remembers from home, and decided to share with me on our spontaneous excursion. The menu is on a big board as soon as you walk in, and is the backdrop to the seating area where I'd say there's probably room for about a dozen to sit and eat their treats. I personally took home 3 containers of goodies that I've shamelessly eaten with great speed, eagerness, and surprisingly little milk. I can't pronounce any of these things, but even so I will be back to try some more off of these delicious snacks and sandwiches. We both ordered a combo that came with a chicken and cheese filled fried dough, as well as a 16oz fresh juice drink. I purchased the pineapple with mint to drink, and he chose a sugarcane drink. We also ordered these other delectable fried balls with chicken inside as well. The fried dough sandwich came out piping hot and fresh from the fryer, with a perfectly golden brown color. On the inside was shredded chicken, green onion & what tasted like cream cheese. It was hot, chewy dough, and the filling was super tasty and I'd say something that tastes good to a lot of different palettes. To take home, I purchased some small shortbread cookies that have a nice dollop of guava puree, and are coated in fine granulated sugar. They're quite light, buttery, and just plain yummy!!! I also picked up some cone shaped pastry with caramel filling inside. Sweet, smooth, not too gooey and not overly sweet. The last little thing was a small container of candy that are chocolate and the white ones are coconut, almost like truffles but not as rich. I was in love at first bite! I feel like the service was nice, though the young lady who checked me out didn't understand or speak English. She was helpful and kind all the same. The establishment also seemed very clean and organized. We will be back!!!

Yelp
Delicious dumplings for an affordable price. I do recommend their Juice and Pastel. If you vegetarian try Palmito (Hearts Palm) Pastel. Nice staffs and good service. Pessoal bem bacana.

Yelp
Kind of want to keep that spot secret. It's usually full but you still get a spot to seat most of the time. The food is delicious. And the best part? The staff knows what they are talking about. Also everyone should take a Guarana with their burger! I don't enjoy sodas but this one is something else.

Yelp
LOUCO! Eu estava literalmente lá na semana passada e tenho a mesma coisa e eles me cobraram $ 9.

Yelp
My friend from work brought me some delicious Portuguese pastries. This place is bomb! I can't wait to venture there and check out their other food!!!

Yelp
The food tastes like it does in Brazil. I had a pastel and a vitamina de açai. So good.

Yelp
Best Brazilian "pastel" (empanadas) in the Boston area. Brazilian empanadas are different than the other Latino countries, the dough is lighter and airy, and at "Vitoria" it's made to order so you can choose the filling. Cheap and delicious eats . Desserts are great too

Yelp
Amazing food! I just got the X egg burger. OMG- ham, cheese, an egg , corn, tomato, lettuce, mayo, all on a Portugese roll! This is definitely a meal - size burger. I also love the space. The menu is in both Portuguese and English, and the customers are all speaking Portuguese - it's like going on a mini -vacation to Brazil!

Yelp
I love hole in the wall which prides itself on no frills cuisine and that's exactly what this establishment is. My friend and I ventured here looking for flan after brunch in Cambridge. Boy were we in for a surprise. The place is small but it was occupied by families eating their freshly made pastels. Apparently, that is their specialty together with burgers topped with fried potato sticks. We got our flan to go and it tasted great. The store smells delicious. It's off the beaten path but it warrants another follow up visit to try their other offerings. Parking is challenging. Off street parking if you can find it.

Yelp
Love this place. Pastel are amazing. The sandwiches are to die for. Everything is fresh, carefully made and with high quality and love. The staff is a plus. Nice and attentive. That is my goto place for tailgates and small events for my children sports events, and for my family have some great and delicious comfort food.

Yelp
This place is receiving 5 stars specifically because they sell and make on site this special "Sugar Water" which they grind from actual raw sugar cane right in front of your eyes. This is no normal sugar water, do not expect Kool-Aid. This is an earthy/grassy sweet beverage that I tried in Central America a few years back and figured it was a local delicacy. I was so happy to find this place and that they produce such a unique beverage locally. I will be back to try their sandwiches and pastries.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite, and got to say, the whole experience felt legit. The menu is in Portuguese, the staff are helpful, and the food is quick. Got the X-Burgers, and it was tasty! Could've gone without the corn, honestly, but glad I tried it. Thanks, Pastelaria :)

Yelp
I wanted to love it here I really did. I love trying new cuisines especially in Little not much to look at places like this. They usually have the best stuff. I think my disappointment came with the seasoning used in this cuisine just fell a little flat on me. Nothing here was bad just not wow for me. I did like actually live the postolitto pastry crust. It's not grease ash not to crumbly so it's neat and sturdy, held all the filling well. It need some spicy ness which I added. I didn't care for the hearts of palm which there was the most of. I wish this crust was how all empanada dough was. The Chicken soup was very bland and an odd texture, I really didn't like it as well as the hot dog wrapped in dough. It was very dry and was overcooked. I liked the Fresh squeezed orange juice even though I opted to not have it the usual way with extra sugar (I didn't actually know that was thing). I did pick up some candy that was unfamiliar and really enjoyed it.

Yelp
I love this place. A few years ago, I lived in the neighborhood and would come in regularly for lunch and snacks. It's a modest little spot, but you don't want to miss it. Try a pastel! I've tried several savory fillings, and was never disappointed. So good. I moved further out, and I STILL make the trek over there to at least pick up some frozen pao de queijo to bake at home (it's a dreamy Brazilian cheese bread.) Don't get the branded bag, make sure you buy the frozen dough that they make in-house. It's incredible.

Yelp
When it comes to rules of thumb for reviewing restaurants, "you lose one star for every consecutive week that the flabby, crumbling dude in a stained, droopy t-shirt who sweats behind the counter and flips your burgers hasn't showered" is a pretty inflexible one... though in this case, I think cutting just one star is probably a bit generous. On the plus side, the hamburgers are ridiculous enough to make the place worth braving captain flopsweat and his gruff, short-order-cook banter, all of which is in Portuguese. Don't get your heart set on any one order or price, as he'll just assemble something at random based on what he wishes you'd said. The meat itself is just a standard, well-done puck of patty probably pulled off of a frozen stack somewhere, but the fixin's are like nothing I've experienced before. Corn, "potato sticks" (basically, strips of Ruffles potato chips), ham, eggs, lettuce... all stuffed into a Portugese sweet bread bun so cavernous it could have held a second puck patty without breaking a sweat. The same could not be said for me, however. I had to stop halfway through and haul the rest of that behemoth home for later. Despite the name, this is not really the joint for pastries (just hit up Patsy's next door), but I have a feeling it's a completely authentic Brazilian greasy spoon experience, so it's got that going for it.

Yelp
My favorite brazilian bakery in Massachusetts!! The food is to die for and the staff is always friendly!! They have a lot of pastel flavors and everything is fresh made!! Definitely the best brazilian place!!!

Yelp
Super casual spot (read-hole in the wall..these are the best). This was quite the excellent Yelp find and the prices were quite reasonable as well. I had the X-Galinhawhich is a chicken sandwich with just about everything amazing you can imagine on it. You'll see it and think you can't eat it - and then it's gone. The actual pastry menu (various stuffed pastries with meats and cheese) is nothing short of incredible. I tried the chicken and cheese, the beef and cheese and at least one other. Definitely a great spot to go - particularly if you have someone to share the calories with. If you're going all in, try the coxinha too wth chicken. It's also a grocery store with Brazilian and other international foods. My 4 year old daughter was particularly excited about some Italian chocolate confections.

Yelp
Love this place so much!! Come whenever I can. The best pastel is the chicken, cheese and cream cheese one.

Yelp
First off, the delicious juices are amaaaaazing! So fresh, so bright, flavorful, and refreshing. I got acerola com loranja, and id highly recommend it. Super fresh oj, like Miami style or even better. An important point is that you really either need to speak Portuguese or be unafraid of pointing and rolling with it. I speak just enough Portuguese, and they were patient and helpful as I gathered my thoughts because I never actually spoke Portuguese to anyone before, and I wasn't really expecting to any time soon :0. Prices were reasonable. The burgers are 5 stars, but the meal plates are not quite as good. I got the special, the frango acebolado, or onion chicken. It was tasty, but the garlic was overpowering, not because they used too much, but because it was burned, cooked too long or too high. I love garlic, but it is awful when burned because of becomes overpowering. It was a great portion for the price though. I'd stick with the pasteis or burgers, which is what all of the locals seem to get. The cakes looked amazingly drool worthy too. I tasted the filling of my husband's burger, and it was amazing! It was very similar to Colombian burgers, but instead of the sauces, the Brazilian version uses deliciously sweet and crunchy corn! Oh yeah, they definitely did get our order wrong too. No, I didn't order the wrong thing because the lady at the counter confirmed, and the right thing was on my ticket. However, we got the chicken sandwich, not the even yummier xtudo. For some reason, the cook appeared to have crossed the xtudo with the fact that i also ordered a chicken plate but anyway, it was delicious and the same price, so whatever. In short, unforgettably amazing juice, good prices, great burgers, clean and sunny place to sit and chill for a bit or carry out. Oh yeah, there's a market too. Try the yummy Brazilian bon truffles.

Yelp
This is legit Brazilian food. Best pastel you could ever find in MA. My favorite is with chicken and cream cheese. Order it with one of their juices, simply amazing. Everything is delicious with a very reasonable price.

Yelp
Are you Japanese or Chinese? I felt like we were perhaps the only Asians to have come in here and in an attempt to have a cultural exchange we spoke in broken Spanish and English to each other and tried to order food. My partner was craving flan, so we drove around looking for a place to sit and have a dessert and this place was a more than perfect place to stop for the afternoon. If you drive down Broadway towards Sullivan, you will find a small bakery and sandwich shop next to a bright green travel agency. PB sells tons of candies desserts, drinks, sandwiches, other snacks and some groceries. When we got there we had a hard time ordering since everything was in Spanish and we weren't too familiar with Brazilian pastry or dessert. and no one spoke English. But eventually the owner found someone to help us and we were all set, we were told of the passion fruit mousse, flan, coconut candy, chocolate cake, corn mousse, and other display case items, and since there were so many goodies, we got a few. We started with passion fruit mousse, flan, and coconut candy and since I am vegan I can only tell you personally about the candy which was homemade and deliciously rich and sweet. I loved how it melted in my mouth and flaked at the same time- you must love coconut though since it was strong. My partner liked the mousse but said it was richer than most and that the flan was rich as well but had the perfect flavor. I also have to mention that everything here is super cheap. I think the most expensive thing is 8 bucks bet really everything is in the 1-3 dollar range. While we sat, we saw dozens of people come in and out to buy some of the savory snacks and sandwiches so we thought that they must be good- so we grabbed a to go menu and felt stupid since it included English translation. So my partner got a chicken and cheese filled dough ball which was said to be Brazil's fav snack food and thought it was ok. She didn't like the deep fried aspect of it. This is the part of the story that warms my heart. The owners of the place came over and gave us a free meat stuffed cassava roll cut in two which was so nice. It felt like they were welcoming us to the neighborhood. I was so touched and this is when he starts asking us if we were Chinese or Japanese. Our conversation wasn't one that was completely understood through language but big smiles, light laughs, and a thumbs up. I have never felt so welcomed at a place before and I have fallen in love with 192 Broadway. I don't care if any one thinks I am lame, but I was reminded today that human souls can connect across many barriers and that a small gesture can make a day or change a life. This was really a great start to my week.

Yelp
Great Brazilian street food. Casual atmosphere. THe food is authentic and fresh. Imo a slight step above some of the other places in the area.

Yelp
One of the best cheap meals I have ever had had today. Steak sandwich with ham, bacon and a fried egg, all on a large toasted bun. Girlfriend had a chicken pastry with Heart of Palm. Both were absolutely delicious, would urge anyone to go here to try out these Brazilian sandwiches, a real experience worth having!

Yelp
Want to have a delicious yet super awkward ordering experience, well then you found your place. This is only one stop on the good-eats train of East Somerville. It's part bakery, part sandwich shop, with a side of convenience store. First, the sandwiches. Grab a paper menu from near the register unless you are fluent in Portuguese or can say what you know you want. I've had the chicken which was LOADED with strange items such as potato sticks, ham, corn, and egg(!?) and the usual like cheese, lettuce and tomato. I brought the boy a hamburger to go that had much of the same things. It was DELICIOUS! Side note: Bring a friend, or bring the food to friends. I don't think I could eat one of these mammoth creations myself. Honestly it was approximately 6 inches in diameter and three inches tall. The best part?? The price. It was a mere 4.50 for each sandwich, and if you split a sandwich between two people? That's an affordable meal. And since it's so affordable you shouldn't leave here without dessert. Pointing works well for deserts in the case you can go "What's that and get a mismash answer like, "corn, dessert" or 'Chocolate, bon bon." I've had the flan which was good, the corn mousse (YUM) and the 'chocolate bon bon' which was sort of a trifle of different puddings of chocolate and coconut with a halfed candy on top. It almost tasted like an almond joy. Also, the people are very friendly, they try very hard to help you find what you want AND the customers like to tell you what to try, as a lot of them are bi-lingual. I had three different suggestions while in there! So.. don't be shy, go here and start pointing and looking confused. Then eat delicious food.

Yelp
park in a metered spot. open the door and get in line. read menu posted on wall - grab printed one on paper since it's translated. place order for sanduiche and pastel. pastelaria has 27 varieties ranging from plain old cheese to shrimp to doce de leite. what's a pastel? easy: it's a deep fried pouch stuffed with one or two of the fillings, house made and served hot. the sandwich i ordered was the X Tudo - recommended by another yelper. the portugese bun was enormous and barely contained the meat of the sandwich. bun envelops a hamburger patty, ham, cheese melted, egg, bacon, potato stix, lettuce, corn, tomato and mayo. seriously, the most ridiculous sandwich I've ever had. incredibly well put together and contained in a perfectly sealed foil wrapper. INCREDIBLE. loads of desserts, salads and other baked goods available for hire. find it and get there.

Yelp
"You hungry?" "Yea." "What do you want?" "Whatever." "Sandwiches." "Cool." [Yelps.] "OMG. Get off the interstate NOW." [Diving across traffic. Screaming possibly ensued.] And that's how we ended up at the Pastelaria Vitoria Broadway. It was my dad's first experience with Yelp. I'm glad it turned out well. Be warned. It's Brazilian. The menu's in Brazilian (most things have an English translation). The staff all speaks Brazilian. I didn't even know there was a Brazilian community so large in Boston. You have been warned. It's a small little family-owned and operated restaurant. There's a little convenience store in the back. Service was quick, efficient. Know what you want folks. I got a pastel -- duh -- my dad got one of the sandwiches. My father gobbled it up like it was the last meal on the planet. I chewed on the pastel. First off, the pastel was big. Way, way too much food. Also, there was corn in it, which I didn't expect, and it was little off somehow. I couldn't figure it out but it definitely wasn't exactly right for some reason. But it was good. My dad really enjoyed his sandwich. Oh, and order just one side of fries. There's a lot of fries in that basket. Price wasn't bad either. Two drinks, one fry, two sandwiches... all under $20. And my dad developed a little respect for Yelp that day, so wins all around. :-) Stop by if you're in the area, definitely.

Yelp
Freshly made Pastels. Add anything you want from chicken, cream cheese, beef, cheesy fillings... bananas and cinnamon. It's like eating a light fried dough in heaven. However, if you are diet conscious - pick a day you'd like to splurge. Since the calories are way up there. Oh yes, amazing over the top burgers with potato sticks. Make sure you have someone to share with you though. The size is humongous. Although most of the people don't speak english. Just get down the basics and point. You'll do fine.

Yelp
I am craving an X-Tudo and a bacula pastry. The chicken and cheese is amazing too. I love their food here and the staff is really nice there too. I just moved to Houston and have not found anything as amazing. This might require a trip back to Boston really soon. Check out the cheese bread as well!!!!

Yelp
Go here. Get the X Tudo. It's a huge sandwich with bacon, ham, beef, corn and some crazy sauces. It's very tasty and the bun is soft. It may be the best sandwich I've had in Massachusetts. It's been a while since I've eaten there, but I want to show my respect before I move out of East Somerville. This is worth a trip. If you're in Union, it's right by you and you probably don't even know it. The people here mostly speak Portugese and Spanish, but they are very friendly. If you need help communicating, there are many bilingual customers.

Yelp
Fresh oj! Had me sold on that! Getting freshly squeezed OJ is very hard to find. Also the food - pastels and salagado were pretty yum... A must to check out. You can dine in, but I prefer a take out from here.

Yelp
Wow.....this is a genuine hidden gem for that person who loves going off the beaten path. This is one of those neighborhood places that is well below the radar screen. This establishment is a neighborhood Brazilian bakery and restaurant. One day, I was in the area to get my car fixed and stopped in for a coffee and now I keep going back. The sandwiches, salads, and pastries are great and the prices are really affordable. The portions are hearty, a good place for the hungry guys. The Brazilian sandwiches are good, this is the real deal a different kind of meal, a different sandwich recipe. The special of the day is written in Portuguese on a small white board aside the larger menu. I had a chicken filet dish on salad ...that was a fresh tasy and filling meal. The people who work here are friendly, lots of shiny happy people working here. Although, many of the employees do struggle with English with a smile. Counter service only. The wall menu is partially translated. There is a paper menu that has a more extensive translation The dining area is small, 10 - 12 two person tables. Here your having lunch at a bakery, not a fancy dining room. There is street parking and a parking lot out back

Yelp
Came here for lunch and got the 'normal' sized X-tugo. It has 4 different kinds of protein from 3 different animals. With corn and potato chips.... All in the same sandwich. For $6.

Yelp
Been here twice for sandwiches to go. Both times, they got my order wrong, putting cheese on when asked for no cheese, and on the last occasion also forgetting the fries. They are friendly enough, at least. Actually, the last visit was going to be for dine-in, but the place was absolutely filthy. Food scraps on every table and all over the floor. Place is as seedy as it looks from the outside. Yes, they stack a bunch of neat things on your sandwich(egg, corn, ham, potato sticks, etc.), but the quality is low.

Yelp
This place is a hidden jewel. The owner comes from my mothers city in Brazil and his cuisine has brought people from all over boston; surrounding cities just to get a lil piece of Brazilian pastels. They are a type of fast food made to order, a thin dough enclosed, stuffed with a grand choice of fillings and deep fried. This pastelaria cooks amazing food either prepared in the AM or cooked to order either way extremely fresh and seasoned well. They have a x-tudo which is a mega burger with all the fixings complete with a egg over medium inside. They are affordable and even have a section in the place where you can buy Brazilian products/groceries. This place dedicated a mini fridge to cold ketchup and mayo kept in bottles, located near the tables for customers to enjoy their food with. Getting trendy by the day is freshly squeezed orange juice which they've had one for a good amount of time having me quence my thirty with a glass. Def go try it out and see for yourself how the owners passion comes out thru his food. Cheers and obrigado!

Yelp
Amazing combination of fresh meat and vegetables in a crispy light roll English translation on menu makes ordering easy, excellent value! Amazed students in Cambridge have not discovered this place! I will spread the word at MIT

Yelp
If you don't speak Portuguese, communication is tough. However, the food is really good. The sandwiches are huge and don't cost much either.

Yelp
Kibe, coxinha, pao de quejo, and pastel are all amazing. The x tudo is a little toomuch for me but regardless you get a ton offood for a good price. Staff is always friendly and they open early which is nice (great hangover cure)

Yelp
For a long time I was obsessed with empanadas. Then I was introduced to pastels and realized I had been missing out. I had the pastel craving today. It's been a really bad day, after a really bad few weeks, and I just needed the comfort of delicious meat inside a crispy (on the edges) and soft (in the middle) doughy case. Yelp pointed me here, close to work, and it totally saved my day. The pastels were great, the chicken was my favorite. The staff were all smiling and super nice and really made me ready to face the rest of my day. Thank you guys so much, I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

Yelp
Best pastel I have had outside of Brazil. They also offer a nice, but small, selection of Brazilian groceries.

Yelp
Definitely a great restaurant for some brazilian burgers. Though I think just the burger is enough, because the special meal deal isn't really that special.
