The Best Montreal Restaurant Merch to Gift This Year | Eater Montreal

"I’d choose Etna Pastificio’s stunning handmade ceramic oil dispenser as a more elevated gift—the dispenser is sold alone ($65) or as a gift set with Maldon salt, a small dish, and extra virgin olive oil ($128)." - Valerie Silva

Etna, a Mediterranean Aperitivo Bar, Has Settled in Villeray | Eater Montreal

"On the corner of Henri-Julien on Jarry Street between St-Laurent and St-Denis, this new wine bar from Claudia Fancello and Sergio Conde is inspired by Mediterranean aperitivo bars and rooted in the pair’s backgrounds (Conde from Malaga, Fancello with Sardinian family ties). They’ve returned to their restaurant roots to create an apero-focused spot offering charcuterie and cheese planchettes made with Quebec produce and a range of small plates blending Italian and Andalusian influences — notably albondigas made to Conde’s mother’s recipe with a saffron-almond sauce and a sweet-and-sour, vegan-friendly caponata with polenta devised by Fancello. The menu is deliberately affordable ($4–$18) because they live in the neighbourhood and want an accessible, friendly spot. The wine list is “succinct but really curated,” mostly private imports with an emphasis on natural and organic options and glasses starting at $8; aperitivo-style drinks like vermouth, Negronis, spritzes and a non-alcoholic spritz are also available. The cozy interior, redesigned by architect Michael Hall with custom lighting by Conde, is a modern take on a late‑’70s vibe featuring lots of gold, wood and Mediterranean‑style teal‑green tiles, and the owners plan to add more artwork over time. Etna is open at 244 Jarry E (currently 4–10 p.m. Thursday and Sunday, 4–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; closed Monday–Wednesday with plans to expand)." - Tim Forster

You can feel the love in every bite at Pastificio Etna. The pasta is clearly handmade with care — soft, silky, and full of soul. It tastes like something straight out of Italy . Watching them craft it fresh right in front of you makes the whole experience even better. Simple, honest, and absolutely unforgettable.

Etna is a charming, low-key, humble pasta shop that specializes in home-made, high quality pastas. You can buy them fresh by the kilogram or opt for frozen options as well. They are a bit pricey but the quality is top notch! My favourite is their lunch service where they serve cooked pasta with their selected menu and they always have a special dish of the week. However, the lunch service only operates for 2 hours from 12-2 pm on Monday-Friday which makes it extremely difficult to dine there when you're working 🥲. The seating area is quite limited and it can feel quite cramped as well. This is the reason I took off one star for that however, if you're on vacation and live in the area, the lunch service is absolutely amazing and delicious!

This pasta shop mainly sells fresh handmade pasta, but it offers a cooked menu in-store during weekdays at noon, serving lunch for only 2 hours, making it quite a challenge to get😂 I ordered the meat pasta and pesto pasta. The taste is really close to that of local Italian cuisine! (The first and third items on the menu in picture four) The portion of pasta is not too large, and the accompanying sauce doesn't have an excessive amount of cheese, avoiding greasiness. Although the dining environment isn't very fancy, the overall cleanliness and service are quite good 😌 There are red wines available in the shop, which you can order by the glass or buy a whole bottle.

Really really good pasta. We were in town visiting family and did not want to miss the 2 hour lunch service window. Luckily, we made it just in time. The owners were incredibly hospitable and everyone in the family enjoyed a bit of everything. My MIL loved the pomodoro so much, she bought extra to take home. Highly recommend!

Absolute little gem! Delicious well-made pastas to cook at home or dine-in for lunch, and great wine & cider selection (one of the only storefronts you can buy Revel cider in Montreal). My favourite pastificio in the city, give them a visit!

The BEST fresh pasta in the city. The lady who owns it is so lovely. Great selection of wine too.
