Google
The single best Patagonia retail store I’ve ever been to. Seriously, shop here. Incredible staff and awesome inventory. I came here needing a super last minute return & recommendation for a new coat in advance of seriously heavy duty cold temperatures I’d be facing the next day. I was helped by the 2 coolest women in Austin. They set me up with a Jackson glacier parka I’ll cherish. Not at all what I would have selected - and I’m so thankful I trusted them, because it’s seriously nasty. Thanks a million y’all!!!!!! You do justice to a wonderful brand.

Google
Jessica is amazing and the customer service is unlike no other! Brought in my 10 year old black hole style messenger bag that has been thru mountains and all across the world after being informed that I could bring in old bags and get them repaired. They were not able to repair it exactly the way it used to be so they offered me a credit to buy a new bag. I was able to get something I loved and I’ll never forget how she went above and beyond. This location is fantastic and Jessica made my week! I’ll never buy from another company for my gear again :)

Google
I had been meaning to buy a down jacket for several months, and when I saw the Patagonia on Congress Ave., I ducked right in. The service was outstanding: I got to try on several sizes in a few different styles, and I got thoughtful guidance on color issues, because I don't see color well. Great selection of styles and sizes; patient, attentive staff.

Google
Great Patagonia store - very knowledgable and friendly associates. We’ve come to purchase, return, and repair their gear. Staff are always happy to help. I wish they’d open one up in Houston area - it’s a far commute to Austin!

Jacquelyn P.

Google
One of the best customer services experiences. Jessica went above and beyond. I did not find what I was looking for but that was not through lack of effort from this wonderful staff! I absolutely will go back. I have not felt this taken care of or respected by retail staff in true downtown Austin in a while. Great store. Great products. Great staff. Ask for Jessica!

Google
This Patagonia store has an uncommonly large selection compared to most I've visited. As with all Patagonia I've been in, the staff was friendly and super-helpful. There was a good selection of summer, winter, technical, casual, and non-heavily branded clothing (for those who don't like in-your-face branding). If you're in the area and you like Patagonia as a brand, this store is worth a visit.

Joseph A.

Google
Traveling across the country to every Patagonia store, this was my 8th store and found the building and associates super helpful in my experience purchasing their store specific items and donating to local Austin bat refuge for a screen print shirt.

Nestor S.

Google
I brought in a few items that I purchased from Patagonia a long time ago, one about 17 years ago, for repair. They repaired the items and then shipped them directly to my residential address. Posting to encourage others to both buy at this location and to consider the value that is delivered by this brand: they're serious about the lifetime warranty.

Yelp
Incredible kind and helpful employees. The store is super neat. A bit expensive for my taste, but I was just there to get Christmas gifts anyway.

Yelp
It's a nice little store. Who doesn't love some Patagonia. Great gear but the prices can be a little tough ya know. Funny - this was listed as an outlet. (I think we have different meanings of the word.) Plenty of selection and the vibes are good, but there's a lot of other places to score your pat gear and catch a deal.

Daniel C.

Yelp
i love this store. it makes me feel like i'm in NYC or something. great vibes, but i always forget it's there!
google avatar

Yelp
Love the company and this store, you guys are crushing it! I've come here 3 or 4 times for returns and swaps from for online orders, customer service is on point and one of the sales reps even handed me a tasty non-alcohol brewski while I was browsing! Shoutout to Jackie working her discount magic every time I've stopped in. Only improvement I'd like to see in the future is for the company to start making more gear in America like Origin and Anywhere Shirts and other companies are trying to do; revitalizing domestic supply chains is what's best for the environment and the country. Other than that, I'm a fan! This place is a model for how any business's retail outlet should be

Yelp
Great customer service, variety nice but not all color options available but will ship to you for no cost.

Yelp
The store downtown is actually pretty big. Very clean and refreshing from the hot outside. They had a lot of options at this location for women's clothing. They also had a very cute austin Patagonia shirt!!

Yelp
Couldn't find parking to even go in. :( would be better if they had parking for Patagonia shoppers

Yelp
Patagonia Austin was our first stop yesterday after we flew in from Florida and were surprised by cooler than expected temps. I purchased the pointed parka from the sweet people at Austin Patagonia and I wore it every. Single. Day. Of the trip. I do not know what I would've done without it. Priced at a little over $250 I was nervous, "was it worth it?" But by the time we went home flight included I had worn it the entirety of the 5 day trip. Beyond worth it. For anyone looking for a parka this one rocks because it's got a clean line to it that would looks good over dress clothes or it's fine for kicking it a series of outdoor events. It has a hood with zipper that can go on or off with pull string around the crown of the head to tighten over face. Inside pocket at breast level for credit cards and ID. Long enough to fit my sunglasses. Long zip pockets on left and right sides. Double zip all the way up the front of the coat. I had debated getting their standard pillowy long black coat but this coat has function for days. Being from south Florida I know I will get more use out of this jacket. I'm obsessed.

Yelp
Shout out to Paula for helping us so much! She is awesome. Super helpful and enthusiastic! Thank you!

Yelp
Patagonia products are the Bomb! Love their Black Hole bags for travel. The clothing is Great and wears well. Since this is a downtown location and I do not have a vehicle I'm not too sure about parking, though I do see cars parked out front. They have a nice Men's section, Women's section and Children's section. They also have a section with all their bags. I am not certain about their product warranties, but I am sure they offer good service to back their products.

Yelp
I had ordered about ten items from Patagonia online, but none of the items fit me as it was too small or too large. I was happy to find that Austin has an actual store. There's not a lot of Patagonia stores so Austin is the closest to me. I decided to bring my returns with me to return in store for a quicker process and also to actually try on their items so that I can figure out my sizes with their various items (slim fit versus regular fit). As soon as I walked in with a box of returns, Justine at the register happily greeted us and volunteered to help us with the returns while I shopped around. The entire store was having a 40% off sale so it was a busy Sunday. Because of the sale, I didn't find the sizes in the colors that I wanted. Justine was so helpful and patient with my indecisiveness. She called to different stores and also ordered online to find the correct sizes and colors and to have it all shipped to my house free of charge and within 2 days, I received my items. She even did a price adjustment for me as the items I did decide to keep from my order all went on sale from the original price when I ordered it two weeks ago. I never had to contact customer service on my own. She did all the work for me. Justine, you rock! Get this girl a raise because she's great! Can't wait to return back to Patagonia Austin. This was my first purchases from Patagonia and now I understand why so many people love Patagonia. The customer service is exceptional.

Yelp
It was weird walking into a store and not being bombarded with sales people from the get go (actually I take that back, it was rather a nice change of pace). I had maybe five minutes to shop and needed some hiking pants for the day... or leggings... well I found the pants, tried them on in lightning speed thanks to the woman who quickly opened up the changing room for me and then checked out again with lightning speed with the nice gentleman. Emailed receipt and ran out the door. Super easy shopping experience and they have a nice assortment it seems from my quick visit there. The pants were not cheap ($80) but they're soft and I plan to wear them on many occasions. Great work guys!

Yelp
I had the best experience at Patagonia today. I get a lot of anxiety at stores, and avoid them at ALL costs- but I had a duffel bag that was in the last leg of its life and wanted to see if they could replace it. I get nervous to approach people (and honestly I couldn't really tell who worked there and didn't). Stephen asked me right away if I needed help, and got the exchange process started so quickly! He also told me about the new way they measure the liter capacity for the bags, which I didn't know, but was super cool. I was in and out SO quickly that I'm honearly, as cheesey as it sounds, probably going to shop there more often. I asked his name just so I could write this, because (I failed to mention this before) being on the spectrum, shopping and talking to people can be such a nightmare, but this was such an easy and good experience.

Yelp
I had the best customer service at Patagonia! I asked for help to reach an item multiple times. Some items were out of stock and with out hesitation the clerk offered to look in the back for me. No change in attitude. I bet without a mask, she had a smile the whole time. Thank you Alexis for the best customer service

Yelp
Bull! I like checking out the brick & mortar stores for items you can't find online. I snagged a cool regional t-shirt with a bull on it, some clearance running socks and stickers. Score!

Yelp
I had a great experience shopping at this location. There were plenty of people around helping customers, which you don't see much any more. More importantly, they were friendly and checked in several times and were very knowledgeable. I always appreciate when people are genuinely willing and able to help. I've always loved the brand and what they stand for. However, I tended to purchase their products online or at another retailer. I'll make a point to visit the store going forward. Great experience. I just popped in to look around and ended up with some great new gifts.

Yelp
While the store is neat and orderly, the service isn't what you'd expect from a store as expensive as pantagonia. I work downtown and been there a few times. I love their warranty and water resistant pullovers. Yet, if you expect service you better be aggressive because they just sit behind the counter and talk most of the time. Don't even speak most of the time.......

Yelp
Yes, the parking situation sucks, but the store itself is worth the effort. Once inside, you'll find a vast array of different ways to keep your body warm and dry, or cool and comfortable. Patagonia makes some of the most quality outdoors gear on the market, and they've staffed this beautifully-designed new store with friendly, yet unobtrusive staff. That's what I like in a sales associate. Readily available, but not in my face. The prices are a bit high, as others have mentioned, but you'll be purchasing a product that you'll love for years to come. Bonus: Today when I walked in, I was told that everything in the store was 30% off! Even on REI's best day, they offer one item for 20% off. Hopefully sales like this one will become a habit at Patagonia. I wouldn't have a problem braving the parking for fabulous deals like the one I got today.

Yelp
Somewhat expensive well made clothing and accessories for hiking, climbing and general wear... packs, duffles, etc... this has been a green biz for many years... It is in the space that formerly housed the 60's music venue Vulcan Gas Company... Nice space, nice staff, good product, green company... This reviewer has had good luck using their equipment since the Chouinard days with no complaints... Early stuff was hand forged rock climbing gear and alpine equipment... History lessons 1972 Chouinard Catalog(important information about changing techniques and equip. in rock climbing... Chouinard later became Patagonia) http://www.climbaz.com/chouinard72/chouinard.html Vulcan Gas Co. http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/VV/xdv1.html http://www.faculty.missouristate.edu/d/DennisHickey/vulcan.htm

Yelp
In a word: s'aiite. (Translation: it's alright. I could have just said that and spared myself the additional words to explain "s'aiite." And these words. Oh, well.) We stopped into the store on a Sunday just because we were shopping on Congress somewhere else, and I wanted to peek in. If you don't know what Patagonia sells, then you probably don't need to be there. The staff wasn't super nice to us, nor did they ask us if we needed any help. The sales were very confusing to decipher because there were signs everywhere for different things, and prices weren't marked on the items. An item I thought was 50% off, ended up being only 30% off. There were some great sales on jackets. They charge you for a paper shopping bag ($0.20), so be prepared and go in with one. I was surprised that they didn't carry their line of ladies underwear, at least I didn't see any. And as I previously stated, no one asked me if I needed help. In conclusion: Meh. I'd rather go to Whole Earth or REI.

Yelp
Stopped by 10 min before closing time and the doors were locked. 2 associates saw we were trying to open and refused to open.

Yelp
I'm SO psyched that Patagonia has opened a store in Austin (I think the next closest location had been Phoenix). Great store for outdoor wear (skiing, sailing, climbing, lounging, etc.). Yep it's pricey but their stuff does seem to wear well. Parking? Not unless you are lucky enough to get a metered space on Congress (or pay the $5-10 at one of the 'serviced' lots next to the building) - guess they are hoping for LOTS of walk-in yupsters to fill ALL of those downtown schlocky condos (yeah, right). One star down for parking (and for too many 'Made in China' products - REALLY? At these prices??). Next to Manuel's if that helps.

Ray S.

Yelp
38 years old and this will be my first yelp review. I'm only writing it as the staff was so helpful, friendly, and fast at a time when it really helped me out. Shout out to Hudson, as well as the person answering the phone around 12:30 pm April 2nd(apologies I forgot or didn't get your name). I'd give more stars if I could. Sometimes a helping hand and a friendly face mean so much. Thank you Hudson and the downtown Patagonia.

Chris H.

Yelp
Wow, zero hellos from staff. Apparently I wasn't dressed nice enough. The fancier dressed customers were getting great service though. Had to walk out. Little did they know that I probably make more in a week than they do inside a year. We are in Austin people! Don't judge someone by how they're dressed!

Yelp
I am relatively new to the yoga world but treehouse has made me feel so welcome . Don't get me wrong they push you and push you hard but that's the idea . And it's done with a sense of community and spirit which I really enjoy .

Yelp
This is the second time I have been in this store as I live in Savannah, GA. Last time I was there with my wife and we spent around $400. Patagonia is expensive but you get what you pay for-- amazing quality and good ethical company. The owner was in the store last time and was there again this time. Wonderful guy and awesome staff. He allowed me to return a coat that did not hold up like I had hoped which is rare with this company from my experience. No questions asked-- we worked out an agreement. I wish we lived closer to Austin! I will continue to go to Patagonia because of this sort of reliable treatment.

Yelp
Self proclaimed Patagoniac... great clothes, great store and great mission. Knowledgeable sales associates that are there to help. Long lasting equipment and clothes that are well made. You can't go wrong with Patagonia

Yelp
Different from other reviewers... I went downtown on a Saturday afternoon and had no issues with parking on the street. I did not even have to circle the block. As to the store, I have been a Patagonia customer since 1988. Needless to say, I was very happy when they opend their Austin store. They aren't the cheapest, but they stand behind their product and their product stands up against the daily grind and wear and tear. I've only returned two items in all my years of shopping with Patagonia. Last weekend, I took a "Freewheeler" wheeled duffel bag in to store. The luggage had a major tear, due to luggage-handlers in Mexico. Amber and Lizzie were very helpful, ....They indicated that while they could not repair the bag, the could give me an in-store credit for the cost of the bag or ... replace the bag altogether. I took them up on their offer and did some over due Patagonia shopping while I was there. That's a real guarantee, one that matches the performance of their products, and its that kind performance that I look for when I make purchases. I am, and will contunue to be, a major supporter of your company and your products.

Yelp
They always have what I'm looking for, the staff is always friendly and helpful. If you call in they can give you a 30 min parking code so you don't have to pay to park. I usually just walk but it's nice to have the option in case you're in a time crunch.

Yelp
I am a huge patagonia fan. Part of what I like about the brand is that when shopping at the Patagonia stores the salespeople are usually extremely helpful and knowledgeable, this is far from the case at the Austin store. I very rarely write negative reviews, I am an easygoing person and I understand everyone is human, but twice now I have been treated badly and ignored at this store. The first time I went into the Austin store was the week before Christmas. I asked where I could find a Men's fleece pullover, the sales guy pointed to a shelf with one pullover on it, without saying a word to me. When I asked if that was the only pullover in the store he flatly replied that it was, and seemed annoyed that I questioned him. Walking around the store by myself I found at least three different types of fleece pullovers. I understand salespeople are busy during the holidays and I do not expect to be treated like the only person in the store, but this guy just either has no clue what is in inventory, or more likely had no interest whatsoever in helping me. My second bad experience came after Christmas when I came in to return a Jacket I had received. The store was completely dead, my girlfriend and I were literally the only people in the store, besides two salespeople (one being the guy from before). I ask the saleswoman for help finding another fleece jacket, she walked me to the back of the store, where a couple fleece jacket hung on racks, without offering any further help or suggestions she went back to the front of the store to fold clothes and talk to the sales guy. After searching for the R4 jacket I had seen online and not finding it, I approached the saleswoman again. The woman pointed to another rack, where the R4 jacket hung dangling about 6 feet up on a top-rack. When I asked her if she minded getting it down she rolled her eyes at me, as if I were asking a huge favor. I am confident in saying that I have never received worse costumer service in my life. Patagonia seriously needs to retrain or replace the salespeople at this store. I spend a fair amount of money at Patagonia and these two experiences make me hesitant to continue doing so. I would suggests either shopping online or if you want great costumer service shopping at REI in downtown Austin. This place simply sucks.

Yelp
I am awarding 2 out of 5 stars because I'd say that about 2 out of 5 visits, I leave satisfied. The main problem I have with this store is the lack of merchandise it offers, particularly for such a large space. I do really like Patagonia clothing for a variety of reasons: durability, quality, small sizes, fits my style. They are spendy but I'm a believer in 'you get what you pay for' and I've not really ever been disappointed in a Patagonia garment. I've also never ordered online- I always try everything on beforehand to make sure it fits and that I will be satisfied with it for years to come. Each year, I anticipate the releases of summer dresses, as dresses and skirts are mainly what I buy from the brand - especially dresses. I found about 4 dresses online that looked like they'd work out great, in a variety of colors. In all, probably 8 or so combinations. I also saw a skirt that I liked in just basic black, and a tank top as well. So I went in looking for 10 things. They had NONE OF THEM. Not ONE of the things on my list was available - as in, not carried in the store at all in any size, any color. I find that the pickings at this location are always slim at best, but this was the worst. Thinking maybe it was just me not knowing where to look, I finally interrupted three clerks who were more concerned with closing tasks (which didn't happen for several hours at that point) to ask about stock on a couple things. All confirmed that they don't carry it in this particular store. So I asked if the potential would exist to get it and they said no. It really boggles my mind that this huge store has a tiny men's and women's dept that splits essentially 25% of the store each (maybe less) with in-season items and then the rest is all COATS. Yes, you heard me- COATS, in Austin, in April. WTF? Last September I went to this store needing an actual change of clothes right then and there and all they had was winter stuff. It was 100 degrees outside and not a tank top, short sleeve, skirt, dress, or shorts to be found. Not one. The folks at Patagonia need to get their ish together regarding this store and properly merchandise it. The selection sucks, the staff is somewhat helpful (at least, they are better than the selection that they offer) and the merch half the time does not fit the season we are in. Maybe I'm just out of the loop on the booming populous of Austin who needs to buy cold weather gear to travel to places that aren't so damned hot, but you can't tell me that need outstrips the need for every day clothes that we all need while we sweat it out and make me believe it. Ugh.

Devon B.

Yelp
I was going to an event downtown the other day and ended up parking right in front of Patagonia, so I decided to pop in. I was shocked at how unfriendly the staff (a guy and a girl) were. They didn't greet me when I entered, even after I looked right at the girl and smiled, kind of waiting for her to say hello, and they never offered any help or anything, even though there was no one else in the store. They were standing at the register chatting (with each other) when I came in and the whole time I was looking around -- which wasn't long since I felt so unwelcome. The only time they even acknowledged my presence was when one of them said "thanks for coming in" as I was leaving, which frankly felt like something their boss had told them to do (never imagining that they would also have to be trained to say hello). I wouldn't even bother posting about this, but the unfriendliness was so palpable that I was driven to look up other reviews -- and lo and behold, many others have experienced the same thing. I don't know if the sales people have been the same throughout all of the years of similar reviews, but if they are, I don't know how they're still employed by Patagonia, and regardless, I don't know how this store stays in business with such unfriendly staff.

Gregg J.

Yelp
Great customer service, great selection. Loved the store and hospitality. Even when my size wasn't on display the staff went to the back and found the right fit. Highly recommended

Beth B.

Yelp
I was visiting here and since we don't have a Patagonia store where I'm from I brought my coat down for warranty. The employees were super friendly and offered many suggestions of local things to do instead of the touristy things. They sent off my warranty and it arrived back a lot faster than I expected. I left it with them during my last few days and within a week of being home it was already on it's way back to me.

Yelp
This store is amazing! Mostly because of the people. The clothes speak for themselves and are great, but pricey. While here couch surfing I stopped in and saw a flyer for a clean-up at lady bird lake - sponsored by this Patagonia store. I went, had a blast, and met some amazing people including Patrick (who I believe is a Patagonia manager). He organized the clean-up and is an all around awesome dude!!

Yelp
I had a great experience... The employees at this store made my shopping easy. Justine and Adam were very helpful. This store was fresh out of two kinds of XL shirts that i was wanting. Without hesitation or request, Justine mad a few phone calls and found alternate stores that carried the sizes of shirts that i needed. She arranged to have them shipped directly to my home. She was very pleasant and professional. I appreciated that she was eager to HELP me. I will shop here again.

Yelp
Great inventory, fantastic salespeople, high quality items

DC D.

Yelp
Walked in, strolled around, walked out, still waiting for my presence to be acknowledged. And there were probably only two other shoppers, i.e. it was not a busy time. Pretty place with pretty (and pricey) merchandise, but why run a store if you ignore the shoppers?

Ruth P.

Yelp
The worst service I've had in years -- close to none at all. The three employees couldn't be bothered to greet, much less help, any of the would-be customers in the store. If you need this kind of merchandise, go to St Bernard's a few blocks west. Equally good products and the employees actually seem to care. Remarkable what a difference that makes. Stay away from this Patagonia unless you don't mind being treated badly.

Yelp
nice folks working there. it's a bit expensive but their skirts are my fav because they're so simple and comfy. nice simple clothing for outdoorsy peeps and helpful folks working there.

Yelp
I was visiting Austin and found a few of my Christmas ideas (for myself...) while there...my relative ended up ordering the wrong size for Christmas, and when I discovered that the correct size was sold out online, I called the store and they had my size! The store was awesome-they were willing to do free 2 shipping for the correct size and even offered to take the other coat back if I wanted to ship it to them. Also, while I was there I happened to find an awesome recycled leather and wool purse that was made by a private company that they sold in their store (was surprised to find a product that wasn't Patagonia brand on their tables)--knowing that their products are so great, I trust that if they are selling a different brand that it is a quality product as well!
