Google
The go to Indian grocery store for all Indians. Have everything that we get in India, although most of the time you won’t get the veggies fresh. Price wise I feel the vegetables are expensive here compared to other Indian grocery store. Overall friendly staff and get choices.

Google
Patel Brothers on Sawmill Rd is a go-to destination for authentic South Asian groceries and fresh produce. The store is well-stocked, clean, and the staff is always helpful. You can even find a great selection of Pakistani masalas alongside Indian staples.

Google
This is a solid Indian grocery store, but one thing truly sets it apart: it’s hands down the best place to buy fresh okra. I regularly go out of my way just to shop here for it. Unlike my nearby stores like Kroger or Giant Eagle, the okra here is consistently fresh—almost as if it’s delivered, stocked, and sold all on the same day. In addition, the store offers great prices on a wide range of Indian staples like chutneys, spices, pickles, and more. You’ll also find fresh ingredients that are hard to come by elsewhere, like curry leaves and a variety of Indian vegetables.

Google
A typical Indian ( subcontinental) grocery chain. It’s a pretty outlet, as compared to the Chicago, or NJ! I stopped by for a quick pick. It was a Sunday morning, and quite packed. They have mostly everything whatever you need from an Indian grocer. The usual rice, atta, lentils, snacks, spices, biscuits, frozen items, fresh produce, puja stuff, etc. the fresh vegetable section was nothing impressive. Most of the stuff doesn’t look very fresh. However, other things were pretty usual. I didn’t spend much time. Columbus area had some big, promising Indian groceries. So Patel Brother must stock up, or bring something extra fancy to the table for keeping up the competition.

Given the diversity on the Indian subcontinent, the store motto is a little funny. Luckily, the inventory reflects the diversity and not the motto. Well stocked, with a full array of raw ingredients and consumer packaged goods. The point of sale is always efficient and the employees are friendly and helpful.

Google
Arguably the best Indian grocery store in Columbus. Well stocked, efficient staff, easy to navigate. Very busy on the weekends but the weekends are also the time when veggies are fresh. Some stock is always around the expiration date, and once you bring it to the notice of the staff, they'll take it off the shelves. So check the expiration date of whatever you buy. I once had something billed twice. It was corrected when I brought it to their notice. But you'll have to have your original bill and comeback within a week.

Google
My go to place for Indian Food and spices. The large packs of spices are so much more economical than anywhere else. I always find something new here. I buy their Deep Samosas party pack, 30 for 20$. So easy to throw into the air fryer for a quick snack. Bulk beans (all kinds), bulk flour (all kinds!) and so many different rice brands and sizes. They even have momos so good.

Google
This is a decent Indian grocery store with one very exceptional aspect: it's the best place to buy OKRA - I go out of my way to come here to get fresh okra. For okra it's vastly better than my nearby grocery stores such as Kroger or Giant eagle and I've found it fresh here any day of the week - it always seems to from a fresh box delivered/opened/sold all on the same day. They also have much better prices on many Indian products such as chutney, spices, pickle, etc. And, they have some fresh ingredients such as curry leaf or Indian vegetables which aren't sold at most other stores.

Yelp
I love coming here to get my kerala mango pickle. Saturdays are super busy but the cashiers are quick. Be careful in parking lot.... It gets chaotic. Lots of variety. Great Indian store

Yelp
I love to shop here. They carry all the articles needed for the festivals. The store is organized really well and it is easy to locate the products.

Yelp
A pretty big Indian market. Lots of frozen stuff, lots of cold stuff, lots of dry goods. Tons of snacks. I got a TV dinner and some snacks to take to work. Prices seem a little high, but I'm not real familiar with Indian markets. There were a few household items, some bulk ingredients, etc. Big, clean, well arranged, and handy off of Sawmill.

Yelp
Just walking in the door and taking a deep breath I knew I was in the right place. All the ingredients needed for an Indian feast at an affordable price.

Yelp
Haven't really explored the other Indian stores in the area... I usually go to Patel Brothers for all my Indian groceries. Fresh vegetables and fruits are always good and Better priced than some of the larger grocery stores. During Diwali I was surprised by the amount of stuff they still had in stock - including decorations! I did buy a few roti's fresh from there and unfortunately they had fungus growing on them. Haven't had an issue since though!

Yelp
The best place to go in Columbus for all of your Indian staples. Huge variety of fresh and frozen products. Amazing prices on fresh produce. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
Patel is the best place to buy Indian food and supplies. This would definitely be a five-star rating, except there are A LOT of check out problems here. I was there once when there was no one servicing the checkout lanes for over 15 minutes in the morning just after they opened. I gave up after that long and went to a neighboring store. I looked in later, and there was still no clerk with the same people still waiting in line. Unacceptable! I never go there on the weekend because there will be at least 10 people in each lane, and most of those people have full shopping carts doing their week's shopping. With that number of people in line, the registers are not all open. Unforgivable!

Yelp
Off course it is a good Indian grocery store as many say but their prices are higher. There is another one a couple of blocks down south on Sawmill called Bhavani Cash and Carry by the Mongolian BBQ where you can get the same quality for lower price. I love Bhavani. I will go to Patel only if I can not find an item in Bhavani. Saves me money. Off course Patel has fresh vegetables and I believe India Grocers across Home Depot on Sawmill have equally fresh vegetables. I even saw Jack fruit, whole or cut to 1 lb pieces as well. I love India Grocers for that.

Yelp
I worship this place. When it moved from Kenny and Henderson I had a little heart attack, thinking -- oh God, I need to find a new Indian store to get my cheap pulses, spices, frozen veggies, rice, coconut milk, curry leaves, and Masala Munch potato chips -- and then was quickly relieved to see that it had moved, not closed. I am not as familiar with this new, fancy Patel Bros, but I'm happy the business appears to be doing well. Someone mentioned the chickpea bag -- yup, been there, bought that. Used them all, need more. Saved probably 20$ in the long run. The produce here is more seasonal than not -- you'll find some things that are high quality and awesome sometimes, but then shriveled and sad other times. Generally, starchy things are always good, Indian peppers are spicy, and I'd avoid the tomatoes or anything that perishes quickly. This is the sort of place where they have a 10$ minimum credit card limit (they might not anymore, not sure) and you can buy an armful of goodies, sure that you'll be over the limit, but need to grab an extra 3 cans of coconut milk to go over the total. I'm mostly more of an expert on the non-premade stuff, although my boyfriend assures me the premade packages of chana masala, etc, are fine, but all of the other stuff I've purchased from here has been perfectly acceptable about about half the price of what you'd pay at a normal grocery store. I mentioned the Masala Munch Lays potato chips. BUY THESE. If you like spicy food, these will change your life, or at least make you prone to hyperbole. They're sort of like the Thai Kettle Chips, but better and cheaper. And, this was the one place I could find chaat masala with ease. Now that this place is in the Sawmill area, it's yet another specialty store eeking into my relationship with WFM. With the Andersons (awesome), Trader Joes (awesome for some things), and now Patel Brothers within a square mile of WFM, and thereby decreasing my need to enter that amazing bastion of yuppiedom, I think my wallet may begin thanking me.

Yelp
Patel Brothers is the original Indian store. Back when Apu Nahaseemapatilan was plying his wares on a corner of Springfield, so was your local Patel Brothers. This is the closest thing to a "brand" among the Indian immigrant community, and accounts for why people still visit despite the addition of several fierce competitors. I recently came here along with my grad student friends, who insisted on this place over any other, because they hadn't heard of the others. Apparently, the brand travels. To other countries. When inside, one can see why. It has everything one's heart can desire in an Indian store: tindora, mango pulp, mango ice cream (psst! did you know you can make mango ice cream by blending mango pulp with vanilla ice cream and re-freezing it?), mango pickle, Maggi noodles, green coconut water... One huge reason Patel Brothers remains strong is its groceries; its competitors just don't have the selection and freshness Patel Brothers is known for. Prices on Shan masala packets are also higher than, say, India Grocer, but lower than Plaza Internationale. Indian or not, there is something for everyone at Patel Brothers. Besides slurpees.

Yelp
This is the best Indian grocery store as far as i have seen. Its very clean, Organized, and friendly staff. They have ton of varieties and quality of food stuff they carry is really good. This is the best Place to buy Mangoes. They are fantastic! The downside is it can get really busy during weekends and check out lines will be pretty long. The best time to visit is during weekdays!

Yelp
Great customer service, very clean, very nice produce (except for very sad looking green and red bell peppers for some reason), AND some great unique fruits. Prices were very reasonable, especially to someone who has been buying specialty ingredients at typical American groceries. IE Four pounds of dry chickpeas for $4.99??? SOLD!!!!!!!!! (For comparison sake, a pound or so of similar quality is usually around $6-$9 at Kroger/Giant Eagle.) Also of note, check out the dry spice combination packs. Anywhere from $1-$2.50 a piece, I stocked up to send them to my poor mother who cannot get ANY Indian spices/ingredients in the very small town she lives. Add in it's less than a mile from my house and you have a 5-star review!

Yelp
If you are making an Indian dish, you will be able to find the supplies for it here! Very friendly and helpful staff and totally wheelchair accessible with extra wide aisles.

Yelp
Southeast Asian here. I've gotten really into Indian cuisine lately and this store has everything I needed. It was REALLY clean, open, and had a fresh selection of veggies. I haven't been to other Indian grocers so I can't compare the price, but I like how they stack their spices in little itty bitty cubicles in the walls. If I keep on coming here and watching Manjula on youtube, I'll be good to go. Who would've thunk they'd have curry ramen?? thats pretty neat!

Yelp
I'm ashamed to say that I've only recently discovered how amazing Indian food is. After first trying it at a restaurant, the natural next step was to explore Indian grocery stores. Within the past year or so, I've been to several Indian grocers and this one is easily my favorite. Everything smells delicious and the selection is impressive. My last purchase here included 8oz of frozen fried paneer for $3.79 and 10 loaves of spicy naan for $3.49. I love the $1.99 ready-to-eat packaged meals; a great way to try new dishes on the cheap. $20 can buy you so much food here. They also sell the premixed tubes of henna paste. I usually scoop up a few of those to have on hand. They're a fun alternative to my bad habit of doodling on my skin.

Yelp
Its always a go to place for all your indian grocery needs. Very close to 270 exit. Only problem is the way people stop outside the shop with their cars and that blocks the main road.

Shak G.

Yelp
Looks like they insult customers. If they have problem with a customer, they should talk to the person with respect in their office.

Yelp
As a desi road-warrior, I get to frequent desi grocers and restaurants in cities I happen to be. While on a consulting engagement in Dublin, OH, I looked up Indian grocers on the web and found Patel Brothers. As with many other PB's in other cities, this is spacious and well stocked. And just like at Wal-mart's the attentive staff opens up checkout counters as the lines grow, a big plus for busy desi shoppers during weekends. The only shortcoming? Fresh Samosas are stocked only during weekends, and generally are sold-out by evenings on Saturday/Sunday!

Yelp
I loved this place... originally. I have been going to get Palmolein there for my soap making. That is, until I found out that it was them that more than likely used their card reader to copy my debit card number for fraudulent purposes. I've filed a report and we shall see what happens. I thought it odd that I witnessed on two separate occasions them discretely selling Speedway cards to people. Adding up for you folks, yet? Timing, that and the fact that I know a bit of the language and was able to pick out a few words that they shouldn't have been saying at my expense and it all looks pretty suspicious. Add on the fact that a coworker had the same thing happen to her a week after shopping there and I gotta say, it doesn't look good. I've been treated badly there, probably for being a Caucasian female (men physically pushing me to cut in line, guy slamming a door in my face and two men following me and staring at me) but I kept going because it was the only place I could find the oil I needed. So much for that. Until this gets figured out, I refuse to go there and give them even MORE of my money. Even if they aren't guilty of this fraud, they are committing an illegal act by selling Speedway cards (and putting them in playing cards boxes). Bummer. Again, I may be wrong but I think one would have to be blind and ignorant to not see the oddities here and it disgusts me that I attended a business, gave them my money for a product and that they potentially stole from me. Way to show customer appreciation. I will update this when I find out one way or another but my best advice is BEWARE.

Sorraia R.

Yelp
My first experience was not very good one. I was shopping for a Hesh hair care product ( which they did not have) and while looking around I found a cute little copper cup that was $9.99. I thought that price seemed a little high but was not sure what copper runs these days. Anyway as I was checking out the clerk made it very clear I was not allowed to return the cup. That should have been my red flag. I told her I understood and saw no reason to return the item. I drove down the Street on Sawmill Rd to another Indian Grocery store looking for the same hair care product ....which as it turns out they did not stock either. While looking around I came across the incense and ceremony items and came across the exact same copper cup for half the price. Needless to say I was not happy Patel Brothers and will not be going back.

Yelp
So, I typically refer to this grocery store as the Walmart of Indian grocery stores. It is a chain of Indian grocery stores throughout the U.S. and has all the fresh produce, rice, grains, snacks, frozen food, and convenience products that you might need to India-fy your home. However, be prepared for (a) hordes of people, especially during the weekend. If you can go during the day on a weekday, do try. Next, (b) service sucks. There are almost no people to help you if you're looking for an obscure item (e.g. star anise). You have to patiently look through the aisles or maybe beseechingly/helplessly stare at a checkout person in the hope they assist you. Lastly, (c) pricing/selection can be inconsistent. Your favorite brand of Malaysian paratha might be $6.99/pack one week and then (hallelujah!) $4.99 the next weekend. Coveted products may suddenly disappear. But, new products also mysteriously appear. Essentially, Patel Brothers is full of the confusion of the motherland, but is also surprisingly delightful. And lastly, good people watching, always!

Yelp
Oh my goodness!!! Best customer service. My husband called this store and have saved some special indian mangoes. They saved it for 3 days and I went there to pick it up. They did not have to do that. It's a high demand variety apparently but they kept their promise. Love service like this!!

Yelp
great store. xcellent quality fresh products, grocery

Yelp
This place is awesome. We shop here on a regular basis. The best aspect of this store is that the cost of the food is so cheap as compared to Trader Joes, Krogers, etc. We get most of our groceries here and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
