Kraken Axes Cuts a Deal With D.C.’s Alcohol Regulations Board | Eater DC

"Planning to open next fall in Prince George’s County, microbiologist-turned-commercial brewer Matt Humbard is searching for a space for Patent Brewing Company; he intends to make quirky fermented brews with a focus on German and Belgian styles and pour them in a taproom-style facility." - Tierney Plumb

Everything we had was good! Chicken sliders, kids cheeseburger, French dip, cranberry habanero wings and the Cajun fries were all great! Service was friendly and fast, patio is top tier for Chandler!

I highly recommend this place. The food was delicious and the portions were huge, not to mention the wonderful and relaxing view. The beers are delicious! We'll definitely be back soon.

This was not our first visit. We have made a point of stopping here once or twice each time we are in the Phoenix area (in January, February or March) since they opened. The visit did not meet expectations we had from past visits (January 2023 & March 2024) and this visit was slightly disappointing. We walked in during happy hour, and it was quiet. There was one other couple at the bar. We sat outside on the patio. The view of the pond is so relaxing and is always my favorite spot to sit. We used the QR code to check out the beer options and put in our orders with the bartender. The beer choices were pretty limited and when we asked we were told they were no longer brewing their own beer. Our top favorites from past visits were not available and despite realizing taps typically rotate, there are usually a few house beers that aren't seasonal... Ihad the peanut butter porter which was good, very peanut buttery, and my husband had the amber lager, which he said was OK. He is a Pilsner guy, so it was a change for him Neither were Patent 139 brews. We knew it was Happy Hour (the website also states happy hour 3-6) and in the past we have received a menu or seen a list on the board as we entered offering a wide variety of happy hour appetizers, entrees, food options... enough that we ordered a variety and were fully satisfied. (Last year for example: wings, avocado fries, sliders all on happy hour and we ordered the origin burger and corn bread regular price). We had to ask what was on Happy Hour and were very disappointed to hear they had: $2 off charred shishito (regular $7) and a plate of nachos - half the regular nacho portion without pulled pork and avocado for $7 (regular bbq nachos $17). We orders the Happy Hour nachos - but was it really a happy hour special? No, smaller portion, no meat, no avocado... basically a different item, chips with cheese, onion, beans. We were planning this to be our late lunch/ early dinner so we ordered the fried chicken sliders and BLAT. The sandwiches do not come with sides (they put a small amount of arugula salad on the plate for presentation). Each sandwich was $15.... The chicken sliders were OK but overpriced for portion: there were two buns with a piece of fried chicken (think a chicken tender or nugget with half on each bun), potato mash, gravy and a pickle on each. I like flavor and seasoning and would have preferred more of a country gravy with more flavor. The BLAT - bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato canning a hoagie bun and was good. The bacon was flavorful and thick cut - a nice chunk, the lettuce was crisp, the tomato fresh, the avocado was a spread rather than sliced avocado which I was expecting. There was a red pepper aioli spread on the bun that added to the flavor. We shared each of the sandwiches and both agreed this was our favorite of the two. Our total bill came to around $50 before tip. The beer was $5 on Happy Hour. One big disappointment for us is how far from the story behind the name “patent 139” and the Haas avocado influence they have come in the past nine months and from our previous visits when they proudly served dishes and beer with avocado influence and flavors. I have shared the story and recommended Patent 139 to family and friends who visit the area and always highlight the Haas Avocado background. It seems to be lost.

Great experience 1st time! Laura the bartender and the owner we're super sweet. Food was delicious, great view and a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely will be back!

Google
We enjoy craft beer and good food, and this place had all the right boxes checked. We were able to get a seat at the bar, and enjoyed their own ales, (only two right now) I tried the Willowood IPA, which I enjoyed enough to have seconds before I move on to the well thought out guest drafts. The menu really intrigued us, since it was not the typical bar food. We had the chicken sliders and the French dip, and the care, quality, and taste were immediately apparent. We really enjoyed the food, and will be back for more, as there were many items that we wanted to try. Very nice experience, with the owners clearly vested in pleasing and providing a top-notch experience. We have been going since they opened, and continue to visit and enjoy their food!

Google
So, figured we’d try a new place and glad we did!! Wife said “I heard about this place, from coworkers at work” and figured, let’s do it. Wide selection of beer, three of the theirs. I ordered their willow IPA that was delicious. Food was fantastic, I had the wings and my wife had the chicken sliders. Both were fantastic!! Atmosphere was cool. Oh, sorry how could I forget our server/ Bartender Laura, she worked her butt off, was super friendly and was always there to help us!! Can’t wait to come back and , give it a go again!!

Google
We tried this place one night for dinner. We were greeted quickly by Laura who seated us. Very casual place. The tables are picnic tables. Some of the tables have cushions on the seats so not to uncomfortable. They are a micro brewery and also have other local beers on tap. We ordered the Wings with all the sauce on the side we tried Avocado Green Buffalo | Peach Reaper | Cactus Cooler | Cranberry Habanero | Fig Balsamic. The wings were fried to perfection (nice and crispy). All the flavors were delicious but our two favorites Cactus Cooler and Peach Reaper. The Avocado Green Buffalo had a mild spice. Peach Reaper was sweet with a very spicy bite at the end. Cactus Cooler is very mild with lots of flavor. Cranberry Habanero was sweet/tart with a medium spicy flavor. The Fig Balsamic was very mild with a sweet balsamic fig flavor. We also tried the Cajun Seasoning Fries and Wild Mushrooms. Both were very delicious and cook to perfection. We also tried the Banana Foster which had a very delicious flavor and the caramelization on the bananas was perfect. We met Tim the owner who came by our table and Jeff his father both very nice people. This will become a favorite spot for us.

Google
Great food great staff great scenery! I feel bad for not taking a photo before I ate my food but the presentation looked so good not to hurry up and eat, and the flavoring did not miss! So good! This is my first time here at Patent 183 and already want to try everything on the menu. The staff here is great, the food is great. They are pet friendly and they brought my puppy some water and I didn’t even ask for it which was great as it shows they care about the people and animals that comes here. Me and my puppy are definitely coming back!

Yelp
We came across Patent 139 this past weekend, and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! We were totally unaware of it's existence until we found ourselves in the plaza, but have a feeling it will be a spot we will definitely add to the rotation! The history is super cool, with the name, Patent 139 representing the history of the family Hass Avocado patent - It's very interesting. I am so bummed I didn't get our bartenders names, but they were so great, friendly, conversational, but not too much, and efficient service. Per the bartenders recommendations, we got the brussel sprouts and the avocado feta hummus with crostinis. The brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked with bleu cheese, peaches and a garlic aioli. The portion was very generous, my only critique would be for more aioli, but I love sauces. The avocado hummus, was very smooth, flavorful and the bread that came with is was perfectly grilled. The menu had a great line up of fresh and elevated bar offerings. It's not huge, but had a good variety. We will definitely be indulging in one of their burgers or sandwiches on our next visit. They have a beautiful, waterview patio to match, perfect for those winter months! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
We are visiting some family who took us over to Patent 139 Brewing. Overall, it was just an enjoyable evening. Here's what we noticed: - Beer menu is primarily available through QR code at the tables or on some TV screens above the bar. They have both their own beers, which apparently are brewed in southern Arizona, and some guest taps. I ordered a flight, some of which I really enjoyed and others which were so so. - We sat outside... And I know it's one of my own pet peeves, but I just don't like picnic tables so much but that's pretty much all they had outside. - We ordered both the brussels sprouts and the feta dip to share. Both dishes were really great and a good sharing size. Afterward, my wife and I ordered the Grilled Wedge and the Origin Burger so we could split both. The salad was especially good, but the burger was very tasty too. - Service was just so so... The server seemed to be in a rush all the time and couldn't even tell us what the brewery was known for. We had to ask for water and she never ever came back to do any refills. She never even asked us if we wanted other beers, even though mine was empty for quite a long time. - Another pet peeve of mine is the automated credit card charge processing done at your table. This one had recommended tipping at 20%, which I think is crazy given that a big chunk of the bill is beer. I know you can adjust the amounts but I find it annoying when restaurants start at such a high-level. Bottom line: It was an enjoyable evening, and the food was especially good.

Yelp
A return visit to Patent 139 but my first review for them. I had their Snowmass Hazy IPA, 2nd guest had their Brown. Both beers were excellent. I had the Origin Burger, my guest had the Figgy Piggy (better choice). For those not familiar, Patent 139 was granted to the Hass Avocado, so one of their inherence opened a brewery. Both burgers were excellent, Cajun Fries just so so (to be perfect honest, I'm an onion ring person). Picnic tables for seating, and only some have cushions. Great, natural lighting. Service is friendly and efficient. Visit ~4pm on September 20th, and sorry, never caught the Servers name and with Toast, forgot to request receipt.

Yelp
Food was rough. Hopefully it was just a bad night. Service was good. Bartender took care of the bar and the tables. Inside was decent with a nice view of the lake.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Only came here for happy hour for a few drinks, and arrived right when it opened. The bartender took time to ask what I liked, gave me a few options to try, and ensured I was happy with my selection. Great casual place for groups!

Yelp
So our friends asked us if he wanted to try out Patent 139 Brewing. We live in South Tempe and have been to this area before, but never been to his brewery. We came in had a couple of brews, the pumpkin beer was amazing! (We all had a pumpkin beer for our second round). We had the brussels sprouts the mushrooms, fries, figgy piggy burger and the BLAT which is a bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato sandwich. Awesome. We sat outside and enjoyed the water scenery and the fresh breeze. Come on in and try the Pat 139 brewery. And Kayla our server, was AMAZING!!

Yelp
I've enjoyed the food and somewhat limited beverage offerings here. Great outdoor patio to have a snack, a beverage and view some of the local waterfowl. Haven't worked my way up to one of the delicious looking burgers here, but the apps we've had are very good. And the patio is dog friendly too!!

Yelp
My husband and I met friends for drinks and appetizers. Parent 139 has a good variety of drinks, the appetizers are delicious, and relaxing scenery.

Yelp
Walked in here because we were in the area! The food was super super good. We had two burgers and they were absolutely amazing! The gal at the bar was great, super personable. Great ambiance with the water right next to the restaurant. Would 10/10 go again!

Yelp
I went here with a group of coworkers and I got the Chicken & Waffles which was $16-$17. As pictured. This was not good. I hated it. The waffle was so stale and cold, the chicken pieces were so small and had no flavor and the jalapeno popper was just there and didn't taste good at all. The only flavor I got was the maple syrup that was drenched in it and the powder sugar was unnecessary considering it's already sweet from the maple syrup. I had to give it to my coworker who ate half of it but couldn't even finish the dish. The 1 star is for the server who was nice and accommodating. He was the only server and did his best to serve all the tables. The place is very pretty though because it's by a body of water. It's more of a place to drink and vibe but the food was not good at all.

Yelp
Our server Tim took good care of us. Went on my birthday again to enjoy The Figgy Piggy burger. It is massive, and SOOO DELICIOUS. I love the multiple flavors in this smash burger. Fig & balsamic jam, slab bacon, sweet onion, garlic aioli & Fried goat cheese...yes!!! I enjoyed their Willowood IPA beer.

Yelp
What an amazing find! I found this place on yelp looking for a sports bar restaurant for good food in this area. They had great reviews and now I know why. The wings were the best I've had, the flavor of cranberry habanero was something I have never tried! It was sooooo good! I enjoyed the lemon pepper too. We enjoyed the feta avocado dip. Noel whom served us was amazing!!! they have open doors to the patio....great place!

Yelp
5.0* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 5* Service: 5* 02/18/2024 We just got into town the night before and were looking for some place to go on Sunday afternoon when we saw this place near where we went to an afternoon Mass. While there wasn't anything that really stood out on the exterior, once we stepped inside we were impressed with the modern decor and welcoming environment (see pictures). Then, after stepping outside on the patio with our beers and seeing the beautiful pond, we were even more impressed. We were looking for samples of some local craft beers and something light to eat to cover us until dinner time. Patent 139 covered us very well in both areas, and the Smoked Avocado Feta Dip appetizer that we ordered (see picture) left us very impressed! We both absolutely loved it so much that we were tempted to place a 2nd order. It was so fresh, flavorful and delicious...not to mention how great it looked when it was served. Oh, and lest I forget, the beer samples were quite good also! If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow. Yelp
This was a good experience and a nice clean restaurant. It's more of a bottle and tap bar opposed to spirits. The food was really good and the service was on point.

Yelp
Fun little brewpub, so I had to hit up this joint! Did a flight and all were decent to good...friendly staff. Loved the kolsch and the raspberry blonde... definitely crushable!

Yelp
The restaurant is in a great location tucked back next to Sprouts on Dobson and Ray rd. They have a nice view of the lake. We got there after the rush so they were out of a few things we wanted. They also seemed short staffed, but were very friendly. The food we got was good, the French fries, beets, burger in particular. My only main complaint is the picnic tables. Very uncomfortable. Maybe consider getting some regular tables and chairs with a back.

Yelp
This awkward part of Chandler/Tempe is long overdue for a brewery like Patent 139. They've not been open terribly long, and as a result the quantity of their house brews is fairly short. The equipment up front is what they own and it can't produce a whole lot right now but it's a work in progress! In addition to their beers there are a handful of other local brews on tap. Didn't get a chance to order food but I did make sure to order a flight. I'd consider their Willowood IPA the flagship beer (for now)- a very clean & crisp IPA. The Faceplant IPA wasn't bad either. The Neon Nancer Blaster is *quite* similar to OHSO Popsicle Blonde in appearance and taste-- wondering how P139 came up with theirs. It's a nice open space that has a variety of seating options- bar seating, indoor patio tables & outdoor tables (with misters!). Good for individuals or groups... i'd imagine if you want to do a reservation you can, just contact them ahead of time. I look forward to their success and sampling more beers of theirs in the future!

Yelp
Excellent food and beers- this place is a little gem! Only one server but understandably because seemed like a light night, went on a Sunday evening. Everything came in a timely manner. Highly recommend the nachos. Easy atmosphere, we ate outside with a little community man made "lake".

Yelp
If I could give 3.5 stars for my first time at this restaurant I would. Better than average, but didn't wow me. The views and remaining menu items alone, I'll for sure go back. It was around 4pm on a Tuesday. I walked immediately around back since I had a dog with me. As I walked up I could see someone inside that was working but no other patrons. I had a friend meeting me that was only a few minutes behind so I waited out back and told her to flag someone down when she walked inside. The patio is overlooking water with plenty of shade and 2 TVs. Our server was very attentive, but I did over hear another server give a full explanation of the happy hour, what it entailed (including ingredients) and various price points of items. Wasn't aware of 1/4 of what the other server brought up. Great management opportunity to train. Food. Man. The owners resume is IMPRESSIVE. The story is on the back of the menu. We only ordered wings, but got 4 different flavors to try. ALL of them were cooked perfectly to temperature and crisp. I tried them all without dipping sauce first to get their true taste. The peach reaper was my favorite by far in terms of flavor, but you must love a hot spice to handle. Think Thai hot. The good kind that lingers. I usually LOVE lemon pepper, but they heavily coated 1 side and not the other so each bite was all or nothing. The avocado green BBQ was unique and delicious. The fig balsamic was my least favorite and I'd pass on moving forward. The flavor didn't seem to stand out enough alone. Their happy hour is decent from 3-6 and you save on some beer, wine, and some apps. They don't have a wine menu so you'll need to ask your server what is being served regardless of happy hour or not. I had to ask what other food items were on the happy hour when I had overheard the other server. I'm usually a beer gal and did have one of their IPA's, but I'll save my input on that for another time I visit. I wasn't in a beer mood and feel unfair to judge the only one I had. Usually not important for most, but the WI-FI connection was a pain in the arse for two of us to get on. They have 4 different ones and we eventually were able to jump on the correct one which wasn't high speed. Again not important for most at a restaurant but we went their to work and grab a beer. I drove 25 minutes from Scottsdale, and will do so again when in the area.

Yelp
The beers were great! We are usually into IPA's and this spot had a few to check out. Service was really friendly and nice! View was nice next to a lake. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Excellent beer and both our burgers were super tasty and very reasonably priced. Shishito peppers and mesquite elote instead of fries.

Yelp
Decided to try this place after I left the veterinarian nearby. Inside the place is gorgeous. I love the layout and the furniture. The Lakeside view is nice. One thing that was weird as the TV placement. If you're coming to watch any sporting event and you sit at the bar, the only two screens are on the west side behind where everybody is sitting. So if you wanna look at the screens, it's like you're staring at people who are sitting facing the bar. Wish there were some TVs overhead or to the east wall of the bar. I'm definitely gonna come by and try some of the other food, but it's pretty basic, not much to choose from. I had the wings and they were so so. The sauce was very watery and barely clung to the wings. I had to constantly dip it in the pool of watery sauce below. Wish they were to toss those in a little bit of flour or something. Hopefully the other food is good.

Yelp
The absolute irony of our wandering into this place... We went out on a Monday afternoon in search of a beer and appetizer after work. Not being familiar with the area, we trusted reviews and found our way to Patent 139 and grabbed a couple of seats at the bar. The space itself is cozy. As soon as you walk in, you see the brewing area in the corner. The bar is in the center of the space, and there are tables both inside and out. The outdoor seating has a beautiful view of the water. All of the decor is avocado-themed (we'll come back to that). When we arrived, the bartender was explaining to another patron that Patent 139 brews in small batches, a barrel at a time. The rest of the beer list features other local breweries and cideries. I opted for a flight, which included four 5-oz pours for $9. Maybe I'm used to Chicago beer pricing, but that seemed like a great deal! Though the beer list isn't long, it appears to be carefully curated with a wide variety of options. I tried a sour, a hefe, a stout and a cider. And my husband's flight was four completely different beers. After browsing the food menu, we settled on the chicken and waffles shareable plate. They were served skewered with waffles, fried chicken tenders and cream cheese stuffed jalapenos. Drizzled with maple syrup and dusted with powdered sugar, they were plated beautifully. And they tasted just as good as they looked. The waffle was crisp and brown; the chicken was well seasoned and tender. The jalapenos had been seeded so they weren't spicy but definitely elevated the plate. Service was hospitable. The bartender was attentive and checked in without hovering. We observed him chatting casually with some other patrons, answering questions about the food and beers. So the irony -- we didn't make the full connection to the avocados until we were home. Patent 139 was the patent for Hass avocados and the owner of this brewery is the great-grandson of the patent holder. There were avocados in many of the menu items and, apparently, they have previously brewed an avocado-infused Kolsch. Even my flight was served on a wooden board cut in the shape of an avocado! But I am allergic to avocados so, had we known, we probably never would have picked this place. I am *so* glad we didn't know because it was all delightful and made for some funny pictures of me looking sad next to a giant neon Hass avocado.

Yelp
Unusual menu with classics redone. We had the Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, wings, burger and cornbread. The best were the mushrooms and Brussel sprouts. All were good but a little pricey and I don't love the picnic table seating. Service was great and so was beer selection, except they were out of the beer I asked for, the recommended alternative was great. Check it out.

Yelp
Had a late lunch/early dinner as my flight landed at SkyHarbor after 2pm. We were the only customers when we arrived so we decided to sit at the bar. The waitress was super friendly and also very patient as we were tired and hungry and have never been to Patent 139 before. (We found it on yelp). We both had AMAZING burgers (smash style burgers) that were loaded with toppings but not sloppily overstuffed like you get at some burger joints. The waitress/bartender recommended a couple of beers when we shared our tastes and she stopped back several times to check on us and share a few stories from our recent travels. It was fun, and delicious and we will definitely go back again... and maybe save some room for dessert.

Yelp
I had a portobello mushroom sandwich and hubs had the Origin burger. Food was delicious and servers were pleasant and professional. Beer selection was ample; we each found something we liked. Taking off one star for the limited vegetarian choices.

Yelp
We came across this place while brewery hopping in Chandler. The building is very nice located in a well kept shopping center. The view on the back patio is amazing of a lake across a nice housing neighborhood. They have plenty of seating inside and outside. This would be a great location if you have a large party. The beer choices of their own are very limited. They only do small batches and only had 3 beers of their own to pick from. Otherwise, they have other beer and seltzer options. I also saw some wine. So you won't be without a drink if you don't like beer. Where they really shine is their food menu. This place is owned by the great grandson of the original Hass avocado grower. And to honor this, they have a giant Hass avocado sign hanging in the tasting room. Their menu mainly features items with avocados in it in some way or another. We got the Mexican street corn and it has slices of avocado on top. It was served chilled which wasn't bad. I personally would have diced the avocado up in chunks and mixed it with the corn instead of laying slices on top, but that is my personal opinion. Other items on the menu sounded great, however we just ate before so we weren't that hungry. I would suggest checking out their food menu to along with one of their in house beers.

Yelp
The overall impression seems like a somewhat blank canvas. The view from outside always makes me feel the place is almost empty. This alone does not draw me in. Seating is limited to the bar and picnic tables. Service really good Drink options are limited. They have select beers on tap, a Cider or two, a kombucha, and a few wine ( 1/2 bottles?) to choose from. The cocktails are canned cocktails. Food is good, and although a limited menu there are some creative options. Music, kinda not there. And the acoustic isn't very good. To me, all of this adds to the ambience. Party of 20+, brought their own cake in*, here for someone's birthday. Glad to see the do have some business. But it was loud loud LOUD. Understandable with it being a large party, but poor acoustics really made their presence VERY obvious. Felt like we were part of their event although sitting at bar. Likes *unique menu *Haas Avocado feature of the day. Sadly, today's caprese, $12, was served without any type of bread, toast points, or crackers. A request for what I thought typically rounded out this appetizer was an additional $2. *they will allow food from outside and even put it in the kitchen. Dislikes * Happy Hour only goes to 5 p.m. Sorry, I didn't even notice what the HH deals were. * Acoustics. I would hope they could improve the music and turn up the volume, or arrange tables differently so large parties don't become part of bar. Was challenging to hold a conversation. The menu options were the draw on this occasion. Tasty Beets in what i considered a salad. Hubby had the Chicken Sliders which got the thumbs up. They looked quite tasty. It will be the menu that brings us back again.

Yelp
New place we decided to check out. We loved that it's by the water and has outdoor seating. It was so nice! Our server was super nice and fun too! Gave great recommendations. I enjoyed the food and the beer selections they had! The issue is one person in our party cannot have pork and the menu does not specify which items have pork or pork fat in it. I think they should also have more vegetarian friendly dishes on their menu. Often times, we don't like to make requests for changes on the menu items, but they were very accommodating. I would still recommend trying this place out!

Yelp
Inaugural visit early Sunday afternoon, entered to a quiet bar w only a few people. Neertender Tom was so courteous and attentive!! I think he came down to us four times! Bringing us samples, beers and twice just to check on us if we needed anything else? Loved the neighborhood lake view! Although I don't care for picnic tables that you can't move the seat bench, their thoughtfulness for padding for the bench seat made up for it. How has nowhere else done this? Thanks Patent 139! As I glanced around I noticed the Traeger grill in the corner... assuming they potentially do grilling? Maybe not but I like the thought! Notice the railing between the picnic tables and bar... it's some fun artsy look to It. The space is really comfortable. Although I didn't peruse them they do offer quite the selection of guest taps. I like that the merch is all tucked away in a little closet. Parking was pretty easy w a strip mall lot. There are a few tv's hung about. Thanks Patent 139 for a comfortable place to grab a local beer poured by the delightful Tom, cheers!

Yelp
We were looking forward to finally trying this place out. It used to be our local hangout many years ago. The food looked great from the pictures on here. We stopped on our way to a concert in Tempe, so we ordered soda. We were never checked on again. We knew what we wanted to order. I love craft beer...I just don't drink and drive. I'd happily have a couple and Uber home. But I won't go back here. The server literally walked around to every other table around us and asked if they needed anything. He bussed the same table twice. We didn't get helped once by him. Their Diet Coke is pretty good though. We ended going to Mr. Pickles. If you order soft drinks, they won't wait on you. We wanted to order the smoked feta dip, grilled wedge and a burger. Oh well. Mr. Pickles was pretty good. The Perch Brewery has awesome staff.

Yelp
Update. Still great food. They have added a lot of beers on tap and they are doing their own. Anyone up for a pickle cider? Sounds gross but it has a lot of peppers and spices. Very good. Man. I'd use it to sauté pork in even. We had the BLAT sandwich. Bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. They use the freshest vegetables and I like that they choose romaine. We also had the cornbread. This isn't Paula Deen's gritty cornbread. They do have some whole kernels of corn in there, but this is more like a custard. Lots of maple flavors. Hubs tried the apple cider. So much better than the typical apple forward. It's more cinnamon forward. To me it's like an apple pie. No bitter or tartness. I had the maple stout. 12% ABV and sweet! Yum Thanks for another great meal With excellent service. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Lake views. In the desert. Hard to beat. For the dessert the avocado crème brûlée. Who knew? Creamy lemon and vanilla flavors predominantly. Don't be scared. Green color and still the identifiable caramelized sugar on top.

Yelp
Really enjoyed Patent 139. It's been open for a year and I never knew it was there. Their beer was good. Their Maple Imperial Stout was fantastic. Not too sweet. Very smooth. Just the right amount of booziness. The only draw back is their operation is small. They had three of their own beers on tap. They did have a good variety of local and nationals so they know their stuff. Food was really good. Burgers are perfect. Inventive as well. Their wings were on point too. I had the Peach Reapers and they were hot, but tasty as well. Patio is great out back. It'll be nice at night and the spring days as long as we have them. Cheers!

Yelp
What a cool place! It was decorated with classy sports decor and a huge nod to haas avocados. The picnic tables were fun and they paid special attention to tying the cushions down. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious filled with fun flavor surprises.

Yelp
Was not as good as the first time . A different Waitress was alittle snotty when I asked a burger question . Cornbread was burnt on the bottom . Not a consistent place .

Yelp
Delicious food. Seriously the best Brussel Sprout app we've ever ordered. French dip with extra side of horseradish was really tasty. Dang good beers too. Get some fresh food in your life and have a pint

Yelp
Come for the brews, come back for the food. Just had a great happy hour and was blown away by the appetizers I had. The brussels sprouts are so tasty and savory! The beet appetizer is refreshing and sweet. Had both and the combo was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend you come for a couple of ice-cold pints (mine were) and some FOOD! Service was chill, but attentive and the big windows allow for great natural light. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
We wanted to try something different and were extremely impressed by Patent 139 Brewing co! All of the staff were very friendly, and we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. We ordered the figgy piggy burger and the "French" dip. The figgy piggy had a very unique flavor, and really enjoyed the combination of savory and tart from the fig jam. The arugula was a great touch also! The French dip had smoked meats with caramelized onions and it was absolutely delightful. The side of Cajun fries we shared does have a kick so it lives up to it's name. I wished I took a photo of the view of the lake, but I will say that it was such a nice peaceful view. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm loving this new brewery in Chandler! Not only is the food and service amazing but the atmosphere is even better! All glass windows with a view of the lake!! We went during a hot wing challenge where we got to taste eight different chefs sauces and vote on our favorite! It was so much fun and we had such a great time. I plan on going back and trying the whole menu because everything looks fantastic!!

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem!! Read to the end!! Going out for brunch/ lunch on Mother's Day can be a painstaking process. Most places are super busy with long lines and wait times. I am so happy I found this place and wow I was not disappointed at all. Yes it was Mothers day and I fully expected every place to be busy, but decided to check out a new place that I had not been to before. Patent 139 was not packed and we were seated right away. Ok now I know what you are thinking, since its not busy it probably isn't that good right? Wrong... We started with some beers and ordered food. I am posting 3 photos of what we got, but there was a lot more, and everything was great. The roasted beet salad was delicious. If you love Feta like me you will find this very refreshing. We also got the nachos and they were very very appetizing. The Figgy Piggy burger is likely one of the best burgers I have ever had. The fried goat cheese patty is wowza. I ended up ordering the charred shishito peppers as well and added a couple in my burger and that took it up a notch with a little spice. But here is what really made this experience top notch!! The Service.... Our server Marie was absolutely amazing!! Attentive and always checking on us...always smiling and genuinely looked like she enjoyed what she did. Her personality and smile were infectious. If I owned a restaurant I would want someone like Marie working there. Marie thank you for being part of this experience and earning Patent 139 - 5 stars !!

Yelp
What can I say? I absolutely ADORE this place. The entire staff is so amazing (shout-out to Sara), the food is fantastic (thanks to Chef Jared) and the atmosphere and views are gorgeous! It's a stark difference from what the place used to be. I've ordered several things at this point and I have to highlight the following: - Smoked feta dip - Brussel Sprouts - Cajun Fries - Mussels - All the burgers! This place is spotlessly clean, the owner Tim is lovely and this place in general is just wonderful. 10/10 I highly recommend! Make visit there pronto.

Yelp
We spent a very nice afternoon at this Chandler brewery. They are right off of a little man-made lake and we sat on their patio. Great atmosphere, very friendly and attentive. The beers were excellent with the standouts of Bavarian hefeweizen and the neons blonde. They had a special sandwich that day which was a bacon, lettuce, tomato and it was very scrumptious. Also tried the brussels sprouts and the mesquite elote, which were excellent as well. To top it off, we shared a bananas foster - delicious! I highly recommend this brewery if you are in the area (located in a shopping center). We will certainly go back when we are.

Yelp
Had lunch today at Patent 139. We had a traditional hamburger and a portobello burger. They were both tastefully seasoned and absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. She was attentive without hovering. Our glasses never empty and we had a wonderful dining experience! We went for a late lunch so the room was pretty sparse. There was amble bench seating with a lovely lake view. The meal was not inexpensive. But it was worth every penny. It's a lovely little hide-a-way tucked anonymously in a strip mall. Find it. Take a date or your family and enjoy a wonderful dining experience. We did!!!!

Yelp
The food, atmosphere, service, and beer were all top notch! We're already looking forward to a return visit.

Yelp
Less avocado and more seating with back support would be Jimi's recommendation. At this point in Jimi's life sitting down without proper back support is not worth it. I can no longer do bench style seating. This is certainly not an indication that Jimi is in poor health. Hmm maybe Jimi does need more avocados after all. 5 stars.
